visiting Wanna Bao? Good food and a chill space! My family and I went in a rainy day which proved to be the best time to try out Wanna Bao. It wasn’t too packed, or too loud and parking was easy despite what the other reviews said. For the food: Spicy popcorn chicken: 10/10. Beware it IS spicy. Red oil dumplings: 7/10 the oil was on point! Shanghai Chili Lettuce Wrap: 8/10 This dish was solid! Shredded Chicken in Spicy Garlic Sauce: 6/10 flavor was there, not spicy and a safe choice. Shrimp dumplings: 8/10 I enjoyed the outer crispy underneath consistency. Nutella Dumpling dessert: 8/10 different and tasty. Over all, Wanna Bao did not disappoint!

This restaurant was absolutely one of the best Asian restaurants I have been to. We had a party of 13 and everything that was ordered was delicious from the scallion pancakes to the duck, general tso's chicken, soup dumplings, fried rice, cucumber salad and on and on. The waiter was extremely cordial. Will definitely be going back!!!

The Rice Box 0

The Rice Box

Rice Box is a really cool take on Chinese Takeout with a modern twist. The inside is simple but modern, with the neon aesthetic permeating throughout. The staff is younger, but nice and by no means hipster nerds. They are extremely helpful. The food is flavorful and amazing, if you want more traditional or American Chinese fare they have you covered. It’s located in the heart of Rice Village so you already know parking is limited. At worst, you might have to use the village parking garage. While you are there check out the boutique shopping and give small businesses your patronage.

This was my first trip to the Rice Box after passing it by for many months. I was very shocked at the futuristic design. It almost gave me Total Recall 2099 vibes. The concept is super cute! Love the design of the menu and even how the water station is set up. They offer sparkling and flat at no additional charge. I ordered take out for my meeting and the food was delicious and held its heat for my additional 20 minute ride to the meeting. They even packaged everything to perfection! The Rice Box is definitely worth returning to and bringing all my peeps. I may even recommend we have our next meeting or networking event there!

Lao Sze Chuan has delicious food served in a clean and trendy establishment. They have a wide ranging menu with fair prices. The pork soup dumplings were great with a perfectly steamed outside to piping hot flavorful broth on the inside. The sesame chicken had a nice sweet and spicy flavor and I felt it was not over breaded. The staff was very nice and helpful as well

Recommended best Szechuan in Montrose. Very good Chinese food and equally good service; friendly staff. Ordered hot and sour soup (one of the best I’ve had), chicken egg roll, chicken with vegetables and dry chili chicken (recommend this dish, loved it!)

We visited on a mid-week night. The place was quiet and calm with a few customers. Service was good. Nice atmosphere for a private chat. It has also outdoor siting areas. Wheelchair accessible place. Any good main course item will cost you about 18-20$. Cocktails are a bit expensive. Food was tasty. Only Valet parking is available @$10.

GOOD, however I feel all over the country PF Chang's is losing its charm. It just isn't what it used to be, and I used to be one of their top fans. The plates and silverware need to be replaced, they are worn out. The plates seemed dirty because of their wear. The food was good but not great. The service was really good though, the manager did visit us and checked on us, I just think the chain itself is deteriorating in standards and quality. I noticed this through and past Covid but I haven't seen a noticeable improvement at several chain locations I have visited from California to Texas. This is not an employee thing, I truly believe this is a corporate deal.

First place I have been in a while where I was really impressed by the amount of food you get for the price. I paid $11 total, got beef, chicken and shrimp with a lot of rice (this is the "panda rice" option), it was all good tasting. I was there with a friend, and we were the only two people inside around lunchtime, with the occasional other people who would come in for a pick-up order.

I love this place. I remember when Panda Garden was on Weslayan St., Their chicken is always tender, and I decide the level of pepper heat I want. I took my mother here recently, and she enjoyed the experience. She was surprised that after customers sat down, they were served with an entire china table set up and real plates and not paper plates. I will continue to suggest Panda Garden not to be mistaken for Panda Express; two totally different places and experiences. We had takeout, and I had to open the carryout containers for my mother to taste. Maybe next time, she can have the total dine-in experience.

Super interesting and delicious flavors in a nice atmosphere, with a large but easy to read menu. The food came out in cute dishware and the waiters don’t bother you. It was cold outside and they gave us warm water which was just a nice touch. We had the tea smoked duck, eggplant, nourishing soup, cordycepts mushroom app and pickled pepper chicken. Yum and decently priced

Authentic vibes, from the tea to the servers. The eggplant green bean flavor was pleasantly surprising. Crispy spicy chicken really is crispy and works well with the peppercorns and peppers, but not really that spicy. The red oil dumplings had a nice flavor, a little on the sweeter side but too much flour and too little filling.

