China Garden Restaurant
We were in Indianapolis for a week and I was craving Chinese food. China Garden came to the rescue. It was a solid meal. Yes, it's not as authentic as I'm used to, but it did the trick. We ordered hot & sour soup, General Tso's Chicken, and their Szechuan Combination. The two ladies managing the front of the house were extremely nice and friendly.
Breading is soggy, and the chicken tastes purely of onion. One of the worst sesame chickens I've had. I ordered two large white rices and they just have me one giant tub instead of two seperate orders. Bad and lazy.
China King II
Sincerely the best Chinese food in the city. The food is always hot, and served in heaping portions, enough for lunch tomorrow! And the crab Rangoons are to die for š
Very unique spins on ātraditional Chinese foodā that Iām accustomed to, but the yellow fried rice isnāt bad but lacking in vegetables. The kung pao chicken pictured below had wayyy too many vegetables and not enough chicken and not enough chilies. š¶ļø Had slight spice but didnāt have that taste Iām used to. Again thatās me but also the sweet and sour chicken being separate was interesting almost like tempura chicken, looked like chicken nugget in the inside too not real white meat
Hongkong Chinese Restaurant
Whoever made this Singapore Mei fun needs a raise, it's good other times too but time it was better. Nor too spicy, the noodles were perfectly cooked. This is my default Chinese food place in town.
The texture of the bean curd was phenomenal. Good service, plenty of seating. Crunchy veggies. I recommend
China & Thai Cuisine
Great little restaurant hidden within a shopping plaza on the Southside. Great atmosphere with very friendly people. Elena the owner along with her husband are exceptionally friendly. The food was fabulous and plentiful. We ordered shrimp Egg Foo Yung, Chicken with Broccoli combination and General Tso's chicken combination and the Won Ton Soup. All were delicious. And the atmosphere at Christmas time is fun with all the decorations surrounding the tiny place. Will definitely be returning.
A small hole in the wall Asian restaurant. Tight quarters but good food. Making use of the space available to them. Always ordering to go. I love the Pad Thai noodles with a little extra spice. Also, I have enjoyed the crab ragoons, fried dumplings, and chicken on a stick. Food has always been made fresh, and piping hot.
Egg Roll Number 1
Terrible experience not worth my commute. I was in the mood for a quick bite and something warm considering the freezing temperatures outside, so I ordered the chicken pho with beef broth , spring rolls, Singapore noodles, shrimp fried rice and sweet and sour chicken for myself and a friend. At first I thought the food would be good because it smelled fragrant enough and was still being made fresh upon arrival. Staff even emphasized how they included free crab Rangoons in the order at our convenience but I discovered the real reason why later. Fast forward to me bringing my pick up order home, I noticed that not only were the spring rolls completely burnt and dried out, but a corroded piece of greasy, dirty, black plastic was in my pho that I originally mistook for a burnt green onion when putting the ingredients into the broth. I am so thankful that I didnāt consume it because it would have cut up my throat or worse. The āfreeā crab rangoons were obviously put in the bag to make up for the burnt spring rolls - why not just make a new order instead of choosing to be lazy and pass this off onto customers. The Singapore noodles were bland at best and the shrimp fried rice was mushy with rancid tasting shrimp. I wasted about $50. Horrible business practice and to make matters worse they were closed by the time I came to realize all of this, and the phone lines have been busy all day, so I couldnāt even speak to anyone if I wanted. itās a NEVER AGAIN for me.
Food is REALLY GOOD and for AWESOME prices. Have been back a couple times now and everything has been really tasty. Came here with my finance and we were able to get two big bowls of pho, big plate of crab rangoons, 2 spring rolls, and a plate of sesame chicken with rice all for only like $45. Needles to say we had lots of leftovers to take home. Food comes out very quick and staff is very nice and responsive. We came close ish to closing time as we both worked late. They didnāt rush us or push us out at all (we still tried to not stay too long as they were starting to clean up and we didnāt want To keep them too long).
Panda Express
The Panda Express restaurant I visited was exceptionally well-appointed and presented a visually appealing dining experience. The service was impeccable, and the portion sizes were generous and the food was both flavorful and fresh.
