Yummy House
Ordered fried shrimp, wasn't cleaned & was cold! Orange chicken, dry with barely any sauce! & then I get yellow rice with egg, not fried rice! Horrible food!! Added the pictures of the feces still in the shrimp!! Every piece!
Our Yummy House take-out order turned out to be an unexpected delight! It was the first time we ordered Chinese takeout since moving to Rochester and Yummy House didn't disappoint us at all. First of all, I was impressed with how quickly Yummy House was able to prepare and deliver our dinner. At 5:38 pm I placed an online delivery order from their website, the est delivery time they provided was 6:32 pm. Which is a reasonable time for delivery. However, I was surprised to receive a call at 6:11 pm informing me that my delivery driver was outside. 33 minutes to prepare and deliver 3 dinners and appetizers! Impressive On to more important things...the food! We ordered 3 dinner combos; Sesame Chicken & B-B-Q Wings with shrimp fried rice, Bar-B-Q Spare Ribs with pork fried rice, and Chicken Teriyaki, Boneless Spare Ribs with pork fried rice, and Crab Rangoons. Everything and I means EVERYTHING was delicious. There was nothing that we did not like. The chicken and ribs were cooked to perfection, it was all well seasons and tender. The fried rice was very good and flavorful as well. Our favorite was the Crab Rangoons...Yum! We are all very happy with our meal and look forward to trying other Yummy House dishes. P.S. The best part was our order, delivery charge and tip only cost $49. The delicious meal and the speed at which it was delivered were well worth the cost in my opinion.
Jin Wang Chinese Restaurant
I am not sure if you guys have a new cook but my order I placed on Monday was disgusting. I have never had house special lo mein that was sticky with no sauce and spoiled. I have always raved about the pork fried rice and that was disgusting as well. The food tasted old and spoiled. I am not sure what is going on but I can't eat there anymore, my food tasted totally different.
Chicken well cook and the rice real good ♥️
China Star
The food is usually good, but how i order at 10:05 bro say 20 minutes i get there prolly 10:20 walk across the way to get a beverage come out its 1030 and bro and his wife are locking up. Claims he waited 20 minutes and that they closed. My car was in they parking lot the whole time.
Food represents excellent value and quality. It's your standard Chinese restaurant in a not so great area. Which means, generally, not great atmosphere but very good food. And it's very very good here, at least what I had (lo mein and general Tsos chicken). My chicken wasn't spicy so if you want it hot ask, but probably very stomach safe if you have GERD or another GI issue. I highly recommend the food, China Star is stand out in their market segment as far as flavor, quality, and texture. A+ where it counts.
Szechuan Opera
I really loved the interior of the place- very beautifully decorated. The service was good, and the food was okay. For our appetizer, we had fried crab cheese wontons, which were really good. We chose items from the lunch special, which included spring rolls ( or you could opt for a soup). For our main dishes, we had chicken in garlic sauce and sesame chicken, both served with rice. I personally like the sesame chicken better. Portion size was good too. For dessert I had mango juice sago and we also tried bubble tea ( taro and sakura rose milk tea). Unfortunately, both were too diluted in flavor. Overall, because I really loved the interior, I’d rate this place 3.5/5. It’s a good spot to enjoy Chinese food, especially for the ambiance.
I’ve been craving the dan dan noodles I had in Chengdu (Szechuan Province), and these noodles taste pretty dang close. They hit the spot, especially with that classic mouth-numbing Szechuan peppercorn flavor. I would’ve just added a bit more meat and crushed peanuts for crunch. BUT, delicious! Didn’t realize the sizzling shrimp dish would be breaded shrimp, but it was super good—she asked if we wanted hot or mild, suggesting that hot would be too hot, so we asked for medium spicy. It was definitely spicy enough so yeah, hot would’ve been too hot. It comes with either white or fried rice. We got green tea too. The decor inside is SO cool! The menu is quite extensive, with both the classic American Chinese options (general Tso’s, etc) and super authentic Szechuan dishes. Great service too. Highly recommend
China Moon
Food was EXCELLENT!! I ordered shrimp with lobster sauce, beef lo mein, Kung Pao chicken, spring rolls (they had a gingery flavor, yum!) and shrimp fried rice. First time I come here and I loved it. This is a nice family business. Very nice and kind people. Love this place, so far my favorite in the area!!! Sorry my pictures are not the best.
China moon you have my heart! Best Chinese place and so close to my home! Amazing food and such friendly people!!
Honshu Hibachi
I LOVE their vegetables. Their teriyaki chicken is so delicious! Everyone is super nice. They are quick and efficient in their cooking. We, hubby and I, are a repeat customers.
