Emperor's Garden
Sweet sour soup was mostly tofu with a few mushrooms and slivers of carrots. It had an odd flavor and the crunchy wonton strips were stale and tasteless. Kung Pao Shrimp was tasty, but there were only three shrimp in the entire dish. The rest consisted of mostly celery with some big chunks of green pepper and a tiny sprinkling of peanuts. No ice available for my glass of water. Women's bathroom was out of order. The server brought my food and went back to her phone and never spoke again. Won't be back.y
I drive here from out of town because I like their food. However when I called to order today the guy on the phone was extremely rude. He let out a couple of big sighs when I ordered my food without onions. Then he said he needed a minute and probably thinking I couldn't hear him he started swearing and complaining to someone about me. First time I've ever had that happen to me anywhere. Terrible customer service and for that reason I will NOT be going back. Whoever answers the phones and deals with customers should NOT be and from reading other reviews it sounds like this isn't the first time he's been rude. Something needs to be done.
China Town
Nice service and dishes. I would recommend this stir-fried shrimp and broccoli. Haven’t eaten seafood for too long... It was absolutely delicious! The shrimp were perfectly cooked, tender, and had a nice, slightly crispy texture on the outside. Broccoli was vibrant and crisp. Sauce tasted good.
I ordered this Lo Mein at this restaurant, and it was truly a taste explosion! The noodles has a toothsome texture that was neither too hard nor too soft. Sauce was a perfect blend of rich and savory, which made the dish a real treat. The addition of carrots and greens added a healthy and fresh dimension to the meal. The portions were generous, and I finished every last bit of it. I recommend this dish for anyone looking for a satisfying meal without the meat. This is a must-try for any food lover!
Panda Express
Super inconsistent on the sides. The white rice is often undercooked and the chow mein comes out mostly as cabbage. See the photo....like guys, this is not chow mein, it's cabbage with a couple noodles
The chow mein and rice was really dry.. I'm hoping it was just a one off experience. I moved away from a Panda Express location and I rarely get to eat there anymore.
Feng's Kitchen
House lomein is bomb. Best family run chinese in Waukesha. They are always fast, accurate, and friendly. I'd also recommend their beef on a stick, fried dumplings, beef with broccoli, and their sugar donuts.
This one hurts to write. I have loved Feng's for many years. It's always been top notch taste and quality. However, when I received my order, I was very disappointed. My Egg Foo Young was cooked to smithereens as well as my almost burnt Egg Roll (fried to the utmost). Rice was over cooked. Lastly, I'm being generous at 3 stars. I work too hard for my money to come back. I'll learn to make my own. I sure hope they get it together and bring back the top notch quality and not over cook the food.
Kim's Garden
The flavor was great, but the meat to veggie ratio was definitely off. We ordered the beef and cashew dish and were surprised at how little meat there was in the to-go container.
Ordered takeout, got home and our container of sweet and sour chicken was less than half full. And the chicken we did get was cold and soggy. I called and was offered to be refunded for the $3 difference between the small and large size. It was wildly inconvenient for us to not have enough food to feed our family. Would have been nice to get refunded for the amount of the chicken ($13). Not only that, but the lady on the phone was rude. The rest of the food was subpar, definitely not worth the $50 we spent. Would not recommend. Update- like many others have reported, they blocked my number. These people need a lesson on customer service.
Panda Express
The negative reviews are brutal... I hit the drive thru around 1230pm. The gal was super nice on the mic and confirmed my order. The was really friendly at the window and accommodated my request for chopsticks. I got back to my office 5 minutes away and the food was delicious.
Shout out to the great, honest staff at this location. I was there for lunch like 7 hours ago and left my wallet behind on accident. I didn’t realize it until tonight. Anyway, it’s a snowstorm and I tried calling like 5 times - but something was wrong with their phones (I could hear them, but they couldn’t hear me). A young man calls me back from his personal phone and lets me know - and I ask about my wallet. They had it in the safe! Whew! So I headed there in the storm to pick it up. And, everything was still in there as it was. Very thankful!! Also, lunch was good as usual! Always good food, service, and very clean.
New China Express Restaurant
First time here. Lady on phone is rude when I was ordering. She seemed bothered that I asked a few questions on the chicken fried rice dish. I continued to order anyways hoping the food was worth the disrespect. Food came in a timely manner. Vegetables were hard as rocks and probably lightly blanched instead of cooked. Hardly any chicken in the chicken stir fry. The fried rice has a terrible oily taste that lingers after eating it. The sweet and sour chicken was pretty good except the oil taste was too pronounced.
