Soho Bistro
Liked this place a lot! Cheap food with great portions, and the women who run the place are a blast. They're really nice and funny and will tell you ab their lives if you ask. They're also super attentive and an absolute riot
As you can see, I got the sesame chicken, and they brought me white rice instead of the fried I paid for. If you look closely you can see that there's still some left on the plate, meaning they probably just brushed it off and added the goods. Not a deal breaker for me, but the crunchy chicken absolutely was. Pretty sure what I ate was 90% breading. Points off for that, and flavor too. They got my order wrong, but the service was speedy and attentive. Not a lot of customers, but they made sure to keep the place tidy regardless. I probably won't be going again due to the quality of the meal I ate, but it was a nice looking place! This will serve you well for a business lunch or a cheap rendezvous.
Ginbu 401
We came here before going to a concert in the area. We arrived just before 5. There is a parking lot so that was helpful. It started getting busier the longer we were there. The service was very friendly, and we didn’t lack for refills or being checked on. I got the cherry blossom roll, and my husband had the Alaska Roll. He was very pleased, because it wasn’t loaded with a ton of rice. My roll was really good as well. He also ordered the sashimi salad and loved it. The presentation was wonderful and everything looked really fresh. We enjoyed our visit and will be back in November when we have another concert to go to.
B- The quaint place sitting on the side of a busy road is hard to see but well worth the stop. The staff is friendly enough nothing impressive about them. The food though is great. We've sat in this restaurant on several occasions. The sushi is fresh n rolled perfectly. The variety of flavors work together to provide a unique experience. The price is okay not too expensive but also not cheap if ordering sushi. Hubs enjoys the sesame chicken. Not overly sweet and it comes with rice cooked perfectly.
P.F. Chang's
This is a wonderful experience. The food is amazing, and has its own unique Asian flare. The staff has always been top-notch and highly trained. Even though they do not mix the sauce at the table anymore, it is still awesome. That was an experience that I really liked. The servers would always mix it to your personal liking, and it was just a really cool experience that I still wish they offered. The restaurant is extremely clean, has a wonderful smell & and the ambience is absolutely phenomenal. It’s also not very noisy, and it seems to have unbelievably well placed acoustics. It’s just awesome. My recommendations are to start off with the chicken lettuce wraps. There’s just nothing like them. My favorite dishes are the Mongolian beef and the Chang spicy chicken. I also love the cashew chicken. If you go there at lunch, there’s really nice lunch specials. It’s just a wonderful place! If you are in the mood for any type of Asian food whatsoever I don’t think there’s any other place that I could recommend more. Both locations in Charlotte are top notch. I love the one located in south park and I believe it was the first one in the area. The Northlake mall location is definitely easier for me to visit rather than the South Park location, Lunch or dinner it is just phenomenal food. The atmosphere is top notch and there’s wonderful artwork on the walls that just makes the whole experience phenomenal. My kids really enjoy the desserts and they’re very well presented. One of them has lots of sparks and sparkles. I don’t know how to describe it, the kids look forward to that every time.
Nice place to hangout with family. Tried the 19.99 budget friendly 3 course meal plan. The sesame chicken was too delicious. The food served tastes yummy and would plan to visit soon.
Mandarin Chinese Restaurant
They have great lunch specials, and their food is fast and good. We ordered 6 lunch specials to go, and our order was fast and accurate. The inside needs an update, and the bathroom was out of order. It's not a place to go and eat unless you want something low-key and simple.
This place is not bad to try. Chicken wings and chicken fried rice, chicken with garlic sauce and fried rice were ok. Other items we ordered were not up to the mark as we expected.this place is definitely better than the other Chinese takeouts we have in the area.they have sitting area also but small.
Jade Dragon
My new favorite place. I ordered plain lo mein, beef broccoli combo, and general tso chicken. Everything was delicious, just with the chicken was crispier. We have gone back multiple times and love the crab rangoon and chicken wings.
Quiet place with a dark and intimate ambiance. Quick service, clean establishment. I ordered the seafood delight, $17.95. It comes with brown sauce, not lobster sauce like some other Chinese food places do. There was too much brown sauce for me , but otherwise, the food was fresh.
Taipei Express
I went to buy Chinese food beef with vegetables and rolled spring when I arrived it was a super small pot. And according to them they told me that it was the biggest almost $20 dollars for that pot that I see it too small for the value and the other thing that they put me a single rolled and I asked 5 hundred short I came and the table was left wanting to continue eating. I remain attentive if any attention
So far best Chinese spot I’ve been in since I moved here from NY. So for starters me and my hubby can eat - we enjoy a good portion. We definitely underestimated how big their portions were- it was enough for dinner and lunch the next day! General chicken is good but I would prefer it spicier- just has a kick to it not really spicy Lo mein was flavorful and not salty - just right! Rice was mild in flavor but not bad or oily which is good. The biggest disappointment was the wonton soup. It only brought 2 small wontons all you get is broth. Was super sad about that as I cant find any places here that actually gives more wontons! Other than that you will def get a bang for your buck and food is delicious!
