Asian Wok Chinese Restaurant
Best Chinese food I've had in YEARS. Get the lemon chicken! The sweet and sour sauce is also excellent. Food came out dish by dish but I don't care. Everything was super hot and fresh and delicious. The people were also kind. I will 1000% be coming back regularly!
Good food and friendly service. Not too big atmosphere too crowded. Thorough in preparing utensils and set ups for travelers(forks, spoon, napkins, etc) We appreciate your service Thank you
Wok Fusion
Once again, nothing but delicious! Forgot to take pictures of the delicious meal beforehand, but as you can see from the plates, delicious! Nothing left. We had pork and seeds and spring rolls as an appetizer. We had the Mandarin chicken and also the Szechuan scallops and shrimp. Thank you for always being so consistently delicious!
It was mine and my husband's first time. I was thrilled to see pork and seeds on the menu and it was absolutely delicious!! The mustard was good too. Husband had General's chicken and fried rice and loved it. I had sweet and sour chicken with white rice, both delicious. We'll definitely be back!!
Panda Express
Fried rice was just okay. It just tasted like white rice with some egg in it. I felt like they forgot to add soy sauce when they're cooking it. The rice was even white in color..it's usually a little brown. Chow mein was good. I've eaten there before, and it was overloaded with veggies, not today, very good ratio. Overall, for the low price you pay at Panda, it's still a good deal. Store and bathrooms were clean. Staff were super nice and friendly.
My friends tell me that im a regular to this place. I love the food! The service is pretty good, it really depends on the worker giving you your food. This being some workers are nicer than others. The atmosphere is definitely loud. Sometimes there is a line that goes out the door so don't come during rush hour or you'll have to wait outside in a line.
Red Pavilion Mandarin Cuisine
The red pavilion was good, maybe even great but not excellent. The complimentary rice chips with sweet and sour sauce is not going to make me give this place a five star rating. The service was good but not excellent. The food was good but not excellent. The pricing was a bit much for what you get and for the type of restaurant. We tried a few different items and then felt like we were being rushed to leave. I know a much better place in Meridian if your looking for larger quantities of food at a better price and the food is actually pretty darn good too. Although it is not fancy looking like the red pavilion. So…do you want great food at a great price with great proportions? Or do you want smaller portions that are more expensive and not quite as tasty, but in a fancy setting? Sorry, but I prefer the better food regardless of the price and quantity. So I’m giving the pavilion a four star rating and I’m sticking with my favorite.
I haven’t been to all the Chinese food restaurants in Boise by any stretch of the imagination but I’ve been to a few, and this is one of the best I’ve had so far. The staff was very kind as soon as we entered the restaurant, and had no issue with us needing a while to find out what we wished to eat. They came and refilled our waters very often, and checked in often to make sure we were all set and content. Everyone there was quite amiable. Unfortunately, the dish of one of the members I was dining with took a very long time to arrive, about half an hour after the first members of our group ate theirs. It was frustrating how long it took, because it was just a skillet dish and didn’t even need to be plated. Thankfully, we had ordered lo mein and she was able to eat that until hers arrived. Although, all but two of the entrees for our group arrived after two other groups nearby who had arrived about 20 minutes later, but it wasn’t that big of an issue. The food was FANTASTIC. I chose the Ruby Red Chicken as my entree (orange chicken) and it was outstanding. There was plenty of sauce pooled up in the plate so that you can make the pieces extra saucy. As for the human street fry, one of the entrees ordered by my group, super flavourful, very spicy, and includes thinly sliced habaneros. For the Iron Beef Sizzler, tasty, with well cooked vegetables and meat. For the General Tso’s Chicken, tasty, and the group member who got it requested mild, but wished that she had gotten medium because the mild level was VERY mild. For the Beef Crown Broccoli, very very good, and the beef was very flavourful. As for the Rice Stick combo was a fantastic dish, gluten free and tasty along with it. But, the fried rice was a bit of a let down, it didn’t seem fried at all, but more like steamed rice with vegetables. There was plenty of food, not just on my plate but on the plates of the others in my group; leftovers were taken home. Overall, everyone enjoyed their food throughly. There are complimentary chips, known as “Chinese Chips and Salsa”. It’s technically not salsa, but it is sweet & sour sauce along with wonton chips, and it was stupendous. The pot stickers are a MUST GET!!! These may be the best pot stickers I have ever had; the dough was perfect, it wasn’t greasy, and the soy sauce was great. I cannot quite put into words how good these pot stickers were. My group also ordered the Crunchy Calamari, which I did not try as I am not a fan of seafood, however those who tried it in my group very much enjoyed it. Our initial water tasted slightly papery, (I did not use a straw so it could not have been that) but honestly, I was really thirsty and it wasn’t THAT noticeable, and my refill did not taste like paper, so it was maybe nothing. No one in my group seemed to notice it, but I thought it was worth mentioning. Please come to this restaurant, eat, and enjoy! You will enjoy it, there’s something on the menu for every variation of Chinese food lover!
