Chef Gong Chinese Restaurant
For such a delicious and authentic Chinese meal, this just can't be beat. I don't know why they were nearly empty on a Friday night because after one visit, we're already discussing our next trip to Chef Gong and what we might try. The fries pork in scoop was unreal so delectable. Great recommendations from the server, too.
Fantastic authentic cuisine.. The dumplings and the dry pot chicken were fantastic. I would definitely recommend coming here an experience and some delicious delicacies. Sesame balls are also a great way to finish a great meal. very good prices for the portion size. The ambience is extravagant! would highly recommend
Fortune House
Fortune house just opened for the day when we arrived, no other guests were there yet, so I had a chance to ask alot of questions about Chinese food. The lady who helped me with my order was very knowledgeable. The way she explained the food, it started to really make me hungry. The quality of the ingredients and all the time-consuming preparation and care that goes into getting all the details right was alot. Our group went inside to order take-out, after the order was taken 12 minutes went by and here came a mountain of food, it was a little shocking to be honest how much food we were brought for 37 dollars. It tasted incredible, a really nice flavorful meal. Best Chinese i had been served in a long time. The Fortune House was a pleasant surprise. The environment was quiet and clean. Small dining area, order your food at the register style, short wait, and delicious food, a happy time was my experience.
These guys were amazing this morning. I called about a week ago asking if they were willing to do a catering job for 40 people. Kicker was I needed to pick it up the order by 5:15 am and they agreed. I picked it up this morning and wow was it great food! Everyone loved it, Just wish I would have taken a picture. Great job and I will definitely be using you again
Ming Dynasty
I decided to try Ming Dynasty after reading many positive reviews both on Google and other websites. The lady taking orders was friendly and spoke good English. There was a lunch special that included a plate with rice and either 1,2, or 3 items. I decided to get double General Tso Chicken and beef and vegetable with fried rice and an egg roll. I also ordered a separate appetizer of crab rangoons. My order was fulfilled very quickly and at a fair price. They do have some tables there, but seating is limited. When I got to eating my food, I thought it was a mixed bag. The General Tso chicken had good flavor but the coating was bad; it was like eating a weird emulsion. The beef and vegetable was mediocre and lacked good flavor. I did enjoy the fried rice but the egg roll tasted like it was frozen and microwaved. The crab rangoons were my favorite part of my order. They had a good texture and a nice cream cheese and crab filling. Overall, I felt as though you got a good value with the amount of food for the money, but the quality was hit or miss. I think that there are definitely better Chinese restaurants in the area. However, I have also had much worse. It may be worth a try if you are picky with what you order, but I will likely choose other places.
Some of the best Chinese food I have ever had! We’ve tried many spots in many areas and Ming Dynasty is definitely our favorite. We go almost weekly and we’ve never been let down, food is always hot and exactly what we ordered and it’s always delicious! The staff is super friendly and the inside is small but it’s cute! Check this place out if you’re in the area!
Leo's Lodge - Lansing, MI
Great restaurant. It is mostly wood, and with the great number of taxidermy on the wall, it truly feels like a lodge atmosphere complete with fireplace. My friends and I only ate appetizers, including boneless wings, cheesebread, and pretzel bits. All of them were amazing in taste. Our waitress was fast and timely in every way. I will definitely be back sometime. Keep up the good work both in food and the great staff you have. Your effort speaks for itself.
Always a fabulous meal. From the appetizers soup 'n salads to pizza, fabulous Burgers (Bacon Bleu!) Bison and really great dinners, prime rib, fish. Good drinks, great atmosphere, interesting things to look at, keeno and pull tabs. Outdoor area too
Wing Snob
First time to order from Wing Snob and the food was okay. I ordered 5 chicken tenders and the awesome fries. Nothing special about the fried chicken simply average ones, the fries were also average and nothing special. 3 stars is the best decision as I had better stuff from other places.
The food was very affordable and absolutely mind-blowing! The atmosphere is very nice and the staff were very friendly. The food once again is delicious, and this experience for me and my family was more than 5 stars! This place is also Halal for anyone looking for great Halal foods! They also have very fresh meat and fresh fries, everything coming straight from the kitchen hot and nice! They also have multiple discounts, which we used. The reason I wrote a paragraph is to tell you to DEFINITELY come here everything was a 10/10 great experience!
The Kung Fu
Some of the best dim sum you’ll find for awhile. Amazing egg tarts. I’ve had them in Chicago, Windsor and Detroit and these ones blew them all out of the water. XO noodles were amazing and the fried shrimp balls are reminiscent of ones I ate in my childhood.
Very good dim sum . Reasonable pricing , service was very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere needs a little love.
Little Panda Chinese Restaurant
Worst Asian food ever! They put a ton of dried onion strips in my beef and chicken. They sliced a iceberg lettuce in four big chucks. Gave the huge chunky of Lettuce wrapped in plastic. Called it a salad. Literally a chunk of Lettuce! The chicken and beef pieces were cut into almost crumbs. This place is horrible. I told a worker the bathroom needed paper towels. She sat at ts or and continued to sc through her phone, totally ignoring me.
