They need to update their signs and google descriptions, etc, but their food is surprisingly good! They look sketchy on the outside but I think it’s just because they don’t get a lot of business They don’t have a buffet, but you can see what they have and choose what you want! It’s good if you want Chinese but don’t want to eat in :)

Good food cheap and good quantity as well. I always get the general taos chicken.

I will not return here. The best part was the person who took my order over the phone. The food was not seasoned well. Shrimp was “off”, and chicken was gamey, chewy, and seemed a bit raw. The Chow Mein does not have noodles at all. Chow Mein is supposed to be fried noodles (firm) and Lo Mein is tossed noodles (soft). Fried rice was 2/10. Egg roles weren’t bad but nothing to brag about. When calling to ask (6:30PM) why my chow mein had no noodles (picture attached) they mentioned I could take the item back and exchange for noodles. $13 for noodles didn’t feel like a win but I considered the offer and said I would stop in after my kids ate and before they close (9PM). They called back within 10min (7PM) asking what time I would be there. I will not return.

I try to give restaurants grace since I've worked in one most of my life. The food was decent but everything else was absolutely terrible. They charge for water lmao... zero service. Literally had to go find silverware myself. Oh and $20 for a 8.99 lunch that would have been way better in the mall.

Ordered kung pao chicken and got barely any chicken and a bed of huge chunks of pepper and onions and other random vegetables

Not impressed. Years ago this place was great. I ordered shrimp le mein, sesame chicken, and crab ragoons. Can you see how dried out and hard the chicken is by picture? The crab ragoons weren't horrible but something was off about them like too much onion powder or something. Le mein thicker noodles than used too and only veggies was cabbage in it. I've had a lot of Chinese over the years this just is a place is a place I am going to try to avoid. I'll pick up on my way home from a doctor's appointment Uptown or something but not here in corydon.

A friend and I ate here about 18 months ago. We ate about 3-5 bites and threw out our expensive combos. I returned today (8/27/2023). I ordered two spring rolls. Instead I got two egg rolls. Decided not to make a fuss as they still had a line. Wrong decision. The outside of the egg rolls were overcooked...but the rest of the wrapper was doughy. Ate about 2 bites and tossed them. Not YUMMY.

I've been to the one in Greenwood and the one in Castleton. The one in Greenwood, thr food was really greasy. The one here wasn't. I don't know if it was because they just refilled the pan with what I ordered or because it's just better. The menu was hard to read because it kept flashing different pictures and combos, really pushing the 3 entree combo. My husband and I both got a 2 entree combo which was supposed to come with 2 entrees, a drink, and either fried rice, white rice, or noodles. My husband got white rice, bourbon chicken, and the spicy (thai?) chicken and white rice. I got bourbon chicken, crab rangoon, white rice, and a cup of water. I was having trouble understanding the first lady in line. I was asking if they had brown rice and she kept pointing to the fried rice and asking which rice. I was surprised to see their orange chicken and another entree (I don't remember which one) cost $.50 more to your meal. I was also disappointed that they still charged us for the full combo when my husband didn't get a drink. I asked for water for a drink and they gave me a kid's size cup. Even paying for the combo. They didn't give me a bottle of water, let alone an adult size cup of water. They also didn't have chopsticks which was disappointing since their white rice was actually sticky/perfect to eat like that! There were a few burned parts on my chicken and a few extra chewey pieces (ligaments I think). Crab rangoon was average but hot. Overall the food was slightly better than what I expected. Mine was hot, not as greasy as the Greenwood location, and the sticky rice was a nice surprise. Overall, it loses stars for the price/customer service, lack of entree choices, two rotating menu screens that often displayed the same 3 combo "deal," and added extra cost for the orange chicken. I consider it expensive because we could pay $20 or less for some authentic Japanese food close to the mall and it is much better than here. (We didn't go there because they were closed for a party the night we were in the area). It's medicore. Alright if you're hungry and still have shopping to do. Otherwise, for medicore I'd rather go eat at the Panda Express outside the mall where I have significantly more entree options.

The orange chicken was old and hard as a rock. The fried rice was very dry I think it might have been cooked 3 or 4 days before. The only thing that I could eat was the bourbon chicken it was good but not for the price when I could not eat the rest of the meal. The manager was talking about her personal life instead of running the register where she was stationed. Not a happy customer.

5-stars for mall bourbon chicken... Feeling nostalgic for childhood mall dates with my mom, I stopped in Asian Chao for an order of bourbon chicken with white rice. It was near closing time & I didn't have high hopes. The chicken was fresh & tasted exactly as I remembered. The women working were incredibly friendly & kind. Would stop by again if in the mall.

As a college student, I appreciate the generosity of the workers there to cater towards my requests and give me my dollars worth of food! As soon as you step into the place, you are greeted warmly by the workers. Studying business and hospitality, it's evident that Hong, the manager there, truly holds her staff and store to a standard. The staff engage with you, the vicinity is always clean, and customers enjoy their time there. I can't name a single terrible experience I've had at this location. My greatest piece of advice is to disregard what others have said and go to this location next time you're craving a filling and satisfying meal!

