Peking House Chinese Buffet
We ate here for 2 consecutive days during our 2 days visit at WV. We loved the options for the food especially we have kids. The ambiance of the area is okay too and it's spacious. The service was great as well because every now and then, their staff will check on you. Thank you Peking House!
Today I visited Peking House Chinese Buffet for the first time and I was very satisfied. Great prices, and everything was clean and well-organized. The atmosphere was comfortable, and the food looked well presented. It was definitely a good choice, and I will be back for sure.
Hunan House Restaurant-
We are vegetarian. The dishes we ordered were General Tso’s fried bean curds, vegetable egg foo young, cold noodles with sesame sauce, and hot sour soup. The soup was better than the usual Chinese food take out store. Egg foo young was also delicious. The only thing was the sauce of General Tso’s bean curds was too sweet more like sweet and sour sauce. Hunan dishes are usually a bit spicy, and the dry hot pepper they put into General’s Tso’s wasn’t spicy spicy.
Just okay... food was better than a take out place... service was just okay too... seemed dirty inside.
Hunan Wok
Hate to be harsh but it's pretty terrible. The front door being wide open is never a good sign. The interior is dingy and not very clean. Ordered pepper steak and egg foo young. All of it was tasteless and overcooked. Probably made a day ago and reheated. The egg rolls were dry and hard. The steak was all gristle and tasted like baking soda. Overall a horrible quality Chinese takeout. Don't go.
Sorry couldn’t get photos because we ate everything. We got chicken with broccoli combo, beef with broccoli combo they both came with egg rolls. And we got dumplings which were delicious. And finally we tired the crab Rangoon which were ABSOLUTELY TASTY. I give them a 10/10 for FOOD. Delicious.
Number One Chinese Restaurant
This place has replaced Holy Wong as our go-to Chinese to-go. When you call and order in, you get the most pleasant woman on the phone. She is clear, articulate, and makes sure that your order is accurate. When you pick up your food, you get a nice warm welcome as you walk in to pick up your order. The food is consistently good, each time we’ve ordered. You aren’t getting ambiance, and that’s fine, since we get it to to. I highly recommend.
I have been coming to number one for about 3 years now and the food has always been good food. The lady and her husband are very nice and always make sure your order is fresh and accurate.
Panda Express
This was my first time at Panda Express, and I was impressed by the ambiance. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the restaurant had a clean and comfortable setting, making it a pleasant place to enjoy a meal. The staff were friendly and helpful, which added to the overall positive experience. The service was efficient, and I didn’t have to wait long for my food, even though it was somewhat busy. I decided to try a few items from the menu, starting with the veggie spring rolls. They were crispy and light, a great appetizer to begin with. I also ordered the apple cinnamon roll, which had a nice balance of sweetness and spice, perfect for satisfying a dessert craving. For my main dish, I had the spicy chicken, which had a good level of heat and flavorful seasoning. Overall, the meal was enjoyable, and I was happy with the taste and quality of the food. The entire meal cost around $10, which seemed like good value considering the portions and the variety I was able to try. Overall, I had a great first experience at Panda Express and would definitely consider coming back.
Orange chicken is usually a safe bet at Panda Express, but oof. This stuff was way too sweet and the chicken was chewy. Prices are high too!! I could go to an actual Chinese restaurant and get more food, that's higher quality. Ugh. I guess there's a premium for the convenience, but idk if I'd go here again.
Kesar's
Dropped in after business mtg nearby after googling for Indian restaurant. Thali is their main attraction after seeing photos. Lots of choices for thali/ vegetarian variety of two or more curries bread rice sweet quickly served.
We hadn't heard great review about this place but gave it a chance. The food was good no matter the reviews. The service was not good. They forgot our order and we waited long before we had to remind them. We got the chat Thali & Gujarati Thali.
Sultan Wok Chinese, Sushi & Thai
Absolutely amazing lunch special! General Tso tasted great and this lunch portion was the perfect size along side a vegetable roll. After not having Chinese Takeout in some time, this was a great experience. I will definitely be back when I'm in the area.
I've been ordering the same thing from here since high school. Sesame chicken, pork fried rice, spring roll. In all my years the taste and quality has stayed the same - just perfect. This is the best place for sesame chicken I've ever had. Many other spots have very rubbery chicken with a skin that's too chewy and a sauce that's too sweet. This is the perfect texture with the right sweet to savory balance. I love this place. Please don't change what you're doing. You're doing great!
