Awadh India Restaurant
Food was very flavorful! I usually get Tikka masala or saag but went a different route. I got a dish with peppers and onions with chicken, it was Chicken Malai I believe. It was so good. Wife got Tikka masala and it was great. Cheese Naan was good. Great food.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Awadh by Chef Anand, and the experience was nothing short of delightful. The menu featured a thoughtful blend of traditional Indian flavors with a conscious nod to healthy eating. The palak paneer stood out for its lightness and clean flavors. It was clearly crafted with wellness in mind—creamy without being heavy, and the spinach base retained its freshness beautifully. The masala bhindi, lamb korma, and malai chicken were all equally impressive. The bhindi was perfectly spiced and not at all greasy—a rare achievement. The lamb korma was rich and tender, with a well-balanced spice profile, while the malai chicken was succulent, mildly spiced, and wonderfully comforting. A special mention to Archana, our server, who was warm, attentive, and incredibly helpful throughout the meal. Her recommendations were spot on and added to the overall experience. Highly recommend Awadh for anyone looking for Indian cuisine that’s both indulgent and health-conscious. Will definitely be back!
Mala Hotpot Hilliard
This is the best hotpot place in Columbus. I love the Mala broth, the perfect combination of spicy and flavorful! Today I went and saw that they are actually planning to stop serving hotpot and become a dim sum place, but I hope the management will reconsider, as I come here regularly for the soup and tell all my friends to check it out as well
This place is great! Tonight was our first time there, and we went in not knowing what to expect. There was a little bit of a first-timers learning curve, but we caught on pretty quickly. Don't rely on the menu that's posted on their website- in reality, it's quite different than the one in the restaurant. Everything is ordered via QR code and a robot will bring your place settings and proteins/carbs for your got pot. Everything else is buffet style. It's truly an experience. We had a party of 2 and were there for almost 2 hours. Don't go if you're in a rush; allow plenty of time for you to enjoy the experience.
Chili's Grill & Bar
It was our first time dining in here. Plenty of food choices! The restaurant was kinda busy when we got in. Hostess sat us at a great spot, but took 20 mins for the server to come and drop water but that was fine. Food wise, it tasted okay but nothing special to any other steak you get. Shrimp was okay. The smoked bbq lack sauce or maybe they forgot to give it to us. Ambiance is good 👍🏻 Not too fancy but great for a casual date and friends night!
We ate at chill’s around 5pm on a Saturday. The place was packed, but the expected wait for a table was only twenty minutes. We elected to eat at the bar, so we could order drinks and food immediately. Good decision. Our bartender was excellent and our service was super fast. My husband and I ordered from the 3 for Me menu and upgraded to margaritas. The margaritas were excellent. We both ordered the double old time cheeseburger. For a chain restaurant, we were really impressed. The burgers were cooked perfectly, had an excellent flavor and were really juicy. We had chips and salsa. We liked them so much, we ordered more (with queso) to take home. My husband had potato soup for his starter. Too much flour for me, but my husband raved about it. I remain impressed by how effective the staff was getting orders in and out of the kitchen quickly. It was a non stop barrage from the moment we arrived. Great staff.
Ohana Island Grill
Food/Taste/Flavor: 3/5 - ordered a BBQ Mix Combination Plate based on recommendations and a Chicken Katsu. The Chicken Katsu was amazing! Tender chicken that is moist fried to a perfect crisp. Unfortunately, the BBQ plate was nothing to write home about. Salty overall and heavy taste of just soy sauce and sugar. The beef felt like scrap pieces, the chicken was okay, and the short ribs were decent in texture. Service: 5/5 - quick and straight forward service. Don't expect Amercian hospitality but she got the job done. Much more friendly to guests who speak Chinese. Ambiance: 3/5 - there was a soft Hawaiian music playing in the background almost completely drowned out by the humming from the refrigerator or AC. The humming did stop but started again. The tables and chairs were clean with some Chinese characters decorating the couch. Value for price: 3/5 - the Chicken Katsu was great and definitely worth the price based on taste, quality, and serving size. The BBQ plate was not worth at all even though it's a recommended item!
