New China Buffet
Great Experience & Overall a 4 & 4 corner star, almost a full 5 star, we just chose a day where a big group comes once a month so not a big knock on what they did or could do better on, wide range of foods & very fresh & hot, strongly recommended this place if you like an Asian Buffet. I will go for dinner next time after trying the lunch buffet. Had pizza, fries, fish, wings, asian sweet & sour chicken, fried rice, pepper chicken w/ broccoli, crab Rangoon, eggrolls, ice cream, different cakes & brown’s. Beware & hopefully you don’t mind eating off styrofoam plates, and plastic silverware, The freshness makes up for that.
1st timer here. Walked in and the cashier takes my payment and hands me a styrofoam cup. Doesnt say anything. I told her Ive never been here before. She gets upset and points and says, "Its all help yourself." To which I told her, "I wasnt sure if you seat guest but I guess you just turn us loose. Thank you." The food was barely warm. Its made in bulk and sits in deep wells on that steam table. At least if they were in shallow dishes you'd know they make it fresh more often. The rangoon was old and chewy. All the sauces tasted the same. The worst thing they serve is the "Fried" Rice. That rice seemed like it never touched oil to fry. It was more like dehydrated rice they added water to and set it out. I guess I shouldnt have expected much once I saw stacks of Styrofoam plates, bowls as well as plastic utensils. This has to be the worst Chinese Buffet experience Ive ever had. I work nationwide and Ive been to places that, compared to this, this place shouldnt even be open. I came, I tried....NOT AGAIN.
San Fong
This has been our favorite Chinese restaurant for many years. The food is delicious! Today is the last time I will order from them. I ordered $82 of food & tipped $18. The delivery person just dumped the bag of food in front of the door & didn’t ring the bell. Normally I have to sign a receipt. The food was cold by the time I noticed it. I ordered two orders of boneless Chinese fried chicken 13b from the menu — they sent bone-in chicken wings instead. The fried dumplings sauce spilled all over the food & paper bag. It ruined the almond cookies & rice & made a gross sticky mess of all the sauce packets & food. I called to ask them to redeliver the boneless chicken, cookies, rice & a sauce container. They transferred me to 4 different people! The final guy asked to call me back. They called about 10x, let it ring once & hung up. I was told to email pictures of my order to a weird email address which came back undelivered twice. All I wanted was what I ordered. EDIT: Woke up this morning & found a bag in front of the door. Who knows when it was delivered (It was at least 1,5 hours after I called to complain) because they never rang the bell! You have lost a long-time customer for the TERRIBLE service. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM SAN FONG AGAIN!
I was nervous to order from here based on the reviews, but I did and I was really impressed. I ordered take out and tried the sweet and sour chicken, honey chicken, crab rangoon, egg fried rice with vegetables, and a vegetable egg roll. Everything was hot and fresh. I liked this place more than the other local places that have better reviews. I had to leave a review because I think you should give it a try!
Island Noodles WI
Honestly, I feel like this place could be better under different circumstances. We tried the vegan noodles at Mopop because there weren't many other places with vegan options. The noodles were fine, but the sauce left a film in our mouths & the veggies were raw- not to mention the carrots were full baby carrots... not cut or sliced in any way. I get that they were busy and probably short on supplies, so I gave 2 stars instead of the 1 star experience we had.
$16 for a basic to go container full of noodles veggies and chicken covered in the worst teriyaki sauce. Don't even have good sriracha... 10$ value
HONG KONG EXPRESS
Only thing worth coming here for is the lunch special. Other than that, it's pretty overpriced. The food is average at best. Sometimes the vegetables are not good and the onion/cabbage pieces are EXTREMELY large and nearly inedible. The beef is normally 90% just onions. Other times, it's much better. The fried chicken quality is just awful, stay away from that. Portions are great. Service could be better - you'll usually wait for a while to order and the employees will walk past you and ignore you regularly.
I've been a regular for about 6 months now and I have no other place I would go for it. I grew up in Chicago and I have been to many restaurants in my 50yr life, but I have never had a place that I couldn't replace, so for me to be this loyal to a restaurant and write a review, it's saying a lot for this restaurant. I don't claim to be a expert but I do have experience and I only had one other restaurant that I would say the same thing about. I highly recommend this establishment, the amount of excellent food for the great prices is why it stays busy. I'm telling all my coworkers and friends to go there and eat everything they can, it's worth it. God bless and enjoy every day.