Open Rice Metropolitan
The concept of appetizers going from table to table was different but understanding (food presentation attract the eye and awakens the taste buds curiosity). The food was very flavorful and plentiful. The customer service was great and everyone was very attentive. Plenty of seating and the ambiance was nice. Children’s menu and vegan menu available. This is a must do if in town! Dr Collazo
The restaurant is located in midtown, so parking wasn't right outside the restaurant. We had to park in the parking deck by Target and walk a bit. The tables were a bit cramp. We ordered dim sum and had difficulty fitting the dishes on our tiny table for two. The dim sum was okay. The shrimp dumpling and shrimp rice noodle could have had a thinner skin. For $8.95 a dish I expected better. That literally means 1 shrimp dumpling cost more than $2, and I just don't think it reached that level. Chicken feet and sticky rice wrap were the best dishes. Flavor was good, and I liked how the sticky rice maintained the individual grain shape instead of mushing together. The egg tart didn't taste super fresh. The crust doesn't flake very much, and the bottom of the tart was soggy. Overall the service was good. However the dim sum is overpriced for the quality you get.
A & C Chinese Fast Food
The food is value priced!!. CASH ONLY!!!! It’s a family worked business, so don’t rush them or get upset over them not answering give them a minute. There chicken wings are cooked naked with a light sprinkle of salt and ok for the price. The rice is ok but made with instant rice. The lo mein is valued with too much soy sauce to color it I wish they leave it without. I love the chicken noodle soup. Thick, flavorful and creamy it’s our go to in cold weather or when sick. Sesame chicken is good a favorite in our house. Look it’s good for the price don’t go looking to add beans sprouts it’s not that kind of restaurant.
I am usually VERY suspicious of super large takeout portions, mostly because you question the actual quality of the ingredients. I cannot say that this is the case for A & C, I feel as though the price accurately corresponds with what you get. If I remember correctly I got a massive serving of pork fried rice and a order of sesame chicken for around $20. The pork fried rice filled a clamshell takeout container. The fried rice was packed full of quality cuts of meat, eggs, and vegetables. I certainly will be getting this again sometime soon. The sesame chicken was not what I was expecting, but it too was delicious. They serve it how many other Chinese places serve sweet and sour chicken, fried chicken tenders with the sauce on the side. As someone that has had plenty of chicken of the like, I can say with confidence that this is definitely top tier. I often check restaurants health inspection ratings before going, and I found that A & C has consistently scored right around 95+ for several years, you cannot get much more hygienic than that. Do not let the location of this fine establishment turn you off, it is (in my opinion) one of the best Chinese food restaurants in Charlotte!
Asian Grill
We ordered general chicken, sweet and sour chicken. Crab Rangoon, vegetable lo main and egg rolls. Crab Rangoon-6.5/10- very cream cheese forward, it was semi sweet, not the best and not the worst. General- 7/10 wasnt giving general, it taste like good fried chicken with a sweet brown sauce, wasnt spicy. Sweet and sour- 8/10 I mean it's a basic dish. Vegetable lo main- 7/10 Chicken egg roll-8/10 would definitely order this again.
We typically like this place, but the take out tonight was terrible. Sesame chicken was so dry, hard and overcooked. The Special Trio was watery and absolutely flavorless. We called the restaurant to let them know, hoping they'd at least offer to remake it. The guy put me on hold and came back and said his manager said the best they could do was take 15% off our next order. Told them we wouldn't be back. It's pretty insulting to spend $34.06 for something that tastes terrible and an offer of basically $5.50 credit. We definitely won't be back.
Mingfu Sushi & Chinese
I can't decide which was best, the food or the service. We had the Awesome Roll which lived up to its name, the Kung Pao beef, and house special Udon which were equally great. Jules was so sweet and attentive. We just move in to the area, was our first visit, and we will definitely be back!
Went to dinner tonight with my parents and newborn as we do on a weekly basis.the food was great per usual. The waitress was one I personally have never had before. I didn’t catch her name. We were rushed as we sat down. I would appreciate the fast pace if I was in a hurry but we wanted a calm family dinner. She didn’t speak great English which is okay but her attitude was loud. I was rushed though my order and she was very annoyed we were waiting on one person to arrive. They were going to close with in an hour. Once our 4th person arrived we had already put in the order. She just plopped the food in front of one person and ran off. Then as they were closing she was rushing us out like we didn’t just spend any money there. Very rude. We asked for one last refill of water and I watched her half fill it up with sink water. Literally. Worst service I have ever had here. Pretty disappointed. It was the least happy I have ever left here. 2/5 service. Honestly awful.
Amazing Wok
Such a great little spot! The atmosphere is sort of old and dreary but the food is nothing short from amazing! We got the pepper chicken spicy & the orange chicken. Loved it all and will be back.
I’ll admit that I’m a tad leery when it comes to ordering Chinese/Asian cuisine nowadays. However, Amazing Wok’s food hasn’t disappointed. I’ve visited this location multiple times during Door Dash deliveries and decided that I wouldn’t spend money here based on one of the younger ladies’ attitudes, but the older ladies that worked this past Sunday afternoon and this afternoon were very pleasant and answered all of my questions. The vegetable egg rolls and vegetable fried rice (lunch special) were both delicious. A plus— the food is not full of grease! Lunch specials are the best deals here.
China Yummy
First visit here. I had to wait a LONG time to get any food but it was worth the wait! Hot, hot, hot food that was delicious and seemed fresh. Sesame chicken was on point, as were the spring rolls. On the contrary, the service was quite poor. As I said, I waited about 15 minutes and then had to come back into the store for forks and napkins. They were not very friendly. All in all, the food is worth it but you may get subpar service. Recommended.
This is the best Chinese food I’ve had in a long time. 3rd time going this week. Very clean restaurant. The owners are very nice and the food is really good. MUST TRY!!
