First of all, let's give a HUGE shout out to businesses like Wan Shung that are open on Xmas Day to serve the customers that don't feel like cooking on this day! I got there today at 11:10am and this was my first time seeing the parking lot damn near packed! Go ahead and get that Xmas bag, Wan Shung!! I knew I was not going to cook a dern thing all day, so I had 2 orders of General Tso's chicken and a small order of boneless spare ribs. I mainly order those 2 when I go here. I've sampled some other items on their menu and never had a problem with the taste or order. They have closed their dine in area since Covid blew up on the scene last year. They do have 3 seats in the area where you order. While waiting for my order today, we were pleasantly amused with the singing of the staff's children singing Christmas carols on the other side of the wall in the old dining area. I've been coming to this location for over 12 years and will continue to frequent this location.

The first time I ordered from this place, I asked for honey shrimp, which was not on their menu. They agreed to make it for me šŸ‘Today is the second time I ordered from them and everything is excellent! So, I left a glowing review for this place before, but I have come back to change it. I just called to place another order for pick up, and I was told that I have to go online and place it through an app like uber eats. So, just to order food from this restaurant, you have to pay a fee to a third party app. I'm not going to drive there to go inside to place my order and wait, rather than ordering before going there, just to avoid paying a fee. Ridiculous.

A few days ago, my husband and I went grocery shopping, and by lunchtime, we decided to grab a quick bite at a small restaurant hunankitchen nearby. We kept it simple and ordered two dishes—one chicken vegetable and one beef vegetable —served with fried rice and a spring roll. The service was impressively quick, and the food was fresh and delicious. The portions were very generous—one plate was more than enough for one person, leaving us completely satisfied. What stood out was how reasonably priced everything was, making it a great value for money. It was the perfect spot for a quick, hearty, and affordable lunch. Definitely a hidden gem worth revisiting!

Lots of choices on the menu, including combination specials available every day. I got a large portion of Roast Pork Lo Mein for only $9.99 with a refreshing Red Tea Boba. Very nice and friendly staff.

This newly opened Chinese restaurant is fantastic! The food is not only delicious but also beautifully presented. The soup dumplings are a must-try—some of the best I’ve had in a while. The appetizers were also impressive. As for the entrĆ©es, the stir-fried lobster with peppercorn really stood out—it was a delightful surprise! (But I think this one need to order ahead of time)

RH Bistro – Soft Opening Experience (4/11/25) I had the chance of attending the soft opening of RH Bistro, and my first impression was very positive. The ambiance is warm and stylish, exuding a welcoming yet sophisticated vibe. The dining areas are spacious and well-appointed, with comfortable seating and elegant tableware. A central bar area—though not yet operational—hints at future potential for lively gatherings. Despite being a soft opening, the restaurant was surprisingly packed, a testament to the buzz surrounding this new spot. Service, as expected during this phase, had some delays, and the waitstaff were still familiarizing themselves with the menu. That said, they were exceptionally friendly and eager to accommodate. Now, onto the food. We ordered the following dishes: - Pork Soup Dumplings - Spicy Beef and Tripe Slices - Tibetan Cumin Lamb - Kung Pao Cashew Shrimp - Tilapia Fillet with Pickled Vegetables Soup - Mushroom Fried Rice with Truffle Overall, I’d rate the food a 9/10—great for a soft opening, with room to refine a few details. Must-try dishes include the Spicy Beef and Tripe Slices, Soup Dumplings, and the Truffle Mushroom Fried Rice. The menu offers many intriguing options, and I’m already looking forward to returning to explore more. RH Bistro shows great promise—excellent food, a chic atmosphere, and attentive (if still learning) service. If this is just the beginning, I can’t wait to see how they evolve.

