TAWAKKUL RESTAURANT
I have been eating fry meat but it’s not as good all box of fry meat is old and become blue in color please have a look at upload picture I also have complained this to the owner but nothing changes. Also they hide blue colour meat and taste after they made well done cooked. After spending much money on that you should skip this restaurant and visit some local restaurants and going to request city do some inspections on meat i feel very bad my stomach hurts.
The food here is quite disappointing, especially the haleem and noodles. We initially came for biryani, but after waiting for 10 minutes, we were told it would take another 30 minutes, so we had to reorder due to hunger. The noodles were overly oily, and the haleem was even worse - lacking any real taste of mutton and made almost entirely of flour. The consistency was completely off.
Taste of Canton
Excellent E-Fu noodles. BBQ pork fried rice is tasty and not greasy. String beans are fresh and crispy. Chicken noodle soup a bit bland. Portions are appropriate for price. Overall better than average, especially for the price. I'll be back for the E-Fu for sure.
Everytime you find a restaurant with a parking lot is a plus. This restaurant is 1-2 mile west of Chinatown and has a full menu from authentic Chinese food to western fused chinese food (egg foo young). The food is above average, service is attentive, and price is fair. Overall, I recommend this place.
Jiang Niu BBQ House Chinatown
Fantastic spot for authentic Chinese barbecue in Chicago. The flavors are rich, the meat is great, and the variety on the menu is impressive. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming. Highly recommend for a great dining experience
We came for our friend's bday. Their option is different than what we are used in Ga. Overall, I like that the meat is more thinly sliced. This place has more veggie options. Loved the smores!
Wing Wah Lau Restaurant
Really great Chinese takeout. Hard to find good Americanized Chinese takeout that’s not super upscale in the Chicago area, but this place hits it right on the head. Huge portions, good food (really good fried rice), and cheap (especially considering the portion sizes).
Great Service and food is delicious! They go above and beyond. I ordered through a delivery app. and some of my order was missing, but the young man who answered the phone said he would deliver the rest of my order and he sure did! Very happy with their service and food. We've been ordering from Wing Wah Lau for over 10 years.
China Kitchen
First time trying this place. I used delivery and there was a $8.29 delivery charge so just be aware if you choose delivery. We ordered the steamed dumplings(pork)- $6.95, small spicy chicken low mein(we asked for it to be spicy)- $7.95, and the dinner special for the Mongolian Beef that came with 1 egg roll and egg fried rice-$10.25. The steamed dumplings were huge but very doughy. Normally for the steamed dumplings I was expecting the thinner casing. I feel like these were closer to potstickers that they steamed. The pork was good though and the dipping sauce was tasty. The spicy chicken low mein and fried rice were very bland and plain. Once I added additional soy sauce, it was ok. The Mongolian beef was very tender and delicious but the Mongolian sauce itself was bland. The egg roll was great and probably the highlight. We are taking leftovers so the kids can try and I’ll update this review with their feedback. It was hard to order as I called 773-693-3223 and they took my phone number down and said someone would call me back. No one called for 10min so I called back and they had me on hold. Then said the restaurant would call me back so I think the business number is someone’s cell phone and then they reach out to the restaurant and get the call back. The delivery service that they used is nice because it sends you a link so you can track your order and the person was very nice. Don’t forget to tip your delivery people!
The Pan-fried dumplings are a must-dish in our household. The lunch and dinner specials are excellent options that consistently meet our expectations. They have prompt service and efficient delivery, accompanied by a courteous staff. Additionally, they maintain later hours, making them a dependable choice for Chinese food. Ample parking is also available.
China Express
I just moved into the neighborhood, and decided to try out this restaurant, I ordered shrimp fried rice and sweet and sour chicken, the chicken was good but the rice had regular onion instead of their usual green string onion. I have never in my lifetime fe seen that type on onion in shrimp fried rice. I did not like it at all. I had to share. Below is the picture of all the onions I took out.
I recently dined at this Chinese restaurant and was blown away by the environment! It's so inviting and beautifully decorated. The service was attentive, and the food was incredibly fresh. I love how healthy the dishes are, without being too oily. Highly recommend
Che Thai Restaurant
It’s decent food for the price. Fresh and enough flavour. I liked the Korean wings. I also had a lunch menu with drunken noodles. Considering it’s a starter+main+drink for under 15$ it was a good choice, but don’t expect a lot of protein, unfortunately not even many veggies. But it tasted good. My partner had orange chicken, it did have orange taste and was in the sweetest side, I am not a fan of sweet but not spicy (although he is) so I personally can’t say I would order it for myself.