Wow Bao - (Inside Fazoli's)
The food was pretty good. The baos were good and had a good amount of filling. Was nice to have something different than the normal pizza/Chinese take-out we do lol. The chicken ginger pot stickers were the best out of everything. So flavorful! The Kung pao chicken bowl I got wasn't bad but wasn't great either. And it only had 4 little pieces of chicken. I thought some of the reviewers were exaggerating but no, they weren't. I'd come back for the baos and potstickers.
Baos were good. Ginger chicken Potstickers could have been a pan fried a little longer and were lacking in color and didn't have a lot of flavor to them. (They almost tasted off?) The bowl was awful. Rice was made with too much water so it was gummy and flavorless. The scoop of teriyaki chicken was mostly sauce and veggies which further watered down the already depressingly bad rice. The taste of the teriyaki chicken was good, though. Overall- Just order the bao. Lesson learned.
Wok Downtown | Nickel & Dime Asian Street Food
I had alright expectations for this place. I try to give the less popular or poorly-reviewed places a chance to redeem themselves. I was very dissapointed. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken entree, and all of the chicken was raw. The breading was still liquid, while falling off the meat. The rice was fine, and so was the service because it was very prompt and polite, but I guess thats because they didnt cook the chicken long enough. I will not be coming back, and I dont recommend this establishment to anyone.
It is just literally not good. Got the Teriyaki Bourbon chicken. It is swimming in liquid yet so dry. Even $10 is too much for this canned chicken. Would not be surprised if this is the next place at 3 rd street market to close.
San Dong Express
I placed an order for pickup at San Dong, consisting of three meals: 2 beef chow mein, 1 orange beef, and three egg rolls. The service was fine, and the food was ready within the promised ten minutes. However, the quality of the food was extremely disappointing. It lacked flavor and had an unpleasant texture, with the contents of the containers forming a gelatinous clump. Despite giving it a chance, none of us could finish the meal, as it tasted bland and unappealing. Unfortunately, we had to throw away $53 worth of food and decided we won’t be returning. I wouldn't eat here again and highly advise trying somewhere else.
We live over 2 hours from Milwaukee. When we occasionally visit,San Dong is our go to dinning place.Food is always excellent, it's cool to see the cooks at work while ordering.I like to try a different dish, but usually order my favorite, twice cooked pork.We generally order a couple extra dinners,to take home with us.
Anmol Restaurant - Milwaukee
We entered the restaurant and a man near the counter said we could order from the kiosk for dine-in. Half way through ordering, we were encouraged by a different man to sit at a table and he would take our order. After ordering, the food came out reasonably quick and as it was ready. The food was all delicious, but we realized towards the end of the meal that we received the wrong type of Naan. While the Naan was good, this mistake probably would have been avoided if we had just ordered from the kiosk to begin with. We'll definitely be back to try Anmol again in the future.
If you haven't tried Anmol Restaurant, you are missing out! Our experience and food was fantastic. We got the Punjabi Samosa, Bihari Kabab Roll, the Anmol platter and a sweet mango Lassi. The meats were so tender and juicy, very spicy but not over powering the flavors of each dish. I would say the Bihari Kabab Roll was my favorite, it was prepared to perfection. The service was phenomenal and fast! I did want to mention a highlight of our experience; before our food even came out, me and my partner were served Kashmiri tea and a free appetizer platter each (by who I am assuming was the owner). He said he gave it to us because they had just completed their daily Ramadan fast, it was extremely thoughtful of him! We had just stumbled upon this restaurant by luck after our original dinner plans had fell apart. We will certainly return and we've already recommended it to several of our friends in the Milwaukee area. Bihari Kabab Wrap and the Amnol platter is what is displayed in my photos.
青岛 Tsing Tao Chinese Restaurant
This used to be a great place to order Chinese food, really the only place in the area. With that said the quality has gone downhill. I ordered over 100 bucks in food. Sesame chicken, and chicken and broccoli with egg rolls. This was for a friend’s birthday, I figured would give them another try, it’s been low quality for some time. The sesame chicken was only about half the container, not what we paid for! The chicken and broccoli was ALL BROCCOLI! No flavor no seasoning very dry, with no sauce! I understand that times are hard with the economy. That’s no excuse we all work hard for our money! I would rather pay more for better quality if that is the case. Shame on them for taking peoples hard earned money, giving them poor quality food! I will be traveling further to spend that kind of money elsewhere!
*SEAFOOD ALLERGY * EGG ROLLS HAVE SHRIMP* Don't take the chance. 🤢 This place is not worth the price even if there's a half off deal. The food is super soggy, greasy and so bland. Nothing really has a taste but the sweet and sour sauce. Which came in a take out box. That was extremely hot and leaking. Ive never seen a condiment in a take out box before. We asked for utensils and didn't receive those. We won't be giving this place a third chance. Gross 🤢
