Our favorite local Chinese place! My favorite part is honestly that they have online ordering. And my family orders like 10 things each time and have never had a miss. The orders are always accurate. Food is good, prices average. Definitely will keep returning.

Empire Wok Delmar N.Y Chinese take- out empire one of the better ones around for take-out, spare ribs was adequate, a bit dry. Shredded beef and string beans had nice flavor but should be more meat added,Shredded chicken with string beans, instead of Shredded should be bigger pieces added.shrimp broccoli had nice flavor .House special fried rice was lacking shrimp ,pork, chicken. Chicken wings delicious cooked perfect. Shrimp egg roll was dry. A few tweaks empire wok would do better for long time frequent customers .ingredients are fresh. If your in the area give this place a try.$$$

This is always the first place I recommend when people ask about Chinese food in Albany. They recently opened back up for dine-in service and it’s a joy to sit there for lunch. My recent favorite dish is the chicken with Chinese vegetables lunch special but have loved the congee and other dim sum items as well as classics like orange chicken and beef with garlic sauce. They’re also so nice!

I absolutely loved the lunch I just had here. I dined in and the owner was an absolute gem. She was warm and welcoming, and the meal I received really felt home-cooked. I chose Mongolian beef made spicy (a 6) and it was precisely what I'd hoped for. I especially loved the light touch of fresh ginger added to the stir fry. Next time I visit I'll crank up the spicy level a bit more, as I like it to hurt a bit 😄 I definitely recommend Ocean Palace.

It felt somewhat unwelcoming when we first arrived, as there was a brief period where no one acknowledged us. Eventually, a young man noticed us, seated us, and handed us menus. However, after that, we waited long enough to start wondering if anyone would actually come over to take our order. Once we did place our order, the food arrived surprisingly fast—probably within 10 minutes. While we’ve seen other reviews mention long wait times, that wasn’t our experience. The food was okay, but the lack of hospitality makes it unlikely that I’d return.

I visit here at least once or twice in a week. Best ever Chinese cuisine place for me. Even when I had Chinese food like mala xianguo in Korea, it couldn’t make me satisfied because I miss here! Servers all know me and know what I am gonna order before I have a seat 😂 always thank you so much and I’ll see you again! Mafo tofu, mala xianguo, guobaorou, dongpo pork, fried rice, milk tea, Chinese pumpkin pie, omg just soooo good!!!!!😋

Decent place overall, I'm glad we tried it. Almost everything is family style which I understand is common practice for this type of cuisine but it does make dining a little difficult if you have differing tastebuds than your companions. I appreciated the "American Chinese Food" section of the menu, they know how to captivate all audiences. Our server was nice and accommodating. It wasn't too busy as it was St. Patrick's day so we were one of the few tables but regardless the food came out very quickly and we didn't want for anything all night nor did we ever feel rushed even though we were there until closing.

Very satisfied with the authentic Sichuan dishes. The spice levels were something we really enjoyed. The dry hotpot was a good amount for the price. The service was also fantastic. Alcoholic options were on the higher price side so we avoided. Vibe was great and the restaurant is beautiful.

Ordered food delivered for five people this evening. Selections were cold, sesame noodles, shrimp, eggroll, eggplant, garlic sauce, sesame, tofu, vegetable mushu, shrimp, chow mein, and vegetable fried rice. Everything arrived hot and I think they are now my favorite take out Chinese in the area. Normally eggplant and garlic sauce is dripping with oil. This was not. Ditto for the tofu. There are slight extra charges for things such as putting egg in the vegetable fried rice, but it is made the way we asked it to be made, and the delivery was quick and accurate. much better than using an online ordering app. I think the restaurant makes it better with direct ordering and we did too. This will be our go to rather than the two or three others in the immediate area.

I asked for no broccoli. Half of my husband’s meal had broccoli in it. We got none of those fun, crispy wonton chips. My meal was to be vegetable. Do you see any vegetables?! For 10$!!

The staff from China are very friendly. The orange chicken is sweet and delicious! Although it’s American Chinese cuisine, it suits Japanese tastes as well. The portions are large, so we shared it between the two of us.

I have gone to the same Stir Fry 88 inside the Colonie Mall food court twice. Their food has been fresh. Their vegetables taste clean and fresh, and their noodles have flavor. Two women that work up front do their jobs well.