This is my second time at panda express being treated as if I was different than anyone else in the restaurant (other than my color). I got looked over four times before I was helped standing at the online ordering. The attitude from the young man was a hurry up and get out and away for me that’s just a feeling I got from him . He needs a different career because this is not it . I spend way to much money here I ever have a rewards app the only fast food app I have on my phone 😂. But yea I rather travel far before I get treated any less . Won’t be back 🤞🏾

Please believe the reviews you see about terrible food and service! I tried to give them a chance even though they had some bad reviews. I when in and I was greeted and seated. I got my food and as I went around to everything I thought “maybe I came at the wrong time” because the food looked like it was sitting for a while. I should have left then but I didn’t. I sat down and took a bite out of each thing one time. A few things I spit out. So I proceeded to let the hostess know that everything was old and nasty she pointed to the 2 other guests tables after they’d left and said “no one else complained about it” I said okay well I’m complaining and this is nasty. She walked off while I was talking and kept doing what she was doing. So I walked out and she followed behind me to pay. I told her I’m not and she followed me outside and started trying to take pictures of me and saying she was calling the police I told her to go ahead and as I pulled my phone out to take pictures and videos she walked back inside. The business is dirty dark and the food is unsanitary the lady in the picture is the one at the front she will give you dirty silverware and when you ask for disposable plastic ware she will hand you uncovered plastic spoons and fork. I knew i should have just tried the Thai food across the way! I had no plans in posting a bad review before she tried to follow me out which is why I didn’t take a picture of that food but as you read the other reviews you will see that I’m being completely honest.

There was a roach on the wall.. as you know roaches do not travel alone there is always a COLONY of roaches. I saw on their wall that the health department certified them in May of 2024. Which is interesting because when my friend and I said something about it, the lady told my friend they get exterminators in there about every month.. EVERY MONTH?! Food was trash, the drinks were trash (it tasted old), and the environment was very depressing. Not worth $20 and definitely not worth getting food poisoning over.

I really wanted to like this place, but after eating the garlic chicken and spring roll, I won't be back, nor will I recommend. The garlic chicken used breaded chicken chunks, which is a first! Other places use non-breaded chicken. This was my first disappointment. And, it was greasy! Why!?!? The spring rolls were deep fried and lacked in flavor. Just blah. I asked if they cook without MSG. She said No. Another disappointment, as they don't cook without it. This food is one step up from a china buffet. The male cook was super busy and seemed friendly. The woman seemed irritated when I arrived sooner then she expected. I wasn't rushing anyone. Just made good traffic. Not going back. Bummer!

Hong Kong Kitchen is a fantastic Chinese restaurant! The food is consistently delicious, with a great variety of dishes that are always fresh and flavorful. The owner is incredibly nice and welcoming, creating a warm atmosphere that makes dining here a pleasure. Whether you’re grabbing takeout or enjoying a meal in-house, you’re guaranteed a wonderful experience. Highly recommend this gem for anyone craving authentic Chinese cuisine!

Garbage, I bought a spicy shrimp egg food Yung and it was good to have 2 shrimp and so many bean sprouts that the egg barely held it together. I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN. DISGUSTING 🫣 🤮

This place has fallen off horribly, everything is just nasty now and has a bad flavor to it.

In my Keith Lee voice, I tried it and rated everything a 10! From the soulful 90s r&b playing upon entry, to the warm and friendly service received from the owner and the cashier, to that TRUE soul food that you receive.. this place is nothing short of amazing. I gave it a try as I didn’t feel like cooking dinner, and I’m so glad I did. The owner is also the chef, and she greeted me at the counter to run down the menu. She makes you feel at home like family and is patient as I expressed it was my first visit to the restaurant. I ordered the catfish dinner which came with 2 sides (I picked spaghetti and collard greens), jerk chicken eggrolls (can be ordered separate or as a meal), and a piece of lemon pound cake. Breaking my diet was worth it! The catfish was my favorite (I took a pic of how flaky and perfect it was.. crispy like I like it too!) but everything had a burst of flavor!! Every forkful! The wait was about 15-20 minutes, but it was well worth it because everything was fresh and steaming when I got home! As I was ordering she told me the Mac was still in the oven so I didn’t get a chance to order it. As I was leaving with my order, she told me to wait because it had just come out, and handed me a sample to try. Let me just say, I tasted it on my way out the door and ran back inside (not exaggerating) to tell her just how good that macaroni and cheese was and how grateful I was for that sample! She truly didn’t have to do that or allow me to taste the peach cobbler but I’m so glad she did! As an operations manager, I can recognize and appreciate true hospitable service! I told her I would be back and I meant that. Please give this place a try because I promise you won’t regret it and we need this business to thrive. You can tell this is her passion as you can feel it in her rapport with her customers and taste it in every bit of that food! Hopefully I can stick to my original turkey burger idea next time 😂😂😂. (Probably not, I’m coming back for that mac!🤣❤️)

Customer service was A-1. She took my order last minute ( I had a huge order ) which I appreciate and half of these black owned restaurants would not do that. I did find a little piece of something odd in the spaghetti. I’m not sure what it was or if it was a piece of the herbs from the spaghetti but it was a light brown color of wood. Besides that error , ALL of the food tasted good, I would revisit if I visited east Chicago again. The peach cobbler was superb, fish seasoned and cooked to perfection, yams sweet but not overly sweet, etc . This is a place definitely worth trying and the light skin lady who took my order was very nice and patient with me.