I ordered the chicken fried rice and crab Rangoon. While eating my rice I noticed the back of my throat starting to swell up. I didn’t think it was from the rice because I’m not allergic to anything. After about 15 minutes it went away so I continued to eat my rice and it happened again except this time it got even worse and was very hard to swallow. I’m not sure what’s in the chicken fried rice but there’s something funky in it. Crab Rangoon didn’t have enough filling.
Five rice restaurant
Different but not in a good way. I love new food & while chens is ok its really just average as chinese food goes, so despite the reviews (maybe it was teething pains i thought) I wanted to give five rice a chance. The food is very different than what is considered american chinese cuisine, & i would have been fine with if it was flavorful but it wasnt. The egg roll is more like a samaosa? a very mild curry flavor with peanut butter...the problem was the texture was just a mushy paste. The general tso chicken was cooked fine, not dry at all, but the sauce isnt a general tso sauce & wasnt flavored. It was very heavy in amount, very thick in consitency, & seemed like a tomato based sauce? And it had no spice even though it said hot. It had a slight ketchup flavor & tastes more like a cheap bbq sauce, it was ok but not good. The vegetable lo mein isnt lo mein noodles (maybe chow mein?) which i would have been ok with if they told you but they dont & the sauce wasnt lo mein flavors either, in fact it wasnt flavored at all. The vegetables were cooked well & lots of variety so that was nice but not a soy based sauce, the sauce was a thick white flour sauce (see pics) that was flavorless. My husband got chicken with pea pods, it also had nice chicken & cooked vegetables but the sauce was the same bland white sauce as on the lo mein. We couldnt figure out what the sauce was other than broth & flour maybe, not even garlic or onion. Well now i can say I tried them but unfortuatly cant say i will go again. Prices were average & no issues there. i ordered online which were the same price as in the menu we received. There is a convienece fee added with my online order but i could see that before checking out.
This was our second time here...It is a very quaint place for delicious Chinese food. I know they emphasize on carry out but their small dining room is very clean and the service is wonderful. It's now my daughter's and my favorite place. It's worth the 20 minute drive. My daughter is a picky eater and she loves the chicken with pea pods meal with the white rice. I had the Kung Pao chicken and the flavor and veggies are very good however my chicken tasted reheated. But my daughter's was delicious. Hot tea is good. I saw some of the other negative reviews but We all have a different palette, so give it a try for yourself. We will definitely be back.
Panda Express
Generally good delivery but frequently forgets fortune cookies and ordered sauces. The chili beef (crispy and slight apice) is good. Walnut shrimp on delivery was stick crunchy but less so when they mush it into a carton. I thought I'd help parents and the elderly by showing a photo of the kids meal the Cub. You can pick one side or 2 half sides. However, the vegies were quite raw, and that's unacceptable for little cubs
This was my first time at this Panda Express and everything was wonderful, starting with the friendly way I was greeted at the drive thru . After a very patient and simple explanation on how it all worked I placed my order to EDISON who kindly and accurately took my order. I received a VERY GENEROUS portion (from a smiling EDISON) of beef and broccoli, both of which were cooked to perfection. My meal was topped off with a fresh & tasty fortune cookie! The menu was extensive and the prices were reasonable. I am very impressed and look forward to returning very soon.
New China Buffet
The food was decent. The seating area is bland. Styrofoam bowls, plates, and cups with plastic silverware. Jello had no flavor and was overly firm. There was no allergy warning that there was peanut sauce being served on the third buffet. French fries were good! Sweet and about chicken pieces were fairly good. Grapes were delicious. The ladies' room made me feel extremely uncomfortable with the LAYERS of whatever is around the base of the toilet and the duct tape over the space between the stall wall and the door wall. Overall, it could be way better but could be worse. I don't think we will be back.
Did the buffet and love the variety - from basic staples to some more fun options and lots of desserts. I loved all the fresh fruit, and they even had pizza and chicken for my son. Signs could include a bit more detail about the food options on the buffet, but the staff is available to explain. Wish they were using real plates and silverware, but understand this may be cheaper than hiring additional staff. The place could use some updates to the seating area, but overall, we really enjoyed ourselves and our food.
