New China House
We asked for tender Broc. And extra sauce. Broc was tuff, and no extra sauce. The older man driver would not get out the car and called me outside to get my food . Rice was dry . We threw the food out.
Ordered for delivery tonight over an hour and 15 minutes and 2 calls before we got the food. Food was cold! Called again they blamed the cold weather for food getting cold in the car. We live 5 minutes away! She offered10% off my next order. Sorry won’t be ordering again🥴
Nirvanis Indian Kitchen
Very very neat and clean place. Foods are super delicious. Naan pizza aroma is so good I can not explain. Must try
The best thing about this restaurant is that they stay open until 3am. To me that was a huge blessing - I got into New Brunswick past midnight and was ravenous and desperately looking for Indian food. Bless these guys they were open. I tried the aloo gobi sabzi and the garlic naan and it was perfect. The mango lassi is damn good too. Just disappointed that they made you buy a bottle of water when a glass of tap water would suffice. I took some malai kofta to go and it was OK at most. They do not charge any gratuity up front in the check and leave that option to you when you pay - and that’s a good thing. I would say this is easily the most decent place for food in the New. Brunswick area. The restaurant has plenty of room you can seat at least 50 people at a time and it still doesn’t feel that cramped. They offer vegetarian and non-vegetarian choices. No alcohol served here.
So Kong Dong Tofu House
I’ve been visiting So Kong Dong for almost 15 years, from Fort Lee to Edison. They are good as usual. Nice staff and great tofu soup. However, I think they change their beef in their tofu soup, from small slices to minced beef. The flavor is a bit different. Not sure it’s a location difference.
This is one of few Korean options in the Edison area, so it's certainly a welcome presence when the hankering for spicy soft tofu stew hits. So Gong Dong is a chain restaurant, and I've had decent meals at one of their other locations so I came in knowing what to expect. The namesake soft tofu stew is fairly decent, and SGD restaurants offer the option of rice, ramen, or udon as the accompanying carb with your stew. Spice levels are modifiable, from no spice to very hot. Bear in mind that if you order it with noodles, the stew will come in a stainless steel bowl rather than the traditional hot stone bowls (which tend to retain heat a little better and keep the stew bubbling while you eat). This past visit, I broke habit and ordered a hot stone bibimbap, which I quickly realized was a mistake for two reasons. One, they use the wide, flat pans, which I've generally found subpar to the stone bowls because they don't seem to get as hot and therefore never create the kind of char I want on the rice. Secondly, I ordered it with tofu as the protein, which just created a wet, sloppy mess as I mixed the bibimbap together. In future visits, I'll know to stick with the tofu stews that SGD is known for. Two few things are noteworthy about this location - - The restaurant is located in a large complex, so parking is plentiful. - At the time this review is being written, there is some heavy construction going on next door. With such raucous drilling and hammering against the wall, our family could barely hear people talking right across the table from us. Things got a LOT better when we asked to be reseated on the other side of the restaurant, but that might not always be an option when things get busier.
Gao’s Noodle House
I often go to Gao's Noodle House for dinner with my friends. The ramen noodles in their store are all made in front of the guests. The sweet pork and northern Chinese cuisines in the store are very special
My favorite restaurant recently! I like their Lanzhou Noodles, it’s one of the most famous food in China. Now they have some cold dishes like beef and shredded potatoes, which are great! Last but not least, they have the best Guo-Bao-Rou(Fried pork), it’s one of the most famous Northeastern Chinese food.
GURU PALACE
This venue is absolutely amazing, especially for those seeking authentic Indian cuisine with a touch of Chinese flavors during events. The staff is incredibly warm and accommodating, ensuring every detail is managed smoothly. I’ve been to multiple parties here, and the food quality has consistently been top-notch. I’m considering hosting an anniversary celebration at their banquet hall, which offers excellent options at reasonable prices. Their newly opened spacious hall is perfect for weddings, making it an ideal venue for special occasions. The combination of great food, stellar service, and a fantastic atmosphere is unbeatable. Definitely a place worth recommending!
We ordered yesterday food from this place and one of the item was hara bhara kawab. It was not at all cooked, it was very hard to eat and tasted like eating half baked masala pakoras and nobody ate it at the party. When we called they said it’s your preference that you do not like it but that is how we cook. So that means they are not ready to listen to customers feedback and why someone will call them and ask only for one of the many dishes we ordered. Very rude behavior and instead of apologizing the lady was denying that food is completely cooked and that how we make it. That is so rude of them. I will never order food from them in future and it’s something you should keep in mind that if something goes bad with food they will deny it very rudely and instead of apologize they will argue that we cannot do anything about it. Ok well if you cannot do anything about it at least talk to people nicely and apologize !!!!
Sun's Chinese Kitchen
We order takeout from Sun's once a month or so. It's consistently good, sometimes great. Our favorite dishes are the sesame noodles (mild-to-medium spicy, be sure to take the noodles out of the container and toss them because the sauce settles in transit) and the ma po tofu (they do theirs with pork, which is not what I'm accustomed to, but it's excellent). Their cook also does an amazing job with vegetables, they are always cooked flawlessly (perfectly crisp, never overdone). Definitely a good local Chinese place.
Good boneless spare ribs. But the rice is always different.. I mean order the same shrimp fried rice but... um... it always tastes different.. that's not bad until it is.. sometimes I wish I just ordered like 10 large rice then sometimes I have a spoon full and just pick the shrimp out.. all in all food in inexpensive fast and tastes good.
Szechwan Ichiban
Great for a food court style small restaurant, while the dishes are not authentic, they all taste great. The portion is good too. However the bubble tea and sushi are not the best.
I ordered a bowl of rice, vegies, and sesame chicken this afternoon, and then I got food poisoning and spent half an hour vomiting in the bathroom, which caused me to miss my exam. The food hygiene was substandard.