Kungfu Kitchen in Alexandria is absolutely phenomenal! The food is bursting with flavor, and every bite feels like a culinary masterpiece. The dishes are crafted with such attention to detail, and the presentation is top-notch. The black dumplings were not only unique but incredibly delicious, with a perfect balance of texture and filling. The stir-fried pork dish was packed with fresh ingredients, bold spices, and the perfect amount of heat. The service was excellent, and the ambiance of the restaurant added to the experience. It’s rare to find a place where every single aspect, from taste to atmosphere, exceeds expectations, but Kungfu Kitchen manages to do it effortlessly. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for authentic, high-quality Asian cuisine. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

Can’t get enough of their steamed chicken dumplings! Look at the consistency! These were taking on different days and times over the last couple of months. The cucumber salad is great too! Highly recommend, especially if you’re looking for a more laid back environment

This evening I placed an online order for cucumber salad, fried dumplings and noodles. Once I started eating the dumplings I felt hair in my mouth! Looked down and saw not one, but TWO strands of hair in my food. After running to the restroom I immediately called New China Taste. I told her what happened and she asked me ā€œwhat would you like me to do?ā€ I was surprised at the dismissive response I received. Rather than addressing my concern with an apology or offering a replacement, it felt as though I was bothering her and the issue was brushed aside. Finding hair in a dish is unpleasant enough, but the lack of empathy and being dismissed made it worse. The lack of basic hygiene standards is unacceptable. The individual working tonight at New China Taste showed a lack of care for their customers’ experience. I would think twice before returning or recommending it to others. I’m eagerly waiting a response from management.

I've lived off of Richmond Hwy my whole 46yrs and have only had good Chinese food from 2 establishments in the area until now! My friend tagged me in her pic and I had to try it on my own. Well she didn't tell a lie! The shrimp fried rice was the BEST EVER!! I couldn't stop thinking about it and went back 3days later..same order but add shrimp egg foo young! Amazing!!! You have to try them!!!

Eastern Restaurant 0

Not the poshest restaurant, but the food is quite good. I didnt feel like they actually want you to sit here and eat, even thought they have seating, and they don't allow you to use the restroom either, apparently it's always out of order. The portions are huge, and they have a large selection of dishes. The lunch and dinner combos are well worth it. The last time I had the Eggrolls, it wasn't cooked inside, and the Chicken & Rice Soup was just bland. My first experience was much better than the second, but I will be going back.

Best decision I made today was reconnecting to Chinese food again thanks to Eastern!! Not only are the deals and service amazing but the quality and taste of the food is phenomenal not to mention the quantity of the food is just mind blowing. I went for lunch and the first thing I noticed was how clean it was, I mean spick and span. As I walked up to pick up my food I was greeted with such kindness. I definitely will be coming here more now that I’m able to eat Chinese again!! Mind you this is Lunch size portion Hunan tofu with fried rice.

Sampan Cafe is such a gem! I came here many times and food always delicious! They also have the best dim sum in town! Very fresh and tasty! I love this place 10/10

A traditional Cantonese restaurant with pleasant and comfortable decor. The restaurant features several private party rooms of various sizes, which is a great touch. It's perfect for friends' gatherings or business dinnings, offering privacy and even karaoke for added fun. The food here is a feast for the senses, with an impressive presentation, aroma, and taste. There are quite a few dishes featuring high-end ingredients, which elevate the dining experience. If you're looking for a restaurant to enjoy a cozy meal with friends or colleagues, with top-notch ingredients and a prestigious atmosphere, this place is an excellent choice. --- Hope this meets your needs!

I love Peter Chang and what he’s done for authentic Chinese food, so I’ve been on a mission to try one of his restaurants wherever I go. This time it was the Peter Change in McLean, which is the Tysons Corner area. I went with friends who also appreciate the authentic flavors of Szechuan food and was promptly seated for lunch on a weekday. A side note – by the time we left, the place was packed! So, make reservations! Our server, Christine W was AMAZING! She did an EXCELLENT job explaining the menu and was very enthusiastic about the various items we needed a further description of. I told her about some items I normally get at other Peter Chang locations and she gave me a rundown of what I might like. She also explained that each location does have slightly different items, based on their local chefs. But she also said that there are certain items that are staples at all his restaurants, such as Bamboo Fish. We started with hot tea and she advised they have a few to choose from, to which we chose Jasmine, which was excellent! Next up was their cucumbers. This is another item that many Szechuan places have, but each style varies. Here they used a heavy amount of sesame oil which really made it taste great! We also choose their Dan Dan Noodles, which were more of a peanut-paste style sauce, rather than a minces pork sauce. They were good, but not exactly what I expected. We also got their bubble scallion pancake which was so very tasty! For entrĆ©es they have a dish called Spicy Beef Rice Crispy which isn’t at all what you might think based on the name, it’s a ā€œbowlā€ made of rice and hardened to be a single, crispy rice bowl. The idea is the beef has such a spice to it, that you pluck off pieces of the crisp rice to eat with it and balance the heat from the stir fried beef. The beef was so very tender and flavored so very nicely! We also got an order of Bamboo Fish, because this is one of the popular things Peter Chang does perfectly at all locations! They use flounder here, like the others and it was perfect! Other items we tried were the Signature House Braised Pork Belly as well as the Dry Spicy Combo Hot Pot with all three proteins; shrimp, beef, and chicken – Another excellent items with lots of flavor!! Everything was excellent and as I mentioned, the service was incredible! Definitely would return and highly recommend stopping in for a unique, authentic experience!

