Zongzi House
By the time I got here, a little after 2pm, they were sold out of the Zongzi I wanted. The owner had 2 vegetarian ones left and he offered them to me. It had tofu, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, and a chestnut inside of rice that was steamed. It tasted really good and made me full and I only ate one.
Great Chinese home food with delicious meat and vegetarian options! The vegetarian (tofu, mushroom, and peanuts) and red date zongzi are amazing. Zongzi is served fresh, and homemade frozen dumplings are also available. They seem to run out of zongzi types sometimes so maybe call beforehand if you want something in particular.
Sun-Ly Chinese Restaurant
I love sweet and sour pork gotta try it get the lunch special ends at 2:45pm but I highly recommend it this food is one of the best I've had
This place has delicious food, and they got it ready relatively fast. They didn't give us any chopsticks though, so that was a bummer. The prices are average for Chinese food (expensive), but the leftovers fed 4 of us a second time, so it was worth it. All in all, a great place to grab some quick and tasty Chinese food.
Dough Zone Dumpling House North San Jose
We went there for dinner. It is a clean and nice place. We ordered momos and got a quick service. Momos were tasty. Then we tried noodles. It was costly for the serving size. The crepe we ordered was also costly. Overall tasty food but overpriced for portion size.
Good good good. The dumplings are juicy and delicious. The beef noodle broth is tasty as well as the minced chicken. The noodles themselves are okay. The green onion pancake is crispy fried to satisfaction. I like ordering a few small things so this place is great. Good spot. The Dan Dan noodle I was absolutely not a fan of. Not for me.
Venus Cafe - San Jose
This restaurant has been here for a long time, I've been there maybe 3 times, but this will probably be my last time. It's very narrow inside, and the tables are right next to the tables next to them. I ordered Lemonade, but it came with a cup of sugar water + lemon slices for $5.95 (see picture ), the fried instant noodles were OK, but the pork chop was very thin $17.95 . The seafood puff soup not only took a long time to wait, but the soup inside was canned + two pcs shrimps, two pieces of squid $ 14.75 .
This establishment is a Hong Kong-style café, reminiscent of similar venues found in Los Angeles. It features a menu that offers a fusion of traditional Chinese and Western-style dishes, typical of the Hong Kong dining experience. While exploring the menu, I faced the challenge of choosing from a wide array of appealing dishes. Ultimately, I opted for the baked pork chop, which closely resembled my previous experiences and was quite enjoyable. Additionally, we ordered the Hainan chicken rice, a dish where the quality of the rice is crucial. While it was satisfactory, it didn't quite meet the standard of what I had previously tasted in LA. Another noodle dish we tried was also quite good. As I currently reside outside of the West Coast, I may not have the opportunity to return. However, for those who live in the area and are seeking authentic Hong Kong café cuisine, this restaurant is worth a visit.
Jade China Restaurant
Food is unfortunately bad. A simple chicken fried rice had no flavor, just carrots and peas, and the chicken looked undercooked, like a slimy piece of fish, with a lot of skin. They also didn’t include the drink that I ordered and paid for.
Jade China Restaurant is a popular spot for Chinese takeout. I stopped by in the evening to pick up some food, and the first thing I noticed was how busy the parking lot was. It can be a bit challenging to find a spot, but that’s usually a good sign of a well-loved restaurant. Sure enough, when I walked in, there was a line of customers waiting to place their orders, confirming that this place has a strong following. I ordered a variety of dishes to get a good sense of the menu, including Spicy Eggplant, Mixed Vegetables, Chinese Chicken Salad, Sesame Balls, Crab Rangoon, and Chow Fun with chicken. Despite the crowd, the service was efficient, and my food was ready in a reasonable amount of time. The Spicy Eggplant stood out with its perfect balance of heat and flavor. It had just the right amount of spice without being overwhelming, and the texture was excellent—tender yet not mushy. The Mixed Vegetables were fresh and cooked just right, retaining their natural crunch and flavor. Sometimes mixed vegetable dishes can be bland or overcooked, but that was not the case here. The Chinese Chicken Salad was another highlight. It was crisp, tasty, and well-balanced with a flavorful dressing that tied everything together. The combination of fresh vegetables, chicken, and crispy wonton strips made for a refreshing and satisfying dish. For appetizers, I tried the Sesame Balls and Crab Rangoon. The Sesame Balls were delightful, with a nice outer crunch that gave way to a soft, chewy center with a hint of sweetness. The Crab Rangoon had a crispy exterior and a creamy, flavorful filling that wasn’t too heavy or greasy. The Chow Fun with chicken was a solid choice as well. The noodles were cooked well, and the dish had a good balance of flavors, with tender chicken and a satisfying texture. Overall, I was very pleased with my meal. The food was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. While the parking situation and the wait times might be a slight inconvenience, the quality of the food makes it well worth it. I’d definitely return to Jade China Restaurant for another delicious takeout experience!
