Yee's Village
Good small town Chinese restaurant. I have loved eating here for 20+ years. Some love it. Some dislike it. We keep ordering, so we are fans. Nothing fancy. Chicken fingers, chicken wings, chicken skewers, and crab rangoon are favorites as well as the house lo mein. The menu photos under a red light and was not with image correcting. It came out colored like teriyaki beef - lol. Their big pull is being a local bar that is open late. I think they are the only one. Many locals enjoy sports and beers.
Local hang with great Chinese food and strong drinks I Recommend the pu pu platter and hot + sour soup
Panda Express
I have come to this Panda numerous times and no issues which is why it gets a 2 star. Today I encountered a worker that was unacceptable. I believe her name was Charlie or Carlie. My order was half rice and half chow mein but I got half vegetables half chow mein. What is weird about this story is that Charlie originally served me through the drive thru and she was very friendly. It was until I went inside and asked for a side of fried rice and things got weird. I told them about the mistake and Charlie made a condescending unspoken face to her coworker. Ifelt like they both knew something I didn’t and were pranking me? I felt super uncomfortable because now I’m thinking did they intentionally do something wrong to my food? I asked her “is something wrong”. I received no sorry or explanation she just made me feel like I was an issue. What I experienced was just weird and clearly an attitude issue. Chow mein tasted good and the honey walnut shrimp was excellent!
Can’t really give a good star because they didn’t have anything I tried to order!? 😂🙄They were out of everything I asked for loll. And the woman on the ordering system was very rude. I just felt bad, apologized and drove off. I had nothing to be sorry for. She was just being rude and pushy. After going for the cream cheese rangoons, then being told they “don’t have those anymore tonight” then being out of the fried rice. As someone who’s worked in a restaurant for the past 8 years- I was done. Super rude and not very restaurant-like of you.
China House
I love this place, they deliver and is always pleasant whether they deliver or I pick up. I alway get the beef with garlic sauce. I highly recommend. Their restaurant is clean but dated. I don't care if it's dated as long as it's clean and the food is good. I highly recommend
True Score- 3.5/5 Stars China House is my default option for Chinese carryout in Hamilton. In my opinion, it is the best in Hamilton in this regard (aside from Basil) and consistently has the best tasting food. Everything I have had is pretty good- however the egg rolls can be a bit chewy and the fried rice is kind of generic (although it tastes good). I think the chicken is excellent, the dumplings are great, and the lo mein is also pretty good. Staff is always very friendly inside, and that is a plus. It can quickly be an expensive dinner. 2 combos with a drink or 2 and an appetizer can easily run you 35 bucks. Depending on what you get. The place seems to be carryout/delivery only, as the inside is not suitable for seating to dine in. The blinds are all messed up, and in general just not an appealing looking place. The food and service are for sure the best in town, making this my default choice. Highly recommend! NOTE: Star rating based on my own formula consisting of flavor, cost, facilities, service, and overall satisfaction. Reviews are subject to change based on future visits.
China House
I got beef and broccoli and fried rice. Paid $24. I stirred my food because I thought maybe the broccoli was all on top. No it’s mainly broccoli. No meat at all. I drive 30 minutes here because I read a review that said great portions. Never again.
Ordered Governor's Chicken (#140) and an egg roll. Chicken was overcooked beyond belief, but sauce flavor was good. This used to be my favorite dish, but this experience ruined it. Egg roll is great as always. A real bummer of a meal, other than the egg roll.
Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant
Honestly the best Chinese I've ever had! The service was nice! The prices was on point!!They were very polite and made to food fast, it tasted so fresh and it was delicious! I would order here any chance I get!
Terrible!!! Food, service and atmosphere. Everything about this restaurant is awful. Do not waste your time nor money.
Chinatown Restaurant
I love this Chinese restaurant. The lady is really nice and the food is done really fast. The pork chow mein fun, and the sweet and sour chicken is my favorite. Their egg rolls are really good too. I ordered the vegetable soup and it’s not like regular vegetable soup. It has big chunks of vegetables just so you are aware if you wanted to order that soup.
My husband, my daughter and myself all got food poisoning this past weekend. That was the last time we will ever eat from there. We got sweet and sour chicken, shrimp fried rice and beef lo mien. NEVER AGAIN!!
Tianfu BBQ
This dish is called pork slices (the store says it’s all lean meat). I’ve ordered it many times. I personally like this dish because it’s all lean meat. I’ve told the store before that there was too much fat. The last order was much better, but after today’s order, there are still fat and hard bones. I specially took a photo after today’s meal... I originally went for all the lean meat, and I couldn’t eat even a little bit. Fatty meat, let’s not talk about the result. Is it because the kitchen chef’s performance is unstable or is it like this on purpose? Forget it the first time, the problem is this is the second time... Do I have to emphasize to them that they must have lean meat every time I order food? ? ?
