This is an overrated place or maybe the chef is on-strike when we visited. The fried rice comes with our lunch special is almost spoiled and have a smell. It is just not the rice we usually have. However the dinning table is clean. Nothing else is special.

A diamond in the rough! We were traveling through the area and happened upon Taste of China. The food was delicious, and can confidently say they had the best egg roll I’ve ever had. Prices were very reasonable, portions were a good size, and food was served fast and hot. If I’m driving through the area again, I would go out of my way to come back here.

Ordered through Door Dash, 1st time ordering from here everything was well balanced portion size to price. egg rolls a little pricey but better than average. very disappointed with the flavor of the Wonton Soup broth, but the wontons in it tasted very good. the Scallop with Hot Garlic Sauce and the 8 Treasure Chicken 🌶 had great flavor but not that spicy. Fried chicken wing really great flavor and a great crunch! honey Honey Chicken, Coconut chicken we got the extra meat for $2.00 and not disappointed.

Beware this restaurant. This was my first time trying this place out and disappointed. I pointed and ordered the number 34 and my husband ordered A.9. The girl that took our order never handed us the check, so I went up to pay for the food. She said it was $30.81. I proceeded to pay but I thought it was a little more than expected. I looked over the menu because the amount wasn’t adding up. I asked her about the price and she said that the #34 wasn’t on their menu and that there was only one size which was the #313. She then proceeded to print out the check after I paid. I told her that I didn’t order that number and she said sorry they forgot to mark it out on their menu. I asked her why she didn’t tell me about they “ no longer go off of that number” and she said “im sorry, I was just busy”. The plate I was charged was almost $5 more than what I actually ordered. I think they purposely up charge people because they didn’t hand any of the other tables their check. We will not be back.

This is the LAST time I’m ever eating here. EVERY time I make a phone order I get told “ready in about 15 minutes” guess what? When you get there is when they start to make your food. Spent almost 35 mins waiting for food. NEVER AGAIN.

Great flavor! I got the Bean Curd and mixed vegetables with fried rice. I could taste the fresh ginger and garlic. Delicious! Very friendly lady at the front desk. And they have tons of lunch platters served all day! I will be back real soon. One of the better Chinese restaurants I've tried around here. My dog really approves of their cooking also! See photo. Check it out . . . you'll like it!

Just left this place the food was great and the girl taking orders was extremely nice and friendly I will definitely come back here to dine in Thanks China Moon.

Staff and service very good. I like the sesame chicken and they have great steam rice. Their homemade hot mustard is very tasty. Great food for a reasonable price.

I drove in the newly falling snow just to get their egg drop wanton soup. I also like their orange peel chicken and black pepper beef. I've never had anything bad from here.

Ordered food from here based on good reviews from Door Dash. But the food was just not good. Honey chicken didn't have any honey flavor. I don't know what sauce was used, but it certainly didn't taste like honey. The chicken was very rubbery. The fried rice tasted mostly like oil and not like any other fried rice I've had...and I don't mean that in a good way. Both these dishes were very disappointing and ended up throwing them out. The dumbings were pretty good though, and I did enjoy them.

The staff here is great and friendly. Egg drop soup is very well made reminds me of getting it homemade as a kid. Sesame chicken great not a fan of the General Taos has almost no heat. No black pepper chicken option. My only real complain is every time my eggrolls are over cooked. Just wonderful staff.

So we tried Rice Bowl 1 for dinner, the reason they are called Rice Bowl 1 is because you go there one time and you are done. The chicken noodle soup had zero taste, the noodles were soggy and the few pieces of chicken were about as bland as it gets and had a consistency of rubber. The fried dumplings were soaked in whatever sauce and not like any fried dumplings I had ever seen, they looked gross and tasted worse. The Sweet and Sour Chicken was basically tiny chicken pieces hidden in greasy inch thick dough. I tried the Sesame Chicken, not sure when it was made but it tastes like it was hours ago and every piece was hard like fried wood chips. The plain fried rice and lo mein were totally tasteless, the were both beyond plain. The last dish we tried was the Hibachi Chicken, the dish was swimming in sauce, the chicken was tough, rubbery and not fresh. This was not a cheap dinner and the food was complete crap, I have been to 80 to 100 Asian restaurants and this was by far the worst food i was ever served. I doubt the people working there know how to cook, this was a disaster. For dessert we tried the Donuts, the were not fresh, not sure if the were made 7 hours or 7 days ago. I'm so disappointed in this place. Warning for all go anywhere else it will be better. All portions were large but what does that help if the food is terrible. Maybe they need to focus on quality instead of quantity. The only good thing about the food was the fortune cookies, they were fresh and were made in Stone Mountain, GA, not in Denver, NC. This place needs to be visited by the health department because I believe the chicken was all expired or precooked or the place needs to be renamed to Really Bad Asian Cook

Ordered pepper steak and onion and Mongolian beef and all we had were onions. Hardly any beef. This is not Mongolian beef. Mongolian beef is darker and no onions maybe the the little green ones. 28.00 is ridiculous

I Order Mongolian beef but it should be called Mongolian Onion with some beef , if you really want Mongolian beef do yourself a favor and don’t go here unless you want Mongolian Onions for 1 order it was more than $20 not worth it. RIP OFF.

