Hy-Vee Chinese
30 minutes until close with no cook.... had to get husband something else than what he planned on and wanted. If the hours are 11 to 8, then a cook or two (you know for breaks and other duties) need to be scheduled for that time.
The food was old and did not taste good. The employee working Chinese counter told us if we wanted fresh food we should have come in around 5pm. The cashier, different person, then says the the reason the food was so bad was because of corporate and that "that's why I don't even eat here". We were there before 7pm. All of the tables were dirty and trash over flowing. I don't think I saw any employees that cared.
Pak Ling Express
I don't know how this place has a 2.4 rating. 4 of us went in. Got 2 orders on sesame, a order of general tsao and garlic chicken. Everything was freshly made really quick. Hot and fresh with insane flavors. The garlic chicken fell apart as I was eating it was so tender
My daughter, myself and 2year old grandson just went here today, riding the streetcar from city market to crown center for an adventure. Of all of the amazing restaurant choices - we chose this one for one meal for the 2 year old. got the larger $14.99 meal with crab Rangoon. First thing was the older gentleman taking the order never spoke, just seemed to be in a bad mood. Chewy cold chicken that tasted 3 days old. I got a meal elsewhere and joined my daughter. when we were leaving and asked for a simple plastic bag to carry the leftovers in - the older gentleman shot his arm out finally speaking for the first time saying to get a bag around the corner. I opened up the tray to show him that the leftovers were from there and he handed over a bag. Just an ugly personality and the food wasn't worth the price - cold and chewy. There are so many better restaurants in crown center that I would advise travelers go to.
Panda Express
Somehow this Panda Express is always out of food that you try to order. Either the staff needs to be trained on busy hours and how much food to prep for each shift or better staff need to be hired. (With better pay) I’m tired of being told “we’re out of this menu item” every single time I come to this restaurant. I never have this issue with any other Panda Express I go to.
The team is always polite, focused, and diligent even when out of product or low on staff. The manager is always super friendly any time there happens to be a small issue. Thankful they do the work they do!

Delivery was not good at all egg rolls was cooked too long burned. Mongolian beef was cooked too long there was almost crispy Just a waste of my money. Wonton soup had a tagging taste. Just my bad choice for dinner tonight.
I just wanted something quick and cheap before my next client and I hate I wasted money here. The steamed dumplings were super greasy and had a foul taste the inside was burnt. They also gave me hot chilly oil sauce with them. The spring rolls were put together horrible and still cold on the inside. I DO NOT recommend
Hy-Vee Chinese
This used to be amazing. The recipes seem less consistent these days. The egg drop soup was incredible at one point. Now, it’s just bad. Early on, we’d purchase a staple served from the line of mushroom chicken. They stopped making that as a serving line item several years ago, so we’d special order it. Now if you special order it, it tastes awful. Disappointing. If you purchase sweet and sour chicken, they no longer have the sauce heated on the line. They give you condiment packets and good luck getting enough for the meal. We’d probably buy Hy-Chi at least once a week if there was the consistency and closely followed recipes as it was a few years ago. We gave it a shot a couple of weeks ago to see if perhaps it had gotten any better. Nope, it was even worse. Like I said, disappointing. On the upside, the fortune cookies are still good. While it’s a bit of a different cuisine, we’ve found the Japanese restaurant, Tokyo grill, in the strip mall next to Hy-Vee. It’s very consistent and delicious. Asian food. They’ve been getting more of our biz lately.
I got the dinner for 2. It was terrible the orange chicken was super sweet even for my little girl and she love sweets. The fried rice was really plain no vegetables or egg, and beijing beef was to sweet to. First and last time eating in here

KC China Cafe
Great food for great prices and excellent customer service. Would definitely recommend to a friend.
Panda Express
Understand that it’s fast food but I feel like I should still get what I ordered/paid for. My side of chow mein was only cabbage. Would’ve got a different side that I could actually enjoy if the cashier just let us know they were already out.
On multiple occasions that I've been here, I've had to wait over 20 minutes in the drive through, I get the wrong food, or they tell me they're out of what I ordered when I get to the window. Last night it happened again. They could've told me at the speaker, but neglected to. Made me pay and then the girl comes back and says "Oh we're out of broccoli and beef do you want something else? I would give you a discount, but you already paid." How helpful. This place sucks. If you can make the trip go to the one on Stateline. They'll always treat you right.

The place smelled like feet and vomit. Roaches crawling on the floors while I was going inside… stay away!
Only place I go for Chinese
China Dish
The pricing list online is WAY OFF of the actual pricing once you get inside the restaurant; I felt like they knew what they were doing here, price gouging. It was only a man & woman inside of the restaurant. The female came to the counter first but got aggravated by my constant questioning of the menu & pricing vs what we saw posted online. The man took our order & our food took roughly 15 min. for completion. The rice & St. Paul we ordered were good but I don't recommend the crab rangoon.
Average MO Chinese take out. Gave them a try since they do Springfield Style Cashew Chicken. It is decent but way too much soy in the sauce and in the fried rice. Overpowering soy/salt flavor.