This has been our Christmas Eve dinner tradition for many years now! The food is very good and the best part is there’s no MSG so we don’t get headaches or have other issues. Have not eaten inside the restaurant but seems to be a good place to eat with good service.
Asian Gourmet
Despite a slew of negative recent reviews, I decided to give Asian Gourmet a shot. Upon entering it was obvious that this restaurant was an old school, traditional Americanized Chinese restaurant that was setup primarily for takeout. The menu was fairly extensive with fair pricing for today’s world. Some of the staff could use a bit of training in conversation with Americans as the girl taking my order was a bit short, but I think that was more of a cultural difference than her trying to be mean. My food was ready after a relatively short wait and I opted to sit at one of their few tables. I was generally satisfied with my food. The fried rice was good and the orange chicken was decent but could have had a bit better sauce. I really enjoyed my egg roll and found the crab rangoons to be bigger than what most Chinese restaurants have in the area. In the end, I felt like I had a satisfying meal at a fair price. Keep in mind that they do not really have a way to service drinks, so plan ahead if you want something to drink.
Very good Chinese food. Unknowingly ordered food after they closed (Yelp had the wrong hours), and they were so accommodating and friendly. I would 100% recommend for service. As for food, it was just as great! The veggie lo mein and shrimp sweet and sour were great options. I will definitely try again when I’m back in town. Such a great customer service and reasonable prices!
Asia's Finest
We had a really nice meal here. The crab rangoons were the best I've ever had. Will be back.
My fiancé and I had a wonderful first experience there this weekend. The woman who was running the entire FOH was incredibly friendly and immediately made us feel at home. The food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious. The portion sizes are large and the price is reasonable! Will absolutely return!
Apple Jade
I had a great experience at Apple Jade! From the second I walked in the door until I left, the service was very friendly, polite, and attentive. I ordered the orange chicken and got fried rice with an egg roll as well as an order of crab rangoons. The orange chicken was satisfying, although maybe a bit sweet for some people. The fried rice was good, but I really enjoyed the egg roll and crab rangoons. I would definitely recommend this restaurant over many of the competing Chinese restaurants in the area!
Updated Feb 2025 This use to be our place to go Our weekly spot , date day Dairy free allergies make date days limited when it comes to eating out Some Chinese doesn't use dairy Some do Almost all Buffets in Lansing do fyi for my followers But it's gone downhill since the "renovations" The food is always cold but egg rolls are nice and hot Plates, sizes and portions are always different for some reason Sometimes you get more or less I usually always order the same thing lately I enjoy brown sauce with non breaded chicken with veggies Not just filler veggies like onions and peppers (I don't mind picking out) Chinese restaurants in America are almost all the same Anyone notice that ? Why is it like that anyways? I'm just generally curious Why does General doesn't get veggies? Why are they all in general the same menu? It's nice they have some unique choices here like honey pepper chicken , Bourbon Mr & Mrs Smith ect I love honey pepper But lately it's been heavy on the black pepper so It's bothered my stomach unfortunately I feel bad for the young new server He gets overwhelmed and behind but tries hard He needs more training A suggestion If you work here and see him in the weeds while you sit at a table on your phone maybe have a lil sense of urgency and help him out once you actually get up? We can see you on your phone then slowly get up and go into the back and stand in the doorway on your phone I only hope it's online orders Automatically assuming everyone is being taking care of in a timely fashion is never the case When we come in Or maybe they don't care I don't know I saw a couple wait 15 min for menus Us 10 for our tea He's running all over the place tho. We didn't come here this week because of our last 4 experiences When you work hard for every penny every experience you spend it on counts Old review from 2023& 2024: Best Chinese in Lansing! Super under appreciated Unique options Combination options Dairy free options Always hot and fresh Delicious Yummy hot tea Great service We love this place
China King
I have only had one dish, so I am not sure why there are multiple poor reviews. What I had, Spicy Chicken in Garlic sauce, exceeded my expectations based on price and size. I believe it to be good value. The food came out quickly. The chicken was good and tender (better than most chicken in other Asian spots on 4th). The vegetables were fresh and deliciously al dente. I wished it was spicier and had more garlic, but that was easily fixed with the garlic chili I had in my cabinet. The staff were friendly, and I am sure they would work to make you happy. Will ask for more spice and garlic next time.
Very nice place for quick and easy takeout the food was good The noodles didn’t have much flavor but the amazing crab Rangoon’s more than made up for it. The lady at the counter was very friendly. The portions for the price were fantastic Would definitely recommend and come back ! T
Kin Thai
I definitely had high hopes. I was at the Lansing Shuffle for an event and tried the food at this restaurant in the food court. I wanted to love it. The presentation is great. But the Pad Thai wasn't great just a flavor profile I wasn't like any Pad Thai that I'm used to. Also, the Crab Rangoon Nachos were okay. But I think what is needed is more of the plum sauce or whatever that is which makes the dish so ask for extra. After a few bites it just got too creamy and crabby and needed that sauce to cut it. We ended up throwing them away. Regular Crab Rangoon would be better.
I had the Pad Thai and it was actually spicy compared to any place I’ve ever tried in Michigan. Very interesting flavor profile, almost citrusy, but I definitely recommend Kin Thai! I’ll probably stop by another time to try their other dishes as well.