Very comfortable for lunch. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The shrimp cake was good and the flounder with mustard greens was delicious. The lettuce wraps (not pictured) were fine, but not as special as the other two. Because it depends on what you order, I could only give four stars. However, it's worth going and trying this wonderful flounder!

Today I worked near this area and I came here to try the food and it is definitely delicious, I recommend it, especially the very friendly staff.😃

Great food, great service, great price. Called in a large lunch order, and I didn’t give them much time to prepare it. I arrived and waited maybe 5 minutes before two large bags came out of the back with my order ready to go. I delivered it to my luncheon on time and the people, loved the food. Can’t go wrong with Hunan Express in McLean.

This has been our go to place for years. This afternoon was a bit disappointing but, I believe that is due to my forgetting that the General Tso's hadn't ever been that spicy at this location. Not a bad thing, however, the spicy is what I personally crave. I will say, this was our first time ordering online. The owner called me because my address was a 20 min drive away and she wanted to make sure I didn't place an order at the wrong place. I appreciated the care she put into her customers to actually ask that question. That alone would give this place 5 stars every time This afternoon we tried a number of new dishes in preparation for this review: Lobster lo mein: strong seafood scent and flavor. Wasn't terrible, but would fill a seafood craving: 7/10 Spicy Tangy Dumplings Szechuan Style: just dumplings hanging out in chili oil. Never spicy enough, flavor was good though: 8/10 Pork with Garlic Sauce: garlic...bout it. 6/10 Pork Peking Style: the main reason I took pictures, Google made it seem like the crispy skin was a factor. This is absolutely not the case. Flavor was fine, my own expectations got in the way so I'll give it 6/10

I honestly don't know how they have 4 stars. I ordered orange chicken and wontons. Both tasted like they were day old and reheated. You know how Chinese food is when reheated, chewy and tasteless. The only thing fresh was my fortune cookie and rice. I also asked to use the bathroom and they told me it was in use... The entire time I sat waiting for my food it apparently was in use. They would have been better off telling me they didn't have a bathroom for public use. The lady however was nice and addressed me by name. That's why I have 4 stars for service, minus one for the bathroom lie. I'm sorry but Chinese food should always be served fresh that day, not from the previous day.

I’ve been coming to HoD for over 20 years — they still got it!! The rainbow thin rice noodles are delicious and so is the Szechuan green beans!

We checked on House of Dynasty online and it had good reviews. The prices were somewhat high but I thought that meant the food was good. Otherwise, they wouldn’t charge so much. We ordered carry out for pickup. When we got to the restaurant my husband went down to pick up the order. He got back to the car and was very excited. He said the smell of the food in the restaurant was good, it seemed busy inside even though it was around 3pm on a Sunday, and the staff was friendly. He was so happy he even brought a carry out menu for next time. Well, there will not be a next time from House of Dynasty. The chicken corn soup, which was enough for 1 person, looked a weird yellow color and the taste was off. I couldn’t taste chicken or corn. The rest of the food was okay, if I had gotten it from a buffet. It tasted and seemed not freshly made. The meal was definitely not worth the $90 it cost. They charge for the hot chili oil and if you want fried rice instead of white rice it is an additional $4.80. My stomach was not happy with the meal and I immediately threw out the carry out menu.