Food is great and is fresh. Try the octopus appetizer is really amazing and spicy! Service impeccable and fast. The only reason is not a five star is because the duck fried rice has little to none duck making it tasteless. Just avoid that dish. All the rest is great.

Nice place to dine in! First of all, Houston’s food scene offers huge choice of Chinese cuisine, therefore competition is very strong and you need to warrant all expectations. Duck n Bao definitely does that with specific touch. Level of spice is slightly lover than at Szechuan places, but it allows you to feel different tastes of every single component in the dish. Yet spice is not missing. Dishes on the menu are like in other places with small variations but definitely complemented with very modern atmosphere and kind staff. Prices as in any other place, but we will come back!

Great Chinese food at a very competitive price. The lunch soup to go was huge! Easily twice what I am used to. The egg roll was a very standard veggie one with nothing to complain or rave about. The sesame chicken was also quite good with nice big pieces of white meat Chicken. Fried rice was pretty standard, but a good accompaniment. If I am looking for some simple Chinese food and in the area, I would stop by again. The only complaint was that the place itself is pretty dated inside. Clean but dark and older feeling. Almost like a smoking room or casino poker room

This is good Chinese food. The environment is great and the people are so nice. I thought the prices were a little high. We had fried rice, orange pork and sweet & sour chicken. Food came out fast. I was surprised, for dinner there were no egg rolls included or a cup of soup. That would be a nice addition.

One of the best Chinese restaurants I've ever been too. I highly recommend the chicken with egg plant (not pictured). It's one of the best dishes I've had and I'm not a big egg plant fan normally. The Orange beef was really good but I recommend it as a family style dish. The spicy dumplings and noodles were both good appetizers. The art work and design for this restaurant are incredible. One of the best designed interiors I have even seen. The service was very good and professional. I definitely will be back.

We were just in the neighborhood around lunch time and found this place to be close and with good reviews. It is now my favorite place for sushi in Houston! The food presentation was beautiful and the quality and freshness of the sushi and sashimi were exceptional. More affordable than many other sushi places too. Great service can’t say enough about Cafe Ginger!

Family owned restaurant that never disappoints. Every dish was delicious & flavorful! Meats were seasoned perfectly & cooked to perfection! Noticed their happy hour menu on the table & it looks interesting! Will definitely be back to try it!

My overall experience was okay here, we’ve been wanting to try it since we drive by constantly and we ordered a variety of food, crab Rangoon and a bowl of soup. The crab Rangoon had little to no filling I took a picture after a bite and had but a smidge of filling. Soup had good flavor but came out lukewarm. The entrees on the other hand were pretty decent. The service was good and the waitress was attentive at filling our drinks though

Tiger Noodle House 0

We’ve ordered from Tiger a few times now since we discovered this Chinese restaurant. We are overall very happy with the food and decided to write a review. We liked the green beans, combo spicy dry pot, Dan Dan noodles, garlic sauce shredded pork. We thought the portion is generous and the price is reasonable. However, the most recent we ordered the seafood spicy dry pot, we were disappointed because there was only a little seafood( very small pieces of shrimp, and deep fried fish, and scallop that was so small I couldn’t grab with my chopsticks), mostly bamboo shoots, compare to the combo one we had ordered a few times it was so much more!! We will stick to the combo spicy pot!

I’m between a 3 and 4 on this experience. It was the amount of oil and the dumpling sauce that made me go with the 3 stars. Menu was dirty, sticky and some pages were wet. There are many selection so choices for everyone to try. The dumplings came out hot and steamy then went cold quickly without a lid. The sauce was thick and tasted just like oyster sauce. My dish was just full of oil, I couldn’t finish it. I asked server for recommendations before ordering but he had no opinion and he hasn’t tried what I was asking for details about. I don’t know if I would return. If it gets better next time then I’ll come back to edit the rating.

Great restaurant with authentic flavors and great family style portions. In my opinion the flavor was better in the Montrose location but this delivers quality as well. The chicken cubes were very strong on the MSG flavor. The Dan Dan was the best dish here, very flavorful. I liked the ambiance better at the Montrose location too, but this one had lots of indoor seating space.

Ordered the mapo tofu and green/white soup, both were great and big portions. Very reasonable prices. Forgot to take pics at the restaurant, so attached are pics of my leftovers. I plan on coming back :)