Stopped here on a whim while shopping nearby and I'm so glad I did. I wanted to try everything on the menu but I did try a few things that were all exceptional! The chicken katsu musubi was so crispy and fresh and the seaweed wrap was perfection. The lumpia was so flavorful and unique and the sauce it came with i need an entire bottle of! The garlic shrimp was absolutely delicious, the garlic wasn't over powering and the macaroni salad made for a perfect pairing. I also grabbed 2 cans of thr Hawaiian sun drink. Cannot recommend those enough! You have to try every flavor! And lastly the wonton soup was so unexpectedly delicious! I will definitely be back. I need to try everything on the menu! Also I walked in to order and it took less than 10 minutes to make everything! Definitely stop by and give this place a try!
BIBIBOP Asian Grill
Delicious food. It could’ve been a little warmer but was still good. The restaurant was spotless and the outdoor patio was lovely to eat on.
We (husband and I) visited this establishment on Friday, and I was happy because I had not been there for a while because I accomplished losing 63lbs in the last 9 mos. and was not frequenting fast food restaurants. It was quite apparent as we approached the counter to order that the young man behind the counter to take our order seemed to already be quite angry and disturbed about something...unrelated to us. As he began taking the order and placing lettuce in my bowl, I asked for noodles. He gave me a half of a scoop, and I asked for more, he then picked up less than half of another scoop, and again, I asked for more, he then literally threw it in the bowl! Then he says abruptly, NEXT? As in what I would want next. I asked a question about purple rice, and he begrudgingly answered. He then says, angrily states.. "NEXT". I ordered carrots, black beans (which he spoon threw about seven blackbeans on the bowl), and I asked for more. He huffed and puffed and literally threw about 5 more into the bowl, the again...NEXT?!?! I then asked for broccoli, he literally threw two into the bowl, and I again said, more please, he smacks his lips, and I asked him why he was doing that. To my surprise...His reply, "You are asking for alot", to which I replied, I am paying a lot". But I had less than half of a bowl of food! As my husband, personal trainer began to order, he treated him the same way. My husband is extremely fit, and not a large man at all, about 165lbs, so he, too, was not asking for a lot. But the server would only give less than half scoops for the few things he wanted, and the server smacked his lips and swung his neck when hubby asked for a little more, and again with the emphatic NEXT?!?! before he could even get to the location for the remaining items being offered. We each may have asked for five- six original items each in our bowl and then a protein, and this young man was treating us as though we were asking him to make a bowl where the lid wouldn't close or something. Even when I said "Sir, thank you", he took exception by smacking his lips, rolling his eyes, swinging his head, and sashaying his shoulders around ...all with that with mumbling something under his breath with an angry glare! Absolutely reprehensible employee service! I have visited this establishment in the past and have even positively interacted with a manager (I believe Soo?) back in 2019 with great exchange, never saw this guy there during this time so he must be newer. They must be under new management, because the service was DEPLORABLE the previous manager would NEVER have tolerated that behavior. I hate to disparage good establishments and rarely do I review, but this was so awful, I felt compelled to leave one. I know nothing will ever be done to this employee, even after my calling the restaurant when I got home and asking for the district manager. I was told I had reached corporate office after dialing the 614 phone number for the Gahana location, which I knew was not true. It is so sad to see this type of service from an establishment that always provided us good service. I definitely won't ever go back!
The Cheesecake Factory
Started off with street corn rubs (a corn on the cob sliced into quarters). I had the spaghetti and meatballs (4/5 stars). It was a bit too basil/tomato tasting for the sauce, but overall not bad. My other half ate the steak medallions. The server was AMAZING and the facility was very clean.
The Cheesecake Factory is the place to go if you need a restaurant with a group where you don't want to worry about meeting everyone's needs. The menu has something for everyone. I ordered the Buffalo Blasts, Shrimp and Chicken Gumbo, a Strawberry lemonade, and an Oreo Shake. The Buffalo Blasts are really good, but need to be shared with at least three. The Gumbo is heavy on the tomato, but really good otherwise. The strawberry lemonade is a punch of flavor and I loved it. The Oreo shake is good, but thick and I'd order the cheesecake instead. Our server was friendly and helpful. All the service we experienced was that way. The atmosphere, as at all locations of The Cheesecake Factory, is unique to its brand. I enjoyed my visit and would eat here again.
