Shanghai Zhen Gong Fu
I don't often review places but this spot is great. I was slightly worried when we walked in and the staff was amazingly friendly (atypical of your standard Chinese spot). Bantering with customers and laughing and giving out hugs, knowing customers' preferred seating. Super attentive and friendly. Food came out and was legit. Soup dumplings were hot and juicy, skin was thin but doesn't break, overall well seasoned. SJBs had crispy bottoms and fluffy tops, perfect texture. Rice cakes had wok hay and massive flavor. Salt Pepper Squid was hot and crispy, with well seared onions/peppers & deep fried shallots to top. Solid place. Will def go back and try their more Canto focused dishes next time (which looked delicious too).
Unbelievable food and service! SO delicious! The mapo tofu, steak special and soup dumplings were a highlight. Will be coming back :)
Li Li
One of the best Chinese food spots in the area. The food is great quality and very tasty Nice customer service, accepts debit card payments and even delivered food to me even though I live all the way in Maspeth. I had their food through out my life but I will be ordering chinese food from them more often.
Some of the best Chinese good I've had in all of NYC! They really make the best dishes here at cheap prices! Highly recommend to all tourists and New Yonkers!
Ming's Kitchen
I was Turned off years ago because the rice always tastes old. Yet I Decided to give this place another Shot. Egg Foo Young and Rib Tips were Okay but The Egg Drop Soup was HORRIBLE. It had no Flavor and Looked like Dirty Mop Water...GROSS!!! It was absolutely disgusting. Not sure I'll order from here again...maybe if I want Subpar food I will.
The lady was very nice , took my order with no problem even though they were closing in 8 minutes. Good Chinese in queens is hard to find . I got shrimp with mixed vegetables garlic sauce and white rice . Shrimp was super fresh & the garlic sauce was so flavorful. 10/10
Panda Express
The service is amazing and the people that work there are amazing. The food is a little average compared to other Panda Express locations. Also, they didn’t have any noodles so they gave me the last of what they had which doesn’t make the food super Enticing.
I ordered 2 large big plates. The total came out to be $31. The price is on the steeper side but the portion sizes were generous. I also received a free coupon for 25% off my next purchase and a free small entree. As for the food, it was mediocre at best. The famous orange chicken was more breading than chicken, the pieces were absurdly small. The new black pepper angus steak was underwhelming, sauce tasted more like canned Ragu and there was no distinctive black pepper steak. My favorite items were the beef with broccoli and mushroom zucchini chicken. The staff were so welcoming and attentive, but the food was alright. Also, skip the white rice and get the lo menu instead. Rice was so undercooked and it was tough to chew. Real white rice should be soft and fluffy. Would not buy again.
Five Loaves & Two Fishes
Tonight I took the boys to "FIVE LOAVES AND TWO FISHES CHINESE CUISINE". Nestled in the vibrant neighborhood of Elmhurst, "Five Loaves and Two Fishes Chinese Cuisine" at 82-72 Broadway is a delightful gem that transports diners to the heart of China with its authentic flavors and warm atmosphere. From the moment you step inside, you are greeted with a charming decor that combines traditional Chinese elements with a modern twist. The ambiance is inviting, making it an ideal spot for both casual dining and special occasions. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, showcasing the richness of Chinese culinary traditions. One standout is their Kung Pao Chicken, which features tender chicken pieces stir-fried to perfection with crunchy peanuts and vibrant vegetables, all enveloped in a savory, spicy sauce. Each bite is an explosion of flavor that keeps you coming back for more. Another must-try is the handmade pork buns, filled with a delectable mixture of pork and vegetables. They are steamed to a delightful softness, served with a tangy dipping sauce that enhances the overall experience. The integrity of the ingredients shines through, exemplifying the restaurant's commitment to quality. For seafood lovers, the Szechuan-style shrimp is a real treat. The shrimp are cooked flawlessly, retaining their juiciness while being enveloped in a perfectly balanced spicy sauce that brings the dish to life. Pair this with their fragrant fried rice for a satisfying meal. The service here is impeccable, with attentive staff who genuinely care about your dining experience. They are always ready with recommendations and ensure that your meal is nothing short of exceptional. To top it all off, the dessert options should not be overlooked. The mango pudding is light and refreshing, a perfect way to conclude a hearty meal. In a city brimming with dining options, "Five Loaves and Two Fishes Chinese Cuisine" stands out for its dedication to authentic flavors, excellent service, and inviting atmosphere. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in delicious Chinese fare. Highly recommended! #onlyinqueens #Fiveloavesandtwofisheschinesecuisine
I love their roasted ducks 🦆 & sesame chicken 🐓 . Whenever I go to Queens I have to stop by here to get half a duck or chicken no matter what circumstances 😂 . For $15 you get a container full of half chicken and $18 for half a Duck plentiful enough for the week. Their dimsum selections is also good. They only take CASH no Card accepted which is a disadvantage.
