Happy Dragon
Today 03/18/25 for lunch around 2pm i ordered take out at the counter. 2 moo goo gai pan combo's, I've eaten here several times with no issues but today i had a piece of hook shaped metal half way through my meal i felt it on my tongue, i figured it was probably from opening a can but didn't finish it just incase. Employees please watch for this as if you were eating the meal.
Came in to order for a large family, asked for individual pints of stuff so we could all split it up, but this is the only Chinese takeout place in the world that don’t offer this. They refused which forces you to spend a ton of extra money and throw out a ton of extra rice. Will never come again and a loss of a regular visiting 11 person family
Dragon City (Formerly First Wok)
My food was NOT hot. It was cool spots mixed warm spots. The sauce was still congealed or gelled because it was colder. Spent $40! for dinner. Disappointed ORDERED AGAIN on 4/9 colder food spots and white rice is watery and mushy! BUT flavors are ok. Not satisfied with rice tasting like instant 1 minute rice mush cold
I have been going here for years. The last couple of times I have been the sauce from sweet and sour chicken has been ice cold. This last time I asked as I was picking up if they could heat up the sauce. I was told no, so I wont go back! What is sad as soon as I got home I got a pan out and heated up the sauce myself. Hope return business is what they don't want, because that is what they got.
China Dragon
Today, I decided to try China Dragon for lunch, a local spot for Chinese takeout in Louisville, KY. I ordered delivery, and the experience was fairly straightforward. The food had the right balance of sweet and spicy, although it leaned more toward the sweet side, which might not be everyone's preference but worked for me. The chicken pieces were crispy on the outside but tender inside, just the way I like it. The fried rice was flavorful, with a decent mix of veggies and egg, and not overly greasy. The egg rolls were crunchy and packed with vegetables, making for a satisfying bite. One small downside was the portion size of the chicken—it was good, but I would have liked a bit more meat for the price. Overall,
In the Southwest Louisville Area and needed some lunch. China Dragon did NOT DISAPPOINT!!! Wonderful Chinese food. 😊😊😊🤣
Double Dragon II
It’s been a couple of months since I last ordered food from here and I remembered enjoying the food so I ordered again tonight. I don’t know what happened but the food is terrible now. The chicken with mixed vegetables barely had any sauce but was slimy without much flavor. My partner’s bourbon chicken was dry and chewy and had way more vegetables than chicken. The cook is messing up and needs some help.
Food was very good, very tasty, not too salty, very good flavor. I called in my order but they were still working on it when I arrived, but I was just right across the street at KY Truck Plant, so I didn't have far to travel. The dumplings were very good and my husband enjoyed the noodles, it's the first time I've ordered noodles. Convenient location right around the corner from Kroger on Lagrange Rd. Everyone in the restaurant was very friendly and courteous.
Chong Garden
Got $50 worth of takeout. General Tsos chicken is cold, chewy, doesnt taste like General Tso. Its not spicy, breading is soggy. “Hibachi chicken and shrimp” looks like it came out of the microwave and has some clearish-brown mystery liquid on it. I ordered a Hong Kong roll. Its a tiny piece of tempura shrimp wrapped in about 2” solid of white rice, topped with spicy crab. $15 roll with about $0.50 cents worth of ingredients. The fried rice i had to pay extra for is not done all the way, and tastes nothing like fried rice Ive had anywhere else in my life. This place aint worth the effort it takes to open their door.
I used to eat here all the time... For the first time ever I bought my daughter Chinese food when I got mine. Luckily she stopped eating after a couple bites... I got food poisoning!!! I do not use soy sauce... The color of this chicken is literally how it came... Will never eat there again!!!
Red Sun
I pass by two Chinese takeout spots to come here. Food is flavorful, chicken is crispy, and the helpings are generous. They always include a free bag of doughnuts as well! I only wish their food a bit spicier.
This was my first time here ever. They feel extremely welcoming! The spicy mayo and the crab rangoon is the best I've ever had and I don't even usually like mayo! My partners got general tsos chicken and they give you WELL MORE than you paid for. Definitely coming back
Double Happy
Take-out only on Main Street in Louisville. $20 entrees but large portions. Tried the general Tao’s- overly sweet. The accompanying vegetables were raw, kinda just thrown in there. Decent chicken, but nothing special.