The food was ok. I say that based on extensive time in Thailand mainly the Isarn region where I have an apartment. Ironically the high end Thai restaurants in town are not as good as this little place so while I give a 3 the expensive places called Thai that are more like Chinese, Issues are, they want westerners to eat there! Go figure. What will bring me back to Che Thai was the customer service from , TK, Tiki very sweet, kind and helpful, she brightened my day. Kop Khun Krup! .
Chim Thai Cuisine
I love eating here. I like trying something different every time and am never disappointed! I appreciate that they let you choose which protein you want for some of the dishes. Staff are also very friendly, and the atmosphere is nice and cozy.
This is one of the best Thai restaurants on the Northside if not one of the best in the city. The consideration is given to tastiness, price, portion and service. My wife and I are Thai food connoisseurs and have visited my Thai restaurants. This is got one of the best curry in we have tasted. I’m a big fan of the drunken noodle Pek Kee Mao with Beef and this place does a very nice job with it. It’s never too dry and done just right. The curries are all really good. We have dined at this restaurant several times. Highly recommended!
7 STAR
This place has good portions just felt like the rice was a bit bland in my opinion you might need some salt on the fried rice. The beef sticks and the other sides had good flavor i like the egg rolls they had good flavor as well we spent about 30 bucks on 2 large combos egg rolls, beef sticks.
Good food, Big portions and very good price!!!
YooYee 喜又
Top-tier Szechuan food better than most places in Chinatown. This place is so good that it’s beating out the established Szechuan restaurants in the city. Dishes are authentic, well made, and has a level of fineness and attention to detail that’s usually missing at Chinese restaurants The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed. The restaurant looks bright, simple, and clean. Service is fast and attentive. Price is very affordable too. We ordered 4 dishes with respectable portion and it came out to be $67 before tips. You are getting a lot of value for the money. I’m very amazed by this place and will definitely come here on a regular basis. Note: free parking is available at the parking lot of the grocery store next door. So no need to struggle with finding street parking, which is always a huge plus. But please before to go earlier because there will be a wait.
Absolutely incredible experience! This is hands down one of the best Sichuan restaurants I’ve ever been to. Every dish was bursting with flavor, perfectly spicy, beautifully balanced, and authentic to the core. We ordered several dishes, and every single one was amazing. The staff was friendly, and the service was quick and attentive without being rushed. I will definitely be coming back, and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for real, flavorful Chinese food.
Dong Ky Vietnamese restaurant
My friends and I came here for a quick lunch! It wasn’t busy at all! My favorite was the spring rolls, love the sauce that came with it! The chicken wings were small but crispy and tasty! My friend had the congee and it was creamy and smooth! I had the noodle soup and the noodles were different than the picture on the menu, it should be flat and wide but I got round and thin noodles instead! The soup was tasty and not too salty at all!
I’ve been coming here consistently for 4-5 years to get their Bun Bo Hue! It’s flavorful, spicy, and rich. The noodles have a great texture and bounce. It’s authentic and warms up your soul. I don’t really like their Banh mi as much though, but the noodle and rice dishes are good for their cheap price!
Jibek Jolu
The restaurant was small and exquisite, with a ceiling adorned with the Kyrgyz flag’s totem. We started with Boosork bread, which had a chewy and soft texture that reminded us of New Orleans beignets, but with the addition of sweet sour cream. It was delicious! The Tashkent chai, a mix of black tea, green tea, mint, and lime, was refreshingly flavorful. The cheburek, resembling Argentinian empanadas, was filled with minced beef and cilantro and was a hit with the boys. I preferred the Samsa, which had a strong beef flavor. We highly recommend the eggplant salad, featuring a candy-like exterior, soft eggplant, and a sweet sauce. Our friend said it was the best eggplant dish he’s ever had. The Manty were like large dumplings with a pure beef flavor, complemented by a tomato sauce, quite different from those in other countries. The Boso lagman noodles had an incredibly springy texture. Each dish had its unique characteristics, and the service was excellent. We highly recommend giving this place a try.
This place has THE BEST CENTRAL ASIAN FOOD!!! Service is amazing, food is on another level and everyone is so nice and welcoming! We came in here to celebrate my friend’s birthday and they were so kind to give us their special cake bringing candles and lights with music! This experience was so special and I will definitely be coming back here soon! My favorite place in Chicago 💯
