Cate Zone Chinese Cuisine
Upon arrival you’ll find Cate Zone unassumingly located next to a Dierbergs, don’t let the location fool you, Cate Zone is not one of your standard Chinese takeouts, and offers significantly higher quality Chinese cuisine than one might expect. The staff are friendly and swift to greet and seat. Compared to the U City location, the Chesterfield location has a much roomier dining room that makes their decor pop. I ordered sweet and sour pork, braised pork belly, Chengdu chicken, Kung Pao chicken. The sweet and sour pork had a nice thick and light crisped fried layer and a healthy coat of sweet and sour sauce that paired well with the pork, the braised pork belley was succulent, well seasoned, and almost melted in my mouth, the Chengdu chicken also had a light crisp to the fry and was well seasoned and had mala chili oil aroma of Sichuan pepper and red chili pepper, the Kung Pao chicken was a little sweet and lighter on the mala than I would expect, but none the less far superior than many Kung Pao chicken dishes you’ll find in the area. I also ordered a Mapo Tofu to go, which made for a nice late night mala delight. You’ll be pleasantly surprised with anything you try at Cate Zone.
This place is much more spacious and quieter than the other one in Olivr and has no wait. They can accommodate bigger groups (with the cute turning table😙), and foodwise I think it's same (quality/quantity) as the other place - both are SO GOOD. Definitely try sweet and sour pork, mala stir fry, and sizzling eggplants🤤 I can eat here everyday
Kitchen 95
FOOD:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ EVERYTHING ELSE:⭐⭐1/2 Hear me out! First time here and on a first date. I hadn't gone thru the reviews but wanted to try a new spot. Open seating. Small dining area but it's fine. What sucked was WALKING OUTSIDE TO THE BACK OF THE BUILDING TO WASH MY HANDS before eating. That was bananas. It was 11 degrees out mind you. We were brought out paper plates and plastic cups prior to the good coming out...refer to pic. The food was brought out in to-go containers which turned out to be pretty convenient. General Tso’s Chicken: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Flavorful, fresh chicken pieces served with steamed white rice and a couple of FRESH broccoli florets. We asked for more. Chicken and Chili Sauce ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Tender crispy Chicken pieces on top of a bed of slaw drizzled with a really good and spicy chili sauce. 🤌🏾 I've never had anything like this before.
The restaurant was initially operated under Chef Ma's kitchen before this new owner bought it 3 years ago. It was changed to Kitchen 95. The restaurant was a family run business. The parents cooked the food in the kitchen and 2 children were helping out front. The food was typical Chinese with few Taiwanese dishes. The decor was simple and the place was clean. The 3 cup chicken and szechuan beef with leek were flavorful and delicious. The wanton noodle soup was luke warm and average at best. The service was slow. If you are in a hurry, it might be better to order advance so you don't have to wait for a long time. The price was reasonable and the staff were friendly. This is probably not the best place to take your date out, but this is a great place for good Chinese food.
Panda Chinese Restaurant
This restaurant normally delivers but we decided to eat in The place is very bare and not very clean We ordered the veg Mei Foon and the mixed vegetables On taking the order we requested them to make it a little spicy and the food turned out exactly as we had wanted it. The Chinese ladies at the counter seem to be first gen Chinese and had a hard time communicating in English The food was fresh and very tasty and very reasonably priced
Had lunch delivered. Delivery time was reasonable. The food was fine, but not very hot so the microwave was utilized. The sodas were large, but also warm and flat.
Quik Wok
I can't begin to tell you how sad I am that they're closed on Mondays, because this place never disappoints. I order from here ALL the time and so should you. The food is always on point and they're always super fast. GO HERE NOW they're amazing. Here are some pics from today. Pictured are Crab Rangoon, crab sticks ( they're so big and good and stuffed with crab) , Black pepper Chicken was so good and so were the chicken sticks. Thank you for sharing your flavors with us!!!
Everything we ordered was hot and freshly cooked. The house fried rice was delicious but included an odd cut of pork. I liked the pork wonton filling but the wonton wrappers were too thick.
A-1 WOK RESTAURANT
I remember when I first started eating here I ate it 3 days in a row it was so good, but on that fourth day I’m not sure what the problem was. Maybe it was because I came and 1 1/2 hours before they closed; which in my opinion still isn’t an excuse to give me what they gave me. The chicken in the rice wasn’t cooked all the way, and the crab ragoon was stale and tasted old like it had been sitting out. I get sick easily so that one time kind of made me nervous to eat there again. Maybe I’ll give them another try cause like I said I ate here 3 days in a row and everything was great.
