Texas Corral
I give this restaurant a 4/5 stars.. I haven’t dined in so I can’t give you that overview, but if the food is good after delivery then I’m sure it’s even better to dine in! My favorites from this order were the pork chop meal and the rolls & whipped honey cinnamon butter. Sooo tasty! The pork chops were perfectly cooked & seasoned. I was not a fan of the shrimp meal unfortunately. The shrimp were terribly overcooked, tiny, and I didn’t enjoy the flavor. I probably wouldn’t order the chili again either, but I am a hard critic on chili so that one for yourselves lol. The salad was good and fresh too! I felt like the portions were okay for the price, minus the shrimp meal, but could be better. I wish there were more side options as well. (Again, I only ordered delivery via DoorDash so that may not be the case inside) I really am a fan of Texas Roadhouse, but didn’t feel like making the trip there so I wanted to give this place a try. Overall though, I’d give Texas Corral another try!
The last three times I’ve ordered a steak cooked medium, it’s come out fully well done. This time, I finally was over it and sent it back. I waited for a new steak, it came out fully well done again. So I sent it back again and just asked the manager for a refund. She said she couldn’t refund me because I used a credit card. (Literally never heard of such a thing at ANY restaurant or business.) So she gave me little $5 business cards/certificates totaling just under my actual total, which is useless for me because I’m not ever coming back. Kind and apologetic hostess, and a kind and apologetic manager, but just get my order right or give me a refund if you can’t seem to get it right repeatedly.
Little Tokyo Japanese Restaurant
Love the decor. Took me back to when I lived overseas as a little girl. The restaurant was chill so I was able to enjoy everything and talk with my partner. I had soba noodles with chicken and veggies. The broth was flavorful, the chicken was tender and the veggies was refreshing. My partner fell in love with chicken Katsu. We were full but not overwhelmed. Will definitely visit again.
Last night, my husband, son, and I were looking for somewhere new (to us) to try. We were craving Japanese. We settled in Little Tokyo because it had ok Google reviews - and was really our only option as we have been everywhere else around the immediate here. Walking in the door should have been our “sign” to go elsewhere. There was a table blocking the doorway that said DoorDash orders. A young guy appeared from behind a curtain, and I asked him if they were only doing to go orders. He seemed surprised but replied no, and moved the table out of the way a little bit for us to get by. He told us to have a seat anywhere. There were no lights nor heat on. About 15 min later he returned to the table and took our order. The lights and heat kicked on. All 3 canned drinks had expiration dates of mid Feb. Not horribly out of date. We ordered a sushi roll, filet mignon stir fry, pork katsudon, edamame, cucumber salad, and shrimp shumai. It took an hour and a half to get it all out. Husband said sushi was ok. My son could have gotten better stir fry at Round the clock. Pretty sure it was pkg and they microwaved it. And my pork katsudon was straight up microwaved. They took rice. Poured eggs over it w pork cutlet previously cooked and zapped it in the microwave. We couldn’t eat either. We also placed a to go order an hour into our meal of a tuna roll and salmon roll (6 pieces each). After an hour and a half, I had to go looking for the kid who was serving the table. He just kept disappearing. We were still the only ppl there. Finally he reappeared and we asked for our to go and the check. Someone came from the kitchen and said it would be 10 min on the to-go😳. So almost 2 hours later we were walking out of the worst meal ever. Getting home found there was only 1 roll not 2 - checked the receipt and gad been charged for both. How does this place have 4.1 stars on Google is beyond me. Never again.
First Wok
Loved the egg Shrimp Egg Roll [1] and General Tso Chicken even though rice was in container away from chicken. I like my rice under my chicken but it was good. But the Crab Rangon [7] was TERRIBLE. I love Crab Rangon [7] that is creamy with flavor, this was an onion dip in crunchy dough seriously. Oh and it doesn't come with the red sauce ALL normal Crab Rangon [7] comes with. Overall an okay place, won't be back though.
I spent 35 minutes talking to these people about my order the same order I keep repeating every time they transfer me it's the same thing they don't sell party trays birthday keep transferring me sand that they do they have poor service there I got transferred eight times.. it's not the same no more and I was going there for years before then they got bad
Council Oak Steaks and Seafood
My visit to Council Oak for dinner was a fantastic experience. This was our third time dining there, and each visit has been exceptional. The waitstaff were incredibly sweet, and everything was served promptly. The food is definitely worth the price. Although I’m not a gambler, I go to the casino just to eat at this amazing restaurant. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great steakhouse, even if it might be a bit pricey for some. Trust me, the experience is worth every penny—you won’t feel cheated. Eating their food brings me so much comfort because it’s incredibly flavorful and delicious. You should definitely try it today!
My friend treated me for my Birthday. The Fresh rolls with garlic butter, Filet Mignon melted in my mouth and cooked to perfection! roasted asparagus with sauce, buttermilk whipped potatoes, finishing with carrot cake and cinnamon sorbet was the best meal I’ve ever had. I look forward to returning again. You are treated royally! Serving sizes was enough to share and still have leftovers to take home! Treat yourself and you will have no regrets!
Riviera Maya Taco & Tequila Bar
Met Sammy today great customer service. The atmosphere was great as well. The food, man it was excellent! I’ve been to plenty of places that don’t season the meat on a taco but this place was on point, seasoned well. Will for sure be back again.
