Great Fortune

57reviews

Since the new owner took over the food is average. The pork fried rice had little pork and vegetable fried rice little vegetables along with no seasoning. Also, there prices keep going up every month. The pork fried dumplings, chicken fingers, chicken with broccoli in garlic sauce are at least tasty.

Never ordered from here before and wanted to try a new place. The food was excellent! I had the most fantastic Spicy Eggplant I've ever tasted! The Chow Mein and General Tso's Chicken was so good! We will definitely order again. That eggplant will be included in all future orders!!

Peking Tokyo

Not fancy but clean. Food is delicious. We had crab Rangoons, beef teriyaki, chicken w broccoli, boneless ribs, and shrimp w lobster sauce. Prices were reasonable. We will be back.

Delicious takeout! Friendly service. Food was ready so quickly and arrived home piping hot. Tempura was crispy and the ginger in the dumplings was so good!

Good Old Days Pizza & Cocktail Den

225reviews

Such a cool place! I ordered the French Onion pie, which was very good! All their pizzas are pan pizzas, which I absolutely love (don't get me wrong, NH-style is great but not superior to any other pizza style). I had a chance to talk to the pizza guys, who were very kind and fielded a bunch of my weird questions about their ovens, prep, etc. The atmosphere was really cool - a neat place to hangout with friends. It has the same kind of dark cozy atmosphere as the Dew Drop Inn in Derby, if you're familiar. Highly recomended!!

Been back here a few times and it is AWESOME! Because - they have Sicilian style (square, thick crust) and crunchy, which is uncommon. I grew up in NYC and while you could certainly find this style, it typically did not have crispy crust. The toppings and flavors are delicious. In the photo, you will see their really cool ricotta kisses - a treat for the eyes and palate. Their cocktail program is among the best we've encountered. There are few places that combine outstanding pizza with killer mixology - G.O.D. does the spirit world justice! One of the photos shows the G.O.D.s mai tai 3.0 - cachaca & mezcal - are you kidding?! Desert - House-made choco-taco, dipped in dark chocolate. Oh yeah! The only comment I have for the owners: Friday night, there was a duet playing which is a great add to an evening but the din was deafening! The place was packed and with the music, it was impossible to carry on a conversation. The acoustics are hard - below grade with plenty of hard, reflective surfaces. Would be even more awesome with some absorption/diffuser panels tacked up.

Thai Mi Noodle

Cute restaurant, good food- home cooked feeling. Portions were large. Pho was delicious.

Got pad Thai and chicken dumplings and everything was soooo delicious. The dumplings weren’t even greasy like so many other places are. Satisfying food that doesn’t leave you feeling yucky afterwards.

Tamarind Fine Indian Dining

Tamarind is my go to place for every celebration. Be it birthday, anniversary or any special occasion. The food is just superlatively delicious. The ambience is always warm and welcoming. Jenny serves food with her whole heart and she is super friendly. Chef Tashi’s almost all dishes are just mouthwatering. Some of my favourite dishes are Chicken Hakka Noddles, Jhol Momo, Chethinnad Chicken, Samosa Chat, Chicken Biriyani and Tandoori Shirmp. You must visit Tamarind for an experience and flavoursome food. By, The Seafood Queen

Good food and efficient service. Lasoni Gobi was amazing. Biriyani is the best I have ever had in a very long time. Shrimp Moilee was a letdown, but it tasted ok. Rajasthani Laal Maas was very good. In the menu, it mentions its spicy, but it's not as spicy as I expected it to be. I understand they are appealing to all the customers, so it makes sense. Overall good experience I would return every time just to get the Biryani over and over again 😁

Honeyspot Pizza 5

I loved the Greek salad with the balsamic vinaigrette, it was very tasty and filling. The pizza was good, could have used some more cheese on it, but tasted fine. Nice, crispy crust and the broccoli was firm, not mushy. The service was not the fastest, I ordered my pizza and salad and had to wait about 30 minutes, and it was not busy at the restaurant at all. The cashier was pleasant enough. The atmosphere of the restaurant… well, there is none. A bunch of small tables lined up against both sides of the walls. No decor, very bare bones. Even Panera Bread restaurants are better decorated than this😐 Fair prices for the quality of the food. I wouldn’t seek this place out to come back again, but if I happened to pass by it and was feeling hungry, I would probably stop by.

