Well let’s start out saying I’ve been eating here for over 20 years,Until Covid. It was Always a great place To dine for food. They have only been open for delivery only since the Covid era. After recently hearing they opened the in dining back up we were Excited to get back to what It was. But…. Unfortunately you have to order from a kiosk as you walk in the door. If you choose to dine in you seat yourself. You get your own drink and plasticware. Then they serve your soup in a plastic dish with a lid and your food in a plastic togo box. Very disappointing. It’s basically ordering take out and eating it in their house.

The interior was clean and beautifully decorated, the food was delicious, the waitress was very friendly and sweet, and they have an adorable cat robot deliver your food. 10/10 experience, would absolutely recommend! My brother and I both had the Kung Pao triple delight. I only wish I could have afforded a bigger tip!

2nd time. It has been some years back. ▪︎Great sushi. Food was good, (Yummy) was happy all the different foods we had were hot in (temperature). I forgot they had my favorite Shrimp wrapped in bacon. ▪︎Servers took great care of us. They Well reasonably priced. Great value. ▪︎If you want good Chinese, kind of hidden out beaten track. But worth it.

Amazing place! I would definitely recommend this place if you are in the area. Food selection is huge and it is good quality food and fresh. Waitress was super nice and friendly and attentive.

By far some of the best Chinese food in Johnson county. It’s pretty tough to find a Chinese restaurant that uses white meat and this place does! Called in a to-go order for General Tso chicken and it was ready in 5 minutes. Taste, portions, and service was great. Will definitely be back to try some other dishes! Highly recommended.

My favorite Chinese place in the area, without a doubt. Not only is all of the food always amazing, but everyone who works here is incredibly nice as well. They’re usually very quick, and if they’re running even just a few minutes behind, they’re always apologetic and sweet. I love coming here and being greeted by the same sweet lady almost every time. We’ve been coming here for almost 5 years now, and we’ve never had a bad experience.

Menu is huge, with many different Asian cuisines, I came specifically for Chinese but they had Singaporean noodles! So I got that. The noodles were cooked perfectly as was the shrimp. The pork was dry and chewy. Overall I enjoyed the meal and will return. The next time I will get shrimp only. The Thai tea, was not true Thai tea. Both the Crab Rangoon and hot & sour soup were excellent. They are unique in offering a small portion as an option.

We had an amazing Chinese New Year feast at Monkey King BBQ & Noodle in Overland Park. This Cantonese restaurant specializes in Chinese BBQ and traditional Cantonese cuisine, and we ordered twenty dishes to share family-style. The BBQ platter was outstanding. The crispy pork belly had a perfect crunch, with tender, flavorful meat underneath. The roasted duck had crispy skin with juicy, succulent meat, and the char siu had just the right balance of sweetness and smokiness. Their claypot dishes were some of the best we’ve had. The braised eggplant with salted fish and minced chicken was packed with deep umami flavors. The braised pork knuckles in fermented bean curd sauce were incredibly tender and rich. The braised pork belly with taro was a standout—the taro soaked up all the flavors, giving it a smooth and creamy texture. Since a whole fish wasn’t available, we opted for the fish fillet in black bean sauce, which was a great substitute. The poached chicken with ginger scallion sauce was simple but delicious. We also enjoyed egg rolls, spicy beef tendon, homemade pork potstickers, mapo tofu, beef chow fun, stir-fried udon with shacha sauce, Yang Chow fried rice, and stir-fried gailan. Despite the restaurant being very busy, the staff did their best to accommodate everyone. Prices were reasonable, portions were generous, and everything was delicious. If you're looking for authentic Cantonese food, Monkey King BBQ & Noodle is a must-visit.

Excellent authentic Chinese cuisine! We had the family dinner and it was so much fun to share. It came with the choice of soup, the mixed appetizer, and the two entrees. Everything was delicious. The atmosphere is beautiful and the restaurant is both well maintained, decorated and clean. We will definitely be returning.

First time here. The service is top notch. Everyone is extremely nice. Egg rolls were delicious. My husband and son said the hot and sour soup was good but could have had more heat. My husband ordered the brisket off of the Chinese menu-he said it was good, just not a lot of meat. I had broccoli in brown sauce it was very tasty. My son said the Mongolian beef was good. We ordered fried rice for the baby, she ate really well. Portions are huge. A bit on the pricy side, $120 including tip. Parking could be a challenge. We will definitely go back.