Da Pai Don
The food was super affordable and good quality. There are lots of options, but unfortunately, no seating to enjoy it.
Get there early it gets busy and small space to move around. Dim is two for 7$ , four choices and rice 9$ plus they pack the rice separately and you get a water. If you want noodles as a substitute it's a dollar more. They have chicken or fish sandwich, one for three fifty, two for five. There is Chinese bbq meats you can get. Cash is king
Taste of China
Cheap, conveniently located, friendly staff and good variety of food! The Chow Fun(flat noodle) is good! Chicken noodle soup is simple but satisfying!!! Pricing has gone up on all menu items too!!
It should be called “tasteless”. This food was so bad… no flavor at all in what I ordered. And the staff was not friendly
Shun Wang
A good classic cantonese place. BBQ meats and cantonese breakfast was delicious. The flavors were so authentic and made me feel like I was back in Hong Kong. No frills, you may need to share your table. There's also limited seating so you may need to wait for a table. Service is as expected - helpful but not necessarily friendly. We'll definitely come back!
I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and I absolutely love it! Their roast pork noodle soup is my absolute favorite food. The pork has a sweet crust and a flavorful inside I love. The noodles are cooked perfectly and the soup is always super flavorful. It’s so cheap as well and the staff is all so nice!
New Taste
Used to be my go to for wings, now the wings are the smallest wings I've ever seen while the price is sky high
Ordered delivery. Small portions bad customer service.
Nangma Restaurant & Bar
What a fantastic restaurant! The food and service was incredible! From their fluffy and cloud like tingmo, to their savoury and delicious kung pao chicken! The entire meal was a delight, this is still a new spot but well worth a visit! The meal was fantastic from begining to end. Highly recommend trying their egg fried rice, the egg was soft and fluffy, and paired with the chicken made it an absolute delight. Truly a great place to check out when in Elmhurst!
The waiters and waitresses were very friendly and nice. Cool environment. But it took a little bit longer than usual for the food. But all dishes came in at the same time.
Pearl BBQ: Chinese Food Truck
Meat on skewer is one of the best late night snacks. This food cart has a variety of skewers to choose from. I always go with the bbq one. They recently added grilled cold noodle to their menu: I like the texture of the noodle, but don't really like the sauce. They take cash only and open from late afternoon to around midnight, near grand ave station. You can wechat them to order in advanced so you don't have to wait for them to cook in the cold.
Fantastic bbq spot! Skewers are delicious and fresh ingredients you can tell!! Service is amazing!
Asia Kitchen
I like it, and if ever in a jam, it's open late and they're on Roosevelt. Had the chicken w Brocoli combo. It has the traditional taste you get elsewhere. The price is good. Quick food fix. Also had the rib tips combo.would get it again.
I got an order for delivery, the delivery guy came and said our order was $32.50 but asked for $33, we gave him 40 for the $33 and we wanted to give him a $7 tip and this guy wanted more, the delivery driver was greedy, rude, aggressive asking for more tip never ordering here again!
