Panda Express
Broccoli beef and noodles was borderline impossible to eat. Noodles were not fully cooked and the broccoli had a cheesy smell and taste. And then that was 9$
This location seemed closed for the summer months. They should update their hours. Update: July 31st Wednesday 12:41pm Definitely closed for the summer months.
Garden Lee Restaurant
We LOVE Garden Lee! I’m a little embarrassed to admit that we come here almost weekly and they know our orders. 😆 The owner is very sweet and the food is so, so good. Our favorites are the chicken lo mein and the pineapple rice (both are pictured below)! 🤤
Wonderful food that fills up all us big eaters and super friendly, fast service. Worth a little drive!
Asian Taste
We got quite a variety of food for pickup this evening and it's all delicious! Their orange chicken is like none I've ever had before, it has a heat to it but it's amazing! All the veggies cooked perfectly in the noodles and sauces for all dishes were on point. The lady running the phone and orders in front out was very nice , I can't wait to order again.
I just got back with my take-out order of chicken lo mein, and the reviewer who said there was no chicken meat in it, just fried chicken skin, was absolutely correct. I dug all through the styrofoam container and found lots of chicken SKIN, but not a single piece of meat. I remember wondering as I was waiting for my order why the cook was doing so much chopping in the kitchen; now I know. Mine was the only order being prepared, and I now believe he was removing the skin to fry. The noodles, sauce and spring rolls were all very good, but buyer beware. If you eat here, order only veggie items or those containing shrimp. I’m assuming you will get actual shrimp and not the shells or tails.
Panda Express
I don't know what was worse, the metal shaving in the orange chicken or having to argue to get the money refunded. You have cc card system and can refund as easily as you take transactions. Seriously needs customer service lacking is an understatement. "Really, there's nothing we can do" until mentioning health inspector and I get my refund in cash.
Smaller mall location results in a sparser selection. But the orange chicken was still fresh. No self-serve fountain making refills more challenging. But they did have Coke Zero on-tap.
Juan Lin
Just moved to Allegan from Detroit. First real restaurant I've tried out since my arrival. Will patronize them again for sure. One comment is that so many Chinese places today do not add peppers, onion and pineapple to their Sweet & Sour. It would be nice if they included veggies in their S&S here. Not a criticism, just a thought. Everything was cooked well. Nothing was overdone or underdone and the flavor was spot on. A very good carry-out experience!
Decided to try the take out, it’s a clean space the owners kids are knowledgeable and very polite. The food is delicious! Great flavor and spice! Out of all the Chinese takeout restaurants this one is in my top 2!
No. 1 Chinese Restaurant
Thought I'd give this place a try! Ended up getting general Ty's chicken and pepper chicken and the food tasted good and the amount that you got for the price you pay is not bad it's just that it is not a sit-in restaurant. It's only takeout and when you put fried food into styrofoam containers, the food becomes soggy from the steam before you can even eat it.
Very kind and always provide free dessert when we tip them. Even when they mixed up an order one time they let us keep all of the food and then we got our original meal as well. Support local businesses :)
Panda Express
Food was good, note that they do not take online ordering or coupons from the app.
Went in to get my food, waited about 40 min and while it was good was overcharged around $5 so I went back an hour later at a time when it wasn’t so busy to only wait in another 30 min line. Then I had to swipe my card again to only get the exact amount that was overcharged, no refund or compensation for wasting my time which is normal here at Oakland honestly.
China House
I want to start by saying this was not a bad experience! The sweet and sour chicken and rice was great... but I'm critical about the crab rangoons they were a preeeety light on the filling it was basically just a fried wonton.. i primarily go for rangoons when I'm craving Chinese so I was a bit dissatisfied.
Ordered a dinner with the pork fried rice and was offered one that a customer did not pick up. I questioned it when I opened it and thought maybe the pork was buried in it since I was told again that it was pork fired rice. There was 4 little pieces or pork in the rice. Called the restaurant with no help or assistance. Makes it hard to help business when this is what you get in return.
China Garden Restaurant
We always get take out. They are fast about getting the food ready and it is always good. Our Grandchildren love it and prefer it over any Chinese take-out.
Fast service, friendly people. Below average food, not much flavor. Clean and small interior.
Royal Palace Of Troy
Terrible Dim Sum and terrible prices. Quality is horrendous and let me explain. Congee is full of flour instead of rice. Beef tripe has no flavor. 蘿蔔糕 turnip cake, the turnip and flour is separated so every bit you either get turnip or a mouth full of flour. Ground pork in dumplings is old so tasted gamey. 糯米雞Lotus wrapped chicken is too greasy, too much pork fat in the stuffing. Tea is $3.50 a person. If only one person in a group get tea they still charge everybody which is ridiculous. I don't have high hope for good quality dim sum in metro Detroit but this place should close soon. Basically they use the cheapest Ingredients they can buy and charge full price for it. Might as well buy frozen dim sum and steam it at home instead of wasting time and money here.
While I have heard good things about here and their dim sum menu. I was not impressed. Some items were much higher priced than they should have been. The selection was smaller than China Palace and Shangri-La, and what I ordered wasn't as good. Menu did have a wide choices of other more traditional Chinese dishes and some American Chinese. Some aimed for family group like all the soups being for 4-6 people. Every one in the group did enjoy their food and the amount of dishes were good size. Service was good and the food came out fast. We were even allowed separate checks. Lots of parking available. No fountain drink do diet Coke in a can and I had to ask for a glass of ice. Glad I tried it, but the group agreed we will stick to other places for dim sum and traditional Chinese food.
East Lake Chinese Restaurant
My mom is a regular here and I just wanted to comment that today, the tables were not full after 1pm. There was no reason for the food to have taken so long to cook or bring out to the table. We were there almost 3 hours. 8 dim sum dishes and one pan fried noodle dish. Customer service was lacking most of the time. My mom had to call on a waitress everytime to get something or check on our order. There were a few items we initially wanted too, but never came, so we canceled them. I'm not sure what was happening today, but everything seemed a bit off. We had places to go after lunch and pushed back the schedule to meet up with friends, since we were still at the restaurant without the rest of our order. Hope next time is better. Food quality and taste are great. I definitely recommend and would go back. However, I hope they take note on the service being slow and not attentive.
We tried their dim sum and steamed fish. The food and experience is great! The tofu pudding with ginger syrup is also very refreshing. Great for a chilly winter!
Panda Express
A really decent Panda Express. I like Panda Express. I've always been a fan of american-chinese. In the last few years Panda Express has been steadily going downhill. The prices are up and the quality has been WAY down. I was pleasantly surprised this time. I have not been to this location before but I will be back to this one based on today. The portions were actually what I expected. They were making it fast and fresh ( meaning. They had enough traffic to keep up) and the service was good, everyone was friendly. The place was also clean and this is a nice spacious restaurant. I highly recommend THIS Panda Express location. I won't speak to Panda as a whole any more since it's so hot and miss.
Very fresh and well prepared food. This location had polite and fast service. Will definitely be back.
