Panera Bread
This store specifically is the worst in the area. I'm not exaggerating at all! I used to order Panera almost every day for lunch at work as part of my weight loss but, it was the Waukesha location. My work recently relocated to a new city and now this Panera was assigned to me. I tried to keep quiet and give them chance, after chance, after chance but, nothing is improving. You can count on missing items and wrong items to be delivered. (not the delivery drivers fault). I have had to drive all the way back to pick up my items when I paid more for it all to be delivered and still had to sit and wait for items to be made that aren't even cooked. Now most recently my co-worker wanted to order Panera and since it's been almost a month since the last incident I decided to participate. Well, they skimped on all of our food and everyone's orders were missing items or just wrong. I ordered a bowl of soup because how hard is it to mess that up?? Well, it was only half full, so watery and my side is missing.
The food has been good, but the last few times I have gone there for take out they have forgotten to include part of my order. Normally I check my bag before I leave, in which case they correct the error right away, but today I was in a rush and forgot. Sure enough, when I got home, one of my items was not included. It's extremely frustrating!
Emperor's Kitchen
We've been coming to Emperor’s Kitchen for years, but I haven't yet written a review since I'm not one to generally do so. For me to review something/someplace is rather significant. I digress: EK is a fantastic spot for delicious, high-quality food with amazing service. The staff is always super friendly and pleasant. Food here always tastes "fresh"--the water chestnuts are so crunchy!--and full of flavor, with generous portions and a great variety to choose from. My family simply loves the orange chicken. It's unmatched. You won’t be disappointed. Definitely a go-to place for the best Chinese food around. I can't describe it in any other way but delicious. I know that's so generic, but seriously, it's just plain delicious.
I have to lead with that coming here on vacation from NYC, we have a lot of fantastic options for Chinese; naturally, we have high standards & expectations, which makes the following even more impressive. The family recently had the pleasure of dining at Emperor's Kitchen & I can confidently say that it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. This hidden gem is a standout when it comes to both customer service & culinary excellence. From the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted warmly by the staff. The ambiance of the restaurant is inviting & cozy w/ elegant woodwork that set the stage for a memorable meal. The service was impeccable throughout our entire meal. The waitstaff was attentive without being intrusive, offering several helpful recommendations & making sure our glasses were never empty. Now, let's talk about the food: *Each of our entrées was on par with what you'd get in Lower Manhattan in Chinatown* We know when fresh is fresh & boy, you can tell that only the freshest ingredients are used. I highly recommend the General TSO's Chicken--the sauce was among the best I've ever tasted--it was an absolute showstopper. Combined with the most ridiculous eggrolls (honestly I've never tasted an eggroll like theirs. The best I've ever tasted. Literally) Overall, Emperor's Kitchen excels not only in its top-notch authentic Chinese, but also in its outstanding customer service. It's a place where you can sit back, relax & truly enjoy a memorable dining experience. Whether you're a fan of traditional Chinese dishes or eager to try something new, this restaurant is a must-visit. I can’t wait to return. I wish they had a chain out East!
Golden Gate Restaurant
First time here. Several friends have raved about this place. It did not disappoint. Came around 6:30 on a weeknight. Plenty of open tables. The place is well maintained, well lit, and clean. Got seated right away and attended to by our server. Trisha did a great job the entire meal. So very friendly and attentive. After getting a beer and tea, we ordered our food. A eggroll that we split, shrimp egg foo young and Mu Shu Beef. Everything we ordered was fresh, hot, and generous portions. The Shrimp Egg Foo Young patties were plump with a nice crisyp edge, with sauce that was not too thick. The Mu Shu Beef had a nice combination of vegetable, beef, with the pancakes and plum sauce. Definitely a good choice for Chinese Food. The meal was great value, al less than $40. The only issue that we had was the occasional outburst of noise/cheering from the bar area. There was a sports game on the TV and apparently the bar fans were getting excited. We are not fans of TVs in restaurants.
This restaurant has come highly recommended for years and I never had the time to give it a try. Today I did and it disappointed greatly. The flavor of everything was either lacking or just off. Chicken fried rice was almost flavorless and a little undercooked. Egg drop soup tasted like hot water. Egg roll had something in it that I thought was mushy potato until I checked and saw that it was some kind of meat. Crab Rangoon had almost no filling and the shrimp dish had way too many peanuts and generally confusing texture. I wouldn't eat here again.
The Tipsy Turtle Patio and Grill
Beautiful lake views. Fun atmosphere. Great bands. Katie the server was fast and super friendly. Pizza was delicious as well as the baked and fried cod. The Reuben rolls were fantastic. Shelly Mack and the Reunion played 4/12 and are a must see. Thank you for being a fun venue with friendly staff and great food. Thanks for advertising in the Clipper Magazine. I didn't even know your place existed until I saw your add in the Clipper Magazine.😎🍕⚓🍺🎸
The place is huge with lots of room for seating. But it’s packed in there so get there early to get a table!! There isn’t really hostess to seat you or let you know anything about how seating works until you ask a bartender. We had a great time there. The garlic cheese curds are amazing!
New China
This is my new favorite place to get take out. The staff is very nice and friendly. The food is yummy and I always come back for more. Thank you for sharing your food with the world.
Very delicious food, and quick service. The staff was very friendly. It was pretty quiet, too, and all the tables and the entire restaurant was clean.