The portion is large and the taste is pretty good
Li's Garden
Not sure why the all low star reviews, probably local uncle and auntie don’t come to write Google reviews. A friend recommended us to try this spot, and it was good. For their prices in today’s market, very affordable and big portion. Food is made when ordered, fish was fresh. Their spicy is different from Szechuan spots, where they are a northeastern region cuisine, so don’t expect ma-la, just kick in the mouth spicy, not complaining, just new experiences. Flavor is not top notch, but more like better than mom cooking. Lol the servers are friendly and attentive. It gets loud in there though, tables are closed to each other and patrons are mainly men and they can get loud. Beer is $3/bottle, where else can I get that deal?! I would recommend, if you want authentic Chinese northeastern food, but if you are looking for nice interior and ambiance, then this is def not the spot for you. If you are like me, price/portion/quality for ingredients, give them a try. They actually get busy fast, most tables actually made reservations ahead to ensure a table.
Terrible experience. Ordered a seafood soup and the photo had clams, scallop, etc. The soup we got had nothing but tofu and fake crab meat.
Han Song Ting
this is a long overdue review since this place has been around ever since I was little, about 12 years ago. I practically grew up with this place and so my review is going to be a bit biased since it holds a special place in my heart. I come here once every few months and the food here is consistently good, although I almost always get the same dish because it’s more of a comfort food for me. service: the employees are always so sweet and these ladies have been around ever since the start!! I’ve never ordered in english, though, so I’m not sure how your experience would be if you don’t know how to speak chinese, but trust me it’s worth it!! food: beef ma la tang(spicy hotpot / soup): 10/10 this is their specialty!! it’s what I always get :) it comes with an assortment of veggies and other… things (?) by default but you can always ask for less/more/none of the add-ons. and then, you’ll be provided with a side of the spicy sauce and this is really the core of the dish in my opinion. it really brings it together!! cold noodles: 9/10 I’ve only had cold noodles from two other restaurants so I’m not the best judge of this but it was yummy! kimbap: 8/10 not a big fan of kimbap in general but my friend got it so I wanted to try out of all three dishes, I can only vouch for the first dish because I always get it without fail. I only tried the other two because my friend got it and to be quite honest I think you could go to an authentic korean place for a better experience. don’t get me wrong, they’re still very good and the pricing is sooooo affordable (in this economy, it’s a shocker). but the ma la tang is really the star of the menu. atmosphere: this place is tucked away from the busy streets of flushing and it’s really quite clean and quiet! it’s always air conditioned / heated and you’ll almost always find a table to sit at since not many people go to this place. it could be quite hard to find it for the first time, though, since it’s at the core of a shopping mall-esque place. Id say just enter the mall, walk straight past the stairs and when you see a bunch of circular brown tables, that’s the place. price: at the time of review (august ‘24), the beef ma la tang is $12 flat (aka no tax, but maybe it’s because I always pay with cash?) and they strictly don’t accept tips which is interesting,, overall, would 100% recommend! luv it here I really wish I came here more.
Food - 4 stars Service - 4 stars Price - 5 stars Had dumplings and Korean seaweed roll (sushi?). Dumplings were a huge portion, but the skin was too thick. Seaweed roll was slightly oily, otherwise tasted great. Not much service as it is a food court style. But they did serve food fast. Meal costed only $11 which is great value.
Hunan Kitchen of Grand Sichuan
Love this spot!! They have really good over rice specials that gives you a lot of good and under $10. That’s extremely rare. If I am sick of Kabul kabab next door I like to come here.
My family have been regulars for > 8 years. Its authetic Hunan flavors with enough variety for vegetarias and vegans too. Thankfully they are able to tone down the spiciness to the right amount when requested. We have many favorite dishes such as grileed fish with black bean sauce, sizzling beef steak, cumin beef, sauteed eggplant, triple bamboo, cucumber with scallion sauce, tomatoes and eggs, steam dumplings etc. I read some of the negative reviews and i have never experienced any of that. My parents and I come here almost every sunday for the past several months. Food is consistently good, prices are average or better then some of the other restaurants in Flushing. The wait staff are very attentive and nice. The owner always greets us warmly when he sees us. Give it a try !
East Buffet
I recently visited Easy Buffet after a long time, bringing friends from California who wanted to try dim sum. Unfortunately, the experience was mediocre at best. If you go on a weekend around 12 PM, expect a 15-30 minute wait due to the huge crowd. The restaurant is busy, but the staff does try to keep things moving. Service was quick, and dim sum carts came by frequently. Most of the dim sum we ordered was just okay—nothing terrible, but nothing memorable either. The biggest disappointment was the deep-fried shrimp ball, which arrived cold and clearly had been sitting out for a while. This place is pretty far from the subway station, making it inconvenient compared to other dim sum spots in Flushing. If you're looking for quick, no-frills dim sum, Easy Buffet does the job, but there are far better options in Flushing.
We have been here years ago. A lot of times we came twice a week. And this place is holding the same: delicious Cantonese Dimsum. Which means they are one of the best dimsum restaurants in the neighborhood. Perhaps, for me, one of the best in the city.
Shun Won
Have been here many times for its BBQ meats, soy chicken and roast duck. I particularly liked the roast pork here. The char siu here is good. The roast duck could be a hit or miss. The last time I was there which was a few days ago, it was a hit! Juicy well roasted duck breasts were served to our liking. Very popular spot with the locals as their menu selections are extensive. Eat and run or take-away sort of joint. Great value eats! Would recommend this place if you are looking to fill your tummy without breaking your bank account. Plus, the experience staff members are always welcoming.
Delicious chinese styled bbq in a very no nonsense setting. Food is great quality, as is the tea. recco the roast duck most highly and the crispy pork a second third.