I have enjoyed their food but they make it pretty hard to actually eat there. Take out only, hard time getting them on the phone to place an order, seems they don’t manage their online presence well (sometimes closed when online says they’re open). Over all wish they would try a little harder to actually serve some food.

Served hot and pretty tasty. Seems to do good business. Cheap dining utensils and Styrofoam plates but affordable pricing. Good crab Rangoon, rice and General Tso chicken. My family liked the dumplings the best

DO NOT GO, This place was awful, I have never received such terrible service. The individual was down right rude when I requested to change my food. Mind you, it was bland and the lady told me that it wasn’t her problem I didn’t like the food. Just wow!! The audacity in the way she spoke to me as a customer. HIGHLY disappointed, she told me this was American culture to switch out your meal, they don’t do that in china where she’s from. Well lady, we are in America and I wasn’t trying to be rude however the food was to my disliking and my husband felt the same about the orange chicken, it was cold and tasted off. We were informed “we” were wrong when we requested the dinner specials and they were supposed to come with crab Rangoon and egg roll, yet she asked if we wanted small or regular. It was very confusing. Unfortunately this place doesn’t stand by the golden rule “the customer is always right”. I’m not a person to be rude or send things back for no good reason, the food was a HUGE let down. She tried to explain her way out of everything, it was very rude how she bluntly told us we were in the wrong and she would have to charge us more if I chose differently. Mind you I had taken one bite of my food and it was not good (it’s not like I ate half my plate or was trying to get anything free). Don’t let the reviews here fool you, as they did us. We are use to exceptional service and places that go above and beyond. Sadly this place fell very short of their reviews. Any other establishment would’ve asked how they can make things right, I hope this review helps them grow from their mistakes.

1st time stopping in here. Clean little restaurant with great staff and great tasting food!!! Will have to try again when we come thru here

First time in. The food is really good but they need to work on the wait time. First chinese restaurant that I had seen that doesn't have lunch specials. Totally recommend it if you don't mind spending about $20 per person.

Decided to try, because it's really close to home. Walking into a smelly restaurant at 11:30 am lunchtime on a Weekday and seeing no customers and no phone ringing should've have been a warning. But I was hungry, tired, and already there. $18.21 for S&S Chicken and four Spring Rolls. I thought if it's good, it's worth it. Ate one spring roll on the drive home. It was really good, so I was hopeful for excellent food. Got food home. It was terrible, chicken so dried out it was splintered. Sweet and sour sauce so sweet, there was zero flavor. No pineapples, peppers, or onions like every other Chinese food place I've ever had. Just very, very dried chicken. The 4 spring rolls were really good but not worth price of $18.21. I've had better food off a lunch buffet. Took picture as soon as I got home, just because of the portion size, and how plain it was.

I got some take out for me and the wife. We enjoyed the combo fried rice the most and there was plenty of it. The lo mein was okay, not our favorite we've had. The orange chicken was good though! Overall, a good place to grab a bite to eat sometime. Definitely try out the fried rice!

Great quick and tasty Chinese food with excellent lunch specials. I usually call ahead and place my order and they will get it done in 15 minutes. They have a variety of food options you can choose. It is very convenient and you may also dine in, but it is a small place.

Great stop for lunch. Seated quickly, orders taken and full drinks placed. Food came out fast as well. Had the wonton soup which started the meal off nicely and finished off with their General Tso lunch special. So much food for such reasonable prices. Great choice for a good meal packed with flavor.

I’ve been eating at this restaurant for as long as I can remember and the food is phenomenal. The staff are kind and polite. I have many fond memories of meals with my family here at this place when I was a child and now I have shared this place with my own family and they are hooked, too.

April 2025: We have been a little disappointed our last couple of orders. It seems like they have reduced their portion sizes. We have been going elsewhere. August 2022: Good food and nice size portions. Their Crab Rangoon are delicious! You can order on line or by phone. Take out or inside seating is available. No masks required. Delivery is not available directly from them. The wait time varies but we have averaged around 15 minutes before food is ready for pickup.

We are looking for good Chinese food and thought we would try the local place. The food was ok. My husband had the hot and sour soup and said it was once he added soy sauce. Also said the sweet and sour chicken was a disappointment. The sauce was on the side and no pineapple, ginger or peppers; just chicken. I had broccoli in brown sauce. Very little flavor, the carrots were a nice addition though. I also had the pan fried dumplings, they were quite good. My husband did like the egg rolls. We saw eight cases of fortune cookies and didn’t get one. They seem to do a big take out business. We will keep looking for our go-to Chinese restaurant.
