Panda Cafe
This is a perfectly solid Chinese restaurant that does a large business in carry out. Twice, I have done a large order for a group meeting and everyone has been very happy with my choices from Panda Cafe. Chicken w/mixed veggies was a particular hit. In my most recent order an item was missing and they were very quick with options to make it right. Accidents happen and was quite pleased with the resolution.
Great classic Chinese takeout! The food is always tasty, portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable. Delivery is consistently quick.
Dumpling District
Dumpling District is located in the Ballston Quarter neighborhood and more specifically, inside the food court of the newly renovated mall. From mouth watering Dim Sum to savory full flavored soup, each meal is wonderfully crafted and prepared with love and care to showcase its exquisite taste of organic ingredients. The service is exceptional introducing a quick in and out method if in person and delivery using a food courier service. The staff is very friendly and professional making sure your needs are met. If you have an allergy or medical food condition then please do not hesitate to share this information with a staff member to see if adjustments can be made. I have been coming by and enjoying the family friendly service and not to mention the tasty food dumpling district prepared. I am eagerly awaiting a release of their logo as a keychain to collect as a souvenir and gift to family and friends. When ready to satisfy your tastebuds, then stop on by to the Dumpling District located inside the Ballston Quarter neighborhood here in Arlington Virginia. My apologies I forgot to mention that if you like dumplings then definitely try their rainbow soup dumplings or you can purchase it as a gift for a family member or friend. Be warned, they are extremely hot when you open to taste.
I stumbled upon Dumpling District in Ballston Quarter looking for a quick bite and am so glad I stopped. I was greeted immediately by Peter, the general manager, and he was so helpful in breaking down the different dishes and menu items. Very thorough in the descriptions of each. I love soup dumplings, so that was a must try for me. I went with a split of the mala (spicy pork) and crabmeat and pork soup dumplings. The broth was extremely savory and the dumplings held together excellently. The mala was rich in flavor and not too spicy at all and the crabmeat and pork complimented each other nicely. Peter pointed out that the pork chops were one of his favorites, so I had to try those. They weren’t too salty at all like some pork chops and were very tender, cooked to perfection, and no toughness. The flavor was delicious. I also got the braised pork belly bowl and the pork belly just melted in my mouth like butter. 10/10 this will be a regular spot for me. Peter was extremely inviting and you could tell he was very passionate about the dishes. All around an excellent experience you should try for yourself.
P.F. Chang's
My Amazing daughter wanted some PF Chang’s, so we decided to go to the location in Arlington, Va. We just left Pentagon City Mall and we were hungry after hours of shopping. I must say they didn’t disappoint on a rainy Thursday. The food was Good and the portion sizes are large which Is Always a Plus. The Service was Good overall even though at times our server was missing and more interested in the larger party that sat next to us. Besides that he was Friendly and still took care of all our dining needs when he was available. We will Definitely return to this location whenever we are in the area.
This place is a hidden gem. It is constantly visited by people picking up their orders, which means the food is in high demand. If you order off the happy hour menu, you will get a deal compared to other places in the nearby area. I would describe the prices as fair for the DC area. It is a well-managed venue that still looks shipshape. The ambiance is good for a birthday party or corporate event.
Peter Chang
Wow. Came for lunch at weekend. Not too busy. They have an all you can eat finding but we decided to order a la carte and were blown away by the fried pig feet. Seems like it’s braised as usual then fried Roth lots of aromatics. Very interesting and truly delicious days. Their fried duck rice was really well done. Shrimp and veg was good but not spectacular like the others. Lions head meatballs were also good but a little different. Will need to come for their AYCA dim sum!
Although it seems like quite a simple restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised by our experience here. There was no wait for a table, and we had good and attentive service. The food we ordered came in sizeable portions and everything was delicious, particularly the eggplant dish!
Tiger Dumplings
This is a great spot for Unlimited dumplings Buffett with bad service 🥲. The food tastes really great. We pretty much tried all the menu items and 90% of them were great. Lamb, Fish and Shrimp dumplings were our personal favorite 😋 I never had Fish or lamb dumplings, they set the bar very high. Lemon prawns and Dan Dan noodles were top-notch. Let's talk about the service now 😏 The service was very disappointing. Apparently this is a timed buffet we came to know when we are trying to order dessert,no one mentioned when we are seated or while we are placing the orders. We would have appreciated it if the waiter had let us know in the very beginning of our meal and check on us every 15 minutes to take our orders. They didn't let us order all at once when we tried to. The experience would have been better if the waiter had at least come for the last call or let us know that our time was ending in the last 10 minutes. They did a poor job while giving out the reservations which created this mess. Great Food Value for the money Bad service.
Everything was wonderful. We are Asian and loved everything we ordered; the service was excellent. The dumplings were fantastic. We took advantage of their all-you-can-eat restaurant week special. My 10-year-old son also enjoyed everything. We will definitely come back.
Panda Bowl Restaurant
We've ordered from this place a couple times. Everything we've had has been great - well seasoned, excellent sauces, good vegetables. The Orange Chicken is the best thing we've had, and the Sweet and Sour Pork is fantastic. But some of the other items are pretty heavily breaded, including the General Tso's. The Sezchuan Beef was also predominantly onions. Overall it's good, fairly priced, but some menu items have less meat than they should.
