First timer here but pretty disappointed. We ordered a stir fry garlic watercrest ($18.95) and a clay pot taro and roasted duck ($28.95). Definitely way overpriced for what it is!!! First of all, the amount for the dishes are soooo small and we both walked out still hungry. Also, I don't think this veggie is watercrest. I'm not a plan biologist but this is definitely not the watercrest I used to have like in other Chinese restaurants. Eyeball net weight of this dish is probably 8-10oz? $21.95 for real??? And It's not like the taste is so heavenly to be worth this price. Don't get me started on the clay pot duck. A small amount of duck pieces and every piece is sooo fatty and couldn't even be consumed. There are also a few pieces JUST the skin!!! 40% napa cabbage on the bottom, 30% taro and 30% duck with which 70% fat?!?! We also didn't get a fruit plate at the end like any other table did....... I asked to switch an order 5mins from it being placed and was told that the chef has started cooking it. I was like fine. Waited close to 40mins to have the first dish on the table? What kind of veggie takes 40mins to cook? I have an assumption that they prioritize who ordered the expensive dishes because whoever came after us and ordered lobster has gotten way faster than our stir fry veggies! I know inflation is a thing but don't be taking advantage of customers like that?!

We absolutely adore this restaurant—it’s a family favorite and a regular go-to spot for us! Whether it’s dim sum or dinner, we’ve visited countless times and have never been disappointed. The dim sum here is fantastic, featuring all the classic dishes you’d expect, and everything is always fresh. With so many options to choose from, it’s easy to get carried away, but going with a group is a great way to sample a variety without overspending. Depending on when you come, you may have to wait, but usually not too long. The food is authentic, delicious, and absolutely worth the wait. The service is another standout feature. The staff is exceptionally friendly and attentive, always making sure we have everything we need. They go above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and appreciated. As for the menu, it’s incredibly vast and caters to both newcomers to Cantonese cuisine and those seeking authentic, homestyle flavors. Some of our must-order dishes include the Beef Chow Fun in soy sauce, garlic bok choy, fried jiaozi, and their flavorful soups. The portions size are large leaving you with lots leftovers. We can’t recommend this place enough!!

I love everything about this place!! It's old school style food and done just right. The people here are wonderful and kind folks that cook incredible food. It's very reasonably priced and the quality is first class. the chicken is real and white. Not those flat weird gray pieces that look like they were run over. The egg rolls deserve praise. Look closely and notice there is no oil build up on the ends. Every bite is good. The gravy is like Thanksgiving quality. The chicken fried rice is heavenly. I just can't say enough!!

I thought I would help this restaurant because they do not have a website. The only pictures you can see are from other customers so I took pictures of all of our food. We were very happy with the choices and we both felt like it was really good flavors on each different entrée. We got the chicken lo mein, the beef with mix vegetables, the pork egg foo young, and the pork fried rice. Two appetizers, the steam dumplings, and the eggrolls. My favorites were the steam dumplings with the excellent sauce , the white meat chicken lo mein, and the pork egg foo young. The sauce was authentic and have great flavor. The eggrolls are kind of boring and taste so like any other restaurant, but I was happy with the large servings and prices were amazing. They really should have a website with current prices and menu but even though we didn’t know the prices, it was a super great value when we got the total at the pick up. Would recommend!!

The egg foo young was nasty not flavored at all & there was egg shells in it as well. They only gave me 1 duck sauce & told me its 10 cents for each after that. I wanted to sit & wait for the bus I had to explain my living situation before she backed off about letting me eat there. There’s a sitting area in there to wait and eat your food, but she wasn’t gonna let me eat my food. I was hella irritated. The food is not good the egg roll was decent. I threw the rest of my food away waste of money & the customer service needs to be changed. A rude older lady took my order & I will not be returning ever again. She needs to go in the house & relax or something. What Chinese food restaurant doesn’t make shrimp egg rolls ??? On top of that, she charged me extra to make my shrimp egg foo young a combination plate. I got eggshells all up through this dish & and I barely taste any shrimp! I wanna call the police I feel like I was robbed!