Very mid food but what makes it worse is that they are so greedy with the sauce packets and will charge you for each sauce if you ask for more. Slow service and slightly overpriced priced
Kim Van Restaurant
Best St. Paul sandwich I've found so far. Sometimes a little salty, but still the best I've had. I've tried other food from here, but mainly come for the St. Paul. You can call in a pickup order, which seems to be what most people do. Or you can come wait while your order is being prepared. They have a dining room but rarely have I seen anyone eating there... the wait is usually something like 15 minutes. You ring a bell through the plastic partitioned ordering window when you arrive and someone will come out of the kitchen (if no one is already there) to take your order. This place isn't fancy by any means, and the tables seem like they could use a cleaning. Of note are the plants up front which are seemingly ancient. Lastly, not the St. Paul, but I went in late on a rainy night and had the best egg drop soup I've ever had. It may be because I was the only customer at the time, but I will definitely be back to try for that experience again.
Had a craving for the Hot Braised Chicken wings so we stopped in. We were less than impressed by the food and customer service. Called in my order ahead of time and did not leave home for 15 minutes to allow time for the food to be ready. When we arrive there was one person ahead of us and we waited for about 10 minutes while the staff member took his sweet time checking the customer out. Then a gentleman came in who walked to the front of the line and the staff member stopped helping everyone else to get him his meal. Probably won’t be back, great customer service is a pet peeve of mine. The hot braised was more like the chicken wings that Schnucks salad bar used to have. That recipe has definitely changed. The fried rice was very dry. Again under impressed.
Harold's Chop Suey
Got the Chop Suey.... Was amazingly good and authentic. Waited about 45 min for my food and honestly didn't feel very safe. A bunch of guys came in and was joking around and eyeing me up and down. I AM a smaller woman and was alone. The older man who served me was very sweet tho. I think he could tell I was uncomfortable so gave everyone their orders first so they were cleared out when I left. And for that, I would gladly wait 45 min again. The food really was phenomenal
Omg this food used to be good. Not anymore. I’ve tried twice and the last 2 times I literally threw my food out! Please do not waste your time like I did
China King
These were the WORST wings ever, the daughter was cooking. It’s like she fried them in soy and Worcester sauce and egg. Never again!!
Mmm been looking for sweet crab rangoon for a minute. My daughter told me this place had em. I actually ate a whole one order of 4 by myself. The egg rolls are pretty tasty too. Not undercooked at all. It all has a nice crunch in the right places. Oh prices very affordable.
Wonton King
I ordered Wonton King through DoorDash and one of the items I ordered was the spring rolls. I took a bite into the spring roll and realized the texture was strange, so I cut into it and realized the meat inside was completely raw. I called the restaurant and she said it contained shrimp and pork. I am absolutely shocked to have been delivered spring rolls with raw meat and would not recommend anyone to go to this restaurant.
Great Chinese restaurant. I had the orange chicken, and the flavor was very good. There is a little too much sauce for my liking, but it's definitely good. Wonton soup was good.
Wei Hong Seafood Restaurant
Excellent food, generous portions, easy and affordable delivery. Ordered a couple hours in advance and it was delivered exactly on time, hot and not soggy from steam (it hadn't sat around at all).
First review : Love it. We are taking a big group of friends next week. Latest update: Still love it. We tried the bakery next door after dinner this time also. I didn't realize it, but I'm pretty sure I've been there about 4years ago with my boyfriend. The food was still amazing. And, the wait staff is always very nice and accomadating. I don't understand why the others that rated one star did so. Maybe they are the kind of people that just like to complain, because I see nothing to complain about at all! We will be back. Dishes tried and loved: Jelly fish Spicy beef appetizer Seafood stir fry with chives Tofu with pork soup Salt and pepper squid Roasted duck Orange chicken Sesame chicken A combo fried rice with ham, chicken, and shrimp
Cate Zone Chinese Cafe
The skewers are their new dishes. Tastes so good. The spicy boiled chili oil fish is their recommended dish. Even it is oiled it tastes soft and not too spicy. I like the fried sweet potato very crispy. Overall good. It seems popular cuz it has limited space. I waited 30mins to sit. Expected during weekend dinner time. The server is very nice.
GOD I LOVE CATE ZONE! It’s the perfect cozy food for a cold day. I always get the braised pork belly rice and the sizzling tofu. My boo ordered a beef dish and the sweet and sour pork. All dishes were DELICIOUS! Service was great as always and the ambiance is cute :) just make sure you get there early cause it books up fast!
Yet Bun Page
The best Chinese food in the world great service and great people. I've seen them have to deal with some wild people and service the next person with great respect a staple in the community.
This is CASH only. I got the chicken St. Paul sandwich. I didn’t know it was cash only so I had to go withdraw some cash. The sandwich was really good, it was my first time trying one.
