Kailua House
Perfect Date night spot. Me and my husband been trying to try new spots and this was definitely a winner. Some of the best Chinese food we’ve ever had, portions were amazing for the price (you’ll definitely be taking leftovers home) best service as well, our waitress was the sweetest lady. Environment was very cozy as well. The food came out in 10 minutes of ordering which was so nice.
Large portion size for the lunch plate. Super friendly staff. Hot and Sour soup was delicious.
Panda Express
Food is your normal panda express. It was fresh and hot. The service is fantastic super nice people. Very clean tables and dining area. Prices are pretty much the normal for a panda so its a great deal here. They have fun music playing
Wow the food was great and server’s were nice and everything was very clean.
Yen Yen Chinese Cuisine
Service was attentive and fast! Food was delicious! Everything was going well until we got the sweet and sour pork. When my wife went to dig in, she quickly spotted a black wire-y looking thing on the plate that looked out of place. Upon closer inspection, it was sharp and hard; metal hard. We're guessing it was a twisted staple or something like that. I included a picture below. It could've been a very dangerous situation if my wife or I had bitten down on that, or swallowed it. It's a shame. The food was good and all the service was spot on. But not sure if I would eat here again with this type of dangerous quality control problem.
It's true that people remember experiences more than any detail. This has been family-owned for years! (I don't know the exact history of this restaurant.) It was empty when we sat down. Lots of people ordered takeout during our dine-in. Anyway, very friendly service here. Hidden in the corner of this shopping center, close to Kailua Cinema. We ordered steamed fish filet with ginger sauce, stuffed bittermelon, shrimp fried rice, orange chicken, and Chinese chicken salad. All dishes were awesome!! 😋 I especially loved the chicken salad. It's rare that I finish it all; the chicken was not dry! the dressing was perfect. Got to talk to the owner a bit. She is very nice too. (Sorry, I forgot to ask your name!) But I definitely recommend this restaurant, and I will come back again! I want to try other dishes 😁
Harbor Village Cuisine
Stopped here for some quick food after hiking Koko Head Railway. We ordered a few items off the dim sum menu to share so we were in and out pretty quickly. The place was full when we arrived and was still full when we were finishing up.
Stopped in for Dim Sum. It's located in the Koko neighborhood plaza, a stone's throw from Leonard's Malasada truck parked in the lot. Chinese broccoli was excellent; had the oyster sauce on side; asked for hot mustard and chilie sauce. Char Sui Bao. Steamed bun with bbq pork. Crystal shrimp. Meatballs. Tofu skin wrapped beef. Fried dumplings. Black bean ribs. Sweet sticky rice sesame red bean balls.
Panda Express
The staff’s service was exceptional. Everyone was so friendly and efficient. While I was dining in I witnessed a diner who was being extremely rude and unreasonable. She wanted a small portion of stir fry broccoli without the other vegetables. The staff was accommodating and had the cook make it for her right away. She took a few bites and complained that it was too hard. The staff immediately notified the cook and he was going to cook it more for her. Within a minute, she started raising her voice, complaining that it was taking too long and she wanted her money back. Every staff that dealt with her was so nice- honestly, they had every right to tell her to get lost. It was frustrating to watch what they had to put up with, but they did it gracefully. I hope they see this and know they are appreciated! The food was also good! What I would expect from a fast food Chinese joint.
I’ve been a loyal customer for years, regularly ordering takeout from this location, but after today, I won’t be coming back—nor to any other Panda Express. When I arrived to pick up my order, the staff claimed I hadn’t paid for a bag, even though the app doesn’t even provide that option. Instead of handling the situation politely, they were extremely rude and dismissive. If you expect customers to pay for a bag, at least make it an option in the app. Terrible customer service and a complete disappointment.
Kirin Restaurant
Everything we got was delicious! Service was great, food was great quality, and location is awesome. Right outside the Hyatt regency and it’s downstairs. We even came back a second time to get the honey walnut shrimp that’s to die for. Highly recommend.
I recently dined at Kirin Restaurant in Waikiki, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with tasteful decor that enhances the overall dining experience. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, which made us feel welcome and well taken care of. The food was the true highlight. Every dish was flavorful and beautifully presented. The Peking Duck was perfectly roasted with crispy skin and tender meat, while the dim sum offerings were fresh and authentic, rivaling some of the best I’ve had. The seafood dishes, particularly the honey walnut shrimp, were outstanding – cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The portions were generous, making it excellent value for the quality. It’s clear the chefs take pride in using fresh, high-quality ingredients and traditional techniques. Overall, Kirin is a must-visit if you’re in Waikiki and craving exceptional Chinese cuisine. Whether you’re looking for a casual meal or a celebratory feast, this restaurant delivers on all fronts. I’ll definitely return next time I’m in the area. Highly recommended!
Duk Kee Chinese Restaurant Inc
5/10/2025 @ 2:45pm. I door dashed an order from Duk Kee for me and the wifey. I've been a long-time customer of their establishment. I have not been disappointed before but today. I couldn't believe it. I order $85 dollars of food. 1 order Lok Fun, 1 order char siu,1 order honey walnut shrimp and I was supposed to get a buy 1 get 1 free gau gee. Didn't receive that but paid for 2 orders. If I had known, I would've just paid 18 for the 10 pcs instead of 25.99. I understand inflation but not being ripped off. 10pcs of honey walnut shrimp for $25 and then charged $26 for a deal that I surely didn't get. Sad because I was bragging to my wife how good the food is and reasonably priced. Only for her to look at me disappointed when she opened the containers and we still hungry 2 hours later.
