Moon Wok
Very solid addition to the Brooklyn Chinese food scene. Ordered two of the lunch specials here. Mapo tofu was tasty (made without meat though), salt and pepper fish was crispy and well seasoned. Hot and sour soup also great. Recommended for great Chinese food at a reasonable price.
I have been a regular at this place since it opened last year. The food they offer are great and authentic, and I said that after trying literally everything on their menu. If you are looking for an affordable, authentic, and good Chinese place, this is a top option in the vicinity.
Chuang Hing
This is the best WFH lunch in Brooklyn. The food is consistent and hits the spot when you want American Chinese. The price and portion are both better than any other cuisine in NYC by a mile. On top of that, delivery is free without any marked up prices, unlike what you get with the delivery apps. Get the beef and broccoli and General Tso. It's not authentic Chinese food, but it's authentic American Chinese, which is a cuisine in and of itself with its own long history. Delivery has always taken around 30 mins for me, even during peak lunch hours. It's very convenient.
This is a no-frills take out place. We have a lot of great Chinese food here in Seattle, but I "grew up" on Chuang Hing kind of food, and their Sesame Chicken did not disappoint. Nothing fancy, just solid Chinese Food of "my childhood." ; ) Sure, I didn't have time to see my old friends on this visit to NY, but I had time to get a takeout from these folks. Twice. ;)
