Fortunato's Italian Pizzeria
We arrived midday and were greeted by a very friendly staff. we were delightfully, surprised by a lunch menu with lots of specials. so good to find an authentic Italian restaurant with fresh food – a definite change of pace from the typical chain restaurant scene. The picture of the meatball sub in my post is half of the sub. My wife and I were sharing a sub and a Greek salad, which we together could not finish because it was so large.
We live nearby so we order from here at least once a month. The pizza and pasta dishes are always delicious and our go to. The chicken wings, Greek salad, subs are also very good. If you like dill the potato salad is something I would definitely recommend. Tried the California wrap (chicken, bacon, ranch wrap) for the first time and it was definitely lackluster. The chicken tasted like precooked Tyson chicken strips and the bacon tasted and looked like bagged bacon bits you'd get at the grocery store. Would not recommend the wrap unless you don't mind those 2 things. Overall a great restaurant especially if you stick to what they are known for.
Jimmy's Sushi Bar and Japanese Restaurant
First time trying out Jimmy’s Sushi Bar & Japanese Restaurant. Definitely a 5 star rating here!!! Extensive selection of sushi rolls from simple to extravagant rolls!! Had Crab Rangoon for an appetizer which was delicious!! Service was beyond amazing!!! Food was brought out promptly and looked great!! All the rolls we ordered were colorful, fresh and tasted sooo good!! Definitely recommend this gem of a restaurant!! Will look forward to visiting again to try more of their foods. They also have a lot more variety of foods in addition to their excellent sushi!!! 🍱 Keep up the great work everyone!!!
We went to jimmys sushi bar and it was amazinggggg. We got hot sake which I was not a huge fan of but I never tried it before and the sushi chef even gave us another one for free. Then lychee sake which was a hit, so tasty. The sushi we got a Philadelphia roll which was good but a bit basic. Then we got a Florida roll deep fried it was delicious, then the mount fiji roll which was my personal fav, it had a bunch of toppings and had a sweet taste to it which I thoroughly enjoyed. Everything came out extremely fast and the waitress even gave me personalized chopsticks she tied up with rubber bands because I am not the best at maneuvering them on my own. It was around $75 before tip and was well worth our money as for 3 rolls we had soooo much food leftover. I would definitely recommend!
Rock N' Raw (in Seminole Hard Rock Tampa)
Service was so slow. We waited almost an hour for a table and 45 minutes for food (including 20 mins from sitting down waiting for our waitress to even take our drink order). The sushi is good but still overpriced. Bao buns were lacking filling and overpriced for the amount of food you get. Entrees were okay but nothing special. The table split was weird so I couldn’t even hear my party and the music was blaring.
Happy New Year! Rock N Raw Sushi 🍣 This place is Epic! Food is served in Minutes. Their Fish used is imported fresh from Japan. This is the Real Way of Making Sushi. Ask for Thomas. WeVegan Cafe
I ordered through this company for Valentine's Day, and boy was it a lesson learned. You would think that a company selling freshly baked perishable food items to be shipped through UPS across the country would use the 2 day delivery, but this seller used ground shipping. Mind you, UPS offers merchants shipping discounts for using them. After several days of no response from the seller through email, I reached out to UPS. I spent over an hour on the phone trying to get them to expedite my package, explaining that it was supposed to arrive on Valentine's Day or at the latest the 15th as it was full of perishable food items. They apologized for the shipping issues and then explained that the merchant used UPS ground (the 3-5 business day shipping option), but ended up helping me sort it out the best they could. When the items arrived a few were slightly banged up, but the mini cake came damaged. My impression of what kind of care was taken into consideration for packing these items was that it was a complete afterthought. It was just saran wrap, then wrapped in a layer of tissue paper, stuck in a shallow mailer, more tissue paper shoved in and hoped for the best? My partner and I tried the brownie (one of the few items that was banged up), which looked nothing like the photos and was very dry. We then tried the strawberry cookie, which was still moist, but tasted straight out of a box cake mix. It has that Betty Crocker/Pillsbury artificial strawberry flavor, and I've made something EXACTLY like it before. My partner unfortunately didn't like it. Had I known I was going to receive items that looked and tasted like something from a school bake sale (or that I could have made at home for less than $2), I wouldn't have paid so much money for it. Additionally the paper that accompanied the package explaining ingredients didn't even include most of the items I got, looks like a generic list of their classic items. I'm so disappointed because I wanted to support a locally owned vegan company from somewhere my partner and I never had before, and I feel like I was burned. Next time I'll stick to my local vegan spots..
This is the bast vegan breakfast in Tampa! The service is excellent, the coffee is top notch and the vegan desert selection is impressive! I drive all the way from northdale just to get breakfast for me and my family. Thank you, WE VEGAN for being so dope!!!
The Mediterranean Chickpea
I recently visited Mediterranean Chicpea and it was an absolute delight! From the moment I walked in, the service was amazing. The owners are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met—they truly go above and beyond to make you feel at home. The food was delicious, with authentic Mediterranean flavors that you can tell are made with love and care. Every dish was fresh, vibrant, and perfectly seasoned. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for both casual dining and special occasions. If you’re looking for amazing food and even better service, this is the place to go. I can’t wait to come back and bring friends to share the experience! Highly recommend!