Why do you have to ask for teriyaki sauce for the teriyaki chicken, it's just grilled chicken with out the sauce, Melody told me that it is marinated in sauce, but it tastes like grilled chicken...its not teriyaki chicken without the sauce, as you can see I frequent panda often...never had to ask for sauce for teriyaki...other sauce, yes,but not teriyaki...its ok tho...I will go to my regular panda on Southport and Emerson, 4 minutes further and no hassle with the orders...thanks again for a sauceless entree..
Side Wok Cafe
I hate to write a poor review but these reviews often guide my choices. As my grandpa would say "I've been to that restaurant two times: my first time and my last time." My food was greasy. I had to legit wrap napkins around my egg roll and squeeze before I could eat it. I ordered the BBQ boneless ribs (Char Siu) combo dinner which includes entree, fried rice, and egg roll. The BBQ had a real kick to it but Char Sui is never served spicy in other Chinese restaurants. I couldn't eat much of it so I ate the fried rice and the aforementioned greasy egg roll instead. My hunger for Chinese biscuits to go overcame my good judgment (greasy egg roll example) and not surprisingly they were greasy and overcooked. There are other amazing Chinese restaurants, I would consider those. Won't be back to this place ever.
We are frequent Side Wok visitors. Typically, I get the same thing every time - general tso's (medium heat), and an order of steamed pork dumplings. I have never had a problem with my order when I've made special requests. I find that the service is always quick and kind.
Bamboo House
As soon as I walked in, it looked run down, but that let's you know it's good. The food was fresh and really delicious. You really need to try this place. They'll hand you a menu so they have a lot more than what is shown.
I love the Pho soup, the broth was full of flavor, noodles cooked to perfection and just the right amount of meat. Spring rings are fresh and crisp and not oily. The owner and his family are super nice and welcoming. Love to support a local family working hard. A++++ Definitely will be back.
Chang Fu Restaurant
This was my first time ordering from this place because my friend recommended it, but the service was subpar. The lady on the phone seemed rushed and repeatedly asked, āIs that it?ā I was trying to make sure I was ordering the right item, but she replied, āYes, yes, it will be done in 15 minutes,ā and then hung up. I ordered Chicken Chow Mein, but as you can see from the photo, I didnāt receive what I ordered. When I called to ask about it and clarified that I had indeed ordered the right food (and was willing to pay again), I was told, āYes, that was the right order,ā and she checked three times.
I really enjoy this restaurantās egg rolls! They also have great drawings on the wall. The workers are also really nice too, their English is not the perfect but understandable. I enjoy going to this chinese restaurant since they are close at hand. Definitely would come again!
King Dragon
Good food. About $10 per meal. Small family ran restaurant. Combo meals $10 each basically. 4 tables with 4 chairs. Very large portions.
The clerk who answered the phone š wasnāt a nice person, she was impatient and somewhat rude. BUT, the dishes were very good. We had a lot of different foods we wanted to try. ( this was our first time there) We had Mongolian beef combo, Shrimp š¦ with Lobster sauce, Pork eggfood young w/ extra gravy, Orange chicken, Shrimp fried rice w/ extra shrimp, 4 egg rolls, and of course Crab rolls. This all came up to 80+ $. I would recommend this establishment for the tasty dishes served. I didnāt like the Mongolian beef because the meat was spongy and wouldnāt really break up when chewing. That was the only thing I didnāt like with family agreeing. Oh yeah, and the mean phone woman lol. Itās a good place for good food.
WOK & ROLL CHINESE RESTAURANT
i only come in once every couple weeks & the girl during lunch hour always remembers my order and is the sweetest. the food is always great! i would come WAY more often if i was able!!
We took a chance since we were on this side of town and were hungry for Chinese food so found Wok & Roll, a very typical takeout place. We wanted to dine in since we were not close to home the cashier was very nice and we ordered the Hunan Chicken and my boyfriend ordered the Moo Goo Gai Pan. We were pleasantly surprised and the food was delicious, too bad we live in Westfield definitely will check them out again!!
China Star
China Star is not the best food we've ever had. But they are pretty good and by far, not the worst. Some things are better than others. Of course personal tastes also come into play. We have tried them more than once and haven't regretted it. Yes some things are only okay. But some things are very good. Again, it depends on your personal taste. Prices seem on par with other similar restaurants. They are convenient to us, so they get a little extra slack. The restaurant seems adequately clean. And service seems good. So I guess I could recommend giving them a try.
The food was fresh & tasted good. I got General Tso' chicken. It wasn't bad ; it was just too crunchy. I've had better in other places. I have eaten other items that were good. I would eat here again.
