Double Dragon
I'm going to be honest. I thought I was going to a place where I could street fight, like in the game. This was not the case. 𫤠However, the food was good. That's why I gave it four stars. But if you're looking for a place to street fight, I would go somewhere else.
I used to think reviews didn't matter! However, they do. I would always get on my wife when she refused to go places or buy things with bad reviews. I always wanted to give places or things a chance. And in doing so, I just wasted 15$. This isn't a knock on Double Dragon 9 because the reviews stated a 3.9, so it's my fault. It's giving credit to Double Dragon! This place should and deserve to be 5***** restaurant. Best Chinese spot in the Ville hands down.
China 1
Got my sweet sour chicken lunch and crab Rangoon delivered. Hot and crispy. I
We eat a lot of Chinese food. I'll be comparing this place to some others. It was our first time eating here today, 4/2/24. We did carry out. 1st, The Spring Rolls, simply put - they were absolutely horrible. 2nd, The Chicken Chow Mein - nice julienne sliced vegetables, mostly onions and celery, a decent sauce - was a 3 out of 5, and there was less than a tablespoon of chicken in the entire dish. 3rd, The Scallops & Broccoli, in garlic sauce was tasty, way too much of the sauce, maybe 6 scallops, penny size. The Won Ton soup was decent, better than average. The Hot & Sour soup was just okay. The quality of the food was at best a 2.5... The atmosphere is at best a 1. don't know how the fish in the fish tank are still living. anybody that gives atmosphere more than a one is out of touch or must live in a dumpster. We tried eating in St. Matthews thinking we would get a better quality considering the image the city wants to present. We will be trying Chinese food off Hubbard's Lane in the Kroger center this next week. So far, our favorite in this area is Oriental Cafe in Hikes Point... We live in the middle of all three and wanted to give the three of them a try and comparison. Three hours later my son and I have both spent excessive time in the bathroom... for what that's worth...šµāš«
Great Wall Chinese Restaurant
Found this establishment on Google Maps since we were from out of state. The food was really solid and definitely gave a lot of meat than rice (especially for the house fried rice), which was awesome! It seems that the establishment has customers pay over the phone when you place an order through them rather than at the restaurant. The staff wasn't too friendly, and it felt like being rushed when ordering via phone, so my brother went directly to the restaurant to order the food.
came in with some friends about 30 minuets before close and the guy at the register was super kind and welcoming and let us eat without rushing when it was getting close to close. also the food was super fresh and tasted amazing. the guy at the register also gave my friend a free tea because he was super cold
China One
If you're looking for dinner that's fast and fresh this is the place. Generous portions at a great price and Tosha is always very friendly and courteous. I highly recommend.
This is a to go only restaurant, no dining in. The employees are very friendly and keep it clean. Fast service. They usually have me out in about ten minutes. I ordered the pork lo mein lunch combo. The food was ok. It needed more seasoning.l
China Star
everything was amazing! i tried the shrimp w mixed vegetables, egg roll, wonton soup, & crab rangoon. the shrimp seemed a tad over cooked/soft but still tasted good. they have big portions too and serve the rice in a separate container.
Fresh, spicy and delicious! Just what I ordered and I was several minutes late and food was still hot. Really really good lo mein ! A hidden gem ā¤ļø
Max Orient
First time trying this establishment and thought it would be pretty good as the line was from the start to the end of the food court aisle. I ordered the bourbon chicken and fried rice. The meal started out pretty good, rice was bland but fresh as was the chicken. As I finished a small portion of the chicken at the bottom of my container there was something white which I initially assumed was egg whites from the rice. As I picked it up I noticed it was a small piece of already chewed gum. Disgusted and immediately sick to my stomach I spit everything I had just eaten into a napkin. Returned to the register and requested to speak with the manager in which an older gentleman approached and I explained to him what was found in my meal and he examined it and asked well what can I do for you? I said well, I can't eat it. He asked if I wanted my money back in which I agreed of course. There was not even an apology, and even the look of anger that he had to return my money. Well sir, think of how I felt knowing I had just eaten chicken with someone's gum and saliva soaking in the same sauce. I will NEVER eat here again, and will caution any and everyone to check their food from here and any establishment thoroughly.