Had a great meal for take out yesterday. They were able to accommodate us being gluten and dairy free. The beef fried rice was very much a highlight as was the boba! Will definitely be returning to try out more of the menu. The boba specifically came very highly recommended from a lot of locals.
King Buffet
Me and my husband wanted to try this place, we normally go to Frankfort KY to our buffet and it's a 10 stars delicious. It was a lot of people and a lot of food and it look delicious but once you put it in your mouth it was salty and over cook. My best is the frog legs and when you over cook frog legs that's a disappointment for me. My egg drop soup was not what I was use to. My stomach hurt and I didn't even eat much
Food 7/10 Service 10/10 Atmosphere 10/10 Cleanliness 10/10 Place has a hibachi, which is pretty good. Kinda makes up some for not having more choices/ selection in the buffet. Overall it’s a decent place to it with out braking the bank lol but have definitely been to better ones :)
Oriental Star
Ordered black pepper chicken with noodles, chicken and broccoli combo, and crab rangoon. Over $36 for this little bit. Black pepper chicken- terrible. Never again. Was VERY sweet. Could feel the sugar granules on my tongue. Black pepper chicken should not be sweet at all. Chicken and broccoli- broccoli had many bad spots in it. Chicken was without flavor and tasted a bit off putting. Rice was dry and clumped together. Not good. Egg Roll(came with combo)- cabbage only. Very greasy. Grease needs cleaned. Crab Rangoon- my wife LOVES this recipe. Very sweet. Lots of onion. I give them a 3/5. Noodles- not terrible. Over cooked, very dark, some seasoning was there, no vegetables. NOTE: No fortune cookies, no sauces, they didn't ask. For $36 for only this is very expensive for the quality being produced. Will not return to this location.
Saw this place on maps so I dropped in. Definitely not a dine-in restaurant although you can eat here. It's more of an order for pick-up place. I had the shrimp lo-mein and dumplings. Both were very good. Worth the stop if you want Chinese for lunch or dinner.
August Moon Chinese Bistro
August Moon has been a family favorite of my Father & I at linnertime (a little after lunch, a lot before dinner;) for years!!! The food is always delicious—all time fav dishes, Shrimp Lomein, hot & sour soup. The restaurant, dining room & bar area are beautiful. And the staff — Yandi, Sebastian & Mimi are The Best! Thanks you all for so many years of delicious excellence and to many, many more 😊🙏🍀🐲🧧💫✨
First time visit, service and food was excellent. We also had a pot of oolong tea.
China 1
EXCELLENT FOOD AND SERIVCE!!! I am new to the city and so far this is my favorite restaurant near my work place. I usually go here on my half hour dinner break. My favorite is the hot and sour soup. It is very tasty. I just wish my break was longer so I can have more time to enjoy. The little girl working at the counter was sweet and friendly
This is my favorite Chinese restaurant here in Louisville. I usually order between $40-50 in food. Over $40 you get free crab ragoons. Everything we have ever tried has been delicious! I drive past a Chinese restaurant a few blocks away from my house to get food from here! They are also fast and very friendly!!! *Edited 11/14/2019 to add pictures. I added 9 pictures from our most recent purchase. I should have taken a picture of everything together so you could see how much food you get! This is still my favorite Chinese Restaurant here by far.
Chamling Kitchen & Bar
Came here all the way from Lexington to try authentic Nepali cuisine. We ordered jhol momo, C: momo and pork sukuti for the table and to go. The service was pretty quick and we were really pleased by the owner’s customer service. Will visit again. The pork sukuti was to die for. I added sukuti to my jhol momo and the result was phenomenal.
Stopped in for lunch one day since I drive by this place on the regular and never actually ate there. It's a very nice sit down restaurant even though they do take out too. The food was very good and the spice levels were just right. I do recommend ordering at the place or over the phone for take out because the online ordering menu is incorrect.
