The Golden Goose
I stumbled upon this place It being my first time in San Antonio and while being here I experienced amazing customer service and instantly felt welcomed. The owners father welcomed me with open arms and I even got to meet the owner and recipe master as well. The Korean radish soup filled me with warmth like comfort food would and the chicken was phenomenal. They are a family owned business this is their second venture and I ended up staying for hours. The vibes are unmatched the beautiful works of art that completely cover the place gives it so much character I couldn't stop looking. The owner even made some of the pieces themselves. As a native NYer this can easily stand up to the Korean places there. If you ever need Korean food in San Antonio make sure you patronize Golden Goose. ✨
A MUST TRY for anyone wanting Korean food. Stopped in late evening... Place is off of the downtown area...great food recommendations, very friendly atmosphere and the food was amazing! Flavours were incredible.
Alamo Hot Dog Co.
Delicious hotdogs, perfect for the after party. When we arrived there was a long line and the service was a bit slow but totally worth it. The hot dogs have a good size and are packed with sauces. Prices are accessible and they accept cards and cash.
I want to give a special thanks to the owner. Who was working that night? The hot dogs were super delicious, and I couldn't get over the face of a good old-fashioned texas hot dog. I was really impressed with the good service of old-fashioned southern hospitality.
Mon's Thai Bistro & Sushi Bar
I used to love this place and even gave them a five-star review in the past. Unfortunately, it seems like all good things come to an end. On 12/27/24 at 6:00 PM, I picked up dinner, but my experience was far from what I expected. I ordered my usual Kung Pao Chicken with extra chicken—a dish I’ve had many times before. This time, however, the portion was shockingly small, more like a kid’s side meal than a proper dinner. Confused, I called the restaurant to give them an opportunity to address the issue. Instead of understanding my concern, I was told, “You can speak to the manager, but it’s not going to make a difference; those are our portion sizes.” As someone who values consistency, this was disappointing, especially since my previous experiences were excellent. If this is their new standard, I guess I’ll be taking my business elsewhere. To be fair, at the end of the call, they said, oh sorry we didn’t add the extra chicken.
Atmosphere is excellent. Very clean and serene. We loved the Thai butterflies. So tasty. The Pad Thai medium is pretty spice and yummy. The children’s chicken fried rice was perfect! My daughter is so picky and loved it. Very lovely shaded outdoor seating. Service was wonderful.
Pho Fresh
This is definitely a hidden gem and some of the best Vietnamese food in the city. Haven't tried any of their Chinese or Thai dishes, but I have seen others eating them and they look delicious. Whatever pho you order is so filling. They don't skimp on ingredients. Best banh mi in San Antonio because their grilled pork is elite. The place can get pretty crowded at lunch, but the food usually comes out pretty quickly.
The pho here is Amazing!! It taste home made. The lemon grass chicken is delicious with a tiny bit of a kick. The spring roll is crunchy deliciousness and that little side salad is super Yum!!! Y'all need to try it out!!
Shifu Noodle
We were in the southside of town earlier this past Saturday. We headed to @shifunoodle for lunch. Hubby had heard about this restaurant through Texas Eats. It’s located between a Boba Tea place and SAPD office. Though they’re known for their noodle dishes, they have other Chinese dishes. ‘We shared the Beef Brisket Noodle Soup with the marinated egg, Mapo Tofu, Sweet and Sour Fish, and Garlic Wings. The noodle and soup was good but the beef was a little dry. Dad loved the Mapo Tofu and the Sweet and Sour Fish. I loved the fish too. We both like anything with lots of sauces. The wings seemed missing the brine and was on the dry side too. The overall experience is good and I would recommend stopping by.
We had high hopes about this restaurant according todifferentppl that have eaten here.. where do I begin. .. the waitress.... she was so dry and honestly, just there... Her customer service was barely noticeable. We ordered hot and sour soup. General Tso and Orange Chicken. Within 5 minutes, we had our whole order on the table. You would think that would be a good thing. WRONG!!!! The Orange Chicken was nasty. It tasted like Orange juice from HEB. SUPER BLAND...NO FLAVOR....NO SEASONING.... Overall, it was distasteful!!! They serve us days old chicken... I don't know if it was chicken or pork.... To me, that shows that you don't care, and it's all about the money!!! The food wasn't even hot. We were extremely disappointed with our experience. I highly recommend that yall NOT eat here!! Lung Fung off of South W.W.White Rd is way better!!! It's Hood... but it's Good!!!
Pinch Boil House
I am a regular and I am always impressed by the friendliness of Destiny and Ariza! They are always kind, sociable, and even memorized my order which is a small but extremely kind gesture. The food is great as well! I regularly get pinch fries, which I 100% recommend, and have also tried the Prawn bowl, the chicken curry, the Japanese curry, and two of their bahn mi sandwiches. Absolutely everything has been tasty and worth ordering. I would absolutely recommend coming here for the food, the atmosphere, the workers, and the cleanliness.
Food is super good! We went twice in one week. The bread for the Banh Mi was soooo soft and toasty. The fries were great perfectly done with a great amount of crab on top. The prices are super reasonable, staff was friendly, and I personally love the posters hanging up as well.
