Shang Hai Chinese Restaurant
Used to be a loyal customer. Keyword used to. Quality of food has gone way down. Service is way down. Workers don't even know the menu. Oh and if you call in to order they just put you through to Door Dash.....so save your time and if you really want to get it use your app and save the 4.99 delivery fee. So disappointing.
Order online for store pick up. Waited at store a few minutes for food, when home found some food missing. Called to complain and was asked what site I ordered from than pushed off the phone before I could really tell problem. Was told the manger will call me back about the issue. Will see if get a call back. So did NOT get all my food for the money I spent. Very disappointing.
Quik Wok Restaurant
I dislike leaving poor reviews but this meal turned me off of eating. I chose the fried shrimp, general tso chicken, pork fried rice, and soft chow mein noodles. The fried shrimp tasted like pure oil, like county fair fried food but 10x worse…like literally drinking the oil. I had to dig the shrimp out of the thick battered crust and even then it tasted awful. The general tso chicken was mushy and the sauce wasn’t even a hint spicy like the description said…just maybe slightly sweet? The chow mein looks like spaghetti noodles and had no flavor. And the rice is flavorless as well. Overall everything is bland and tastes like oil. Worst meal I’ve ever had when ordering through DoorDash, it’s sad cause I wanted to try and support a local restaurant but never again with this place. Oh and I had to reheat everything even though the restaurant is within a 5-10min drive from my house. Overall not impressed. I would try and get a refund but since the restaurant hasn’t marked my meal as delivered and complete (since they utilize their own couriers) on DoorDash it makes me wonder if it’s intentional to leave it that way so people can’t be refunded. If people are leaving rave reviews I question their taste buds, whether or not they are legit, or if I was just lucky enough to get the worse made meal ever. If you’re looking for good tasting Asian food in Kuna check out Tasty Thai and Riceworks….they won’t make you regret your food choices. If you utilize DoorDash I highly recommend Tasty Thai, I’ve contributed a bunch of photos, lol. update: I was able to file an issue on DoorDash (since the order finally was marked completed) but looks like food quality issues don’t qualify for refunds. So be forewarned to avoid this place if you don’t want to gamble away your money.
I do not like that I have to leave a review like this, but I don’t want people to make the same mistake I made. Maybe it was an off day, but If I could honestly leave a negative review I would. Thursday was a very special milestone for me and to celebrate we wanted to go out to eat. It was so cold out that we chose here because we live fairly close. Big BIG mistake. All I wanted was a decent wonton soup. What I got was next to inedible, luke warm, and let’s not get into the flavor. Same for my husbands food which came with some cold, rubber like noodles, and my poor kids who would not eat their food, except an order of tater tots (which was by far the best thing there and all that got eaten). My four year old was so upset, that I made the choice to just leave. After almost $80, I was defeated, and what should have been a good night for us, was far far from it.
Chong Dumpling House
As a few other reviews noted, this place should have more low ratings. It’s really odd. Anyway we went on a Tuesday evening at 6pm. I was hoping to love this place so I kept an open mind. There was one table of two people, and then my mom and I. Service was fast and attentive and we were sat down immediately. That is where the positives unfortunately end. Started off with water that tasted weird, almost like unfiltered Philly tap but … earthier? There wasn’t any ice, which is fine with me but atypical. At the end of the table was one salt shaker, I reached over to another table to grab some soy sauce. No dumpling sauce or chili oil bottles anywhere in the place. Time to order. This is a dumpling house so why not try the dumplings. First up- the wonton with hot sesame sauce. It was served Luke warm, sitting in a nearly tasteless dark brown liquid drenched in watery peanut butter. Not peanut sauce, literal peanut butter. Definitely not spicy one bit. As you can see by the picture, the two “sauces” were pretty separated and looked very unappetizing. The wontons immediately fell apart and not in the good way. It was boiled far too long. My mother grew up in poverty and couldn’t muster the courage to eat more than one. The taste was like eating pasta with peanut butter. not preferable. I didn’t want to spoil my appetite with it so I waited for the next plate with hope. Next came our Pan fried pork dumplings. I’ve had these plenty places, Im aware of this style with that little skirt underneath. It’s usually a delectable- crunchy bottom with a chewy top. These had that evaporated skirt underneath but the whole thing was incredibly tough. Far far beyond overcooked, and felt previously frozen. The dumpling sauce served with it was quite mild. Still was hoping the next plate would be good. Hot and sour soup was next up, it was surprisingly tasty and resembled plenty of other mid tier take out spots in the area. Portion was a nice size. definitely a solid choice. Lastly was the shumai. And sadly was let down again. They came out soaking wet and insanely hot, no warning from the server. Eh that’s alright it’s cheap. the minced pork had these grey fat sacks hanging off them like parasites. They were very bland and tasted like soggy meatballs- which is not far from the average shumai. For a cheap place, this was very bad. My mom doesn’t really get out much but we both left saying “we’ll that was the worst food I’ve had in a long time”. If you’re into dumplings, definitely go to Trader Joe’s and just heat some up in your skillet at home. No clue how this place has been in business for so long.
In this area, one of the best chinese spots to eat at, my first time I got the fried rice, it made me feel like I been missing out on this for years, and then if you DELIVER off ubereats or doordash, it's the same quality, and not expensive by any means. I usually always get the fried rice for 5-6 dollars depending which one, and it hits that spot everytime. If you have children, and want them to experience Chinese Food for the first time, and you live in the area, This jawn right here gone do what you need, for the perfect price.