Had their mix mezze platter and za’atar pie. The good thing about this place is that it serves all home cooked food. Their babaghanoush is creamy and has a smoky flavor, their hummus varieties are also nice and so is the moussaka, which is vegetarian. The host/owner is also very sweet and would often ask if we were doing okay and how everything tasted. She gave us two pieces of lavash and a small cup of dip with the meal. However, there were a few things that didn’t feel great to me. Everything except the bread with zataar spice was cold, including the mujadara and the moussaka, and the mujadara (rice and lentils) was also less in quantity.
Woody's Famous Salads - South Tampa

We had the pick two. It was delicious, fast and friendly
Rouen Thai Restaurant
For $27 dollars a meal. It’s not that good, and the portions are SMALL.

There are a lot of things to like about Flames. First off, even while they had a party of like 20 people, they were still able to seat us immediately. Even though they had this large party, our food came out relatively quick. Tandoori chicken was flavorful and savory. Chicken tikka was also great. My favorite thing was their $9 salad, which could very well be a meal for some people. The decor is warm and inviting. Two people can easily get out of here for under $50 with tip included which is amazing in this day and age. The only downside might be parking as it is a bit tight and not many spots to choose from, but it did not impact us on this trip. I would definitely come here again. In fact, I might rate this as one of my favorite Indian restaurants in Tampa.
Marco's Pizza
I called to check the status of my pizza, I was not rude in any way but clearly it was taken that way, the driver sent me a text saying to wish him luck that a drink driver didn't kill him and this is how my pizza arrived... Seriously... Why was this necessary. The pizza is good but I'll never order it again!
I used to love marcos. When their food is right, it is good. 4 out of my last 5 orders had problems. This has been within the last couple months. One night, it was really late and not many places were open. So I ordered delivery. I am convinced that the driver just went home with my pizza. I don't know what happened but they NEVER showed up. I ordered maybe about 30 minutes until closing (this is why I am convinced they took my pizza.) By the time I realized that my pizza NEVER ARRIVED, it was too late to call the store because they were closed. And no one knew anything about it the next morning. Two out of my last 5 orders had mushrooms, and I HATE mushrooms. And the finale, today I ordered a phily with double steak, and it had sausage!!!!! Sausage and steak are so gross together. And of course, today I can't go back and pick up a replacement. Who in the hell would order sausage and steak? How do you even make a mistake like that! On a phily???
Sakana Sushi Restaurant
Quality of food and raw fish is amazing for the happy hour price. After eating many rolls without any modifications, we decided next time we would modify ingredients within the roll (for example, cucumber was in quite a bit of the rolls we got but we felt it would taste better without cucumber and instead with avocado). Again, tasted great but we have had better rolls with different ingredients at other sushi restaurants. Jadyn was an amazing server and was on top of everything during a dinner rush!
Great local spot for sushi. The fish is always extremely fresh! If you come on a Friday or Saturday night expect to wait a little - but it’s worth it! They also have a wide array of other options for food - fried rice, lo mein, etc. I’d say it’s pretty casual in terms of the atmosphere. My boyfriend and I sat at the sushi bar and it was lovely. The service was good but not great- again because they were so busy! Regardless we will be back!
Mr. & Mrs. Crab - Gandy
We are visiting the area, and we were looking for a casual place for some good seafood. A quick search led me here, and I'm so glad it did!! It's such a cute little place, the service was great, our food came out fast and everything was wonderful!! My husband had the catfish bites, and he said they were really good. I had the create your own seafood boil-1/2lb.- Shrimp (no head)- garlic butter - medium heat - with corn added, and it was delicious!! The flavor and amount of heat were perfect! We hope to make it back again before we leave the area!!
Our first visit won’t be our last! We ordered calamari, lobster bisque, salad and the basic boil. All were excellent and more than enough food for 2 of us. The salad was huge, big portion of soup and the boil was a lot of food. This rivals our favorite seafood boil spot on Tybee Island.
Taste of Boston
Super chill place for seafood. It's Boston style food, in Tampa, playing reggae. It works. We started with the hush puppies which were big. Order of 8 was perfect for the 4 of us. It comes with honey if you want sweet, or some other type of savory sauce. Very good, not greasy. Food was good. Portions are hearty and the quality of the fresh stuff is great. I had the grouper fish tacos. So much grouper in them. Also had the cold lobster roll and it was pretty packed with meat. Kids got fish n chips and chicken tenders. Both were fine for them lots of fries for sides, and they are those good fries that don't get soggy and maintain a bit of a bite throughout the meal. Kids meals came with an ice cream cup, and they lived that. Place is quaint, on the water, reasonably priced for seafood, and the staff was friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend.
We visit ballast point often and finally tried this place out, it’s been a must at each visit since. Their fish and chips are mine and my husbands favorite and each one of their soups are equally delicious! We just recently tried their ice which did not disappoint!! There’s free parking and designated restaurant parking, great views of Tampa, and a nice dock to walk down before or after your meal. We can’t wait to come back!
