Van's
The place was empty, and the lady stated that I needed to have reservations at least 24 hours in advance in order for me to have the privilege to eat in. So, I asked for carryout and was told that they don't do carryout because the food will be too expensive for me to pay for. Thats when I realized that I was not welcome in their establishment. The only thing I can assume was that they only serve certain folks in there, and I don't fit their profile. Their bad, and from other comments I read, I am glad that I did not eat their food.
35 minutes for one Pad Thai order to go. Entrees went up to almost $20 a plate. Chicken was old and dry. Absolutely gross. Will never go back.
Thai Lucky
So delicious. Chicken and broccoli was tender and flavorful. The sien hang was really good came with a sauce and sticky rice. Lucky found a place out here with really good Thai food. Very surprised how delicious.
Ordered the Pad Ginger and another dish, as well as the steamed dumplings. Food was phenomenal and good sized portions. The young girl at the counter was very polite and helpful. I love that this is a very small restaurant... Most certainly family owned. The neighborhood is a little sketchy so I'm glad we got there before dark. Regardless, though, we would absolutely return!
Jingu House
We came here for a drink after exploring the Japanese garden. We sat inside because it was really humid outside, but the patio was busy with guests when we were there. Inside there aren't as many tables but there is ac and big windows and natural lights. We were attended to right away by our server Lily who was super nice! She helped us decide on cocktails and we both really liked our selections. The bartender even stopped by our table to ask us how our drinks were! My bf really liked the Jasmine ginger Margarita. I had the blackberry bramble and it was really nice and refreshing. It was sweet and not tart at all which I prefer! I really wanted to try the food but we already had dinner plans, so we will have to come back!
Food presentation, beautiful, nice place to sit when the weather is nice outside. However, if you like light seasoned food and not in a rush, stop here. Service is, in my opinion, extremely slow. We had to ask to sit down because the front guy did not or would not acknowledge us. After that, the waitress took forever for anything. With a total of 3 tables, I feel like it shouldn't have been such a struggle. On top of that, all of our food came to us cold and not a lot of flavor to it, soo disappointing. So with that I say this place is a 2.5. The best part was sitting outside enjoying the weather.
""Chop Suey"" Honduras Chinese Food""
The portion size is huge and the food was made fresh ! Fair warning they don't speak English. But still very nice and patient.
It took 40 minutes to receive a single chicken breast plate, and unfortunately, the fries were dry, though the rice was decent. At $15 per plate, it’s really not worth the wait or the price. You’d be better off going down the street to Beijing or any other Chinese restaurant for a better meal.
Panda Express
Worst service ever … ordered fried rice plate with Orange Chicken & Sesame Chicken & Crab Rangoon.. Received plate with fried rice … pork meat? & beef broccoli… spring rolls!!! WTH 🤦🏽♀️. … ruined my dinner plan after a long day at work…. Contact eatery and Manager was useless and unapologetic for the worst customer service and old dried food served! Insisted I need a receipt to reverse my charges despite not being provided a receipt! Restaurants are struggling because they lack quality food and customer service! She could have researched the damn order and verified their mistake! Purchasing fast food is choice not a necessity… a choice too often not worth the consumer’s money! Bye bye for good!
Well this is my 1st 1 star review I have ever done. Our family loves panda and is the only Chinese food my kids will eat. We dined in and ordered the family meal. We founded pieces of hair inside all 3 entree containers. We were pretty grossed out after that and just threw our entire meal away, all $50 worth. We brought it up mgmt and showed them and they asked if we wanted something else, we said no we want a refund on the entrees because we were grossed out. They told me they don’t do refunds and could only give us a gift card for future use. What does a gift card do if we won’t eat there anymore due to being grossed out. Really disappointed in the mgmt in how they handled this. None of them were not apologetic.
Long’s Chinese food
Ordered two plates, soup and 1 egg roll...34 dollars... Soup was oily and horrible. Food was not fresh, and the teriyaki chicken in one of our plates was still raw...there was blood in it. (Sent it back and got that refunded) Saw good reviews online and decided to try it out.... We will not be coming here ever again. And their lemon sauce is terrible...
sweet n sour was bad, don't order it. the chicken is a a a weird soft texture like other reviews mentions. I don't understand how y'all's chicken taste like that. it was gross, the rice is bland. egg rolls were very greasy. I spent 54 bucks on this food, I don't complain alot on here but do better, please. won't be coming back.
