Wok on Soto
I love the food from here. Staff take their time to prepare it, so it gets to you freahly cooked and prepared. The dishes are very delicious and well packed. Prices are good. I recommend their chicken noodle soup and spicy salt wings. Staff have always been nice. The seating is small and has no public restroom. Other than that one small detail, 5 stars all the way for this little hidden gem.
the service was fast and good. only waited about 10 minutes for my food. I got the #3 Teriyaki Chicken with rice and chow mein. It was only $9 good price and good taste. edit: the pictures of the prices for the plates are for dine in and take out only. It will most likely cost a bit more if you choose to have it delivered or order online.
Fried Rice Express
Delicious! My fiancé and I tried this place today (9/29/24) and it was worth it! The lady who served us had spot on customer service and made my whole experience enjoyable! The food was yummy and overall I’m very happy we stopped by! Would come back again! 🫶
This isn't one of those Chinese Fast Food joints that packs your to go plate but the flavors make up for that. The prices are decent (about $8.50 for rice or chow mein and 2 items), but they also have items that other places don't have. For example they serve orange chicken and tangerine chicken. I highly recommend the jalapeño chicken pictured above. I might actually stop by often just for jalapeño chicken. They also offer free soup with each combo purchase. The atmosphere is okay, it has a sort of run down dining room and the servers speak fluid English. And they don't try to sell you Sriracha sauce like other places. You can use as much Sriracha sauce as you want if you dine in. I spent about $40 for 4 people which is my goal during this inflation. 🥡
China Express
Chinatown Express in Boyle Heights is the best Chinese food spot in the area. They are very nice and welcoming. They will fix your food however you request.
I ordered egg foo yung and it came with no gravy and no green onions. I asked for gravy and got enough for one patty. They must have have me frozen food. This was not and I repeat it was not made of egg at all. I would post the picture of o could but I can't. I didn't recommend this place for anyone looking for authentic egg foo yung.
Golden China Restaurant
The service was great, the atmosphere and food are both top-notch, and overall it's just a nice, relaxing place to devour some genuinely tasty Chinese food! Definitely try their orange peel chicken, it's lovely :)
The food is delicious here and the people are friendly, it is under new management but the menu and the food are great as always. It is an experience like I remembered going with my parents, to a family owned Chinese restaurant. Love it.
K H China Express
Ok so I've eaten here before but this time the food was flavorless. Like missing something. Chow main looked off. Color was whitish not what I'm used to. But the vegetable egg rolls were so good. See the difference.
There was hair in the food, the hair in itself was disgusting & distasteful. Picture below. To respond to their response, I called the exact number provided through DoorDash and talked to an employee who apologized about the hair. I checked the address & phone number through DoorDash and it matches:)

🥡🔥 The Ultimate Hidden Gem: Better Than Panda, Cheaper Too! 🔥🥡 This place? UNREAL. 🤯 Imagine if Panda Express leveled up but somehow got cheaper—yeah, that’s what we’re talking about. 🍜🐼 The portions? HUGE. 🍚 The flavors? PERFECT. 🥢 The price? Too good to be true. 💰 You walk in, order a combo plate, and BOOM—you’re walking out with enough food to last two meals (or one if you’re really about that life). 🏆 The orange chicken? Crispy, tangy, and 100x better than fast food chains. 🍊🔥 The chow mein? Not greasy, just pure noodle magic. 🍜✨ And don’t even get me started on the dumplings—handmade perfection. 🥟💯 If you’re not eating here, you’re wasting money and missing out on flavor heaven. 🌏
I was actually surprised at how good the food was here very tasty and a lot put on your plate (well, container). Though sometimes I run into this problem with their red meat being a little on the overcooked side, everything else has not disappointed me. A very convenient place for lunch ok the hurry.
