Empire Szechuan
12/28/24 I have been going to this Restarunt for about maybe a year or 2 years so far. A Great wrestling friend of mine told me about this Restaurant and i decided to go with him to take a gander at this Chinese Restaurant. New York Style Cusine is the best in my book so far. The Prices are great and affordable that i can manage to purchase 2 lunch specials under $15 - 16 with taxes Included. You can also get a option of Soda and IF you want bottle water you ask IF you don't want the soda. Lunch Special Prices are around $7 - $8 a most, and Portion is in Rectangle plates which means more food :D. I order most times Chicken n Brocolli with White Rice and Boneless Spare Rib Tips with White Rice Lunch Special. I haven't order the Chicken Wings before... however my friend did and they are HUGE!!! Lots of rice and Huge Wings = HUGE Bonus!!! This store is amazing and serve the best Chinese Food in Downtown Orlando!!! Rating: 100000000000000 Star Rating!!!!!!!!!!
I order from here often, I am a vegetarian that does not eat eggs and this place is perfect. The food is really really good and the people are respectful. They make the food very quick, if you want a no fuss, simple good tasting Chinese experience. This is the place to go.
POKE BOWL & PHO AKA Asian elephant express
Nestled in The heart of the Insider collective eatery, which has a different taste for your desires, sits this place. Fresh ingredients, very flavorful. The only thing I would suggest is cut back on the mound of celery pieces used I thought it was avocado at first when I saw it Just scale back on that and you're good to go from pho, to hibachi to poke bowls. Give this place a try.
I love coming here for lunch to grab a to-go bowl of their combination pho. They package the broth, noodles, and topping separate, so you know from the start that they’re serious about quality. The broth and meat are always savory and delicious, and the vegetables are always crisp and refreshing.
China Garden Restaurant
My first experience was great. Egg rolls were top notch, Moo Shu Pork, Sesame chicken and Fried rice were excellent as well. Service was a little slow, but it was right before a Rockets game so they were packed. Service was understandable due to full dining room. Wanted dessert but was too full, dessert options seemed good though.
Great service! Very nice service! Environment is great! Wish the cheese puffs had more filling and less crust! But it was delicious!
Doozo's Dumplings & Noodles
Doozo's Dumpling and Noodle in McKinney St. Houston Texas is a great place to go for a light lunch. The dumplings are delicious, especially the spinach dumplings. The fried rolls and sweet and sour soup are also very good. I recently had the opportunity to have lunch at Doozo's with my friend. She had recommended the restaurant to me, saying that they had great spinach dumplings. I was not disappointed! The spinach dumplings were perfectly cooked, with a thin wrapper and a generous filling of spinach and other ingredients. They were served with a dipping sauce that was both flavorful and not too salty. I also tried the fried rolls and sweet and sour soup. The fried rolls were crispy and golden brown, with a delicious filling of ground pork and vegetables. The sweet and sour soup was tangy and refreshing, with a good balance of sweet and sour flavors. Overall, I had a great experience at Doozo's Dumpling and Noodle. The food was delicious, the service was friendly, and the prices were reasonable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a light lunch or a quick bite to eat.
I have no idea how the reviews of this place is so high….There are far better and more authentic dumpling places in downtown that have reasonable prices. I’m not coming back here. $12 for a bowl of flavorless broth and flour noodles. 10 dumplings for $10. This is highway robbery for expensive dumplings and terrible soup that’s FLAVORLESS (not event salt). The dumplings are NOT COOKED, tough, and FLAVORLESS. Even before putting on a sauce, steamed dumplings should have some tenderness and flavor that still taste good without sauce. Only bad dumplings rely 100% on the dipping sauce for flavor. The dipping sauces have way too much sugar in it. The extra spicy sauce isn’t even spicy. Tried the $12 BBQ pork fried rice is relatively tasteless. They literally plopped the pork on top of the fried rice like a side rather than mixing it in with the rice. The pork was also not very flavorful and didn’t taste fresh.
Baoz Dumplings
My first time here. I ordered the chicken vermicelli bowl and was not pleased. The chicken was brown all the way throughout, hard and not fresh. I was told it was soaked in soy sauce, however, it must have been soaking for a few days. Was not impressed.
We got takeout of the fried dumplings and wonton soup. The soup was very cozy and filling with sizeable wontons. The fried dumplings were absolutely delicious, especially with the sauce! Simple and sweet.
Rice Kitchen
Big fans! All good here is incredibly delicious! The sesame chicken is amazing and it has become me and my classmates' weekly essentials.
Absolutely amazing and the photo just doesn't do justice. Rice was well cooked , chicken was very flavorful and tasty!! (I got the crispy orange chicken) I ordered it not spicy, it still does have a kick to it but it still very delicious! I also got an egg roll that was very flavorful and you can't forget the rangoons♡ Absolutely amazing . And the delivery driver was amazing and so nice ! don't forget to Tip your drivers♡
Maru Sushi & Grill
Great food and wonderful ambiance. It is a bit on the pricy side but high quality sushi. They also have happy hour and some daily deals. My fave roll is the crouching tiger. My husband got the chef’s special roll and he said it was one of the best rolls he has ever had.
Went here for the first time for our anniversary and we had such an incredible experience! We sat at the chefs table, and chefs Ian and Kadeeja were so helpful, so personable, and absolute masters at their craft. I got the chefs special, and I can't speak highly enough about how they took my food allergies and preferences and made the best sushi roll I've had maybe ever. Thank you so much for making our anniversary feel so special!!