The rice is my favorite you can eat it by itself. The fried chicken at times can be hit or miss but I think it depends on the cook . But overall really good different taste then usual . The rice is to die for !!!!!!

So me personally I tend to think no restaurants in NC knows how to cook Chinese or Japanese food. I come from Florida where it’s pretty simple to us however this is some of the best Chinese food here. It’s always piping hot, fresh and seasoned to perfection man. I get the honey garlic chicken and also it is not really honey garlic but the taste is impeccable. The pork fried rice is amazingggg. These people here know what they are doing.

I try and support local business but I get tired of people who can’t run their own business but still expect customers. Today I came to HK to buy a large to go order . I checked online and it says they are open at 11. I drove to the location where there was a yes we are open sign and posted hours of 11to 9 . It was 11:40 and the place was deserted. I can understand if the hours on goggle are different but at least take down the sign on your front door and replace it with an accurate one . It takes 5 seconds to do and it will save customers for your future.

What other Chinese Restaurant can you say has been opened more than 25 years? Ive only always had good food from here. Never had a bad experience. I recommend take-out but if you stay, be patient because the inside has not been updated since the 90’s but don’t let that stop you from trying this Nice Family owned restaurant with great mouth-watering food. All the food is great but the wontons, honey chicken, lo mein, fried rice, and wor shu gui is absolutely phenomenal. That honey chicken tho 🤤💜 I would pay for that recipe.

We went here looking for some good Chinese food, and ended up with flavorless food, and a high price for flavor. For us to eat it cost $52 so we expected at least decent food. However the dumpling taste and feel like mush. The rice is flavorless, and the chicken even worse. It’s hard, half cold and half hot, it’s like it’s been microwaved. The drinks had a bad after taste and after working in a kitchen, it’s because they aren’t changing the spouts to their drinks. There was no seasoning and we had to douse it in pepper. The only redeeming quality was the staff. They were funny, nice, and put forth effort to make sure we were comfortable. The restaurant has character is one way to put it. You can see where it was leaking from the roof. I don’t care about the look of a restaurant, but the quality of the food. Overall food awful, service great, and atmosphere was meh. Also to top it off, those bottles in the photos, we tried the sause, and it’s been bad for a while. Could seriously make someone sick.

The restaurant is old, they try their best with maintenance but there’s better Chinese cuisine out there. It was also 45 dollars for three plates? It seemed way too expensive for the quality of food we got.

The food was very good. Large portions and well priced compared to other takeout restaurants. I do recommend placing the other ahead of time. You don't pay until your order is ready. Make sure to grab a menu and circle what you want so it's easier for them to let the chef know what to make, since everything is made fresh to order. Lunch and dinner peak hours are very busy and there is only 1 lady taking orders, busing and checking people out. So please be patient with her. Our food was out in 15-20min. We ate inside and still had leftovers for the next day. Definitely recommend! We got, sweet and sour chicken with rice, chicken lo mein, orange chicken, chicken wings with rice and extra egg rolls and cream cheese wontons. Please get that sweet and sour and shrimp sauce on the side it's so good you'd want to dip everything in it lol sorry all the food was not pictured.

Best Chinese food around. Simple as that. Ordered 20 mins till close, at the counter. Food was out in under 10 mins. As hot and fresh as could possibly be. Egg roll was handmade and it was all under $10 after tax. Tastes better than anything in the Winston/Salem area. I would literally drive an hour for Golden Wok in Wilkesboro. Stuffed the container so full it could barely close. id say for $9.98 after tax it was about $1.50/lb if you want to measure it that way. Two meals for the price of one imo.

I have never in a million years left a review but this is a first. Was craving Chinese all day and found that this one was near where lived. I couldn't even finish my food. I'm actually really bummed. But just figured people should know. My stomach is already in knots from what I did eat. 🥲 hopefully from this review they will realize that they need to do better. I'm sorry! I feel horrible as it is leaving this review.

Always great food. A little on the pricey side. I love their egg rolls. They are the best in Caldwell Co.
