King Restaurant & Bar
Food is really good and the portion is huge.....price is ok and good service....parking is a little bit tricky due to limited availability....but overall place is really good
Had a quick lunch of shu Mai, Har gow and some pan fried item they recommend. Dumplings were already hot and came out instantly. Really really good flavor and the shu Mai had pork and mushroom with fish eggs on top. It looked a little weirder than ones I've had before but they were excellent. Har gow flavor was great too.
Dew Drop Inn
insanely good - the shrimp breading was the best i can fathom. noodles were fantastic, great flavor all around, very impressed!
I remember going to this restaurant thirty years ago as a child of about seven with my dad. I remember it being small, but cozy and two older, silver haired aunties working inside. I confess, I wasn’t a picky child and liked everything that I ate here, especially the steamed rice. Having found it still open and in the same location I had to try it with my wife. We arrived at the perfect time to find a parking spot and went inside to be greeted be two older aunties, not quite silver haired. One took our party size and we were sat within moments. I remember seeing a chef on the menu and looking through the pages. After a few minutes we ordered the house fried rice, shrimp and pork spicy sauce wonton, and the shrimp and pork pot sticker. Unfortunately, of the three, my wife and I only liked the house fried rice. The wontons had a healthy dose of cilantro in each and as a garnish overpowering the dish. The potstickers would have been good, but the sauce at table side was heavy with toasted sesame. This may have been my fault as a lack of understanding on my part, but it killed the flavor unfortunately. It was a good memory relived, but I may prefer going to a more well understood dining experience.
Panda Express
I stopped by and got the “bigger plate” which included three entrees. Went half and half on the fried rice and fried rice noodles. My go to entree is the honey walmut shrimp. That took care of my honey walnut craving. I also tried out their crispy chili shrimp. It was very dry and lacked flavor. I also got the tofu and eggplant which was served is a separate smaller box. This vegetarian entree was good. The service here is great. People behind the counter are friendly. Ample seating space. Parking is hard to get as the lot was full when I arrived for dinner. This is not a new issue for Hawaii. I parked on the street and walked a bit to the restaurant. Overall, good dining experience.
Location is a tight fit. When the drive-through gets busy, traffic backs up. Parking is a total nightmare here. Would NOT recommend this location based upon parking availability. Food and service are ok compared to other locations of the parent brand.
An Dong Chinese Restaurant
If you often have cravings for Korean Chinese dishes like Jjamppong or Jajangmyeon, the On Dong restaurant will soon become one of your favorites. Staffed by Korean ajummas, the service is fast, attentive and efficient. The ambiance is simple, casual and comfortable. The dishes we often order are the Jajangmyeon, Jjamppong, Tangsuyuk, and fried mandoo (pot stickers). All of them are so addictive! On Dong has always satiated our need for authentic and delicious Korean Chinese food. We’ve been loyal customers of the Eastern Paradise restaurant for decades, but when the kind owners retired at the end of 2024, we thought we would struggle to find a new place to satisfy our Korean Chinese food cravings. To our pleasant surprise, On Dong consistently brought familiar nods, smiles and a contented silence to the table as we were so focused on savoring our tasty meals there. Dine-in or takeout, you’ll be glad you came by.
Sweet and sour pork was S TIER, really good, super crispy 👌 Jjajangmyeon was also delicious definitely would recommend both ✌️
Chengdu Taste
Dinner at this restaurant was a good experience! Authentic Chinese, Sichuan cuisine indeed. Food quality was good, flavourful for the most number of dishes ordered. The hot and sour soup could have been more on the sour side, but it tasted more peppery somehow. The ong choy with fermented beancurd was rather tasty. So were the shrimp fried rice and twice cooked pork. The sautéed potato strips with red chilli and vinegar could have been more tangy as well. Overall, a wonderful dining place which can remind one of comfort Chinese homecooked cuisine.
Food was good. The only difficulty was finding parking in the area. We ordered tomato eggs, fish in pickled vegetable soup, spicy pepper chicken. All solid choices.
Mian (Honolulu)
The food was acceptable, although the flavours are tasty and slightly spicy (for the House Beef Noodles). The rolled pancakes with beef slices were interestingly nice, had purple cabbage in it (a first seeing vegetable apart from cucumber slices in such dish). Ambience of the place was rather quiet and unassuming, there were no other patrons during the lunch time except for some people who came to do takeouts instead.
Wontons were cooked perfectly, the sauce had a good kick and a hint of sweetness to it. The best wontons I had on the island. The wrapper was not too thick and the filling was very very juicy. Chengdu Zhajiang Noodle was delicious but maybe because we got it for takeout the noodle was cooked a little past aldente. Sauce, again, was delicious. The portion of the noodle was huge. Beef pancake roll was tasty and the bread was flaky and good. We ordered at 11 and food was ready by 11:20. Amazing service! Edit after eating in: everything was AMAZING.
Golden Duck Restaurant
Found the old school Cantonese comfort food of the islands. Food and service were surprisingly good. We will be back to have a larger party here. Lunch and Dinner plates priced right for the quantity and selection for a mixed plate. Decent crowd of dine in and take out customers.
I ordered the crispy oyster chicken noodle and it was great! The serving was huge. I paid $11.95 and the container could feed 2 people easy. I also purchased shrimp chips those were fabulous crunchy tasty and big. The waiter was kind and fast. I gave the 3 stars because the restaurant was cramped and there is little parking. That aside the food was the best Chinese food I’ve had since COVID. I will definitely be returning. The prices and the food definitely outweigh the cramped restaurant and junk parking!