Chef P's Restaurant
Best Chinese restaurant I've ever been to. We drove from Central valley to try this restaurant. Every was perfect. Service was amazing and off course so was the food. But what really nice was the owner Lloyd came out to greet us and even sat with us and had a little chat with my family. We are definitely going back to enjoy this amazing place. Thanks Lloyd 👍 😊
Soft Salt Pepper Squid and Orange Chicken sauce on side are great, so is Less salty vegetable chow mein. Good choice of beers n soft drinks
Kingwuu
Exceptional experience! The flavors are better than before, and the lady boss’s service was impeccable. Can't wait to return for more culinary delights!
Guys! Y’all gotta try this! Great food. I usually drive 30 mins for this restaurant! Love the duck head!!!!!
酸小七 酸汤鱼Seven Fish Cuisine
Food tastes good. Friendly service: they offer to lower msg n spices the second time, but still too much to eat daily. For the already reduced level of spice, eating once or twice a week is fine.
Big portion, fair price, rare for the bay. We ordered the big golden sour and spicy fish soup and the dry spicy hot pot which was sufficient for 4 of us. For both, I enjoyed the variety of ingredients. For someone with a low spicy tolerance, the spice level was just right.
Pearl River Restaurant
This is the second time I’ve ordered a chicken dish at this particular Chinese restaurant. This is the last time the chicken is so dry underneath the breading and sauce I needed kitchen scissors to cut through the chicken I am not kidding! We also order the war wonton soup it tasted like lettuce water my daughter said with soggy old lettuce leaf, no ginger, no soy sauce just plain old lettuce water and old wontons, The only person who liked the food with the dog. Please don’t waste your hard earned money on this old chicken they serve and old soup!
Very clean and set up is really nice. Our waitress was very informative and very tentative. We ordered the #3 dinner special. For two people we got soup, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees and 2 sides. All for $17 per person. Everything was delicious and well presented on our plates. I would definitely recommend this place if you want nice, comfortable, affordable and delicious Chinese food.
Yen Ching Chinese Food
I don't see how this place has 4 stars. The place is dirty upon entering. I ordered my food. I receive dit in 5-10 minutes. It smelled good. We'll the fried rice was okay, the brocolli beef was the star of the plate. The egg roll was not good. The exterior taste like old oil and you can't taste anything of the inside. I wouldn't ever go back but it wa okay I guess...
First time coming to this establishment I have to say the food is good, the dine in seating is very quaint and small. I also love the customer service. The owner was very nice and courteous when serving our food. My only small complaint was that the portions for the walnut shrimp was a bit small. Nonetheless the food and great service made up for it...
Hometown Taste
Small restaurant, three tables, mainly take out. The food was quite good! Portion sizes were also good. I had the Kung Pao Shrimp & Kung Pao Squid. Though both were delicious, I preferred the seasoning of the Squid. Nice level of heat without it overpowering the taste. It is busy! There may be delays, but it IS worth the wait. I will be back to try other items on the menu.
Absolutely delicious! The Mongolian Beef was perfectly cooked with a rich, savory sauce, and the fried rice was flavorful and satisfying. The Chow Mein had the perfect balance of tender noodles and crispy veggies. Great portions and fantastic flavors all around. Highly recommend!
Home Eat汉家宴 - San Jose
This restaurant did NOT disappoint! I understood later why our server was amused by our ambitious order. The salt and pepper fried chicken wings were crispy with just the right kick. The hot and sour soup was all about comfort and tangy warmth. The Mongolian beef was bursting with bold flavors, and the spicy boiled fish fillet was silky, and deeply satisfying. The shrimp and ham fried rice was the perfect accompaniment, fluffy amd savory. The decor is nothing fancy but the food more than makes up for it! The service was friendly and attentive. Definitely coming back!
I’m very happy to be able to order from Home Eat San Jose every week! This time we got the Explosive Chili Pepper Chicken with Fries, and it truly blew me away — a huge portion, full of flavor and spice. My friends and I even packed some of the hot dishes to go because there was so much food. Big thanks to John for his warm hospitality — he always thoughtfully asks if I’d like water or hot tea, which makes me feel very welcome. The restaurant also plays great music, and the atmosphere is super cozy. Most impressively, I simply scanned the QR code on the table and the food came out almost immediately. So efficient! Highly recommend this place!