Was craving some good chow Mein and gave this little place a try. It’s incredible! The chow mein was fresh and delicious, the beef fried rice had large pieces of tender beef and was cooked to perfection. Egg rolls were crisp and flavorful. Very friendly service and wonderful food! Will definitely return.

This is one of those low key hidden gem restaurants that serve authentic food without a doubt, because it's not only difficult to locate, but also relatively exclusive in terms of its clientele. I enjoyed everything I have had here so far and definitely appreciated the authentic aspect of the food they have. The only improvement I could suggest was the taste of a lot of their dishes, as flavors tended to be on the mild side. It doesn't mean their food is any less authentic, though, and I would recommend all that are looking for authentic Chinese food to visit here. Individually, I ordered dishes that I would normally order in Chinese restaurants, so while I am not sure if there's anything I can necessarily recommend yet, I will say that I thought every dish I have had were above average in comparison to the same dishes I have had elsewhere. My favorite so far is the fried pork in scoop (锅包肉) and I don't even regularly eat pork. There was a nice layer of sweetness and sourness witht the sauce outside the pork pieces. The vegetable dishes like eggplant in garlic sauce (鱼香茄子), green beans with garlic (干煸四季豆), and Chinese cabbage (手撕包菜) are all tasty enough. The Chinese cabbage contained a lot of vinegar, and I bet some people would enjoy that. I didn't taste enough cumin in the cumin lamb (孜然羊肉) dish, but there was an abundant amount of lamb and I appreciated it. The spicy pepper chicken (辣子鸡) was very delicious and had the right amount of spice in my opinion. There is a Relaxing Healthy Center that's connected to the restaurant and apparently that establishment has been very popular, especially in the evenings. I have not visited there yet but I heard that it was similar to saunas in China, and I would love to visit there soon. Regardless, this is a hidden gem, hole in the wall, type of spot and I would definitely recommend everyone.

On a Saturday at 11:30 am, we arrived at the restaurant and found that we had the entire place to ourselves. The interior was spacious and bright, with plenty of natural light. Our server was friendly and helpful, answering all my questions about the menu. We ordered dumplings, general tao’s chicken, shrimp fried rice, and beef fried noodles (lo mein). Every dish was fantastic! Unlike most Chinese food that can make you feel heavy and bloated, the flavors were light and delicious. We were impressed with the quality of the food; the shrimp fried rice had large, fresh shrimp, and lo mein noodles were cooked perfectly. I know this place is a hit or miss from previous reviews but give it a chance yourself. We highly recommend this restaurant to friends and family and will definitely be returning. We hope that it will be around for many years to come! I had to mention their spicy pepper chicken and Kung Pao chicken that we tried the other day! I'm so happy I asked the server what her favorite dish was- spicy pepper chicken isn’t as spicy as it looks and packs so much flavor and crispiness! The Kung Pao was very light and fresh!

New location, bigger, brighter, spacious layout with average service. Understandable under staffs during soft opening. Water, tea, Digital and eliminated dimsum menu provided once we seated. But it takes a very long time to flag a staff to place the orders. The orders take even longer to arrive on the table. It wasn’t busy. If you have little ones, you should order once you seated. The wrapper of the shrimp dumplings and chive dumplings were a little too thick. custard pineapple buns with coconut were very dry. Pork dumplings and Mild sweetness egg custard was okay. Tender Pork with salted and pepper and flavorless crispy noodles with chicken and vegetables was average. Extremely bland string bean dish and Shrimps, eggs and chives dish contains mostly chives( the worst I ever had). Overall every single dishes were lack of flavor/lack of seasonings. Hopefully it will improve in the future.