Oriental Dragon
I liked getting the orange chicken here. It’s always still pretty crunchy even with the sauce on. I would also pour some of the orange sauce on the noodles to add to the noodles flavor. The veges are mediocre. The food here is sold according to the weight/lbs.
Panda Express
For quick and cheap Americanized Chinese food, I recommend this place. (For clarity, I have found Panda Expresses have wild swings in quality depending on a few factors. So this is a review of my experience at this specific location.) FOOD: Surprisingly good. The teriyaki chicken has been a favorite of mine, but this is the first time I had a proper sear on the chicken. The orange chicken was its typical acceptable guilty pleasure. The chow mein had a better texture than usual, likely due to the cook getting the wok temp up to appropriate heat. It takes gumption and confidence to risk the burn for a proper sear. SERVICE: The service was surprisingly good. Cordial, polite, helpful, and not chock full of platitudes or useless filler conversation. He simply took my order, got it right, and handed me my food. He got the portion a touch big, but I don't mind... ATMOSPHERE: To the fault of corporate, the music was horrible. I give them credit for turning it down some, but then all the conversations surround you. I recognize that you don't go to a Panda Express for the atmosphere, but Corporate, spend a little more to avoid pop music from Wish, please. The tables were clean, the chairs pushed in, and the trashes were empty. (I ate here at 4:45 for reference, so not peak time.) CONCLUSION: For a Panda Express, it is operated above average and my experience was enjoyable, as a quick meal between Home Depot and some house chores.
I placed an order on line that was $60. For fast food, I consider that a pretty big order… online said it would be ready at 7:05. Husband got there at 7:00 they had 5/6 meals done and were waiting on one. They said 2-3 minutes. 7:17 the ONE meal is not ready all the rest have been sitting on the counter for almost 20 minutes and they still couldn’t give a time line. I had to call and talk to manager Jacob who was much nicer than the kid who picked up the phone and laughed at me. But still nothing was done. The broccoli beef had 1 piece of beef all the rest was mushy cold broccoli which I included a photo of. $60 for cold mushy food, and pretty pathetic customer service. I most definitely won’t be ordering here ever again.
Joy Garden
Not sure why it’s so hard to find great Chinese food like in New York or south Florida. This is supposed to be Mongolian beef, fried rice and egg rolls not sure why they are so big. Really not pleased with the food!! The beef is spongy weird tasting and there’s very little of it with a bunch of vegetables fried rice was plain and those gigantic egg rolls were not very good. Waste of money!!
Food: Low quality meat and ingredients. Portion sizes are large, but the quality of ingredients is very poor. I wouldn’t return to this restaurant. Here is what we tried: Broccoli Beef: VERY rubbery meat, sauce was okay (lacking in flavor), veggies cooked well. I don’t know what they used as a tenderizer but it’s super gross. We ate the broccoli from this and left the rest. Mandarin and Orange Chicken: placed together on a plate so unsure which was which. It’s chicken thigh and pretty fatty. How they bread huge chunks of thigh together so lots of it is over cooked. It’s kinda chopped up in massive chunks which makes it rubbery as well. One of the sauces was okay flavor wise, but not which one. Again, large portion but horrible quality of meat. I’d be okay with half the meat portion if they used chicken breast and did small bite size pieces. The breading itself was tempera style and not bad, but the execution just killed it. Majority of this left on the plate untouched. Fried rice: okay flavor, but extra oil added (greasy). We ate this because we had to eat something. BBQ pork and seed: What a joke! They put 4 teeny pieces of dried pork on the plate. No sauces or anything making it pork and seed. Just the dry pork. Hard pass on this one. Crab Rangoon: The only decent item we had. As you can tell food was an utter disappointment. Service: It was okay. About what you expect, but expecting $5+ to just drop off food and not check in with guests is outrageous. Price: Overall prices are decent but poor quality and NOT worth perceived “savings”. As for our check the price seemed high when we were checking out, but so didn’t have the menu to reference. We just paid for a shitty meal and left. Over half the food was not eaten (2 people) and they didn’t bother to ask how the meal was. Note to Joy Garden. It was nasty and we won’t return. Anyways … on the drive home I pulled up the menu online and they overcharged us $5 which just pisses me off further. Spending $30 for us to leave home still hungry as your gross Chinese food still sits on the plate means loss of business. We LOVE supporting local, but not this restaurant
Panda Express
Okay my husband and I have never been to a Panda (surprisingly), and it was actually pretty awesome. The front order taker, Lesly, was super helpful, patient, and just genuinely caring. Since we have never been before, she gave us advice and gave us lots of samples even though the store was busy tonight at 9 PM. She never complained once about helping us and had a very positive attitude towards us. Because of her, we will definitely be coming back again. I just wish there was a way to tip her personally since we didn’t have cash. Thanks for the awesome service Lesly! The food was pretty good too! My broccoli was still a bit firm but I’m not sure if that is normal or what. Good job Lesly and Panda Express!