Hawaii99 Takeout Express
The mini plate takeout choices are good. But string bean beef is tough. Butcher items like char siu and roast duck are more expensive. Small dining room with one large table and several small ones. One question for the owner: what is the real name for the restaurant? My receipt and your menu says Nine99 Seafood House. Your poster outside and this Maps entry says Nine99 Takeout Express.
Stumbled upon this place this morning. Got the crispy chicken that was soooo good!! So crispy and the meat was still juicy! Top notch. Also tried their creamy egg desert bao. DELICIOUS! Great customer service and all the food options are handmade and quickly made for your enjoyment. 10/10 will definitely come again. MAHALO 🫶🏽
Sichuan Style Noodle & Mao Cai
This new Sichuan stall in the International Food Court is hands down the star of the entire place. If you've never been, the place is totally unassuming—as with any authentic Chinese food court, it's not going to lure you in by the decor, and let's just say the English translations of the stall names are... interesting. In a place like this, the FOOD is everything! Each stall in this food court has a couple standout dishes—the roast duck at "Good Children" (roasted in-house) or the fried dough sticks with salted soy milk at "Chinese Cafe" (weekends only). But at this new Sichuan spot? EVERYTHING is good. I’ve lived in Hong Kong and visited Chengdu often. This is the most authentic Sichuan food I’ve had in the U.S.—better than anywhere in Chicago, including Chinatown. Here are some standouts: -Mapo Tofu: The *only* truly authentic Mapo Tofu I’ve had outside of Chengdu. They use real Sichuan doubanjiang (fermented chili bean paste), and it’s not just spicy—it’s ultra fragrant and tingly with Sichuan peppercorns. Really well balanced with layers of awesome flavors. -Mao Cai: What is Mao Cai? Think of it as "Hot Pot for One." The broth is loaded with tender beef, bouncy fish balls, and thick rice noodles that soak up all the tingling, umami-packed goodness. -Chongqing Soup Noodles: Most people probably go for "Sichuan Beef Noodles" due to familiarity (and they are great here), but the Chongqing Noodles are on another level. Bright, numbing, deeply flavorful, they rival the legendary beef noodle soup at "Katy’s Dumplings"—just a different style, with more tingle and pop. -Chongqing Noodle w/Pea & Meat Sauce: I'll admit, "Meat Sauce" isn't the most appetizing name. But you should order this. The "pea" here is actually "cowpea" and it's a classic Sichuan dry noodle dish-- like Dan Dan Noodle, but with more texture. -Pickled Fish Fillet: Classic Sichuan dish, also known as "Golden Fish Soup." Bright, slightly sour broth with a gentle heat that keeps it refreshing instead of heavy. -Zhong Dumplings: If you love thick-skinned, rustic, juicy Northern-style dumplings, these are legit. The chili oil, chopped peanuts, and green onions are perfect. -Steamed Pork Bao – Thick, chewy, like the skin of a weathered Tibetan grandpa's face (er, in a good way). Cold climate, working-man's food. This place has no right to be this good. It's the best Sichuan food in Chicagoland, hiding in a low-key food court in the western suburbs. Once people try it, it’s going to be the new Katy’s Dumplings, which is the highest endorsement I can give.
the restaurant is new and I am hoping this is to stay! The atmosphere is alright consider its just a food court and its truly a grandma type cooking they are very reasonable priced! A Sichuan beef noodles is only $11.95; they also offer one-person hot pot for only $16.95 it is a one-man or one-woman show; host, cook and services I don’t even eat spicy and we specify asked for mild/little, but still pretty spicy but it is a truly Sichuan style so we are not complaining! Although it is different style I would prefer this noodle over the one next store lol
Hua Ting Chinese Restaurant
Ive been going to this establishment for many years now, food is always great , owners are welcoming and will keep coming back. I quite dont understand low ratings from other people.
Amazing crispy sesame beef. Small, family run place on its last leg. Can't afford a dishwasher so they serve on Styrofoam plates. Go there before they shut down for good.
Pan's Express
This is a drive up only. It is off of the beaten path. But trust me if you go here you will get the best, honest, freshest, most tasty Chinese food around! I heard about Pan’s and drove over to see what people were talking about. Yes it’s a run down little joint in not the best neighborhood but, it’s still safe and easy to order. The food was AMAZING! The egg roll was one of the best I’ve ever tasted! The spare ribs were tasty and extremely well cooked. I was truly impressed with the food! The prices were the best part! In the days of, “I can’t feed my family”, this is a place that is an affordable for the whole family! Just call in your order and drive up to retrieve it! My kinda place!
I agree with an earlier post about pulling up at this kind of ugly run down building. But the food was decent. Hot. Fresh and good enough. Sodas are from a can. Plastic fork. Basically a to go place with a small 4 table dining room. Friendly local American cashier to take your order and authentic Chinese people cooking in the back.
Livonia City Cafe
The food is so good! The little couple that own it are so sweet and adorable. It’s so close to my house which makes is very convenient. Great home cooking!
This restaurant closes for weeks at the time. Now all of a sudden it's closed until September, or longer. Citing that the cook has had hand surgery. He's been using this with his hand for over 2 years because he's probably tired of working. Keep it closed forever. I'll never go there again anyway