New China King
Order the chicken and it was so HARD to eat texture wise and taste wise. Couldn't even pick it up with my fork! A couple hours later I was suffering from stomach pain. Shame on you Chinese place please shut down thank you
Really sweet people and great food! The language barrier messes up your price sometimes so it’s best to call ahead to order. One of my favorite places around here!
Lin Garden Restaurant
This little restaurant is a cheap way to fill up quickly. We stopped in for the $11 buffet, and small batches were available with a variety of choices. My favorite was the coconut chicken!!
We were not impressed. The crab Rangoon is over cooked and runny inside. The chicken and cashews would have been okay if it wasn't all celery. The picture I took is after I picked out all of the chicken and cashews and was left with like more than 2 cups of celery. That is gross. They need to cut that down to like 1 stalk maybe. Then the lo mein is just terrible. It was loaded down with mushrooms and we put in the instructions that we didn't want mushrooms in it. It was way too many to pick out and had to be thrown out. What a waste of $30. There is better Chinese over in Peru.
Hong Kong Buffet
It was so quiet in there there was no music, no TV playing, it was so strange. There was only one person working. However, it wasn't too busy she kept ours and the other peoples cups full. While trying to multitaskingand make food in the back, she did a wonderful job. The place was very dark inside some lights were off as shown in one of the pictures. The floor where the food was being served was sticky. The food itself was not very good. It was warm but not hot. The fried rice tasted like it was burnt. They don't serve sushi anymore. And there were 2 empty spots with completely empty pans, nothing was in them. What happened to this place, It used to be so good.
It's been many years since I went to this buffet restaurant in Lowell but I thought I would try it again tonight. I arrived at 6:30 p.m. and there was only one other party seated in the restaurant. That should have been a clue. Most of the food on the buffet looked like it had been in the warming trays for a long time. The quantity was very limited in each tray and several were empty. That makes sense if they don't get a lot of customers so they don't make much food. Some of the food tasted okay, some was way overdone. Based on my experience I would not go back. Maybe they are a better play for lunch if they are busier.
Hunan Garden
First time trying this place for take out. The food was not great. The chicken fingers were over cooked (almost as if they were refried), the lo mein noodles were overcooked so they were soggy and just disintegrating in your mouth, the fried rice was decent and the dumplings were good. It was a lot of money to throw away so much food. We won’t be returning.
The first time I ordered Orange chicken and I thought maybe it was an “off” day because the chicken texture was tough and dry like old or recooked chicken. Almost not being able to tell The breading and the meat apart….i I gave benefit of the doubt and ordered same dish a second time, a week or two later and sadly it was consistent with the first order. Rice is okay. Spring roll was slimy on the inside. I really Wanted to like this place seeing that it’s the closest Chinese food restaurant for 15 minutes distance.
Harvest Chinese Restaurant
This place is tucked away from traffic. Nevertheless, I wanted to try something new (or different). There's a variety of food selection from the menu, but it's a bit pricey for my budget. I didn't like their chicken with mushrooms. I barely saw mushrooms or chicken. I really didn't know what was in it. Overall, I'd say "just okay".
It taste really bad specially beef. I can smell that meat was cooked as a frozen. And eggroll don't spend money on it. Only rice was great. How things it looks like beef broccoli l. More than a half was a broccoli and beef was so thin smell stinks it went to trash straight.
Fortune House Restaurant
Large open dining area. Server was friendly and helpful. Crab Rangoon and fried dumplings were both very fresh and tasty. Entrees were generous in size and tasted great. Prices reasonable. This restaurant has quickly become our favorite in the area. Parking in back in large lot.
Great atmosphere, very clean. Staff friendly and service was excellent. Food was pretty good- had the almond chicken, gravy was a little sweeter than what I am used to but was still good.
China Wok
Oh my gosh , I had the bourbon chicken, it was so hard I couldn’t eat it. The fried rice was good but the chicken egg roll that I paid 50 cent extra was horrible. I think they gave me a steak and cheese egg roll😩..
Delicious food! We have tried several others in Gallatin and were disappointed. This will be our Chinese food go to!
99 Chinese Express
Wow. Just wow. If I could leave 6 stars I totally would. Easy to order, online interface is very self explanatory. Great for if you have anxiety making phone calls. All you have to do is place the order then go pick it up like 20 minutes or so later. Staff is very friendly. Greeted us with a smile. Quick service, in and out in less than 5 minutes. The food is amazing. We’ve had Chinese all over PA, and this has to be the best we’ve had. Nothing is over cooked or fried too harshly. The rice is so moist and soft. Hands down the best rice I’ve ever had. Everything we ordered was perfect. Will definitely be ordering again. Highly recommend whether you’re visiting or live in the area.
I think it's the best American Chinese food in the area their dumpling are awesome the food is fresh especially if you eat in house everything is fresh and crispy...there is always some condensation when you travel home with the food but that's just how that goes nothing wrong with the food itself the seafood specials are delicious the general so is great the lo mein is Soo good the fried rice is tasty I haven't had a good there I didn't like. I do wish they had scallion pancakes on the menu ( Chinese pizza) that's my only complaint but no Chinese places around here have it
China Kitchen
solid cuisine and prices! been going here since I was a kid, classic and delicious take out.
Mom-and-Pop family run Chinese food, cooked to order, as God intended. Food comes out steaming hot. Great food, very reasonable prices I had the Garlic Honey Chicken and it was very good. Most folks seem to do takeout, I ate in. I'm always on the lookout for family diners, and especially am a fan of family Chinese food. Couldn't find egg in the fried rice, only thing different I found. I recommend this place. , of you want good food. If you're pit off by rustic settings look elsewhere.