3 stars is being nice more of 2.5 ✨. Putting in consideration that it's a soft open at the new Bloomington location and that we came before the Friday dinner rush. Waited a little bit to get a tablet to see the menu and sat awhile to put in our order... That was just the beginning of it all. It took 35-40 min for food to completely come out. Food was warm/cooler than it should be. It seems like it was sitting in the kitchen for awhile waiting for the waiter to serve it. An extra 40+ minutes literally in waiting for the check to come out and they have the audacity to charge 18% for a family of 3. Trust me we were not the only unhappy ones waiting for the check. Bill came out to be $145. I saw an older couple in their 80's sitting there waiting for the check way before us and the husband had to walk around struggling with his legs to find someone to ring them up. Smh 🤦🏻‍♂️We tried to flag down 3 different staff to get our check. Don't even ask about how long it took us to get togo boxes. After asking 3 staff we still waited for a long time. It got to the point my wife stood up, raised her voice very uncommon for her to do that and waived the guy in front (host/owner) to ring up our check. It was not a good experience! Food was good slightly salty but there was no refills on the water or extra napkins. Very understaffed but don't do that - Service is service and you deserve tip when it's earned. Charge when it's 6+ people or more. Very disappointing! Wait for this place to get their kinks situated before trying it out because it not worth the long wait IF you're a loyal fan of the original location at the UofM. Location is very inconvenient and tucked away between hotels, motels, and business buildings across from Walmart. Somewhat going out of your way to find it.

Update: I come here at least once a week for sushi. The sushi is always top tier. got my lunch from here today and overall it was a great meal. The sushi was extremely fresh and absolutely phenomenal. Their sushi was actually better than most places I’ve been that are dedicated to sushi. The orange chicken itself was good, nothing too special. The rice was very DRY! Other than the rice being dry, it was pretty good. You can kind of see how it’s like sticky rice so it dried out really fast once I opened the container to eat. I will definitely come back here for the sushi and roll alone!

Ordered on line for four people. Ordered at 12:30pm for a 5:30pm delivery. Great on-line site to order. Forgot an item so I called and man on the phone was able to pick out our order and add the item. Came right on time and food was nice and hot. Very polite delivery person. Portions were generous and everything we ordered was correct. Hopefully other people have the same experience.

First time visiting for dinner in between dance classes and the food and prices blew my mind! We ordered the steamed dumplings, beef chow fun, salt and pepper squid, and the honey walnut shrimp. The portions were generous! The flavors were delicious! So glad I found this gem and I will be back to visit many more times. Service was also great and incredibly friendly.

This is a small restaurant in a strip mall. The food is decent, above average for the price. There are the usual lunch specials and also a buffet at lunch (don't know about other times). I have not dined in, but the place is modest and quiet. Carry out is fairly quick. Staff are considerate and courteous.

I've had lunch here twice, and on both occasions (it was not busy during lunch time), I was impressed by the overall experience. The service was consistently attentive and friendly, with staff frequently checking in to ensure everything was to our liking and promptly refilling our drinks without us having to ask. The lunch specials are definitely worth trying—they don't disappoint. Each dish arrived freshly made, showcasing vibrant flavors and careful preparation. The portion sizes were generous, offering great value for the price. It's clear that quality and customer satisfaction are priorities here. Whether you're looking for a quick bite or a leisurely meal, this spot delivers on both food and service. Highly recommend giving it a try!

We tried Pagoda for the first time on Lunar New Year- January 29, 2025. It was about half full. What a fantastic restaurant. We ate at 7:00 during the week so there was not an all-you can eat option for dim sum, but they offer dim sum a la cart. The turnip rice cake was amazing. It’s not a sweet cake, but a savory cake. It had Chinese sausage, rice, and turnip. The outside texture is crunchy and the interior is silky soft. A nice play of contrasting textures with an occasional bite of a sliced Chinese sausage. The orange chicken tastes like the orange chicken I make at home with real orange juice. The ratio of batter to chicken is perfect, not too much batter. The Honey Walnut shrimp has large shrimp with a contrasting sweet and salty flavor. Yum. I love tofu and again, there is a play on texture. The outside initial bite had a great crunch and then the interior was silky smooth. It was appropriately seasoned. It wasn’t too spicy if I didn’t eat all the sliced peppers. My favorite was the weekly special of deep fried Pompano. Nice crunch on the outside and moist flaky fish. It was a great choice, but temper your expectations because it’s a smaller fish and I was satisfied with the amount of meat on the fish. Overall, a great place to eat and I would recommend this restaurant.