Red Dragon Chinese
My 1st time visiting this restaurant. I was craving Chinese & just happen to see there sign & immediately stopped. I was greeted immediately by the cashier who was amazingly kind & welcoming...I ordered & she brought out my food within 5 mins which impressed me even more then the inside of the restaurant being so clean & decorated. I ordered the chicken with garlic sauce for he 1st time & it was steaming hot & fresh & tasted even better then it looked! I absolutely highly recommend trying out this gem if you haven't already 😊
We noticed their health inspection score was a 96, which is awesome! Egg drop soup was delicious, as well as their entrees. They added some veggies upon request to mom's teriyaki chicken with no problem. She had already started eating before I could take a pic of her plate. Lemon chicken was crispy and moist on the inside. All the food was delicious, our only concern is the tight parking , we'll just have to carpool next time😎!
T’s Thai express
THE BEST PAD THAI IVE EATEN AND I AM SOOOOOOOOOOO PICKY WITH MY PAD THAI. I’ve tried SOOOOOOO many in the entire city and this is THE BEST! Even the egg drop soup is so creamy and FULL of egg. I’m OBSESSED! My daughter got a he chicken with steamed rice and came with two dumplings! 🥟 seriously the best food I’ve had.
The food here was delicious! We ordered several dishes, and everyone was very pleased with both the generous portions and the incredible flavors. Each plate was satisfying, making for a great dining experience.
Susie's Lumpia House
My family and I stopped into Susie’s Lumpia House on Sunday. This was the BEST homemade and authentic food we’ve had while here in San Antonio! No wait for seating. But the place did get super packed quick. Buffet had a lot of options, but isn’t a self serve buffet. Someone serves you the portions but you can go back as many times as you would like. (My guess is to keep from food wasting) Food was AMAZING! Temperature was on point and flavor was fire! The buffet only comes with water. Yea and soft drinks are extra. I still asked for a glass of ice with my soda. Desserts were also included in the buffet, the flan was the perfect finish to an AMAZING meal. Price wasn’t too bad. $87 for 4 of us with extra drinks. They have karaoke nights and a huge stage on the opposite side of the restaurant. And a small market with lots of Filipino goodies! Super neat place to visit. We will most certainly come again. Susie was also very personable! She came around to all the tables to see how everything tasted. She gave us a nice comfy homestyle feeling.
Really enjoyed the set up here! You can dine in for the lunch buffet -choose 3 entree’s with a scoop of rice- or you can do a la cart and take it to go. Pancit Bihon was very flavorful and had a good ratio between all ingredients. Lechon Kawali was amazing, all the pieces I had were crispy with a good amount of both meat and fat. Make sure to get the mang tomas to dip it in. Lumpia was big and filling. They’re wrapped more like egg rolls in my opinion, but they were delicious!
Ming's at La Cantera
Food is DELICIOUS. Beef and broccoli 5/5 - some of the best beef ive ever had in this classic dish (not dry or chewy at all!). Loved the fresh slaw with it. Flavorful all around. Cubano bun 5/5 Chocolate strawberry lava cake 5/5 Tres leches 3/5 - too thick/spongey. Didnt melt enough Service is soooo slow. We didnt get checked up on once, had to wave down our waitress and other waitresses to get water, sauces, order dessert… Note: they charge extra for hot sauces/ jalapenos but didnt tell us
A wonderful dining experience in a very well designed and planned restaurant. I arrived to see many people waiting for a delicious meal. I was told I could eat at the bar to avoid a long wait. So I did. The bartender who served me, Juan was very sociable and professional. I enjoyed a lovely meal of shrimp coconut curry. Most delicious and an excellent portion size. I recommend to all.
Three Amigos Chinese
Great little hole in the wall restaurant. The service was great, and the chicken was being cooked fresh. The speed of service was excellent. They are obviously a well loved addition to the community, and there wasn't a lack of customers during our small wait time. The rice was lackluster, but if you add some of the sauce from your meats, it's pretty good. The general tso chicken wasn't spicy at all. We had to add spices to it at home. The orange chicken had more spice than it. The egg rolls were really good. The service was fantastic. The nice little old lady behind the counter was very kind. They didn't even charge me until the food was done cooking. The building smelled a little off, like their plumbing somewhere needed to be fixed. Overall, it hit the spot, and we will be going back in the future.
I've heard about this place from several people who say this place "Rocks"🗣⚡️ So I had to try, and I wasn't disappointed at all. ✅️✅️✅️✅️✅️✅️✅️✅️✅️✅️ Friendly Ma n Pop Chinese Couple with a little shop mart plus freshly made Chinese food too.......🍴🥡🍽 Great selections & choices from this Wonderful Old Sweet Chinese Lady & Hubby👵 Huge portions & Tasty delicious Chinese food. They have no seating or tables,it's strictly takeouts ONLY. 🗣✅️ SuperGreat Food & SuperNice Chinese Couple too👵🪭🧑🦳🧧🥡
Pho Win
This is my go to place for pho now. The both has good flavor. I always get beef of some kind so the steak and brisket is a little tough/overcooked for my taste but this is solved by asking for the meat on the side and overall doesn’t takeaway from my liking of the place. I always order an iced coffee and it always tastes the same. I like consistency in my regular eateries. The staff is consistent, familiar, and friendly. I haven’t gotten a wrong order yet. Personally, I did not enjoy the texture of the chicken in the spring rolls. I don’t eat pork so I can’t speak to quality of the pork dishes but I have faith they are good as pork seems more popular than chicken.
The food was phenomenal! We got the crispy chicken wings. They were perfectly crispy and very well seasoned. We also go the meat and shrimp pho- pipping hot and very flavorful. The restaurant could use a little cleaning, but nothing to deter.
