Negritas Restaurant
Amazing food, nice calm atmosphere. Great place for a quick family lunch! The food was amazing 10/10 everything tasted freshly made. Drove from another city just to try this place and it was worth the drive!
Delicious homemade Spanish food, fresh & hot 20 years and counting! Gracias Mr Carlos, Familia and friends.
Gohan Japanese Cuisine
Gohan Sushi is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, but what really set this place apart was the incredible service. Our waitress was not only kind but also extremely knowledgeable about the sushi and the quality of the fish. She explained how the restaurant sources different fish from various regions depending on the time of year—right now, their tuna comes from Mexico because the water is too cold elsewhere, while other selections are flown in overnight from Japan, where the water temperature enhances the sweetness and overall quality of the fish. The attention to detail and commitment to fresh, high-quality ingredients were beyond impressive. Every bite was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and the experience felt like something you’d expect at a high-end sushi bar—except at a fraction of the price. Honestly, I would have gladly paid way more for what we had. You truly can’t beat the value for the quality you’re getting here. If you’re a sushi lover, this spot is a must-visit. Easily the best in CT.
It was my first time visiting Gohan, and it definitely will not be my last. I have walked by this place at least 100 times going next door to my favorite protein shake spot and never once thought about giving this place a try. From the outside, it looks very plain. Shades are drawn, and you can not see inside. The inside is very small but quaint. Our server was very polite, attentive and knowledgeable. Being a Chef, It was interesting to hear about the quality of the fish they use and everything they import to make it an authentic experience. The sushi was so fresh. It was honestly incredible. I have dined at sushi places near and far, and Gohan is hands down the best I've ever had. You can really tell they pride themselves on the quality of their product, and they have a passion for food.
Pho King Spot
Well what a Treat! After perusing so many restaurants at Parkville market, I finally parked my feet in front of Pho King Spot. What a great decision, and a truly genuine Vietnamese food experience. I ordered the crispy spring rolls to start. Then, decided on the oxtail soup as a main course, and was absolutely delighted. The spring rolls were light and flaky, and had the all-important fish sauce for dipping. The oxtail soup was an amazing blend of noodles, the thick rich broth and a beastly hunk of oxtail. The meat had all the signatures of the best Vietnamese meat stew. Absolutely succulent! Once you've gone around the culinary wheel at Parkville market a few times , and see the Vietnamese cubbyhole, you will know you've landed at one of the best establishments in Hartford. Walk on over to King Pho Spot.....and enjoy!
I came here craving pho. I got the Oxtail & Beef Pho. And it did not disappoint. They make their pho from scratch so you can taste the high quality in the broth. They also add the perfect amount of vegetables to the pho. It was about $19.50 for a bowl. The people working were so sweet and helpful when I was deciding what to choose. They give a generous amount of oxtail meat so if you’re really hungry I’d recommend that option 10/10 experience
Blue Elephant Trail
We had a delicious Sunday lunch at Blue Elephant Trail, a family-run Thai-Cambodian restaurant that is our stopping point between Boston and the NYC area. We had curry puffs, beef and chicken satay, hot chicken wings with crispy fried basil, and creamy Tom Kha soup. For mains we enjoyed duck curry, Thai basil curry and mango chicken curry (we were planning for leftovers). For dessert we shared an exquisite mango sticky rice. Our family will be back for the enticing menu, generous portions, and warm service. This restaurant is a gem off I-95!
My wife and I came here today. The food was very good. Green tea a little bland. Everything we had was packed with flavor, from the spring rolls to the soup, and main dishes, BET Rice, Drunken Noodles with chicken, and Thai Basil Chicken. We will be back! Have been back three more times. Dine in and take out. Lunch and dinner. Have enjoyed every meal down to the last bite!! Overall, I am very pleased with the quality of food, ambiance, and staff. Highly recommended.
Tokyo Sushi III
The food is tasty, we tried 2 rolls and the teriyaki. While the rolls were good the teriyaki were amazing! The price is really fair. The waitress needs some help, she was serving all the tables by herself and the place was almost full... last time I ordered the same plus King crab roll sushi.
The red hair lady is so nice and so kind and I appreciate her service food was good and served fast thank you guys .
