Chin Xi'an Style Restaurant 秦张记
I’m glad my friends and I checked out this place. At first I thought it’s another typical Chinese restaurant that served beef and broccoli or hot and sour soup. No it is not! I was wrong. The foods here are amazing! I don’t have to spend an expensive international trip to taste this authentic food. I like their 12-hours Stewed Pork murger and unique spicy handmade noodle dishes. The lamb combo in the first photo is also worth a try. The staffs here are super friendly and fast service. They gave us some suggestions when we didn’t know what to order. We learned about the lamb combo from them. We will definitely come back here for more and to try different dishes from their menu. Oh and conveniently, they have a boba milk tea shop inside their restaurant. Perfect to go for a cold drink or dessert after eating all the spicy foods.
I had an amazing experience at the Xi'an Style Restaurant in Germantown, MD! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing meal. The food was absolutely fantastic—flavorful, fresh, and beautifully prepared. Every dish exceeded my expectations! The service was another highlight; the staff was not only friendly but also fun and inviting, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for delicious food and a great time!
Fast Wok
This place honors its name. It’s very FAST, your order is ready and accurate within 10 minutes even on Friday nights and weekends. I am giving 3 stars because their fried rice is very bland, it’s more like white rice with minimal veggies, soy sauce, or meat. Their chicken and soups are good.
This is actually one of the first Chinese spots my friends took me to when I first moved to Maryland. It’s 100% comfort food, some menu items are hit or miss, but the egg drop soup, friend rice, and spring rolls are always on point. Definitely worth the $!
Mandarin House Restaurant
Dined in. Excellent food. Huge portions on entrees makes slightly higher price worth it. Soup bowls are less expensive and smaller than normal, so priced fairly. Excellent vegetable spring rolls. Great service. Quiet peaceful music playing in background. Very nice art decorating the restaurant.
I went on a Thursday where early dinner time was pretty empty. But I could tell from the won ton soup it was gonna be good. They even have sui Mai. The won ton soup was flavorful and they don’t skimp out on scallions either. The meat inside tasted like a soup dumpling to me and the noodles were soft. Each of those small cups were $2 so I recommend getting multiple. Their fried rice was nice as it had the egg and carrots and peas, all the good things. Wasn’t hard but I wouldn’t say it was fluffy either. Pan fried dumplings were crispy and good! Their dumpling sauce was also really good and made in-house! I wish that store brand sauce could be as good. Lo mien was good, noodles kinda tasted like San Antonio, TX’s version but without the grease and oil. Not sure if it was the dumpling sauce but there was a quick slight aftertaste. It was different than the noodles themselves but it didn’t make it unbearable. Service was great! I was the only one in there at that time but I think they balanced the right amount of checking up and the waiter was really polite, making the whole experience memorable!
Asian Palace
This palace always has the best food and service. It’s tucked away from the busy road in a serene tranquil woodland. Nice place to come unwind and have really great Japanese cuisine.
We have been to Asian Palace several times and we've always enjoyed our visits. Since the pandemic, business seems to be off and on a Saturday evening at about 7:00 p.m., Asian Palace deserve to be a good deal more busy than it actually was. No problem getting a table right away at all. The Chinese entrees we ordered were plentiful tasty and reasonably priced. Service was super-prompt and solid. We did not get sushi on this visit and our overall bill was really quite reasonable particularly given the location. Somehow I believe that if Asian Palace were to relocate to some place with better foot traffic or a better Street front, they would be appreciably busier. Come and discover Asian Palace before they figure that out (Or, ald it would be tragic, before they close)
Mai Dragon / Mai Dim Sum
Mai Dragon is hands down one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area! We absolutely love everything they serve. This time, we tried the dim sum, roasted pork, sesame beef, and duck noodle soup—and it was all AMAZING! The broth in the soup was incredible, full of flavor, and the meat was perfectly cooked, not dry at all. The service was top-notch too; the staff was very attentive and worked hard to make our experience enjoyable. We highly recommend giving them a try—you'll love it just as much as we do! The food is authentic, the prices are reasonable, and we even had some delicious leftovers to take home. The atmosphere felt like a cozy family dining experience. We’ll definitely be back soon!
Overall, very pleased with this restaurant. When I first walked in I almost turned around to leave. The look inside was not screaming Great Chinese Food. The atmosphere was just of a large room with tables and chairs. It looked anything but Chinese. But I was hungry and decided to stay. Was I ever glad I did. I ordered the Egg Drop soup and Kung Pao Beef. Both were up there with the most delicious of these dishes I’ve ever had. The meat was so tender it cut with a fork like butter. And the flavors were extraordinary. I’m looking forward to coming back and trying their Dim Sum. Back to the atmosphere, I’m not big on spending lots of money on interior but this place definitely needs some help to make it warm, inviting and Chinese! One last thing, a pet peeve of mine, when they give you the check the suggested tip amounts are based on the food plus tax, though I’d give them the benefit of the doubt and guess they don’t know the machine is doing this… I just get the feeling they wouldn’t.