Friendly neighborhood Chinese restaurant. Nothing special, just good Chinese food. Best on Columbia Pike, and the owners are very nice people.
Eastern Carryout & Cafe
They need to give up the spot to the corner of this building I love the convenience of them location wise being right there but just wish it was a different restaurant. Their general tso chicken is hella bland and soupy. Then I walked in to order a Pepsi today and it was 29 days till expiration so the quality was off as far as flavor and carbonation I asked the woman for a resolution and she restrained and said I should still be able to drink it for $3.03 for an expired 20 oz. Pepsi I left it there. And gotta dispute it now just check your products before you pay
Pre-pandemic prices, $12.50 per entree is insane. Orange Chicken was mushy and not crispy though, but taste is fine.
Top's China
I've lived on the Pike for 6 years now. Tonight I finally decided to try Tops. I had a craving for Crab Rangoon and crossed my fingers this quaint little walk-in/pick-up spot would do the trick. The family operating the restaurant is so sweet and kind. They made my food fresh right in front of me. I ordered Crab Rangoon, which was AMAZING! I also tried their General Tso's Chicken, delicious! They give very generous portion sizes, too! This one meal is like 3 meals for me. Great customer service and food. I'm only sorry I didn't try their food sooner.
This food was not that good to me. I wanted it garlic sauce. The sauce was watery whatever they put on it and I had an egg roll with no flavor I have to stick with my Chinese restaurants on the Maryland side
Yunnan By Potomac
From the very minute, I walked in. I was greeted with not only a warm smile, but a genuine appreciation. The atmosphere is very modern, but the relaxed way you feel once you sit down, certainly embraces you to a good time. The small plates, appetizers, and the rest of the menu have an amazing variety to it. I would highly encourage trying new things because I was surprised at every return. The wood ear and mint salad was awesome, as was the dumplings, and to finish it off the fried tofu had a really great flavor to it. While my eyes were bigger than my stomach, I would definitely go back to try the many other things they have on their menu I will definitely be back.
Yunnan by Potomac offers a delicious journey into Southwest China with its award-winning Yunnan mixian (rice noodles) and shareable dishes like dumplings and bao buns. The mixian, whether in a rich broth or stir-fried, is packed with flavor, while the dumplings and bao buns are perfectly executed with tender fillings. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make it a great spot for both casual meals and special gatherings. If you're looking for bold, authentic flavors, Yunnan by Potomac is a must-visit.
Dumpling District
It was newly opened here at the Pentagon City Mall, food court level. The food here is pretty good. I had the shanghai shumai and the Rainbow Soup Dumplings. The dumplings are made in-house, which is nice to see. All the food is served to go for now. The prices are a little expensive but you have to realize that this is at the mall and not your typical hole in the wall restaurant.
Hidden gem! Amazing dumplings. The dough, the soup inside each dumpling, shrimp zucchini filling- wow. Definitely coming back. I just wish they served them on plates, not only for to go
Don Wang Chinese Food Express
I’m not feeling well today so my granddaughter made sure I had a meal delivered. I really enjoyed the shrimp fried rice and sweet and sour chicken. It was delicious hot fresh plentiful. This is one of the only places I order Chinese food from. Service is always great and fast . They have moved haven’t visited the restaurant yet l always get meals delivered.
The woman who took my order was very sweet, the man who delivered my food was very very kind also. The food was good, normal Chinese food, as you’d expect but the service was perfect for that I’ll more than likely make this my go to for when I don’t want to cook. ❤️
Good Fortune Chinese Restaurant
I order delivery from here frequently. We have never had to wait long for the food to arrive, and we have always enjoyed their selections. We ordered in bulk tonight and here are some of our favorites from Good Fortune. The portion sizes are great for the price. Even their egg roll is substantial in size. Tonight we tried their steamed dumplings for the first time, and thought the pork was wonderfully prepared. Would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a new go-to Chinese restaurant.
Order delivery from Good Fortune via Grubhub. In hindsight I am not sure why because the restaurant has its own drivers so next time likely will orderly directly. Anyway, ordered a Orange Chicken, of Medium Spicy, with White Rice. Also ordered Shrimp Toast. Got to me well within a reasonable time and the driver was polite. The Orange Chicken looked good and tasted even better. The Shrimp Toast was good and came on a bed of wonton 'sticks'. Which was nice. Overall I would say five out of five. Update - So, I ordered from Good Fortune Chinese Restaurant via Grubhub again. I ordered Lemon Chicken, with Lo Mein, and a side of Small Hot and Sour Soup. I ordered it around 12:05 PM. The restaurant uses its own drivers. He got lost and called me twice and was still lost for a time. I received the order around 1:37 PM. The Lemon Chicken was warm, the Lo Mein had congealed, and the Hot and Sour Soup was no longer hot. So that Five points I gave it? Now down to two. Update - Been ordering a lot of vegan dishes from the restaurant and they make very good meals. So increased the rating to four. Addition - Ordered General Tso's Tofu, plus some sides. It was very good and delivered on time. So increased the rating to five.