Phoenix Food Boutique - South Pasadena
I ordered takeout thru uber and the food was great! We had the coconut mango rolls which are 10/10, very great and fresh flavor and bigger portion than I expected. Definitely recommend. We also had the shrimp egg rolls which were nice and crispy and were loaded with delicious shrimp that was not overcooked. Will be ordering this again next time. The young chow fried rice with Chinese sausage, eggs, and green onions did not disappoint. It was a nice big portion (it fed me, my boyfriend, and toddler). The only small downside is that is was a bit oily, but I recommend trying this dish. The stir fry noodles with beef brisket had good flavor and plenty of meat. The meat tasted fresh and soft. Lastly, the braised beef stew noodle soup was the greatest dish we got from here. The broth has a hint of ginger and comes with bokchoy and the beef which were cooked to perfection. It tasted very fresh and authentic. I definitely recommend this dish if it is your first time.
My friend and I visited the establishment around 1:30 pm on Saturday, and it was not busy at all (pleasantly surprised!) As we had already eaten lunch, we picked up desserts and ate them outside. There are a few tables outside if you prefer Al fresco. I have been to other locations but I like this one. The staff members were very friendly, and I will definitely come back when I am in the area.
Oak Tree Inn
Oh man, the food here… everything is so good! My top orders: - three flavor rice soup that was served in the beginning. It has rice, shrimp, green snaps, and fish😍 - honey glazed walnut shrimp - peking duck with bun - yang chow fried rice - lobster - scrambled egg with shrimp Make sure to book ahead Oh amazing fortune cookies too😀
I went here with my family on Sep 21st. We ordered Singaporean noodles and chicken and other items. We didn’t like the Singaporean noodles that much because it didn’t have that much sauce. The chicken was okay. We also got walnut shrimp. It was perfect. The walnut to shrimp ratio was amazing. The food was delicious and we’d eat here again.
Panda Express
Oh man, we went here because we were craving Panda Express but there was a ginormous rat that was hanging out on the top of their sign! Honestly, we’ve been here before and it was pretty shocking because it’s pretty clean but that was disgusting so they need to get checked. 🤢🤢🤢
Great staff and food at this location. The food is FRESH hot and delicious .I ordered kung pao chicken and it was really good!!! Ty this location is really good! The gentleman served my food, had a smile on his face and was very welcoming. It was closing time and everyone was really nice.
Little Beijing
Went here for lunch with coworkers and asked if they could make mixed vegetables and shrimp with white sauce even though it’s not on the menu. I felt a little bad for the special request, but they made it anyway and it turned out so good! Super flavorful and fresh. Definitely coming back!
The fried rice tasted sweet. The noodles were bland . I got orange chicken it was okay . And I also got spicy wings that were spicy but it honestly didn’t taste like chicken. The Sriracha sauce tasted like pure vinegar and was not spicy at all.. I only came my first and last time btw because of the high reviews, but it was misleading.
O K Chinese Restaurant
Combo 2, half and half fried rice and noodles with 2 entrees for 11.95 (13.09 with tax) and the serving was massive, like it is overflowing. I got the Orange Chicken and Kung Pao Chicken. I really liked the Orange Chicken, it’s crunchy and freshly made. The kung pao is a little salty for my taste. The servers were nice and they really give you a hefty serving. There is actually a bit of a queue because there were loads of customers on a Sunday lunch time but the servers were fast. Also I paid by cash. Not sure if they accept card. I forgot to ask.
The name of this place lives up to its name: it's OK. 😂 In the 15 years that I have lived nearby, this was my second time eating OK Chinese food and my first time ever walking in to get my own food. I think $12 for combo B is just a little steep since I pay just under $10 for the same amount of food elsewhere, and the food here is just okay. The orange chicken and fried rice is very mid while the chow mein was pretty good. I had a side that consisted of chicken, green peppers and onions which I did enjoy. However next time I will be getting a combo A because combo B is enough to feed 2 people and the food is very greasy. If I have to compare this to Flaming Wok in Arleta, Flaming Wok has more flavor and looks healthier. OK Chinese food is straight out bad for you if you're not going to diet or actively burning calories like I am. 🥡
China Grill Express
This is real Chinese food (less oil compared to Panda Express). Very healthy. Great price. I got those 3 big plates for $29. A lot of meat, a lot of vegetables. On top of that, I got a card: buy 10, get 1 for free. Thank you
I been coming to this place for a few years and they never disappoint me. Their food is fresh and delicious at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend their Curry Chicken❤️🙌