P.F. Chang's
Our visit was exceptional. This was our 1st time here. Didn't know what to expect. I don't eat much Chinese but my husband does. When our server Angie came to the table she was so recommending. The appetizers came out quickly & so did our dinners. Hot, delicious, not salty, and presented as pretty as it was pictured. Great portions. Angie made our 1st experience excellent. Will definitely be back to try more. All thumbs up.
We did a catering order in the day of for 15. It was spectacular! Everything was perfect, we got everything we needed, from serving utensils to chopsticks and plates and fortune cookies. The food was abundant and delish!! Honest I think 20 or more could eat! Highly recommend.
Peter Chang
We had a good dining experience here! The restaurant has a bright and clean atmosphere, and the servers were friendly. They quickly took care of any requests we had, which made the meal even more enjoyable. Our group of six ordered Peking duck, dim sum, and sweet and sour chicken, and everything was delicious. The sweet and sour chicken, in particular, stood out—the batter was light and crispy, the chicken was perfectly sized, and the sauce had an incredible depth of flavor, better than any other Chinese restaurant I've been to. The only thing I wouldn’t recommend is the duck soup that comes with the Peking duck—it had a strong duck aroma that might not be for everyone. Other than that, it was an amazing meal, and we had a great time! Would definitely come back.
If you’re searching for an ayce dim sum spot that is delivering all the hits and some… check out Peter Changs! The menu is extensive for an ayce menu and it does not disappoint! We ordered about 18 items and my favorite was the sad cold jelly, shrimp rolls, salt and pepper baby shrimp, sweet potato sesame buns and the grandma noodles. Amongst others but I will I was not a huge fan of the mala beef as the noodles were too soggy for me and the braised pork with rice as it was too sweet! The service was excellent! Our waiter was attentive and prompt to clear the table and take the next round of orders. The servers were also very prompt in ensuring the dishes made it to the right table and they definitely had their system down! The restaurant got packed quickly! A lot of larger groups and families filled the place! They also have an outdoor bar seating area which would be amazing for nice weather!
Shi miao dao noodle house
Excellent soup broth! Large portions with a lot of meat and fresh vegetables. Service is very kind and made terrific recommendations! The restaurant is clean, peaceful and comfortable. Plenty of seating for groups and room for children.
Really delicious and unique noodle dishes! I love the simplicity of cooking, eye-catching hot pot presentation, and great taste. I recommend anyone stop by and try an authentic meal from Yunnan, you'll love it 😋
Hunan Legend
They’ve nailed Mongolian Chicken! Perfect blend of sweet and spicy. And their tofu with mixed vegetables in brown sauce is quite tasty. Good sized portions. Get the lunch special and you get fried rice, crispy noodles and your choice of egg roll, spring roll, or soup. Comes with hot tea. Good amount of vegetarian choices - clearly marked on menu. Especially like their eggplant. Their veggie lomein is uninspired- but we order it because my grands like it a lot. Nice staff and good service. Good value. Locally owned.
Best Chinese food in the area, I order the same things everywhere I go. They have the best hot crispy beef and walnut shrimp of any Chinese place around here. Their dumplings are always fresher than the other spots and the cold sesame noodles are so good.
Hunan Manor
I used to come here regularly when I lived in the immediate area about a decade ago. It’s definitely not the same restaurant as in its hay day, but it’s still very good and worth a visit if you are in the area. It’s comfort Chinese food with a few authentic dishes.
I’ve been coming to hunan my whole life. It was the place I recommened all the time. Well I haven’t been in a couple years and decided to order last night and the food was awful. The fried rice was the worst fried rice I’ve ever eaten and the sesame shrimp was so bland I couldn’t even eat it. There was zero flavor to the food, not even salt. I tried to season the food myself but ended up throwing away $35 worth of food and getting taco bell instead. This restaurant use to be amazing and the go to place but now I won’t be returning. There are much better chinese restaurants in the area.
Blessings Carryout
My son found this place one day when we were looking for something different and decent to eat. Within the last two months, my son and I have eaten at Blessings Carryout more than a half a dozen times. I must say that I’m very picky about the food that I eat, but their food is delicious. It’s not far from John Hopkins hospital and right across the street from North East market place… They have a great lunch special menu. Today I got orange chicken with lo mein noodles, and shrimp egg foo yong with fried rice. My son and I shared both dishes and it was delicious as always. All for just $16.50.
Did not like the food at all. Prices are fair, though.
Yuen's Chinese Food Carryout
We came across town to check out the Chinese food here. It was ok. Would I come across town again for it, probably not. But he price was great: we got a beef yat gaw mein, shrimp fried rice, and shrimp egg foo yung for around $20. The area is sketchy, so stay vigilant. Tip: Call and order ahead so you can pick up and go. They are also a cash only business.
Short menu. They only serve what they good at. Always get shrimp fried Yak extra onion extra egg. Try something different tonight and got the beef and broccoli. Was still happy. Egg rolls always hit. Fried Chicken is expensive but it's fire.