I always love me some Panda Express. Most of the time when I come here, the food always taste fresh and great. Last night I went to dinner with my friends, and it was still good, but I was left a little disappointed. Maybe I just came at the wrong time, but both my chow mein and Honey Sesame Chicken tasted as if had been sitting in the pan for quite some time. The chicken was a little harder than usual. The Chow Mein and the Honey Sesame Chicken both just did not taste as fresh. I still devoured the food though because I just love Panda Express! But if you decide to eat here, try going at busier times where they are making more food that is fresh, or maybe right when they open. That being said, the restaurant was very clean and the staff were very nice! Overall, the service was very excellent from the staff. They were nice but also moving quick and efficiently.
Evergreen China Buffet
I am from Washington endless camera for a China Buffet. It's about 2:00 in the afternoon and they had lots of options. The food is pretty good some of it was been sitting there for a while so it's pretty hard to eat. I don't think I suggest the sushi for it didn't look very good. The best thing I loved was the fresh shrimp, the mushrooms potstickers. They have a variety of dessert items. I also suggest waiting for the chicken for sweet n sour chicken.
This location needs to improve, it looks run down and dirty. It’s the second time I visit this place and it looks worst than the first time. The steamed clams are full of sand. Unfortunately it is the only Chinese Buffet in town.
Panda Express
This is a good "fast" way to get some Chinese food. It's made in bulk, and you simply go in and tell them what you want. You can see all the dishes behind glass in front of you. It's a bit pricey, but ok. Lots of food for the price if you get the 3 course plus a side option. You can easily get two meals from it. Good option for a lunch that's different than burgers and fries!
The food is always good. But whoever was cooking Saturday Nov 23 did an awesome job! Everything we ordered was extra good! My favorite was that the Orange Chicken wasn't so spicy! I loved it! I always wondered why don't they just make it mild and if others want more heat, let them add thier own pepper flakes? Best of both worlds. I'm sure a lot more folks would come for the Orange Chicken if it wasn't so darn hot!
Panda Express
I’ve visited this place many, many times as a DoorDasher as well as a customer. The food is always delicious and served in fairly generous portions (not quite as generous as other locations I’ve been to) I have at times felt rushed in ordering as well as payment (especially through the drive-thru) As a Dasher, this is my absolute favorite location to pickup from. They are always very quick and helpful. As for the photo of the drink, they gave this to me complimentary due to not having the DoorDash order ready when I arrived. This isn’t the first time that I have been greeted in this way, AMAZING Customer Service. Only recommendations for staff: #1 LARGER Portion sizes (the food cost doesn’t come out of your pocket so please fill up those plates and extra sides) #2 SMILE MORE, when you act like you enjoy working more customers will come back to enjoy your food. #3 Help customers feel comfortable by giving them the time they need to order and pay.
I’ve had multiple frustrating experiences at the Panda Express in Rexburg, and this last one sealed it for me. I ordered online and was told my food would be ready by a certain time. I showed up, only to find that the woman at the counter hadn’t even received or acknowledged my order. No apology—just confusion and attitude. I waited an extra 15 minutes in-store, and when she finally handed me the bag, she asked, “Is there anything else I can grab you?” I said, “Sure, could I get some chopsticks?” Her response: “You didn’t say that on your order, but sure, here.” If that’s the kind of attitude you get for making a simple request, why ask at all? The customer service was unprofessional and unwelcoming. This isn’t the first time I’ve had issues here, but it’s definitely the last. Not worth going back.
Panda Express
Ordered 2 hours ahead and still waited 30min. Did not tell me I would be waiting for rice. Thanks for the great 60 min lunch and cost me money to wait for food. Also's watching your customers get food in compensation while they wait while I sat out in the lobby for a family meal. This is just unacceptable.
Our experience at this PE has always been positive. Even when it's really busy the lines inside and out in drive thru go pretty quickly. We definitely appreciate the employees always being friendly and professional even when super busy.