Mai Thai
My friends and I came in expecting the brunch vibe that we saw on social media but when we sat down we discovered brunch only happens on Saturday and Sunday. However I am so glad we stayed because the food was a 10/10. Our table had the fried calamari and spring rolls for appetizers. Pad See-Ew with scallops, Pineapple Fried Rice with chicken, and the Mai Thai Burger for entrees. We also ordered a Mai Thai and Lychee Martini from the specialty cocktail menu. The presentation was beautiful, there are no complaints about the food, and the service from the general manager Micheal was excellent.
This was my second visit to this restaurant, and unfortunately, the service was disappointing from the start. Upon arriving at our table, we noticed it was not set with utensils, which was an early sign of disorganization. We waited approximately 20 minutes before a waiter approached us, and when he did, he failed to introduce himself—an immediate red flag. He simply asked for our drink order, so we decided to place our food order at the same time, anticipating a lengthy wait. Our drinks arrived 15 minutes later, and our food was not served until 45 minutes after ordering. I had requested a lychee martini, but instead, I received a martini garnished with a blueberry. When I inquired about this with a staff member, she claimed that was how it was served but said she would check with the bar. Unfortunately, she never returned, and when I attempted to get her attention, she deliberately ignored me. Eventually, I informed our waiter that I wanted to exchange the incorrect drink for a lemon drop martini. By this time, everyone at the table had received their food and drinks except for me. Another concerning aspect was that although our meals were served, we still had not been provided with utensils. Our waiter finally brought them, but the delay was perplexing. I had ordered the avocado toast, which arrived 15 minutes after everyone else had finished their meals. At that point, I still had not received my lemon drop martini, requiring yet another reminder before it was finally served. We also had to request additional water, as the cups provided were quite small and had been emptied quickly. What stood out most was that other tables he was attending received prompt and attentive service, while ours was notably neglected. It was unclear whether the restaurant was experiencing staffing issues, but the experience was vastly different from our first visit in 2023, which had been much smoother. Additionally, there was an unexpected surcharge: meals that included eggs were charged an extra $1 per egg. For example, my avocado toast originally cost $22.95, but with the two eggs included, the total rose to $24.95. Considering the quality of the meal, I did not find it to be worth the price. I substituted eggs for sausage, yet the dish was still underwhelming. Overall, this experience was disappointing, and given the stark contrast from our first visit, I’m unsure if I would return.
Great Wall
A local and yummy spot to get food, it beats fast food just for the sheer amount you get. The food is pretty good for takeout, it seems very homemade and I’ve never had a bad experience when I order from here. The lady behind the counter is also so nice, every time we go she is so friendly and excited to see us. After going a few times, I can confidently say it’s a good spot to get a quick dinner and if you’re downtown and hungry I recommend trying it out. Great variety and yummy food, we still have a bunch of food leftover too for work lunches.
Take-out Cantonese and Szechuan food with varied menu offering. Food is average and ample portions. The street signage may be a bit grand vs the reality of the interior — not really a place for a sit-down meal. Low my Worcester take-out ranking.
Wok & Roll
This is a common lunch spot for employees working in downtown Houston who go to the tunnels system to grab a bite. It's exactly what you would expect from a small Chinese place catering to lunchtime crowds, i.e. generic, not overly flavorful food that still serves its purpose due to its location and price. It's very convenient to get to, and lunch combo specials provide a choice of various kinds of rice or lo mein, 1 or 2 meat entrees (selected from the entrees of the day such as bourbon chicken, General Tso chicken, sweet and sour chicken, pepper steak) as well as a side of either egg roll, green beans, or steamed vegetable (soup such as egg drop soup is available for an extra $1.50). This place won't win any culinary awards, but it's not trying to, and its patrons aren't expecting it to. If you want a quick bite that's close to several downtown offices without being overly worried about outstanding quality, this is a place to consider.
The atmosphere feels amazing and also has this "aesthetic" view inside. The food is what you expect, really good Chinese food and for a fair price. I do recommend this chain if you would like some good and quick food to go, especially to workers.
Wok & Roll
My order was extremely disappointing. I ordered two (2) orders ("meals") through Too Good to Go. Each order was to contain two entrees, two sides, and a drink. Due to very poor directions, I arrived at closing and only received one order and no drink. Evidently, my orders were not boxed and put to the side for pickup. The food was OK, but nothing I would go out of my way for. Directions need to be more explicit (stating entrance is in the tunnel, or kiosk is in the food court, and specify Main Street or McKinley). I will not waste my money on this place again.
The salt and pepper shrimp with the fried rice is incredibly seasoned with the right amount of spice. We also ordered orange chicken, jalapeño shrimp and shrimp fried rice. They are the real deal and food tastes authentic to their culture if you’re in the area please check them out. They didn’t disappoint at all.
China Ocean
Inexpensive Chinese food. If this is something you enjoy, China Ocean will not disappoint. Egg rolls are good, and their green beans were great. I had orange chicken, it was good. Service was fast and friendly. There's a lot of places to eat in the downtown underground, and this one is decent enough to eat at more than once. Not impressive enough for five stars, but it is good.
Came by super early before they even opened, they had a couple of items already ready to go. They were super good and fresh you can tell they were just made and not something re heated.
