Red Apple Restaurant
This place is in a strip plaza. There are three tables that I have only ever seen occupied when someone is waiting on their take out order. We haven't found a good Chinese restaurant down here yet but this one has been our new go to for a while because of the crab rangoon and chicken lo mein. Best we found so far. Orange chicken, chicken wings, pork, etc. tastes about the same as everywhere else. Service is quick and I have no complaints at this time. It's always hot and consistent when I pick it up.
This is a fairly solid 4.5 star experience. The prices are pretty good and the food is good but not the best out there. But the lunch combo is definitely worth it. I will note they are fairly heavy handed on sauces which is not a personal preference but some people may love this
Panda Express
Just visited the new Panda Express that opened up, and I’m seriously impressed! The service was fast and super friendly—everyone had a smile and made sure my order was perfect. The food was fresh, hot, and tasted great. You can tell they’re putting in the effort to make a good first impression, and it shows. I'm definitely coming back! If you're in the area, it’s worth checking out.
THE BEST! I love everything about Panda Express! I tried the Panda Express at the Metairie, and I would say this is the best one! The atmosphere, service, and the workers are smiling even if they’re very busy. 10 stars! 😊
Golden Dragon Buffet
The buffet starts at 4. I have always been happy with everything. But just like anywhere you go once in a while it's a little off. Buy always very nice owners. Good food is usually very good. Get there for 4 or not long after everything is fresh. The salty fried shrimp is my favorite. I have never seen any roaches especially in my food.
From Hell I write. My bowls boil with an intensity I wish to have never known. My stomach churns and burns with the ferocity of a rabid cheetah. The pain has left me immobile in bed yet a torrent of chocolate waves drips beneath me, I'm left to consider if I should let the damn break over the side of my deck as there is no latrine I can reach. One small plate is costing me far more than $15.
Best Wok
They don’t deserve 1 star. Worse Chinese food ever. Absolutely horrible. We couldn't even eat this garbage. My husband ordered mandarin chicken and the gravy had a green tint to it. My lo mein was dried out and mushy. It was just a mushed up bunch of noodles. Eggrolls tasted like frozen ones you buy at Walmart. We will never go back here and had I lived closer I definitely would’ve brought it back up there.
Absolutely not. Egg rolls should be called spring rolls. They are so tiny! Tiny plastic fork for comparison in pics. General Tso's Chicken had the spice, mostly. Lacked in the chicken department. Mostly breading. Fried rice was mediocre. Flavor seemed like it wanted to be there..but wasn't....I didnt have any vegetables in it? Thats a first for me. 2 tiny florets of broccoli was all I saw. Crab ragoons were just fried wrappers with a hint of cream cheese. No flavor to them. I'm not one to give bad reviews generally....but this was my first time ordering here and it seems they are cutting corners. I get it.....but it's not good business.
Tea Garden
Newly renovated, but I'm not sure what they were going for with the theme. It's confusing and doesn't remind me of a tea garden at all. I usually get soup and or sushi to go which have always been good. It's convenient. While the inside isn't too inviting, the food won't disappoint.
Been there a few times and usually dine in and I notice it was less crowded than usual and I figured out why it happened, the service is getting worse than ever, last time there is a young lady who waited on our table and looks like she been watching her phone all the time, barely smiled or making eye contact with the customer and raised her voice when taking order as well. Please notice we’re the only one dine in at that time and the place is not busy at all. Food is on time and taste okay, but after that she was done her service until she came back with the check. If you feel like supporting the local business might be you just ordered for delivery or pick up rather than sitting in the big dining room and feel uncomfortable with the service, that’s why they’re not busy .
China Ruby
This was my first time ordering from here since they reopened after Katrina. I ordered takeout a few nights ago and was not at all disappointed. My classic is mandarin chicken, and it was so delicious. The rice was soft with quite a few shrimp. Shrimp toast too - very fresh and flavorful. I’ll be back!
We visited 5 times since they recently opened. Every time was 5+ stars. Very fresh food and flavor beats all of the other restaurants. One issue is the limited bar selection. Totally auesome!
China Moon Wok Restaurant
Food - Amazing!!! Easily the best General Tso chicken I've had. Everything was fresh, perfectly cooked and tasted great. Amosphere and ambiace - not good at all! They can do simple touches and changes to make it more inviting and it needs a thorough clean. Super friendly and accommodating staff. Will be back for take out regularly.
The best Chinese food in New Orleans the owners are kind all the time the food is amazing. I can’t say enough. I’ve been eating here for a long time and it’s always delicious.
Panda Cafe
Love this place. It’s a Chinese takeout restaurant in a mall food court. Manage your expectations accordingly…but it’s also a family-run small business where the food is lovingly prepared. It’s my favorite American-Chinese restaurant in the city. A great place to keep in your back pocket when you need in a quick meal in the Quarters! Updating to say the salt n pepper wings are a must try!
The sauce is a lot more watery than at other Chinese joints (which means they must not use as much corn starch for thickening) but the value is superb. For $7-$8 a combo you get an entree and two sides. For the sides you can choose between fried rice, lo mein, and potatoes, and an egg roll. What’s amazing about this place is that the entrees are all made to order, so there is a bit of a wait but everything comes out steaming hot and fresh! Not to mention, the lady at the front is very generous with the portions. An awesome value for tourists and locals alike, though I’d probably recommend this more for locals. You definitely won’t go hungry here.
China House
Honestly This was some mid. I should of known better base off the location but it was ok but I wouldn't recommend 😂
This food was not good. I couldn’t even eat 2 bites of it. It’s soggy and lacks flavor
Golden Wall Restaurant
ordered 3 different dishes with different sauces and ingredients but ended up getting nearly identical sauces and veggies with the protein being different. fried rice wasn’t too flavorful either. huge portions. be advised.
This place was really good. The portion size was good too. I loved their rice and the chicken wings. The owners were really friendly too.
Pei Wei Asian Express
Chicken( very dry) n broccoli ; Beef n mushroom very bland.
In the words of my dear mama, “You get what you get and you don’t throw a fit.” Honestly though, it wasn’t bad. Just average. The orange chicken was hard but the bourbon chicken was good. Rice was pretty good also.
Best Wok
I ordered (2) 6 wing and Rice orders. I had some nasty, gushy substance inside the chicken. I only bit one piece and instantly got sick and lost my appetite. I went back to the restaurant about 5 minutes after getting my order. The man told me he would give me 2 extra pieces of chicken, but I didn't want anything else from this place. The owner and his wife basically told me to get out. They watched me take 2 pictures of the chicken and he said let me see... which I thought was weird, but I did. He gave me $5 cash for a meal that was $8.50 (even tho I ordered 2). After getting my phone back, I saw that he had deleted the pictures! I went into the trash folder to retrieve them. I'm very upset that he tried to delete the pictures out of my phone! This place needs to be looked into by the health department!