China Dragon Chinese Restaurant
Gave China Dragon a try for lunch, and I won’t be back anytime soon. The place was completely empty when I walked in, and it felt like the heat wasn’t on—pretty uncomfortable in colder weather. The dining room had a dated, tacky vibe, even by classic Chinese restaurant standards. The salt and pepper shakers looked like they hadn’t been cleaned since 1982, and there was no hot sauce available, which just added to the letdown. I ordered a lunch special, which ended up being nearly $20 with a drink. For that price, I expected a solid portion, but the plate was mostly sauce and vegetables with hardly any meat. The egg roll was especially strange—it had a sweet, cinnamon-y flavor that made it taste more like a churro than an egg roll. Not sure what was going on there, but it definitely wasn’t what I was expecting. Service was poor. The server was polite when I walked in, but once the food hit the table, his only concern seemed to be getting the check paid—not checking on the meal or offering anything else. All in all, the experience felt cold, overpriced, and neglected. There are far better Chinese spots nearby that offer tastier food, better value, and a more welcoming atmosphere.
5 Stars Hands down my favorite Chinese restaurant! The fried rice, egg rolls, and veggies are always delicious. Honestly, everything I’ve tried here has been fantastic. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. Highly recommend!
Dumpling House
The Takoyaki was delicious; it was my first time eating anything like it. I wish there were more of the sauce that goes with it so I could dunk the balls in it. The soup and tempura were terrific. When you enter the restaurant, the floor has this unique aquarium effect.
I had the soup dumplings, BBQ pork buns, beef pot stickers and chicken and corn dumplings. They brought out a dumpling soup for 2 people that was really good that they said isn't on the menu so I don't know what it was called. Everything was great. I really liked the BBQ pork buns. A good amount of filling. Try the different condiments they have. The dumpling sauce and chili oil were nice additions.
Asian Chef
Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the excellent prices!👌 👏 A quick carryout order for some family on Christmas day and night. Lots of shrimp and other meats with yummy veggies and sauce or gravy. Will be coming back often! We had shrimp fried rice qt and house special chop suey with pork and chicken and shrimp qt or dinner size...and cheese veggies and white rice pint 😋 👌 😍 was around 23? With tax...
Have always been quite satisfied with all I've ordered except for today. Had the worst shrimp in lobster sauce that I've had in any restaurant over the years of ordering. Sauce wasn't totally tasteless and no texture. Shrimp was done perfect. But no taste to the whole dish.
King's Wok
So, I walk in and the 3 cooks were either sitting at a table on their phone, or standing on their phone. They were obviously bored, weird When I got home and ate my pork fried rice, I noticed that it was barely pork fried rice. I feel like this restaurant may be hurting a little, because the meat portions were basically non existent. Check out these tiny little bits of pork😂😂 Good egg rolls though🤷🏼♂️
I tried this place for the first time today. They have lunch specials, and even though I hadn't called in an order (because they didn't answer), service was quick. My daughter wanted soup with her meal, and got an egg roll, just like I did, so was a bit disappointed. The egg rolls were delicious. Her sesame chicken was good, but my "Chicken and Chinese vegetables" didn't have any special taste. It wasn't bad, it just didn't have much flavor at all. The vegetables included a generous variety including: carrots, bamboo, cabbage, onions, water chestnuts and snow peas, and were done perfectly, not overcooked. For lunchtime, meals were served with rice included in the same container, which was handy. We will be back, but I am ordering something else.
Asia Restaurant
Very good food. It's been difficult to find Chinese food reminiscent of the past as these establishments are gone due to the owners retiring. This restaurant serves food with that same quality. We really enjoyed it. We ordered egg rolls, oriental vegetable soup, pork fried rice and sweet and sour shrimp. Almond cookies were also included in the dinner choice. The server was very nice and accommodating. We will definitely return.
Ok we went twice for Tuesday bike night & are going again on 9/17. We didn't eat , just enjoyed the band , the beautiful night & grat patio atmosphere. Strangely, there is only minimal Asian decor in the restaurant. 🤔
Chen's Gourmet Chinese Restaurant
Very bad food today. Paid extra for veggies to be in our fried rice and only got carrots. Was told the egg rolls cost more because there is 3 meats. Not at all no shrimp no pork just a few pieces of carrots and over cooked cabbage in a burnt shell. Crab ragoon WAS NOT good at all not sure what it was. They have really went down hill. Will not be back and we spent 82.00 bucks on the worst chinese food ever. We had combination fried rice, 3 baby shrimp (really) no chicken or an lil pork.
This Chinese food is great! Finally, we got around to going here and wish we had gone sooner!! We tried the egg roll (greasy, might try spring roll next time), orange chicken, and sesame chicken. All was good! We placed an order online, and a friendly employee greeted us at our car and delivered our food to us.
Harvey Moy's Chinese & American Restaurant
My husband and I stopped into Harvey Moy's for the first time and it was amazing! The server was so welcoming and friendly and the dining area was clean and well decorated. I must say I am extremely shocked - for the prices of the meals, they have HUGE portions! We ordered the egg roll and soup add on for only $3 and the egg roll was the biggest we've seen. All made fresh. We tried two different soups - Wonton and Egg Drop. While those were not our favorite (first time trying) everything else was on point. The Crab Rangoons were my favorite and we're massive. One Rangoon was the size of 2-3 typical ones elsewhere. They were stuffed with more crab than cream cheese, a true deal. We were full by the time our entrees came around! The Orange Chicken was crunchy and sweet and the Mongolian Beef with Fun Chow noodles were tasty. We brought a ton of leftovers (three containers!) back to the hotel. Outstanding flavor and service. Even more, we got a cookie with our bill!
Chinese restaurants are a dime a dozen, but there's only a few really good ones in this community, and Harvey Moy's is one of them. This restaurant is a gem in Menomonee Falls. Harvey and company have been running this place since 1962. The food is outstanding. The service is good. The ambiance is what you would expect for a Chinese restaurant, but this place has something special. The pictures on the walls of the many celebrities who have visited are a testament to the quality of this place. If you are dining in on a weekend, I would recommend making a reservation, as it can get pretty busy. Be sure to say hi to Harvey! He's very personable!
