Shanghai
Very friendly, welcoming before you’re even through the door, smells amazing as you walk in. English is not the first language so you know it’s good. Reasonable pricing for such delicious food. Big menu selection as well. I’d highly recommend coming here.
Easily the best egg rolls around. I mean come on, look at that fry. Love Shanghai it’s the only place my fiancé and I order this style of food from and the owner is a super friendly guy.
Monroe Falafel
Happened upon this place looking for something to eat in an area I knew nothing about. Did I ever luck out. Really amazing food, and great service. If you are in the area go here.
Came for lunch and had a delicious chicken and falafel wrap. Extremely tasty and full of flavor. Grabbed some baba ghanoush and hummus on the way out the door.
Galapagos Restaurant
Food was amazingly good. Wish the place was bigger but definitely would go often if I lived nearby
Great staff, always welcoming. I have order food for parties and they work with your budget as well as give you ideas. Love this place.
Newtown Pizza Palace
Stopped off highway on route to PA. Thought re diner down the street but very crowded parking lot so ended up here. So glad we stopped here! Excellent, varied menu! Good server (thank you Briana), big sandwiches and big ‘small salads’. Took good care of husbands dairy allergy too. Free soup was a nice touch. Our new stop on route! Thank you!
So like y’all know I love me some pizza… & this one right here like mmm unexplainable taste of the sauce! I loved the sauce. In many places I’ve too i ask for light sauce but this one made to my tops pizza place! Too bad I live soooo far! BEST welcoming ever at a eating stop! I wanted to ask his name but I was shy to do so! But his the man with white hair at the front and Boss vibe lol!! Very very welcoming and very friendly! Yes am the Dominican girl if you read this! Place is super clean and plenty of parking. BTW CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP 10/10. Thank you so much.
DrewbaQ Food Truck & Smoke Shack
It's super bowl Sunday. Just got home to eat what my wife and I ordered. Brisket, Mac and cheese, fries. Hard to explain what's going on here... here's my best description of the food though. -Brisket, very briney/corned flavor. Not smoked thoroughly, or at all? No bark either, just a little crisp from bbq basting under a broil. Store bought bbq sauce (we think?) However, very tender and juicy. Not a "smoke house" flavor though, which is what you'd expect. - Mac and cheese.. I'll quote my 5 year old daughter... "It's just like the one at school!" She loved it lol. My wife and I not so much. It's the same flavor profile as a longhorn, chili's, outback. Plain, manufactured. - Fries. Ended up going out to the racoons in the backyard, no joke. Again, store bought variety and I've worked in enough restaurants to know the smell and taste of 2-3 week old fry oil. Yuck. The reception over the phone, and in person was very pleasant though. Employees get an A+. Not worth my $45+ dollars. Bummed out. Haven't had BBQ in a while, and this place was close. Might try again? Bad timing??
People were nice, but the brisket sandwhich wasn’t great at all and not cheap to say the least. Very disappointed. Had high hopes. The roll definitely wasn’t fresh and the Mac and cheese that came on the sandwhich was cold. I also didn’t think the brisket was anything special. For $15 I also expected a side of some sort to come with it. Literally all I got was a not fresh roll with a couple slices of brisket slathered in a mediocre bbq sauce and an ice cream scoop of cold Mac n cheese. I’m giving 2 stars because I feel bad and the mac n cheese wasn’t that bad. Just wish it was warm.
Misimi - Hibachi. Asian Fusion. Sushi. Bar
I can’t believe I live so close and just discovered Misimi! This spot is tucked away in the back of a plaza on a busy road, and I’m so glad we finally gave it a try. We’ll definitely be back often! The menu is packed with Asian fusion options, so there’s always something new to try. The homemade crab Rangoon and duck bao bun specials really stood out for us. We have high standards for bao buns, and these were perfect—soft, fluffy, and not dry at all! The ambiance was also a pleasant surprise—such a beautiful setting for a hibachi night. Our server was fantastic, even suggesting we try the garlic aioli with the bao buns, which was a total game-changer. They also have great lunch and happy hour deals that make it even better. I can’t say enough good things about this place—it’s a must-try!
Not sure how this place is still open with the way they operate their business. They scam people so if you dine in you get a normal portion size but if you ever order for take out as my family did TWICE they give you what looks like someone else’s left overs. I was wrong to go back a second time after the first issue. Today I called my order in and the women asked me about my order three times and I clarified multiple times. When I showed up to pick it up I opened the bag because I had a terrible experience last time and it was missing one whole hibachi plate. They had me wait 10 mins to make the additional plate for my order. Once I got home I opened the bag and JUST LIKE LAST TIME what they did was open the one plate and split the salmon and steak to make the second order that they forgot!! I called in and spoke to “bow or Boa” who is apparently the owner and he was very rude and stated that it was pretty much ok they did that because they didn’t charge me for the plate that they forgot initially!! He then proceeded to text me rudely after I sent photos of the order telling to come pick up my money and to never return there again as if I would ever! Do not go to a place like this terrible customer service, dishonest and scammers charging full price and giving you crumbs!!!
