Dumpling Empire
This place is amazing! Their takoyaki is one of the best! And their chili oil wantons soup is the perfect balance of spicy and savory! Definitely getting that again! The crisp on the dumplings was perfect! Personally I don't think I'm a fan of the texture of the red bean paste, but the flavor was quite good! The only real "issue" I had with the atmosphere because they played the same Christmas songs on repeat. Definitely gonna have to come back and try some more of their dishes! I will say I splurged and should've only gotten one appetizer and one dumpling dish. But I never had red bean paste dumplings! I'm happy I tried them, even if I didn't care for the texture!
Amazing food! They make their own noodles and they are delicious! Food came out quick and hot! Vegetables were cooked perfectly! Can’t wait to come back and try more!
Blue & Fly Asian Kitchen
The food was well-seasoned, but it also wasn't diverse in flavor. There was no kick in the flavor that made the dishes stood out. The string beans were delicious tho, very fragrant with the garlic. However, the hot and sour soup, was a bit disappointing since the smell of bamboo shoots in the soup overpowered all other flavors and the soup wasn't sour and had no spicy kick to it. The pig intestines with chili oil was interesting since I expected a crunchier texture for the intestines, but it was rather soft. Service was amazing because all the staff were very friendly, quick, and good with checking in on customers during the meal. The place was cozy and when I was there, almost all the tables were filled.
I was highly recommended here by a friend several times so… my partner and I finally went. To begin with, it’s very much a hole in the wall sort of place, but in the best way. It’s tucked in the corner by Petsmart, but when you get inside there’s plenty of elbow room. The chairs were nice and comfy, everything was clean. The decor is very minimalist but nice. We stood at the counter for all of maybe two minutes before we were quickly seated with menus, shortly followed by our water. The food was five stars right off the bat. We both started with egg drop soup and it was incredible. There’s no corn in it, for those of you who don’t prefer it. The bowl had just enough that you got a good portion, but not so much that you would be full immediately. With the wonton crisps on top there was a beautiful crunch - and they weren’t greasy. Then came the appetizers: crab Rangoon and potstickers. The crab Rangoon are different from any that I think I’ve ever had, in that they’re kind of sweet! They came with sauce for dipping, as did the potstickers. Those were very tasty as well, hot and crunchy with plenty of filling in all of the above. In perfect timing, out comes our entrees - sesame chicken with broccoli for me, and hot and crispy chicken for him; both of us got steamed white rice. Rice was pretty straight forward, perfectly cooked, and you get a heaping cup of it. My sesame chicken was INCREDIBLE. I really can’t recommend it high enough! The sauce was so flavorful, perfectly sticky; and then the chicken was hot, crispy, and I had plenty to take home for leftovers. He told me that his H&C chicken was also amazing, but I could’ve told you by the look on his face at the first bite! We chose to pass on dessert, but with our ticket came two little mango candies which were an excellent way to end. All of the staff was friendly yet speedy, but not once did I feel rushed. We both agree that we’re definitely coming back to try more because we were very impressed. Tl;dr Run, don’t walk, it’s fantastic - if you haven’t been yet, then you’re missing out!
Great Dragon
I ordered two meals for myself and a client. I am positive I ordered a chicken dinner meal as I am allergic to seafood. I got home and opened my dinner embarrassed as to it looked like " Complete Mush! ", I called, if it was my mistake I am happy to pay for it, even if it l9oked like trash!!! The guy eas Np help! I don't want a refund but listen, there' ate a lot of businesses in South Omaha. You don't know who is walking through your doors. Do better! You have been there a long time and I know, used to eat there on a regular. I'll try again in a couple of months. I never leave e reviews
This is your spot, dine in or takeout the food was good fresh tasting very highly satisfied... I was skeptical at first but it was a perfect place to crave that Chinese Food craving Thank You will be back again definitely a 👍 cashier needs to smile a bit more but he was friendly and polite big plus you have great food 👍👍☺️
Crystal Jade Restaurant
Great food! Similar price point to a lot of other places in the area but the food itself was a lot better! We got pad thai and firecracker chicken with fried rice, egg drop soup, and egg rolls. very fresh and really tasty. large portions too! we took over half our home!! Fast service and really cute place.
It was just okay. If you like green onions you'll love the crab Rangoon. I happen to like green onions so I thought they were great. Definitely not crab forward by any means though. That was the highlight. I got garlic chicken which was tasteless and fried rice which was by far the most uninspired fried rice I've ever had served. Just rice. No onion or veggies at all. It filled my tummy but it was meh. On the positive, it was very fast like it was ready faster than some drive throughs I've been to but we ate a late dinner around 8pm.