First return to this Kaimuki institution in roughly 20 years 📆 Food was tasty, not bland so I don't know why other reviews said so. My family arrived 7:30 on a Tues night and one of three dine-in tables. A steady stream of takeout orders and one Doordash pickup. Waitress says the kitchen closes at 8:30 and if there are no customers left, the dining room will also close 8:30 pm so get your order in before then.
Happy Days Chinese Seafood Restaurant
This was a great first time experience. Very nostalgic authentic place. I'd recommend coming a little earlier in the day since the dim sum is made hot every morning. The waiter came with the dim sum cart I got a couple of my go tos but I did try something new. The dim sum I think was very tasty, good flavor but I feel if I came earlier in the day it would have been more moist. The second waiter came with a delicious looking tray of buns and things, and I ordered look fun which then they went to prepare it. I've never had a better look fun, it was a little crispy and there was crunchy pork bits with the perfect sauce. I liked the dim sum but I loved the look fun! It's a little outdated inside but it has a sort of charm to it. I had 4 orders dim sum and a look fun (5 pieces) for $33! Probably time to raise your prices. Thanks it was so good.
Come to find out, you don't need to be in a Chinatown to have good Chinese food! I had this place bookmarked for a while but we ended up at another establishment due to a coin toss decision. This time, my spouse and I met some Oahu friends here for an early lunch. They open at 9am! Wow! ATMOSPHERE: Don't be scared by the way it looks on the outside. The inside is actually decent and fairly clean. It's a big space with lots of tables that filled up quickly as the day progressed. PARKING: The easiest parking is behind the restaurant in the paid lot shared with other businesses. There is no validation but our charge was affordable. MENU: Dim sum (with carts) along with a huge traditional menu. Pricing is very affordable. FOOD: I had my usual favorites including pork shu mai, chicken feet, steamed look funn with shrimp and custard tarts. I loved everything as they were fresh and flavorful. The look funn came with the soy-based sauce to the side, a plus in case you want more or less of it. I of course wanted more as it had a crazy good taste! Not as salty as traditional shoyu but with a hint of sweetness. If you know what it is they use, please let me know! I did try something new which was taro stuffed into an airy shell akin to shredded wheat cereal. I didn't care for it as the taro had an odd rancid taste like the smell of sour milk. Minute Chicken Cake Noodles Ever since I saw pics of this dish at other businesses, I had to try it somewhere as it looked so delish! The menu lists cake noodles, but it actually came with pan fried noodles which are deep-fried and crunchy. The gravy wasn't as savory as I had imagined but was still very good nonetheless. The chunks of marinated chicken were tender and tasty. Big portion for the price. Highly recommended. SERVICE: Some of the ladies were very brash in the typical Chinese way. Our waters were constantly topped off. Walk up to the counter to pay. OVERALL: Very good food and prices with everything available. If the service were better they'd easily be a five star establishment to me.
Asia Manoa Chinese Restaurant
Thought we would give it a try since it’s been awhile. Saw that there were still a lot of take out orders, so it was a good sign👍. Ordered our usuals for dinner for 8 and all courses were on par. Chicken salad, Fried Tofu, crispy gaugee, Boneless Minute Chicken Cake Noodle order extra noodles, Honey Walnut Shrimp, seasoned green beans, Fried Rice. Of course, prices have gone up, and portions have downsized, but that’s everywhere. It’s nice to have a neighborhood Chinese Restaurant where you can meet with your extended family. We will be back!
Small little Chinese restaurant tucked away in Manoa. Service is pretty good considering that only one person works the floor and had 4 parties. The guy usually just stays at the register or delivers food. The food was very good 👍 my folks have come here many times and it was amazing, I don’t even like Chinese food 😂. Parking lot was small but the bank next door is closed so we parked there. Would definitely come back again if in the area.
Tim Ho Wan - Waikiki
Went during Happy Hour which I highly recommend. 15% off every menu item. And those items were tasty. Very, very tasty. I was sad that they were sold out of the steamed rice rolls though. I would have loved to have tried some. Perhaps I’ll just have to visit their Hong Kong location, which had maintained a Michelin Star for 9 years, and get some there!
The overall quality of food is pretty good, though it’s not quite on par with what you’d find in Asia. The variety of snacks and drinks are impressive. I especially liked the char siu buns and chicken feet, which are definitely the standout dishes here—both are flavorful and unique. That being said, the custard buns were a bit too greasy, and some dishes, like the stir-fried noodles, could use more flavor. Still, I’d recommend giving it a try!
P.F. Chang's
We tried their special where you get an appetizer, a side, and and entree for roughly 22-25 dollars. The portion of protein was really quite small - I’ve had more food at a food court. The spicy chicken was tasty; as was the Mongolian beef. Good ambiance outdoors but we were seated inside - service was average but friendly. Reasonable value for the price but I’ve had much better Chinese food elsewhere.
Absolutely loved my dining experience at P.F. Chang’s Waikiki Beach! The food was incredible, and the staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit. My top picks were the Mongolian Beef—tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked—and the Singapore Street Noodles, which were packed with just the right amount of spice and savory goodness. I’m already looking forward to my next visit to explore more of the delicious items on their menu. Highly recommend! Carly is Great! 👍 Made our afternoon a special one.
HK Cafe
The food here is amazing! The stir-fried beef rice noodles are freshly cooked with that signature wok hei—it truly reminded me of being back in China. I especially loved the Hong Kong-style milk tea, which tasted really authentic. Considering it’s in Hawaii, the prices are very reasonable. This place deserves more attention!
We had a great meal here. There was only one server and she was working extra hard. The pot stickers were delicious and my husband really liked the beef chow fun.
