iNoodles
Everything here is a little too fatty and a little too salty. Its so much better than quicklys in terms of quality. Their poke is pretty good and their boba is not too bad. Just make sure you let them know to make the boba less sweet since they can go overboard. Good customer service.
Good dish
Brochette Dumpling
Not sure how this place is rated so highly. I ordered takeout from here for lunch. I got the Mongolian beef and popcorn chicken, which are a couple of my go-to’s for something quick. The Mongolian beef was the worst I've ever had. It tasted like low quality americanized Chinese mall food with its thick, sticky, sweet sauce. Mongolian beef should taste smokey and savoury, but this was anything but. The popcorn chicken was bland. They must have forgotten to season it, or perhaps similar to the Mongolian beef dish, they cater to an americanized palate.
We've come here before and don't recall the prices being that high. The XLB we had last time was really good, thin skin and flavorful soup/meat. We didn't order it this time. The pan fried buns are our personal fav because it is also soupy inside. The string beans is our second fav. The fried tofu is lacking in flavor compared to the other dishes. The pigs ear appetizer was good but definitely on the oily side. We ordered four items and the total came to ~$70 including tips. A little expensive but decent food!
Maple SF Restaurant
Food was ordered through Door Dash, but the restaurant had it prepared quickly and out for delivery: chicken mein, black code in black bean sauce with fried rice, pork/oyster/ mushroom with tofu and shrimp dumplings. All very good, hot and fresh
During the pandemic, they were open for take-out. I remember looking for food and was happy to find them. The food was OK back then and it is the same now. By no means are they fancy. This time around, their dining room has reopened. I still did take-out though for some BBQ pork wonton noodles $12.50. The BBQ pork was really chewy and the eight wontons were OK. I don't really like thick noodles with soup. I would rank their broth as nothing special. It was an OK meal.
J & A Restaurant
Food here does not disappoint. Great portions, great price. Hole in the wall restaurant with amazing staff. Recently found this place and haven’t stopped coming here since.
Friendly mom and pop take out place. Good food
Buffalo Kitchen
Their pork and egg rice noodle roll / Cheung fun / 腸粉 is made fresh to order and is outstanding
1st of all I live really close to this place one morning I was hungry so I went to Buffalo Kitchen wearing my sleeping wear, the waiter lady came up to me and said u know that we are a expensive restaurant, she judged me by my appearance and was hoping that I don't order because she thought that I was probably some homeless that is probably going to eat and not pay. I left the restaurant without order anything, and will encourage people that see discrimination not to eat there also.
Wok-In Cafeteria
Food not cooked properly, I had been eating Chinese at various places but this is very bad here especially the noodle, it tastes like chewing a dough. When I try to complain the manager lady yelled me saying get lost. I tried to pay but I m answered only by scream at face shouting get lost. Never going here again. I work at postal dept right behind them.
This restaurant had a great environment, they were kind, quick and the food was delicious! Definitely would come back.
Sing Siu Zai Min
I would say bland....Wakaru has better Ramen for similar price...good broth energizes the body...dumplings didn't have much flavor for the price point. This place would be great of they make it into a bar but with small nightmarket dishes...
I was looking for a ramen spot for lunch after the Zoo and stumbled on Sing Siu Zai Min. They have a ramen menu and a dim sum / Hong Kong style menu. We got the Brisket Ramen and Xiao Long Bao, both were excellent! The brisket ramen has a clear, clean broth that was flavorful with a perfect, slightly sweet aftertaste. The restaurant itself is very clean and modern, much more so than other Asian restaurants in the area. The presentation of the food was fantastic. I know my way around the Sunset chinese food scene and think this will be our go-to for the near future. Also talked with the owner Kevin. Super nice and personable. They just opened last week and will be expanding the Hong Kong side of the menu soon. Can't wait to try!
Snow Bliss Cafe
Snow Bliss restaurant is brightly lit. You can read a book in there. We came by after dinner to get some shaved ice. We had the mango bingsu $17, coffee bingsu $17, Thai Tea bingsu $17, matcha bingsu $17. My friends enjoyed it. Their menu is 1/2 half dessert snack shop and 1/2 Chinese food. Service was fine. It did take a while for the last shaved ice to come out. We were done with the previous desserts when it came out.
Fun and unexpected! Friendly staff! The bingsu is amazing! Shaved ice dessert! We enjoyed the mango one—ice cream, big mango pieces, shaved flavored ice with Fruit Loops and syrup! It’s heavenly without being too heavy or sweet! Highly recommend! Will be back to try all the flavors!
Lazy Susan
A gluten free haven! Most items are GF as-is (please know that the restaurantis not 100% gluten free). I've been here multiple times now; the food is always flavorful and piping hot. My favorite has been the orange chicken, and the sesame and General Tso's is delicious too. My non-GF guests did not know it was GF either! My new favorite spot in the city
I enjoyed the food that I got delivered from here. This place makes an alright Sesame and General Tso’s Chicken, though the Sesame Chicken is very ginger-y
Wei’s Cafe (Jo Jo's Cafe)
Came here after a long run and it filled me up! Good: - The curry laksa soup was amazing! - The baked pork chop was also amazing - so much flavor - The portion sizes and prices were great- we even took home almost the whole dish since we had so much food left over. - The place is super clean and modern inside, super cute and nice fairy lights and tons of seating, no wait Bad: - The food took a little bit to get to us, and it was really cold inside on a super cold day - The servers don't speak great english so it's a bit hard to communicate Overall would come again for the value.
I stumbled upon this spot while I was walking aimlessly down Ocean Ave. I was in the mood for a satisfying soup, so I ordered the chicken pho noodle soup. It was satisfying indeed. The soup was tasty, hot, and fresh. Big serving, and the chicken tasted of good quality. I will return to try more times!
Wang Wah
We accidentally found this place on Ocean Ave. It has a different name out front and kind of looks like a Chinese restaurant from decades ago. But the woman working there was friendly (she's been at it since 1985) and it's veg-friendly, so I gave it a go. The food was served fast and hot, the portions were huge (we took home for another meal), and it was delicious (kung pao tofu and friend green beans). I'm eager to go back to try more veg dishes!
Huge variety on the menu, but the basics and my favorites like BBQ Pork Fried Rice, BBQ Pork Chow Mein, Broccoli Beef, and this incredible soup I forget the name of are all delicious and well made. The portions are very generous the couple who own the place are incredibly friendly. Looking forward to trying out more of the things on the menu. Highly recommended if you're in this part of the neighborhood.
Golden China Restaurant
This place has always been a neighborhood favorite, great service along with many delicious choices to choose from. Definitely will be back!
Nothing special; overpriced Chinese food, in my opinion; most/all dishes come out noticeably soggy.