Biryani Pot East Windsor
Had been to restaurant for a Friday evening- had good expectations on appetizers but all the appetizers are bland and not much as expected. Though the suggested dishes are said to be good but it was-bland. Not so good. People who want to have bland food this is suggested otherwise a BIG NO.
Food was great. We had Karvapaku chicken and Kaaram Podi chicken for appetizer, and a few Hyderabadi Biryani for entree. Food was amazing, flavor was excellent.
Asian Halal Meat & Kebab House
Small place nothing special. Meat prices much higher compared to other halal butcher shops. Closed on Monday or Tuesday? Mixed messaging. Not sure.
We ordered from the Asian Halal Meant & Kebab House three times already (via GrubHub) and on all three occasions we were quite satisfied with our orders. The kebabs (both Seekh lamb kebab and Afghan chicken kebab) were delicious. The mixed vegetables were very good too. The restaurant follows its customers' requests with utmost attention; when we asked for double wrapping (for the food to stay warm), it was duly noted and properly executed. Unlike many other Indian or Pakistani area restaurants, rice is not included and have to be purchased separately. However, much lower prices (e.g. some kebabs are priced $7.99 vs $13.99 offered at other restaurants) do fully make up for it.
Vatan Indian Vegetarian Cuisine & Bakery, East Windsor, NJ
Khaman dhokla is a must try here, pillowy soft, very fresh & right balance of taste & flavors Naan, tandoori roti - good 👍🏻 They have an extensive menu & no bread basket which is disappointing 🤦🏻♀️ Quantity of Chhole served with 2 bhature is less Paneer makhani was okay Methi matar malai - sabzi taste is good - but peas was barely 50% cooked which killed the taste of the sabzi Some of the methi gota had raw batter inside It wasn’t a busy day - we were the only ones ordering food .. and yet this blunder .. If they improve their sabzi portion sizes & check for doneness, they could do better! Menu is extensive .. but dishes are a hit or miss .. so it’s important to read reviews of what to order
Before I begin my review, I want to give a huge shoutout to Shawn (employee) for going above and beyond. He handles a busy restaurant so well and shows love for what he does. His customer service is amazing and we look forward to seeing him anytime we come to Vatan. I hope he gets recognized because he truly deserves it. As for the food, it was delicious. The wait times were slightly long but again, Shawn came and apologized, which went a long way. We didn’t mind waiting. There were some unique finds that we don’t see at typical Indian restaurants, which I loved! Below are some pictures of what we ate! Highly recommend checking it out. We drive an hour just for Vatan!
Sukhadia’s Indian Grill - East Windsor
Good thali and some of the best jalebis ever . The potato was very hard not cooked all the way but everything else spectacular
After checking in hotel in East Windsor NJ checked nearby Indian restaurant and selected fully vegetarian fast food and snacks store type unit located near Patel Brothers another full service grocery store and nearby cinema in a strip mall.. After checking menu orders puri bread and undhiu / mixed vegetables steam cooked with spices and potato’s . Also sweet dish of Shrikhand- creamy milk based with Saffron flavored. Combo came with picked and fried green pepper!! Had enough sit down area for groups and four some tables. After eating did buy suterfani and other crunchy snacks and Jalebi- sweet flour based cooked in oil and then submerged in sugar liquid and dried
China Grill Buffet
The place was so busy but the staff kept tables turning like clock work! They never let plates stack up on your table, they kept our beverages filled...totally on top of their game. The buffets were constently being rotated, filled and wiped down. They had a very wide variety to pick from and it was all fresh and presented well. Definately something for everyone. Keep up the good job! 👍🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Newer to the area, wife and I thought we'd try here as it looked similar to a place we went back home. Food was actually quite good, to be fair. Staff who brought drinks and cleared plates was polite and all fine. Halfway through our meal, the older manager or owner starts clearing phlegm from his throat. Does this off and on for the remainder of our time there and it was vile. Absolutely ruined the outing, which is a shame, as I thought we found a place that would remind of us home. When we went to pay he was on the phone complaining about his newspaper lol... Can't return here ever, nauseating.