Pretty excited for this find, because the pizza was delicious. Cherry pepper, bacon and fresh garlic pizza; so good. The bacon was crumbly, the garlic was well minced and the cherry peppers were perfect. We also ordered jalepeño poppers, which were very good but could have used some salt. The only complaint from my fiancé was regarding the chicken parm grinder. He felt it needed a little more flavor, but was pleased with it overall. We are thrilled to become their newest patrons.

Kolam

319reviews

I recently attended a friend's daughter's first birthday party at Kolam restaurant, and I was thoroughly impressed. The food was absolutely delicious, offering a variety of authentic Indian dishes that were full of flavor. The drinks were equally delightful, especially the selection of Indian beverages. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a celebration. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring everyone had a great experience. Highly recommend Kolam for anyone looking for excellent food and a wonderful dining experience

My husband and I used to love this place until we ordered takeout last night and not only was there a thin 2” bone in my butter chicken, but also a rodent foot!!! Absolutely repulsive. After calling, the restaurant refunded just the one dish, even though all the food went in the trash after that. The email response I received from management was hardly an apology and they chalked it up to having just hired “a new kitchen worker.” As if that makes it okay to serve rodent parts in your food?!? I hope the health department checks the conditions of their kitchen and that neither I, nor anyone else, gets sick. Suffice it to say, we will never order from/ dine here again.

Market Place Kitchen & Bar - Newtown

I ordered the mussels as my entrée instead of an app and it was delicious ! The sauce was so delicate and the mussels were perfectly cooked. Some had that sandy grit but overall were delightful! My friend ordered the Kobe Burger and it was very good too! We came here spontaneously and it was great ! The place was beautifully decorated and Karen, our server, was lovely!

A great classic American lunch spot. We definitely ordered too much food but they were so accommodating when we had to cancel some items when we got too full. Cute little booths and recently priced. The staff are really lovely too

Chinatown Shelton

86reviews

This was one of my favorite Chinese places for a long time but the last time we had it the taste and quality went down significantly. One of our dishes didn’t come with its sauce, pork fired rice had fat chunks inside, chicken & broccoli had zero flavor and the crab raccoons only had cream cheese couldn’t find any crab.

I've lived in shelton for 20 years now and I've been coming here since they moved to shelton and never had a bad meal

Sal E Pepe Contemporary Italian Bistro

428reviews

It is a lovely, peaceful dining room. The service is always excellent, efficient, friendly, on point (especially Shannon). The food is always well prepared and there are always many good choices.

Restaurant is located in a strip mall in Newtown, CT. Our party of 9 people enjoyed the food and beverages with no notable complaints. The salad was super fresh and excellent. Food plating was pedestrian and the portions were modest. Service was excellent but the restaurant was eerily empty, even for a Wednesday evening. Seating was comfortable and uncrowded. The restaurant is divided into two sections with one section for large groups and the other with smaller tables and the bar. The sirloin tips and lasagna were excellent, but overall, I would not go out of my way to dine here since there are some many other options.

India Raj Restaurant

Our first experience was dining in on a Saturday night. The food was good and the service was excellent. Naan and the long list of dishes provided plenty of choice. I ordered medium heat and it was a bit too spicy for me, so next time I will order milder. If you like spicy they can provide! Unfortunately they don't appear to have a beer/wine or Liquor license. The restaurant was empty except for us which surprised me, The atmosphere is dated, especially in the booth we were seated, which may explain why. We did see a number of take out orders picking up. My suggestion to owners is to update the inside a bit and perhaps you will gain more dine-in customers.

The spices are bold, and the naan steals the show. The curries hit all the right notes, though the decor feels more ‘takeout chic’ than fine dining. Service is friendly but not speedy—worth the wait if you’re craving a flavorful feast!

Taste Of Joy

Tasty food, lunch special for $6

Very unappetizing and disappointing. I gave them a shot based on the seemingly good reviews but The food is bland and dry and honestly gross. The Lo Mein is bone dry and no flavor. the chicken is weird and mushy and wet and no flavor. Wouldn’t recommend