One of our friends recommended this place. We went there to try out. It was fantastic; we loved our food. Here is what we ordered: Steamed Pork buns Gong bao chicken General tao chicken Chicken with chilies All were yummy

By far the most authentic and delicious Chinese food I've had, don't be fooled by the outside this is an hidden gem with an extensive menu including so many vegan options and unique dishes like jellyfish and vegetarian duck! Hu's fried rice was my personal favorite as it was umami and spicy and I can't wait to come back and try all of their dishes and even as a vegan have so many to try

Food always is delicious, however the service is lacking. Our server was attentive but borderline rude. After my friend and I ordered the bigger soup and him seemingly disapproving of this decision he made it known. We had dined there before, we loved the egg drop soup, we each wanted a whole bowl. Then we were enjoying our food, my lychee martini was great, but as it got later we felt increasingly unwelcome. Our waiter even started singing a song within earshot of how we should go home to our families. It was not closing time and there were still other diners enjoying dinner, so was that really necessary? We were celebrating a birthday and ordered plenty, it just is not the level of hospitality I would expect from this establishment.

My Go-To for Authentic Chinese in the Albany Area: Ala Shanghai Let me tell you, if you're looking for truly delicious and authentic Chinese food in the Albany area, look no further than Ala Shanghai in Latham. This has easily become my absolute favorite spot. From the moment you walk in, you can tell they take pride in their food and service. The staff is always so welcoming and attentive, making every dining experience a pleasant one. And the food? Oh my goodness, the food! It's consistently outstanding. We have our go-to favorites, of course. The General Tso's Shrimp is a must-try – perfectly crispy shrimp coated in that classic, flavorful sauce. And the Eggplant in Garlic Sauce is just divine, so tender and packed with that savory, slightly spicy garlic goodness. But we've also ventured beyond our staples and been equally impressed. The Fish in Chili Sauce is a fantastic choice if you like a bit of heat and incredibly flavorful fish. And the Chicken in Black Bean Sauce is another winner, rich and savory with perfectly cooked chicken. Honestly, everything we've tried at Ala Shanghai has been top-notch. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients and the care they put into each dish. If you're craving authentic and delicious Chinese food with excellent service, do yourself a favor and check out Ala Shanghai. You won't be disappointed!

Thought we’d try ordering here again after some positive experiences in the past, we’ll go back to our usual place. Rock was found in our combination platter rice. Thankfully I wasn’t chewing hard but nearly chipped a tooth. My daughter ate her leftovers today and found a hair in it.

We ordered from J’s a few times just because it’s kind of out of our way from where we live. Every time it was great until this last time. I’m not sure what happened but we were both sick the next day. The General Tsos chicken was off. We picked up directly from the restaurant so it was fresh but I don’t know if we’ll order again.

I grew up in NYC and have been eating Chinese food my entire life. A friend recommended this place for take out so I have it a shot and ordered chow fun. It was awful. It was extremely overcooked, very mushy and not edible. I called to complain to give them an opportunity to make it right and they said I need to call uber eats. Uber eats didn’t make this food?! If you like Chinese food, do not order from here. I will not be back. There are many better places in the capital region to get good Chinese food.

Good fried rice at a super reasonable price. Was willing to take my order at 9:30 pm. Staff seemed nice.

Not my usual go to but they were closed tonight. Ordered via a delivery service and got a veggie egg roll, vegetable moo shu, lobster chop suey, and veggie fried rice. It was okay. It was typical take out Chinese. They deserve credit for having lobster dishes available. The fried rice, that I ordered with egg had no egg. There were NO packets of soy, duck, or mustard in the bag. I have never needed to ask for this at other places.

Got a pick up to go and the food was ready on time. Shrimp lo mein was very tasty. However, I do wish there were more veggies in vegetable and shrimp fried rice. Both dishes tasted bland. But the portions are huge and I would go again to try something else on the menu.

Usual go to was closed so tried Bamboo as was nearby. Combination plate was the usual size, filled a container. Veggies crunchy and they were willing to sub veggie fried rice and shrimp egg roll for pork. Nice thing was getting enough crispy noodles! Other places skimp and charge for extra.

I think this will be my new go to. Prices were good, flavor was awesome. Loved how many plants they have inside too. My husband and I ordered general tsao chicken combo plate, chicken with garlic sauce, crab Rangoon and pork egg rolls. it was not greasy at all. I loved the flavor of the garlic sauce! So many veggies with the chicken. This definitely feels like a healthier Chinese food option.
