Sakura Bana
I had high expectations for Sakura Bana after the change in ownership, but I couldn’t have been more disappointed. We ordered the Sushi for Two,and it was far from being worth $60. Both the sushi and the rice were incredibly dry and lacked flavor. I highly recommend visiting Umami instead—same price, but significantly better quality and a much larger variety of sushi.
Can't rate this place high enough!! I've been going for close to 10 years and I've never been let down. A very large selection, all of which is simply delicious. It's so hard to find Japanese food other than sushi around here. Of course, their sushi is incredible as well. I just went a few days ago and am thinking of all the things I want to order next. I love the quiet traditional seating area. Two things I almost always have to get are agedashi tofu to start and red bean ice cream to end!
Vietnamese Asian Restaurant
Best Pho in town! Lovely atmosphere, excellent service. They work very hard to make their costumers happy. I feel at home every time I eat here. Stop in and give em a try.
We stopped in for A quick bite. Ordered the pho (number 14) and the egg rolls. The food came out piping hot. The price point here felt lower than other Vietnamese restaurants with the food being good. Value brings it to an immediate 5 stars for me as there was nothing wrong and I feel you get your money's worth.
Zio's Pizzeria
If you like pizza or chicken wings (and others), Zio’s on Beverly Hills Plaza is your place. Everything is freshly cooked and tasty. There is very little wait time. The whole team is well trained and polite. Small fact about this place, Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts was there every other Saturday till 2023. And from January 2023 you can meet Senator Pete Rickett in this pizzeria.
Soggy pizza, and meatballs hard as rocks with waits so long I didn’t even dare send it back. The place wasn’t even busy! The local Costco has better pizza.
Wings & Chinese
So a friend of mine told me about this place, how good the rice and the wings were. So I decided to check it out for myself, however when I arrived they weren't open I guess they were running a little behind maybe because it was a Monday. They didn't open till almost 12:00 noon, I was a little upset but however I waited patiently for them to open up because I really wanted to see how good the food is. What's inside I place my order, I waited no more than about 10 minutes in my food came out and it looked really delicious. I'm the type of person that doesn't like my wings really saucy but in this case I really enjoyed them along with the vegetable fried rice that I had. This is instantly a new spot for me to go to when I'm in the Douglasville area. Also if you're in and around the area as well check them out for yourselves, the food and the atmosphere is on point.
I got the lunch special for sesame chicken. The taste & portion size was pretty good as the container is deep and they put an almost even amount of rice & meat in the container. Regarding the rice though, it had stringy bits of eggs. Tasted okay but didn’t like that. Got the hush puppies and they’re smaller than I expected but not too bad I suppose.
Dumpling Kitchen
-restaurant was about 80 degrees inside -noodles is chili oil are huge noodles with the consistency off boiled egg. Really bad. -pork dumplings have mo flavor. -wontons in chili oil had the most flavor but I wouldnt be able to tell the difference between these and microwaved dumplings -every single table was dirty and remained dirty until we left -cashier was super nice but a restaurant with 3 people dining in it shouldn't have dirty tables. Way too many good restaurants in castle rock to think this is going to draw people in.
I was so in the mood for Bao last night and this place hit the spot. First time visiting so we got a variety of items on the menu. The staff was very friendly and patient as we asked questions while we tried to figure out what we wanted. Food came out quickly and was so delicious.
South Garden III
My teenage daughter and I came by for a quick dinner. We had the wonton soup which had a nice flavorful broth and wontons that were not too big or heavy. Would have been even better with some veggies in it as well but the broth soup base made up for it. We ordered the pao pao platter and sesame chicken. Food was great but I was wishing for more than the small bowl of rice that was served with it but that is my personal love of steamed rice. Service was great. Drinks were kept full and we were checked on frequently. All in all will definitely make a frequent stop.
I have nothing but good experiences here. The servers/owners are always kind and the food is delicious! I try to come here a couple times a month and it’s always great! Highly recommend! I have yet to have a bad meal here regardless of what I try.