Fú Asian Grill
I ordered the peanut butter chicken to go, but chose to dine in, and it was absolutely delicious! The sauce could have been mixed in with the chicken more, but the dish tasted very authentic! The person who took my order delightfully questioned me about my strong bias towards certain bottled water brands lol! He thought I was being silly, but to each his own… even though the restaurant was empty, it had a very nice vibe to it. I also noticed they have coloring pages and crayons for families with kids. If you're not used to eating authentic Asian cuisines or are not a fan of vegan food, this place might not vibe well or taste good to you. An open mind and versatile palate will allow you to enjoy this restaurant for what it is ❤️
The food was great and inexpensive! The 1 guy working was flustered being by himself so it took a little while. But that’s also because everything seemed to be made to order. The atmosphere was nothing special. They had 2 or 3 tables. I’m guessing the majority of their business is take out. This place was brand new to us, so our expectations were low. And we loved it. We’ll definitely go back.
KNYAW MU THAI RESTAURANT
I’ve had Thai food from coast to coast and I always feel like Omaha punches way above its weight class as a city when it comes to Thai food. Knyaw absolutely falls into that category. I had the spring rolls, chicken wings, pad thai, and KaNa Mu Crob. All were fantastic and I will definitely be back. They also have fish sauce and chilis at the table if you want to add a punch to your dish to suit your personal preferences.
One of the best Thai restaurants in Omaha. I’ve been to Tasty Thai, Salween, Mercy, etc. Easily, the pad Thai is the best I’ve had here. I love how authentic the restaurant seems with the fish sauce, chili, vinegar toppings available at the table. The chicken wings were also so good! Definitely will be coming back!
Thai Spice
Came here with a co worker today for the first time for lunch. Food was great. We will be back.
We decided to try Thai Spice because we love Thai food and it is not far from our house. We were not disappointed! We started with spring rolls, which were fried to perfection. The veggies inside were not mushy and tasted very fresh. The honey chili dipping sauce was amazing!! The yellow curry was delicious and you get a generous portion! The shrimp pineapple curry was delicious as well! We will definitely be back soon and definitely recommend!!
Twisted Cork Bistro
The server (Valerie) was friendly and helpful. We all started with soups which had a very complex and delightful profile. We couldn't decide if we liked the Nebraska Corn Chowder or Tomato-Red Pepper Bisque better - you can't go wrong. The Sea Scallops, Twisted Cork Burger and Wild Halibut all danced across our taste buds. We were there on a Tuesday right at 5 and had no problem getting a table but you may consider a reservation for the weekend.
Had an amazing girlfriend evening with fabulous drinks and food! Make sure you make a reservation ahead of time otherwise you might not get a table right away. Fortunately we lucked out.
Pasta Amore
To start with, Mike was wonderful and greeted us warmly with a smiling face! In fact, I gave him a 5-star rating for his service. The food I tried included pasta, garlic bread, and tiramisu, and it all tasted good! I was a bit disappointed with their table booking system, as I was informed there were no tables available until 8 PM. However, when I tried booking online, I was able to secure a table!
Belly button soup was good tortellini kinda hard butamazing broth was so good even better when you dipped bread into the broth!!!!!!! Got a seafood linguini mix, fried zucchini. What was she getting lasagna was good.
Maru Sushi Korean Grill
**HIDDEN GEM** I used to live in Japan and this place is a hidden gem for Korean food. Love the food and love the place. I am so surprised more people don’t talk about this place. They had you a sampler plate as an appetiser and you never seem to wait long for your food. Definitely recommend this restaurant.
First off the waitress is rude and has no business in customer service. 2nd the chicken bulgogi was rubber and after my husband ate it, cause he was starving I tried it. It taste off. Now I’m waiting to see if he’s sick later. I’m so pissed right now. I will never come back here again. The rest of the food was mid at best.
Jimmy John's
The Moody workers decided they didn't like me apparently. Don't know what I did to upset them. I ordered the Jimmy Cubano and they literally put rotten bacon on it. After seeing the bacon pieces that they had selected were all rotten and slimy and wilted and off colored I returned them to the counter immediately and asked for good bacon. Who I assumed was the manager of a woman with a gray t-shirt and a headset told me they're all like that some of them come out differently and then she handed me for perfect pieces of bacon that looked great. What happened I asked? Her eyes rolled and she went back to working and said she didn't even want to look at the rotten bacon pieces I tried to hand her. Guess what David Bland is the number one Google nightlife guide for all things Omaha!
The "hunters club" is one of my favorites so that's what I got. A very good sandwich made just the way I ordered it. Customer service lacked tonight but maybe the kid had a long shift. I'll go back and would recommend to a friend
YOSHI-YA RAMEN
Had #1 on the menu and it was soooo yummy! My son really enjoyed it too. I have had the chicken skin before and it wasn’t what I expected. Still good tho.