I really wanted this place to be great. I think it has potential maybe I’ll give it another shot. The margarita flights were a big disappointment too sweet and did they even have tequila in them? ( I doubt it) the Queso was watery.. my burrito was delicious and the atmosphere was vibrant.. all in all it was ok.. I’ll be back because this place deserves a second chance
House of Pizza
Nice place!!! A lot of people say best pizza in Hammond! I don't agree with that but everything else I've had on the menu is really great!!! The Panini's are huge and delicious 😋 buffalo chicken dip, the wings come breaded or not and are super good! I love most of their soups and chili is good too! Drinks are really good too!!! Tommy is the best server ever!!! I follow him wherever he goes!!! Oh yeah the lasagna is huge portion and really good also!!! So is most of the pastas! I've tried a lot 😂
First time ordering here. Had a large group order of multiple menu items, but for myself I got the Caesar salad and it gave you the option to add shrimp. I guess because it's a To-go order they put the shrimp in a separate container which is fine. But when i opened the container they looked like this, which isn't fine. Horribly rubbery, overcooked, tasteless. I threw it away, never again! I understand this is a pizza place but if you're going to have shrimp on the menu, your cooks need to know how to cook shrimp
Langel's Pizza
Haven’t been back here in 20 years. Good philly except the bread was overtoasted. Probably could have used more cheese and meat. Fries were good standard steak fries. Also had calzone and it was huge and tasty. Kid said the mac and cheese was the “goat”🐐but it was just Kraft. Note that the soft drinks have no refills…which is atypical for a bar/grill. My sister said the pizza was solid.
Our first time here Monday evening was a chill , they said sit anywhere. It was quite a while before someone came for us to order . We ordered a large cheese pizza and bone in BBQ wings. Wings came first and it was big, hot , fresh and tasty. I usually don't like big wings but they were cooked right . Their BBQ sauce is good but their ranch is the winner 🏆. The pizza was good too ,especially the cheese pull . The thin crust was nice and crispy 🔥! Will definitely order again 👍🏽
Dragon Star Chinese Restaurant
My more 'local' favorite Chinese take out place closed around 9 months ago (Chens in Palatine) and I've been looking for a new one since - after trying a dozen+ restaurants, I think this is the winner! It's a bit of a hike from lake zurich, but so worth it for good Chinese food! (I ordered our usual favorites: sesame chicken, pork lo mein, steamed dumplings, egg roll (and one that I don't always order with my kids, hot and sour soup). I have other favorites, but those ones are the "bare minimum" of "must be great") (The Lo Mein - top right in the pic - is the one thing that I have been searching for someone else to get right since my last place closed.) I also love that for the entree, for a small upcharge, you can swap the standard included white rice for a side of fried rice, or lo mein. We rarely ate much if any of the rice, but we will eat fried rice (lo mein as well, but I usually order that as a second entree!)
One of the few Chinese food restaurants in lake county where I actually liked every dish I bought. Many restaurants in the area are only usually strong and one particular dish which sucks because if I want x I have to go to x restaurant. This is one of the few places that where everything tasted delicious!!
Rivaj Indian Cuisine
I really loved every aspect of this place. Friendly crew, enormous space, yummy food etc.. The dosa varieties are so tasty and you can just stop eating till your tummy says so. Hope I will have the same good taste on my further visits. Worth the money I paid. Not sure how many are concerned about this, but during my last visit, I was impressed with the way they maintained their restroom.
Breakfast buffet here is amazing, every dish was authentic. Amazed by the taste of pesrattu (green mung dosa)
Taste of Tokyo
An amazing floating boat/conveyor belt sushi experience! The staff were so nice and checked in and interactive! All the food was delicious! Staff will sometimes make new creative dishes for you to try. Locals come in as well and the staff remember them! I highly recommend them!
Super friendly staff and atmosphere with wonderful food. Awesome option for those wanting to expand their sushi experience too as the little plates make it easy to try a variety of rolls without committing to a large portion. Everyone is very attentive, and they keep the atmosphere light and friendly.
Poke Bros.
Saladicious !! A peaceful healthy tasty salad place. Love it.
Service is always kind, but during my last few visits, it seems like they are really skimping on the portions. I wouldn’t mind a small increase in price if it meant I could actually get a full bowl. The food is always fresh which is nice and the service is always quick.
The Cheesecake Factory
Host, she was nice and the food was amazing. The waitress Dajah was not so great wasn't at her best figure she was tired from a long day but turns out she seem like she didn't wanted to work or didn't wanted us as her customer. Didn't say hi or anything rude taking our drinks and food order, so we tip base on her service and it wasn't great that didn't stop her from talking to coworkers about our 25 dollars tip which I think it was realistic seem the rest of my party wanted to leave 10 because that's how rude she was. We tip based on service, not how much the bill is. Oh, and it was my 2 of my family birthday so thanks for that
Wow, I feel ripped off. $30 for “shrimp scampi & steak Diane” which was more of a mash potato mushroom soup with pieces of meat in it. The menu claimed it was 1700+ calories but I would be shocked if it was even 200. 3 pieces of shrimp & like 4 pieces of meat. It definitely wasn’t what a sane person would call a steak.
