I ordered the appetizer platter for delivery on 12/13/24. The fried shrimp was rancid and spoiled. The crab rangoon and pork dumplings were soggy and old. The barbecue pork was like jerky. The chicken wings were an odd gray color and dried up. Only the beef sticks and egg rolls were edible. I also left feedback on their website. I will never order there again.

So, I’ve never ordered from here before this and I’m extremely disappointed. Not only is it expensive (this was $21) it didn’t have any chicken in it. I ordered the orange chicken and it appears they’ve filled it with rice and literally no chicken. Next the dumplings are the laziest I’ve ever seen from an Asian restaurant. The meat literally tastes like dog food and had many fatty parts nor was the dumpling properly fried. The orange sauce was not good. I’m really tired of seeing prices for food go up and the quality of the food go down. The fact they put fillers into what’s suppose to be breaded chicken and no chicken is absurd! Just to save money. Lessen the portions if you must but please stop skimping on the quality of the food. It’s bad enough Chinese-American food is full of sugar and salt, but now you take away the protein and put in more flour, sugar, and salt?!?

A halal Indo Pak restaurant in Villa park area. We had dinner there and food is average. I felt the price is higher with the food quality and quantity. The restaurant has wide variety of menu and most were available. It’s a very good place for big groups and parties as well. Staffs were friendly

October 2024 | Saturday Nihari 2/10. Totally bland. Chicken corn soup 7/10 Would I recommend Nihari? No Update: Review stays. Mentioned this to Manager and staff member. No action was taken during our time on-site.

Customer service is very good as usual. The gentleman that takes care of the front counter is always very hospital and generous. I personally go for the fried rice, and it is usually great quality consistently every time I order, and a fair price too in this economy. Would highly recommended this place!

The triple delight was good, plenty of white rice, generous sauces, fried vegetable was good. The sweet and sour chicken was gray meat, don't know if was dark meat, but not like s&s chicken is white meat. The s&s sour sauce had no pineapple, green peppers, tomatoes or cherries. Too blan. Will not order from them again!

We were looking for something new, and we found Nuevo on Google, and we weren't disappointed. Northlake's best kept secret! The fried chicken was a tad overcooked, and the fried shrimp we still don't know what to make of that. Overall it was a good experience!

The food was terrible because it wasn’t fresh. The meat smells bad, the fruit is almost bad, and the food has no taste at all. The service sucked. They didn’t label their food, so half the time you don’t know what you’re eating. When they run out of a dish of food, we asked them to refill it and they refused because they want to save money. Not many people were there. The bathroom is dirty, and there are puddles of pee so when you try to go, you stand on pee. So use the bathroom before going to this place. Also, the stalls are covered in writing and have some “colorful language” on them. So that’s why this restaurant is only a one star.

I should have never waked away and trusted the server with my portions. This is not double orange chicken. Never coming here again

The location at 128 North Ave in Northlake sucks. They are always burning the chow mein, but worst of all is they give you small portions of food compared to the other restaurants. Today I got a bowl with Chow Mein and Kung Pao chicken. The bowl wasn't even half way full with food. Other locations will fill the plate or bowl so that you have a decent portion, this location doesn't fill anything at all. They need to retrain their staff on proper portion sizes. What they're serving is not worth what I'm paying. Update - 12/11/2024: Again their chow mein is still burnt. This place doesn't get it. It's not that hard to cook the food but they consistently burn it. You can smell and see that its burnt but they keep doing it. How are the managers not seeing this and teaching them how to properly cook food? You can clearly see scorch marks and black parts on the food.

This panda on HARLEM&CERMAK ish is good but they need to cook the rice well again like they used to it's too sticky and it's in balls like knots it needs to be separated it's rice also the chicken seemed ok but looked like it needed a bit more time on the skillet I know it gets busy but it's food and it needs attention and delicacy. At times they do have attitudes but over all food always good until now but needs work

Ordered a bowl, Noodles & Teriyaki chicken. The noodles were over cooked & chicken under cooked. Service was only fair 😔 Couldn't eat it🤢

There was a hair in my food.

This place is amazing. I go out of my way to come here. Best bourbon chicken I’ve had. Much better than the mall and portion size is very generous.