Sushi 2020
This was our (wife and I) first time eating at Sushi 2020. The ambiance was warm, with soft music playing. The food was great! Take a look at the pics. I was especially surprised by the house salad which was one of the best house salads I ever had at a sushi restaurant. The service was perfect. I think one of the owners helped us and she was very sweet. I’ll definitely come back again. Next time I’ll bring the kids.
This place is a cute mom and pop type of restaurant serving both japanese and korean cuisine. I personally got a bento box for takeout which came with 제육볶음 (spicy stir-fried pork) 잡채 ( japchae/sweet potato noodles) 김치 (kimchi), miso soup, salad, and rice. Everything in that bento was definitely made with love and care, extremely fresh and flavorful. Also the lady/ owner is super friendly, she even wished me luck for my trip to korea. Definitely check this place out if you’re in the area.
Wild Kanji Hibachi & Bistro
Went for hibachi for a Christmas party.. I don’t even eat hibachi, I ordered off their menu, but these men went above and beyond to make sure our group of almost 20 had an absolute blast!! It happened to be my birthday, so one of our hibachi chefs made a 36 on his grill and lit it on fire, they sang happy birthday and brought me a complimentary slice of cake. The chefs also kept the sake FLOWING and the entertainment high the entire night. I ordered sushi, crab Rangoons, and pineapple fried rice off the menu. All three were excellent, and my pineapple fried rice came served inside half of the hollowed out pineapple. Such a nice touch I have never previously seen. Given the two main hibachi choices in Shelton, I would say Wild Kanji is the obvious choice!
Definitely a fun, easy-going experience. For my first time having hibachi, I was relaxed and entertained. While the food isn't blow your socks off good, it's still very fresh and delicious. Well worth the price of admission. Generous portions, friendly staff, clean restaurant, quality food and talented chefs.
Baingan Indian Cuisine
I went to this place on Memorial Day weekend, when I entered surprisingly there are no customers in big seating restaurant. I want to sit back side open area with river side view. This place is really highlight for this restaurant, Unfortunately that is the only thing I liked in this restaurant. The food I ordered is butter chicken and garlic roti, mango lassi. Chicken is quoted with red color and it’s hard chew. Garlic rotis are good. I don’t know why it’s really hard to drink lassi. I left most of the stuff on table, didn’t feel to take it in box. Overall thumbs down 👎
it’s really good to have lunch or meal before evening at this place for scenic view. foods are average but i like this place for views , it attracts me and feeling urge to go again
The Original Vazzy's
Everything about Vazzys is amazing. I just dined here on 12/15 and each time is just as good as the last. You can really appreciate their consistency over the years. There is a bar area which is fun and easy to just come in for a drink. There is also the dining side that has families enjoying well sized meals. The drinks are delicious. Everything on menu very good.
We have been ordering the chicken cordon bleu (among other things) from the catering menu for family gatherings over the years. Everyone looks forward to it. It is consistently delicious and made perfectly each time. If no one was watching, we would lick our plates!! Our catering orders are always correct, ready on time, and I find the prices to be compatible with other area restaurants, so no need to go anywhere else. Thank you, Vazzy's!
EcuaSalvador Fast Food
Just had a pupusa from this food truck, and it's hands down the best thing I've ever tasted! 🌮🤤 Bursting with flavor and authenticity. Highly recommend trying it – your taste buds will thank you! 👌 #Foodie #PupusaPerfection
Wonderful food, service and friendly staff! 😋
Spotted Horse Tavern Shelton, Ct.
I don’t know why I haven’t eaten here earlier. Maybe because not all of the lights in the sign worked, so it had me concerned about the inside. I finally bit the bullet after realizing they have a Westport spot too (and we typically enjoy of dining choices in Westport). My wife loved the Dragon Bowl with Crispy Chicken, and I enjoyed the Rueben Meets Rachel (I didn’t want to just get a burger). Where the world has gotten used to $15 chicken sandwiches with no fries, it was nice to see that their sandwiches included sides. I left full, and nowadays that isn’t always the case in this economy. I would definitely come again.
The food was delicious and the service was great! Ordered the nacho special as an appetizer and the toppings were very generous. Food came out quick. I got the street corn blackened tacos, which were delicious, but not what I was expecting. Street corn usually consists of creamy mayo sauce and topped with chili powder, cheese and lime, while these were just corn salsa. My boyfriend enjoyed his steak frites. I really loved their dessert options and the s’mores lava cake was INCREDIBLE. Definently recommend.
