New King Chef
We went here because of previous reviews and were greatly disappointed because the food was mediocre. They used freezer burned peas and carrots in the rice. The Spring roll and Egg rolls were very greasy. The cashier was not very mindful and made a mistake when ringing us up and then gave us a big attitude which was uncalled for. I bought a bottle of Poland Spring and it tasted terrible. I should have saved the bottle and called the company to see if the water was legit or they put a Poland Spring label on filtered water from another company. To boot, they do not recycle here. Very bad for the environment. The place was empty and the tables were not wiped down. The bathroom reeked of bleach and the floor was grimy.
This place has really gone down hill. I made an in person take out today and upon sitting down to eat the portions are way smaller. The rice wasn’t even cooked thoroughly and the beef and broccoli was hard especially the beef. Next time I crave for some Chinese food I’ll take my business elsewhere.
China First Chinese Restaurant
We love China First! The dinner combinations are delicious and super generous portions. A wonderful, local family runs the restaurant. Great service and great food!
I was in the mood for Chinese food and came across this spot. I called in my order of curry shrimp and fried rice. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and was greeted. My food was ready and I paid and left. When I dug in, the curry shrimp was good. They were just a little stingy with the shrimp. Wish there was more. The rice was very tasty as well. All in all, I had a good experience.
Orchid
Nice place for a first date, quiet and clean, nice area with parking. The food is ok, portions of rice are small, and there is almost no difference between the lunch menu portion( $12.50) and the dinner menu portion ($27.50) there is no soy sauce or salt or pepper at the table if u want that u have to ask. Sesame chicken was ok nice flavor with a hint of sweetness. General tsos chicken was ok decent flavor and seasoning, not hot at all. Refills are not free small glass of soda is $6, basically a tall shot glass.
All I’m going to say is that the orange flavored beef I ordered for takeout did not taste like beef whatsoever. It was chewy and unbearable to eat. I love red meat and believe I know a thing or two about how it should taste. What I ordered was far from anything close to tasting like real beef. Quite disappointing since I liked this spot the first time I tried it. Unfortunately I’m laying off of Orchid for some time.
Wyckoff Thai Cuisine
Hidden Gem After a Ramapo Hike! After a hike at Ramapo Reservation, we stumbled upon Wyckoff Thai, and it was the perfect spot to refuel. Though the place is small, it’s incredibly clean, and they have an impressive variety of vegetarian options, which was a big plus for us. I ordered the Thai iced coffee, pad thai with tofu, spicy eggplant, and spring rolls, and everything was absolutely delicious! The food was fresh, flavorful, and hearty—just what we needed after a day outdoors. The service was also outstanding; the servers were so friendly, helpful, and really took good care of us. I highly recommend Wyckoff Thai to anyone in the area, whether you’re a local or just passing through. It’s a fantastic spot with great food and a welcoming atmosphere!
Wonderful atmosphere. We enjoyed the wings and of course the Thai Iced Tea. What we cannot forgive is the disappointing of a poorly done Thai Fried Rice. Bland is an understatement. How did we missed the basil and veggies? Try the appetizers here but we will, moving forward recommend skipping the entrees because of blandness.
China Wok Chinese Kitchen
Only reason i gave it a 4 star is I didnt know they dont take credit card i was not prepared and had to take out cash, which isnt a problem just would have been nice if i knew before hand. Food was good though better than other places in the neighborhood.
Food is really good here! The cashier is very friendly and helpful. Sometimes they let you still order from the lunch menu special at anytime. I need to say that I recommend you to order and pick up your food. One time I had my food delivered and it just didn't taste the same and it was cold too! CASH ONLY!!!!!!!!😊
Ginger Flower Restaurant
They burn your food. I never ate from a Chinese restaurant and sweet and sour this small. No meat in rice. They do not make good dishes in all areas. Only a couple of things are good so choose wisely.
The best fried cheese wontons, with amazing dipping sauce, in the area! For this alone they get 5 stars. If these are your thing you must try. They come in large (10 pieces or small (6 pieces) Great job!!
Baumgart's Café
I finally decided to check this place out last Thursday. Food was great. I ordered veggie spring rolls with a chili sauce and Chicken & Broccoli with a brown garlic sauce. It's usually difficult nowadays to find a spot that makes this dish and other similar ones this good. Chicken was juicy and tender made just right. They do have just enough parking available behind the restaurant. The time I ate there was early afternoon so it was a nice relaxed setting. I wish the prices were a little lower. (Just my opinion)
I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and I’ve loved it every time. The sesame chicken is always a hit. The waiters even know us and our orders. The decor is so unique too, love the comfy booths and fun artwork. Don’t sleep on their ice cream either!
China Tokyo
Friendly, competent staff and convenient location, but only for take-out! No dine-in during this review, with 'Rona-proofing over the door. Food fairly good. Nice furnishings observed from behind the plexiglass.
The food is amazing, family is so kind, 10/10 recommend their sesame chicken, sweet and sour chicken, vegetable fried rice, spring roll, egg roll. You will be blown away by the flavor!
Dragon House Asian Station
Bug in food. A refund still doesn’t make it ok. I think they changed cooks. A face to face apology from the manager would have been nice, but when I walked in she just looked at me and continued to eat her dinner in the corner. She made the nice girl that hands you the food give me the money.
Where do i start. Chow mein is one of my favorite dishes to order whenever i order American Asian food. I've ordered so many times in the last 30 years of my life that I lost count. This is what I ordered today. When it arrived, as you can see in the picture, it's just chicken in watery vegetables. Chicken chow mein is supposed to be made with noodles. I know this because every time I've ordered it, it came with that. A simple Google search will tell you this as well. However, instead of admitting to error, the woman insisted that there's no such thing as noodles in Chicken Chow Mein, and also told me that I can ask anyone how chicken chow mein is supposed to be made and they will tell me its not made with noodles. Im almost certain I'm not the first person to come across this issue. If (without noodles) is a variation , it's certainly not the norm here and they can at least state that on the menu. I attempted to eat this soaking wet slop. The chicken chow mein was practically flavorless. I would only eat this if no food was available to me. The fried dumplings were also very sad. They were flat, and not crispy at all. Kinda soggy. Still way better than the chicken. I don't recommend this place for anyone looking for quality.
New Hardee
I ordered a chicken cheese egg roll, Despite the fact that the lights were off and crazy dim in there … as I watch her she literally threw my egg roll in the MICROWAVE FOR 6 mins ignoring that, i assumed that it will be 2 not knowing 1 egg roll was 4 bucks.. so I kindly let her know nevermind she insisted that is what I ordered and I agreed explaining i didn’t know it was the quantity would be 1, Frustrated the lady told me to give her back a $1 so I can receive my money back, as I gave her the dollar to her she rudely snatches it from me same time throwing my 5 on the counter… Im glad I asked for my money back ….
Crab rangoons were tough to chew. The wings are good and juicy! The flats are better than the drums. The general tso was a solid 3/5. The fried rice only had like 5 pieces of pork in it. I wish it had some veggies or eggs or something. If you’re there between 11a and 3p, definitely get the lunch special.
China Star
This place is finished ✔️ use to be good back in the day. Every time I go inside I have to control my self from smacking the dog poop out of the son. They hire annoying children to work the counter and the wait time is outrages. The food is way below average. Time to abandon this place, too expensive, below average quality and long wait times. RIP 🪦
New owners ! Service is slower now 😒 I had to wait nearly 25 minutes for my order. What made it so bad 👎 they forgot to give me my order. I had to ask for it was already bagged up to go. I miss original 😔 people . Food is good, though 😋 it's just the long waiting ✋️