It is in the food court at the mall, but that doesnt stop it from having the best chicken teriyaki and dumplings ive ever had from any Japanese restaurant. The employees are kind and work very hard. I take my kiddo here once a week to get the Chicken Teriyaki with double chicken, and fried dumplings. Only downside is the location as we've had to leave the mall while eating because of gang activity...but thats pretty much Rochester as a whole.
Lichee Gardens Monroe
To be honest the food isn't good, kinda tasteless. The chicken seems old has a freezer burnt taste, the rice is ok but bland. I couldn't eat the rest of the portions. Panda Express is better and there not good either.
We had company from out of town and I ordered from Lichee Gardens because it's been my go to place for years with delicious food every time. It had been a couple of years since I'd been there so I should've checked the recent reviews. We were very, very disappointed in the food we took home. It was bland... the Egg Foo Young was kinda awful and the Chow Mein tasted like it came from a can. The egg rolls were soggy. It was all just very mediocre at best. I'll never do it again. I wasted a hundred and fifty bucks... ouch. That's gonna hurt for a while.
Han Noodle Bar
Interior was nice with two floors of seating and you can see the cooks making your meal. We had several dishes and were ok. Nothing special in our opinion. Service was subpar. We were not offered refreshments and while placing our order the waiter begins to walk away assuming we’re done ordering. Had to call him back to complete our order to which he replies “that’s a lot of food”. Won’t be back.
First time eating there with 2 adults and 2 young kids, we had very bad experience. The menu was big and looked attractive so I needed to take time checking it, but the lady asked to take menu back like every minute. My food came very fast but didn't taste good at all. The beef noodles soup had no flavor, barely tasted salty. The noodles were way to soft. The clay pot was warm, not HOT. We were not told that the fried chicken and rice was covered with sauce (not stated on menu neither), when I saw the food, before I even said anything, the lady right away told me that we cannot refund the dish... Last my bill was $47, I took a $50 bill from my husband. As I was trying to calculate how much with tips and looking for coins in my purse, the same lady kept asking questions like where we came from and what we wer doing in Rochester etc, then she picked up the $50 saying it was not enough tips ... Honestly I wanna give a zero star instead, will never go there again!
White Swans
Duuuuuuuuuude We tried a little bit of everything. Teen different dishes all together, mostly dim sum. All of it was ridiculously good. A couple of things benefited from chili oil, but we love the spice. The Vietnamese coffee was also amazing.
I accidentally never left a review when I first tried this place a few years back, but I remembered absolutely loving it. It was during the winter time, when the inside aesthetic just felt extra cozy, especially with the quieter atmosphere. I finally went again last Sunday and it felt like I relived the past. I’m not sure why or how, but I find this place, simply put, comfortable - like a nice hug. Moving away from feelings, I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve tried thus far. Side note though, sesame chicken is nothing like the “normal” sesame chicken an American might think of. Also, the server was pleasant but no one checked up on my food this time which is not the greatest, but is nothing to refrain from me going again.
Nam Vang Restaurant
Try them out!!! My boyfriend found this place this past year while checking out nearby lunch spots for the work day. After months of hearing him rave about the Pho, specifically the chicken Pho, and his multiple visits each week, I knew I had to try. It was everything he spoke about and more. Every time we come to Nam Vang, which is at minimum weekly at this point, the service is fast, the staff is kind and welcoming, and the food never disappoints. Not to mention, it is good pricing for a quality, homemade-like meal. I haven’t had the pleasure of trying anything other than the Pho yet, because I love it too much, but I have a feeling there’s something for everyone here. Try them out!!!
My favorite vietnamese restaurant in Rochester! For context, I'm Vietnamese-American and have lived in SF, NA, NYC, and the food here is comparable to any authentic restaurant I've been to in other cities. My favorite dish is Bun Bo Hue and Banh Coun, and my boyfriend loved the Hu Tieu Mi Vit. The only gripe I have is that they often sell out of dishes I crave that day. Nonetheless, we come back often
Tran Huy Garden (Lin's Garden)
You can't sit down and eat in the place. Take out only. Not very happy about that. Food is mediocre. But it's nearby and we like Chinese so they get our business.
Great food, been coming here almost 20 years. Now you can buy delicious juicy watermelon 🍉 here only $5 for a tall overpacked container!
Number One Rochester Restaurant
Hot and fresh even afternoon. You can get sauce on side. Good portions. Taste fresh.
After months of smelling coworkers take out lunches from this place, I had to try it. I was not disappointed, the food was good. It's takeout only, though, so back to work I had to go with my lunch.