Note to readers: Please read the entire review I’ve provided as there is both good and bad elements and in fairness to the business I want to provide a complete overview. Thanks! First the not so good stuff: Food is standard / unspecial and my meal seemed very heavy and dense. The offerings are mostly what you might expect from a standard Asian-fusion menu. One nice feature of the menu is that in addition to Chinese cuisine, New Fresh Wok also offers a sushi bar. Personally, I was not impressed with the food and the three other people I dined with, all of which ordered different items, generally felt the same way but as a vegetarian I was particularly underwhelmed. If you do find something on their menu that you like, then you are in luck because the portions are absolutely enormous!! I mean huge, like massive. So expect to go home with to-go containers as well. The other unfortunate report is that the bathrooms are very unclean - it was sort of nightmare getting my toddler to use the facilities giving that every surface was basically a petri dish. They could definitely do much better in the house keeping department without question. Now for the good and even great stuff: This restaurant features a very unique serving staff! You order your food up at the front of the house but then……wait for it…..soon arrives a robotic kitty waitress who brings each table their food, equipped with under-glow, LED whiskers and a little musical tune announcing its arrival and departure. This was A BIG HIT with all the kiddos at the restaurant, including mine, and it was fun to experience this novelty in action. Hard not to smile. Additionally, the restaurant features another playful automation system - cotton candy machine! For $5 you can choose from a wide variety of shapes and colors (flowers/hearts/domes etc) and the machine spins up a sugary confection and everyone who did this while I was at the restaurant left with a big smile. The kids generally loved the cotton candy machine as much, if not more, than the two kitty robots zooming around the modest-sized dining room. I hope this review helps folks make some informed decisions in your eating-out adventures in the Twin Cities!

New Fresh Wok – 3-Star Review I recently visited New Fresh Wok in St. Paul, MN, and had a mixed experience. I ordered a spicy tuna roll and a Philadelphia roll, but unfortunately, the Philadelphia roll didn’t taste as fresh as I expected. The restaurant has a unique concept with a robot server, which I actually found to be efficient and fun. However, the customer service at the register was a letdown. The receptionist was rude, making the ordering experience unpleasant. If they’re going to require customers to order at the register, they should at least ensure that the human interaction is welcoming. Otherwise, why not just let the robot handle everything? Overall, the idea of robotic service is cool, but the food quality and human service need improvement. I’d rather go somewhere else for fresher sushi and better customer service.

Flew in from CO and just experience the best Chinese food I’ve ever had in the US so far. We were in the neighborhood and caught a delicious smell of Chinese food, so we wandered around until we found this place and man, the food was as yummy as it smelled! We had cheese wontons, egg flower soup, and chicken with broccoli. The wontons had a thin delicate crispy fry on them and were filled with cream cheese, the soup had a rich broth - one of the best we’ve tried, and the sauce on the chicken with broccoli was so flavorful and the broccoli was still slightly crispy. Not sure who this chef is, but this will be a must go-to every time we’re in Minneapolis. Nice work guys! Delicious food, friendly staff, clean restaurant, at a great price. Go check them out!

Great spot for that Chinese food from your childhood small town strip mall. The atmosphere is stark at best and be prepared for some off-putting odors. Grab your food to-go if this might bother you. That being said, the food here makes it all worth while. We ordered the egg foo young and the Szechuan tofu. Service was slow, but the staff here are kind and apologetic -great people. The Szechuan sauce was the perfect balance of salty umami with a touch of sweet, and heat that creeps up on you. The veg really was cooked to perfection. Cooked through, but still a nice crunch remaining. This was my first egg foo young experience and it was great. That brown gravy is special stuff. The best part of the experience after the food, is getting the check. This place is impossibly affordable. Two people can easily split one entree and still have leftovers. If you're looking for that old school strip mall hidden gem, this place will tick that box.

The service was excellent one of the best I have encountered in awhile.

Food was great. Service was great. The atmosphere was pretty quiet, albeit it was a Thursday evening. Cost $100 for lo mein, lemon chicken, steamed dumplings, general chicken with fried rice and sesame chicken. A lot of food.

Great Chinese restaurant. The wontons are lusciously creamy, like the filling is whipped and extra effort put into making them. I had never seen lemon chicken on a menu before, had to try. Loved it! The garlic chicken is yummy. The fried rice is excellent. The owner Yin served our food, very friendly, excellent service.

Very friendly staff. Excellent Chinese food with great flavor. Big portions. And clean food. Would definitely go again. Family oriented