Pretty cold inside but it's the castle, that can be forgiven. Food is always a 10/10. Smoke a blunt and head to white castle is my weekly ritual. Then I go home and play some Super Smash Bros. Melee 💜

Not very clean serve old and dropped food rude to customers and homeless doesn’t change gloves between jobs grease isn’t changed as suppose to disrespectful to people with disabilities

New Star Restaurant

Where do I begin? I visited the hibachi grill for the dinner experience on October 11 as a surprise birthday gift from a friend. It was my first time at a hibachi restaurant, and I was blown away by the experience. The atmosphere was lively and vibrant, filled with the sounds of sizzling grills and laughter. The chef was incredibly entertaining, expertly flipping food, creating amazing flame tricks, and engaging with diners throughout the meal. The highlight of the night was not just the performance but also the food—the flavors were out of this world! Each dish was a delightful masterpiece, cooked to perfection right in front of us. The combination of fresh ingredients and skillful preparation made for a truly unforgettable meal. After such an amazing experience, I made a promise to myself that I would return soon to partake in these delicious festivities again. I did just that on December 22, and once again, it did not disappoint. The food was just as mouthwatering as I remembered, and the service was impeccable; the staff was attentive without being intrusive. The restaurant was spotless, which added to the overall positive dining experience. Everything seemed to run like a well-oiled machine, and I couldn't help but appreciate the efficiency with which the entire operation was handled. I left feeling satisfied and eager for my next visit!

One word: AMAZING!!!! I’m always reluctant to try new hibachi spots because we are loyal to another spot that will remain unnamed LOL. However, after today I am a believer!!! Johnny made the best meal ever for our birthday dinner !!! And was also entertaining!! New Star does not disappoint !! If you’re hesitant don’t be!! Go!! The food is so delicious from start to finish!!! You also get a lot of food for your dollar!! I’m impressed and so happy we came here!! I can’t wait to come back with more people!!

Tasty China

First time here. We are desperate to find an economical choice for Chinese food that is healthy, consistent, and doesn't rip us off. We ordered our first test dishes, and were not disappointed. The egg foo young had a decent amount of shrimp, was moist inside, crispy outside, and not floating in grease. The second dish was Pepper Steak. The meat was tasty, perhaps not as tender as other places, but acceptable. The fermented black bean sauce was a bit on the "wuss" side. It had some taste, but missing that special pungent kick you expect. Shrimp fried rice was plentiful, not bad tasting, and not greasy. Egg rolls were a decent size and tasty, but missing that all-important peanut butter! We will go back and try our round two test dishes. Stay tuned...

7:05 pm ... advertised as being open till ten Edit: Despite having this experience I would still highly recommend this establishment. Every time they have given me food it has been delicious. Admittedly I usually get either some variety of the chow fun or fried rice. But every time the meat is perfect, the noodles are soft but not overcooked, and the veggies are crisp but cooked enough. Seasoned just right.

Wow! The Sichuan string beans were amazing and the highlight dish. Crispy, salty, and just the right amount of spice. Plenty for two people to share. The dry chili chicken was amazing…spicy, crispy, and not oily or greasy. Noodles were hand pulled and perfectly cooked. Amazing flavors. Super friendly service. Cozy ambiance. I loved our visit. We will definitely return to further explore the menu.

They offer pretty good selection of Sichuan food. And the dishes tasted very similar or most the same with Chengdu Impression (the Lincoln Park one, Wacker Park one was not really good), and it turned out they are the same chain. The only downside is the place is a bit crowed. Will come back to try more dishes.

Golden Chef Chinese Kitchen

I ordered a Chicken Kow that is basically chicken with mixed vegetables, and I asked if I could have it with Black Bean Sauce and Spicy. Black Bean Sauce is like the dark sauce they would use for a Mongolian beef. And when I got home with the order I picked up I got this watery ass soup almost worth some soggy ass vegetables and it looked disgusting. I called them back right away and they said they had a new cook and next time they would ask a different cook to make the order the way I wanted. I don't think there will be a next time.

I've been getting delivery here for months now. The prices aren't bad, but the food has declined. I hate to say that the Wonton soup used to be a weekly staple for me, but as of the last 2-3 months a recipe change has happened and I'm not very fond of it. I will say the same thing about the quality of the rice, as well as the Mongolian Beef. It used to be prepared much better with so much flavor and heat, but now it's a shadow of it former self. I'm assuming there was a chef change at some point earlier this year. In my opinion if you can't get the last chef back, then find a new one. Everything was bland this time, the meals have progressively gotten worse. My soup tasted like water and the Wontons were under seasoned. I would recommend Wok You Want if you don't mind spending a little more, or really for anyone looking for a better place.