China King Buffet
Very good food at an affordable price. There are many varieties of chinese food and sushi. The food is with high quality. The fried shrimp is excellent. Many dishes are good.
The noodles were cold, soup was warm, the shrimp was mushy, soda was flat, the wontons were burned, our booth couldn’t locked in place, our straws were thin like coffee stirrers. My kid was spitting out her food because she said it tasted so bad. I didn’t finish my plate. They gave a discount so instead of paying 38 for 2 people, I paid $31. I still left a tip but we won’t be back.
Thai Lao Orchid Restaurant
Paid almost 30$ for a small soup and pad Thai. The quality of food doesn’t justify the value.
We were a little hesitant to visit this place but were craving badly for Thai food; we weren’t disappointed at all. Every order was absolutely amazing and tasty. The server was very friendly to us and also helped in deciding our orders and adjusting it according to our preferences. The spice level was just perfect and the taste was overall very good.
Golden Gate Express
Ordered food togo. On menu states comes with an egg roll, did not have one. And cashier said only can get soup if dining in. So ordered hot and sour soup since I was going to have to pay for the soup anyway. The hot and sour soup looks and smells disgusting see picture. Very disappointed as there are not many food options where I work.
I have traveled from FL and NY just to come eat at this small location. The food is different but great. I always miss this place when I'm not around. Glad that after 20 years this location is still open.
Panda Express
Great place to eat, everything very clean, good customer service, I will definitely return, delicious flavor 😋🤩😋!!!!!
1st time ordering online for delivery by urber eats. I received 1, 2-entree plate. The beef entree had minimal protien, and veggies appeared to be the last bits. Also, I received 1 small order (2) spring rolls RATHER than the large order (12) spring rolls. I was charged ($44.85) for the full order, which included: service fee, delivery fee, and an 18% delivery tip. It was late at night and the store was closed by that time so I can't call until It opens at 9:30 am.
China Express
It's my 1st time here. It was recommended by other foodies. I ordered from the drive-thru menu. Service was fast and friendly. I ordered 4 meals for my family. There was a little wait, but the meals came out hot, fresh out of the wok. They were all very tasty and the meat was very tender. The prices are reasonable for the serving size... good portions. I'll definitely come back again. Come check them out for yourself.
I've finally found some bourbon chicken here in San Antonio! This place has large portions at good prices. It wasn't bad and arrived still fresh and hot as I had it delivered but it's honestly not much of an improvement from mall Chinese food. I like that the sauces used weren't overly sweet and didn't drench the food, the vegetables were crisp, and the crab ragoon was crunchy and filled perfectly,
Tan Tan Wok
Tan Tan Wok is a great place to come celebrate any occasion with a great meal. We came on New Year’s Eve and our service was still amazing and fast, despite being packed. In terms of the food, we loved everything we tried. The highlight of the evening was the House Special Rice Cake. It was super soft and crispy, with lots of chewy rice cakes. The Flat Noodles had a great fresh texture and came with plenty of beef and a delicious, savory gravy. The Roasted Duck was good, although a little bland. However, when eaten with the chili sauce, it is a great dish. The Baby Bok Choy was a super fresh addition to the meal, a great contrast to the rest of the meal. I LOVED the Peach Green Tea. It was super sweet with some real fruit pieces inside. I thought the price was a little steep, but it came in a huge carafe, with enough tea to fill 4 of these juice glasses. Overall, we loved the food and the bright, active atmosphere of Tan Tan Wok. I look forward to returning in the future.
We came to eat at Tan Tan and when we came in we sat and they gave us JIA kitchen menu they said it's all together so we ordered appetizers which were delicious, then we ordered the chicken fried rice, shrimp vermicelli, spicy garlic shrimp. The whole family enjoyed it and I definitely recommend it. We usually come to this area to eat but this was the first time here.