Peking House Restaurant
Got the General Tsos chicken. Very good! Quick service and it's the most inexpensive I've seen so far for the quality.
Of all the Chinese restaurants in Columbus this is by far my favorite!… I love their house Mei Fun and Singapore noodles. Both are excellent… Today I ordered the house Mei Fun!…. it was excellent as always. Update with another photo… Ordered shrimp, and broccoli… Delicious!
Smoothie King
The two young ladies closing up this evening 11/25/24 at smoothie King were extremely personable. I'm a first-time customer. The young ladies helped me with my order. Explaining to me all the different varieties and possibilities. My shake was absolutely delicious and I couldn't ask for better customer service. Well done! Smoothie King.
Best service and blends in Columbus! Love the strawberry pineapple. It’s always perfectly chilled in the styrofoam cup.
Calanley Somali Restaurant
Delicious food!! They seemed surprised we came in to eat, and it was our first time trying Somali food. But they were very accommodating and helped us try a lot of different things! Portions are large and the extras (juice, salad, soup, bananas) were awesome. We got the goat kebabs, beef tips, and chicken kaykay. All were yummy! Will definitely be back!
We ordered 1 goat with anjera, 2 kay kay with chicken, one beef suqaar with anjera (pictured). Price is $68 ($17 per meal average). Thoughts: -I am familiar with injera, according to the web “anjera” is also a fermented flat bread. What I received (pictured below) is a flour tortilla with grill marks. There is no debate about that, it is not any type of house made, fermented bread. -the quantity of the beef is good! It tastes fine. It was very hard and chewy. -everything comes with a white sauce. It is very apparently miracle whip (or “salad dressing”) which has been watered down to a pourable consistency. -they gave us one small cup of lentil soup to share with 4 plates. It was good. -each plate comes with a banana. Summary: tortilla, not anjera $17 a plate Overcooked We really want to like this place. We were excited to get it but it’s super overpriced for what you get and not as advertised. We won’t come back for what we got.
Ethiopia & Somalia Restaurant
We enjoyed ourselves. The parking and area is a little sketchy but they were very accommodating and friendly so it put us as ease. The food was 10/10 the best
Really great food and nice workers. I ordered the lamb and rice and it was super tender and flavorful. The portions are huge, it was enough for two days. Prices were reasonable as well. I only had to wait about 8 minutes for my food which was really quick. Definitely recommend for good food!
Joy Food
I have been going here for about 10 yrs or longer. Sadly very recently my family and I noticed that they have been serving smaller portions, and the flavour is lacking since they hired new cooks. Even though I have asked them about it twice, they never admit to it and say its always been that way. My family has stopped coming altogether, but I decided to cut back on coming there often but still visit. Today I wanted to try again and even ordered my favourite dish. Not only was the portion small and a corner empty (which they never did in the past) the noodles were flavourless and overcooked. I will be throwing the noodles away. The chicken eggrolls and curry chicken were good in flavour though, But not worth coming back. Sad to say goodbye to this place.
I decided to DoorDash from joy Food and was terribly disappointed in the quality, quantity and price. I got the Mongolian beef and an order of crab Rangoon. The beef was very chewy and clearly lower grade beef. The crab Rangoon tasted like it had sweet-and-sour sauce mixed in with it, which I didn’t like the taste of, not to mention as you’ll see in my photos the amount of filling in the crab Rangoon was ridiculously small. I will say that the loin was good but since I paid over $30 for this meal, which again as you’ll see from the pictures was a very small portion considering Chinese food is usually quite generous. Overall, I was quite disappointed
Twin Sunlight
A delightful and cleanly restaurant, situated off Wilson and Trabue. The dishes are adorned with fresh, colorful vegetables, cooked to a perfect texture and pleasing the senses. The sweet and sour sauce is well-proportioned, neither too sweet nor too runny. The chicken is crunchy on the outside and moist inside. The lo mein noodles are seasoned appropriately and have the ideal texture. The fried rice is also cooked to a high standard. The standout dish is the Beef Hunan, with its generous portion of tender beef, flavorful sauce, and fresh vegetables. We look forward to our next visit to sample more of this establishment's delights.
This place is great, order all the time. Attaching updated pictures of their menu from Dec 2024.