China East Restaurant
I just moved to Douglasville and have been considering China East for a bit, but wanted to get more accustomed to driving in that area. So, tonight I finally placed an order. It was clean and quiet when I went inside. The kitchen looked very nice, you can see it from the counter. When I was approached about my order, the lady was extremely sweet and my order was ready several minutes before the time indicated. I wish I had been able to leave a tip, but I didn't have the money at the time. However, I intend to next time! The food is great. I'm picky about Chinese food, but this was quite nice. I'm not sure why anyone complains about the rice. It's yellow FRIED rice, guys! Have you not heard of yellow fried rice? And it's delicious. I actually prefer it over any other fried rice I've had at other places. The pork and veggies in it were fresh. The rice was perfectly cooked. (Please don't change your recipe!) I also had the sweet and sour chicken. It was fresh, not tough at all, and wonderful. Sure, they don't put pounds of meat into their batter (at the guys who keep complaining about that) but I thought it was a fair amount of chicken and it went so well with the sweet and sour sauce. I'm excited to come back for another visit! Thanks, everyone at China East for making my dinner worthwhile tonight! I've already spread the words to my family to also visit. - Jenn
A simple cozy Chinese place. Looks like your average wing store you'd find next door to the local supermarkets. I always come here to eat during my lunch break, because I don't bring food with me nor do I like the food at my workplace. This place is very average, a good meal is around $10-20. Since, I come in often the employee up front knows me well which is very lovely. Great service and not much else I can say, the environment is not very fancy, just typical, but a good place to stop and rest and be able to eat at. Would recommend eating here. No photos or videos, sorry!
Hong Kong Chinese Restaraunt
My experience here was somewhat mixed. While some of the food I tried was mediocre (and I would specifically advise against the Mongolian beef), the lo mein noodles were enjoyable and had a good flavor. The service at the counter was efficient and professional, though not particularly warm. On the positive side, the food arrived very quickly. Perhaps I just didn't order the right items, but the Mongolian beef was certainly a miss.
I have been coming to this place now for the last 3 months and it has almost become a Friday night routine for me for many reasons. 1. The food is always good and the portions are worth the price. I’ve had multiple dishes, multiple times and of all the Chinese take out places in GA my family and I have been to, this is the only one that pleases the crowd across the board. 2. Very clean and wait time is always short. 3. Service is excellent. Justin, who they have attending to customers at the front is ALWAYS smiling and is always professional and pleasant. In a time where customer service seems to be lacking in many places, he definitely stands out as exceptional. Huge part of the reason I keep coming back.
Panda 7
Always pleasant and know our order by heart. My husband found the closest to our hometown STL. But of course it's not the same but for what it's worth we haven't switched to any other restaurants that serve our Chinese favorite. Our son likes picking out our 3 fortune cookies... He's not into Chinese food. Enjoy!
Good for what it is. Basic strip mall American Chinese food. I really like their hot and sour soup, much better than average. General Tso Chicken is just what you would expect. Staff is direct and can sound harsh, but have never felt they were anything other than kind and working hard.
Egg Roll King
Until now we had only ordered take out from them. Today we decided to dine in and we were pleasantly surprised. The service was top notch and very friendly. She answered all of our questions, explained everything and gave us suggestions. Our appetizers came out promptly and were very delicious. Our food followed shortly thereafter and was spot on. The authenticity of the food was very apparent and exactly what I was looking for. Don't sleep on this place. The food is amazing. Give it a try. We will definitely be back.
Best affordable Asian food around. So so good. Flavors are amazing and the staff is great. Small hole in the wall, so very little seating and decor is somewhat to be desired. Other than that, right now this is the place to go and we have for the past 4 years. We kinda enjoy the small family feel. A must try for sure.
Little Holly's Asia Cafe
My daughter and I visited for the first time here and I wish we lived closer so we could come often. What a wonderful meal. The wonton soup was great. The wontons are made with a lighter and thinner wrap and are so much better than the thicker wraps. We tried the Holly's appetizer to get a taste of multiple items and it did not disappoint. We had the Sesame chicken as the main dish and was pleasantly surprised to see a good helping of rice served with it. Lately, so many places give you just one small scoop of rice per entree that doesn't even last half the meal. Not here. We had a perfect amount of steamed rice to enjoy with the flavorful sesame chicken and it's sauce. I will definitely be back when we are in the area again. Apologies for the photos as we had already started eating when I remebered to take a picture.
Came here for their lunch special and it was awesome! There were several options for the 11.99 lunch special, and then even more for 12.99 lunch special. The kung pao chicken was only 11.99 and came with choice of soup, a great large spring roll, two scoops of rice and a very decent portion of chicken/veggies/peanuts/peppers with two dipping sauces on the side. Grabbed lunch alone, so just popped a seat at the small bar and they had food out in no more than 5 minutes. Will definitely be coming back, thanks!
South Garden II
They used to be great. Now apparently under new ownership they’re bottom of the barrel. I ordered from them for the last time several months ago. I ordered over a year ago and the egg rolls were mushy, from frozen, and the food went from the best to bland. I tried one more time and specified that if the egg rolls aren’t fresh please take them off. The guy called a couple of minutes later with a crap attitude asking if I wanted to cancel my order. I said yes. Haven’t been back and never will.
Usually love the food. But the egg rolls only had a 3rd of the stuffing they usually do. Thought maybe just a fluke so tried the other one, same thing. Flavor also wasn't great.