This place will probably outlast the apocalypse. Jefferson Mall would not still be in operation if not for this establishment. There is almost always a line of people. Even with their prices rising over the years, it's still a better deal quantity wise than any fast food around the area. The only negative is that it's in the food court, so you never know the number of people that will be around.
China Express
The food was great very fresh and delicious. The service was amazing lady at the front desk was very friendly, the atmosphere is very nice great place to sit down and eat for lunch or an outing.
Eww. I just moved here and seen the reviews so I decided to try it. There was a short black hair in my chicken lo mein. Chicken curry was nothing but onion. General tso chicken was not really good. But after finding the hair we can no longer eat. Will never come back here again.
Chung King Palace
Nice little Chinese restaurant downtown. Their food is great and the employees are friendly. They usually have your order ready in ten minutes or less. They keep it clean. My favorite Chinese restaurant downtown. The pork fried rice I ordered there today was delicious.
While the location is a little strange and out of the way, it is worth a visit if you like American Chinese food. While the decor is dated, it feels like a Chinese restaurant and the staff are good. The crab rangoons were sweet, which I found a little off-putting but did have actual meat in them, which I liked. The lemon chicken was good, Overall, a worthwhile experience. 4.5 rounded up to 5 for Google.
Sichuan House
Amazing food! They have an extensive menu with Sichuan cuisine and classic American-Chinese favorites. I had the orange chicken and my wife had the pork in garlic sauce. Both were fantastic. We also had the dumplings with chili oil, which was also really tasty. The service was fast and friendly. Very clean and inviting space.
We stopped in for lunch and we were pleasantly surprised at this restaurant. The small building is tucked between a strip mall and a vet office. The inside is tastefully done and very clean! "A' rating from the health dept. These folks serve authentic Sichuan dishes and "American" Chinese food so there is something for everyone. The Sichuan dishes have the heat/spicy of the region. Also a variety of meats and vegetables. The server and owner were very helpful describing dishes. If you are up for something besides the typical Chinese food try Sichuan House!
Asian Pot
Best Egg Drop Soup I have had in a decade! Best comfort food when sick. Everything in our order was perfect. We had it delivered, our order was well packaged and still hot.
We have dined at countless Asian restaurants and have high standards for Chinese cuisine. Everything here is amazing and it really shocked me. The flavors are also excellent.
Double Dragon II
We had to pay $14 for ramen that turned out to be just regular noodles, and the taste was absolutely terrible. When we complained, the cashier insisted it was ramen, but it was very clear that it was just regular noodles. I also ordered a spicy shoyu ramen for $10, and even that wasnāt spicy. I had to ask the cashier, and only then did they give me the spice separately. Iāve eaten ramen at many other restaurants, but this is the first time Iāve encountered such an odd version. It tasted like simple miso soup, which usually costs only $4, with regular noodles and some pork added, but I had to pay $14āmore than the shoyu ramen, which actually used proper ramen noodles. This was extremely disappointing, and I will not return to this restaurant.
I usually order a large plain lo mein for $7.50 and egg rolls for $2.35 and I also sometimes buy the $7.50 fried dumplings. So I know my total is usually the same. Less than $20-$21. And I ordered my routine and I was given a higher total but I picked up the menu and assumed the prices went up. I get into the car and search my bag and Iām missing food. I was given the huge family size lo mein for $10.50 and my egg roll was missing. My total was over $24 when itās usually $19-$20. I donāt get how $22.65 leads to $24 and a lot of change but the cashier was slay and didnāt give me a receipt. I can assume there was an error or that the cashier thought I said āfamily sizeā and not a large. But the missing egg roll, the high taxes and the fact that he didnāt give me a receipt after I ordered and after I picked up food is a red flag. The food isnāt bad at all though itās not the best Chinese food or fried rice and seasame chicken. The noodles, veggie egg rolls and veggie dumplings are good. ALWAYS get a receipt and I had to go back in and ask for a missing egg roll.

Food was quick. Parking was easy. The price was good. The food is so-so. I did enjoy that the orange chicken sauce was very "orangey". The lo mien needed a lot of soy sauce and the chicken was okay quality. Decent for price, but nothing amazing.
Nice little eating spot. Clean, good food. Crab ragoons are awesome. Highly recommend