Kaliubon Ramen & Sushi (West Hartford)
Food was good, though I’d order some add ons next time as it felt a little lacking. Broth was superb. Service - waitress had zero personality but maybe was having a bad night? When seeing all the other servers happy and helpful it was a sad turn off. The lighting in the back room is very harsh for those with light sensitivities. Small but organized seating inside. Food came out hot and fast. Not disappointed but not impressed. 3/5
As a ramen lover that’s been to ramen joints across several countries, this place is top notch. The beef ramen had perfectly seared braised beef slices and such a rich, flavorful beef broth, along with fresh vegetables that contributed to the complexity of flavors. The shrimp in the shrimp bao was lightly breaded and fried to perfection, and the beef egg rolls were packed with flavor. Aside from the food, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It always helps having servers that are knowledgeable about menu items when dealing with diet restrictions and food allergies. This place is a 10/10, would highly recommend to any ramen fan!
Sweet Chilli
This was my third time visiting this Thai place. I think it’s a very good place if you like spicy food because they can make really good spicy food . However i had gone before covid and it was a well kept restaurant but on going yesterday it didn’t look so welcoming and also the plates that were served were very worn out. I think most of their business maybe with takeouts . There were not many servers and all as well. Just the family running the business. Sweet chili sample-5/5 Crispy crab curry-4/5 Drunken noodles-4/5 Red chicken curry-5/5 bcz of the spice level Service is fast, food is good. And they do check your bill as they do apply 12% service charge additionally when you dine in.
Indulging in the green papaya salad with seafood at this charming Thai restaurant in West Hartford was a delightful culinary experience. The dish showcased a perfect balance of flavors and textures, with the crispness of green papaya melding seamlessly with the freshness of assorted seafood. The salad's vibrant colors mirrored its lively taste, as the tangy dressing elevated the dish, providing a zesty kick that awakened the taste buds. The seafood, a medley of shrimp and squid, was impeccably cooked, tender and succulent, complementing the crunchy papaya strands. Each bite offered a symphony of tastes, from the umami richness of the seafood to the slight heat from finely chopped Thai chili. The cozy ambiance of the restaurant enhanced the overall enjoyment of the meal, creating a welcoming atmosphere that made the dining experience memorable. The attentive staff and prompt service added to the positive impression. In summary, the green papaya salad with seafood at this West Hartford Thai gem is a culinary masterpiece, combining fresh ingredients, skillful preparation, and a cozy ambiance for an unforgettable dining experience.
Ichiban Japanese & Korean
We love going during lunch hours because we get the bento boxes that come with an entree, two fried dumplings, California roll, Japchae and white rice. The variety is great. The kalbi short ribs were soooooo good and grilled perfection. The banchan side dishes are amazing too as they accompany each meal. The jam pong (spicy udon seafood soup) was so delicious. The complexity of flavors were outstanding. There was squid, clam, mussels, fish cake, crab and shrimp in there. All the seafood was very fresh! Broth was thick and perfect amount of spice! The Don noodles were cooked to perfection and held together nicely while absorbing the delicious broth. Our meals came with hot tea and/or ice water. Service was fast and impeccable. Everyone at Ichiban is so nice, especially the owner. We can't wait to go back!
This is my favorite restaurant. I’ve been eating here over 12 years. They’ve been around over 25 years. They service excellent side dishes and their customer service awesome. Friendly workers and very inviting atmosphere. Foods are very authentic with good presentation. I go there regularly once or twice a week.
First Wok
I had an absolutely horrible experience at this place. I ordered chicken wings with white rice and steamed dumplings, and not only was I overcharged, but the food was also inedible. The chicken wings were dry and tasted like they had been sitting out for hours, the rice was stale, and the steamed dumplings smelled and tasted rotten. Avoid this place at all cost !!!
Oh man, this place is bomb! It’s a small mom and pop restaurant. The portions are huge. Ordered the curry chicken with rice and chicken finger only for a total of $15. Highly recommend💯
I Love Sushi
It was the best sushi I’ve ever had and it is a small family owned business. I felt super welcome the entire time and they were very polite. I highly recommend this place, it is very very delicious.
Went in for lunch for the first time and was not disappointed at all. All my rolls were good and were out quickly. Very affordable, overall a nice clean small place. :)

Sabaidee Thai Restaurant
I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this place. The service? Outstanding. Thai atmosphere? Typical but cozy. On to the food… As a seasoned Thai food partaker I usually start any first new Thai restaraunt visit with basil fried rice.-either shrimp chicken or pork. Anyone should do this. If you can cook this basic staple well you’ll know the chef is from Thailand and has skills only you can request. Hitting the charmed notes, I’m in for a QUICK revisit to try what I really want. the portion was huge. The flavor was good. I’d recommend it. It’s above standard Thai food with excellent service and great portion size. If you took your family here, I would say sounds like it’s gonna be a great night
Beautiful atmosphere, delicious food and great prices! We’ve come here three times in the past 2 weeks. Quickly became a new favorite. I’ve had a different dish every time and they’ve all been incredible!
