Tokyo & Beijing Sushi & BBQ & Chinese Cuisine
very great food! my husband and I came here for our 3rd anniversary. we didn't want to go out to far anywhere as we have work the next day. the place was clean the food was fresh and delicious! I will definitely be coming back here with the kids and friends the prices were good too I highly recommend!
Ordered the sashimi bento. $25 is pretty steep considering the quality of the fish. I had to bite and sort of grind my teeth through the fish slices, which was weird. Not very fresh. Felt sick to my stomach immediately after eating. Don’t think I’ll be returning!
Wah Sing Chinese Restaurant
I read the reviews on here and thought why not try it out and give an honest update on this place so here goes ... I placed an online order a very large one by the way this I find is the very best way to find out how good a place really is order was placed for pickup at 7:45 - 8:00 pm so I arrived at 7:30 pm to do a customer service view point the gentleman at the door was beyond nice always checking in with me letting me know my order was being prepared I let him know there was no rush and I knew I was early and had a large order the inside was very clean and nice just sad that they don't have more customers and figured its probably due to reviews niw i love Chinese food and this place had everything I loved when my order was ready I was surprised that he brought it out in a large box all organized that was super kind of them because I do not like when they throw everything in a bag and the sauce spills, the employee asked if I wanted any sauces and he gave me more than plenty for all my nummy food., all the food had very good flavor and all had their sauce nothing was dry or par of flavor 3 broccoli beef 3 orange chicken 4 chicken Chow mein 3 egg rolls 2 cheese wontons 2 chicken fried rice I am beyond pleased with this restaurant and staff they definitely deserve 10/5 stars from me I am very picky on my food and love all the dishes I ordered I will definitely be going back and recommending this place if you had a bad experience trust me there's always a bad day but not everyday is bad so go give them a try again. thank you wah sing restaurant for getting my order correct and for your kindness and delicious food which was my family's dinner
I picked up an order today and had ordered sweet and sour chicken among other things, but the sweet and sour chicken did not come with any sauce. I called and the guy who answered asked for me to come back and show him..! I’m home making my dish! Go back and show him? lol ok. I live 15 mins away and I was not going to do the drive out again.
Asian Express
Customer service here is always poor. Nasty attitudes and trying to rush you out the door, even when no one else is in there. They can't even smile at you or say have a good day back. This is my 3rd time and last time coming here. The gentleman in the photo, along with many of his coworkers have no customer service, everytime I go here. The food is alright. Idk when they switched who cooks what but some of the food doesn't taste the same as it used to. The meat is chewy, like it's pure fat. (Salt and pepper wings , BBQ ribs & the beef in the beef & broccoli) the rice tastes old and has no flavor, not to mention they put HUGE chunks of green onion in it, don't know if that's your thing but...definetly not mine. Not to mention horrible cleanliness, 2 weeks ago i came in here to get a plate and one of the ladies working there dropped some piece of food on the floor picked it up with her bare hand, grabbed a plate and then tried to serve me, I asked her if she was going to wash her hands and she said "for what" I said you just touched the ground, wdym, she rolls her eyes and turns to wash her hands, comes back and says "k, what do you want" I will be going elsewhere. $20 for a plate that I ended up trashing because all the meat I bought was fat, the rice was old and disgusting. And like i said the customer service is ALWAYS poor, so why would I spend my money here. Customers want to feel welcomed in your business not shood away. Save yourself the headache & the money and go somewhere else❤️
I love to come get food here, the price is very well in my budget and the portions you received are deliciously topoff, nice selection of food
King Palace
We had a great family dining experience at King Palace Chinese Cuisine. The food was delicious and authentic, with the steamed chicken being a standout dish. The service was prompt and friendly, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting, although please do need some designer touch. The prices were pretty affordable and the quality of the food made it worth it. I would definitely recommend King Palace for a satisfying Chinese meal.
Finally made it in to this place for lunch. We tried going once before but the wait for a table was so long we left. They are popular. The food at lunch (at least the two dishes we tried) seemed to explain their popularity. Our server recommended the kung pao chicken and spicy garlic chicken and both were great. Very flavorful. Good chance this place will bump up to 5 stars if we come in again and the food and service are consistent.
Imperial Delight
My wife and I were craving authentic Chinese food, not Panda Express Ana we wanted to experience the Chinese American food as we grew up with. To our pleasant surprise the service and food were excellent. Obviously the quality of food can be elevated but given the Special Dinner menu of $19.99 per person we hand more food than we can eat. The soup, appetizers, Teo main dishes and chicken chow mien were all for $40 plus tax. I loved the experience. Great spot for large groups to share variety of dishes. I’m hoping that they will continue to operate as the future development gets built and they will be there for ever. I can’t wait to take a large group of family and friends there soon.
3 sea food combo with rice and soup. Food is good and nice small businesses. they are open 3-5 and not close during that time like other food places. Service was very good and nice atmosphere. Server was nice to give me a soup on the house. Will come back.
China Paradise Restaurant
We Dine In and order Take Out from this restaurant and have for many years. Our favorites are Egg Rolls, Won Ton Soup, Sweet and Sour Pork, Broccoli Beef, Cashew Nut Chicken, Mu Shu Chicken, And Combination Chow Mein. The portions are large; we usually take some food home. Service is excellent. The restaurant is very clean and bright.
First time with family for take out. We had the orange chicken and kung po chicken lunch special. Pretty good value with fried won tons and soup. My son really liked the orange chicken l. I thought my kung po was ok. Great service. Would try again with other dishes.
Amazing Wok Chinese Cuisine
Very good, fresh, reasonably priced/portion dishes. Owners are kind and helpful. They serve halal chicken, beef, and lamb - cooked in a second kitchen area. It’s a calm, delicious spot!
My second time eating here. It is a smaller, more intimate restaurant, which I enjoyed. The food is delicious and not heavy greasy Chinese food. You can tell they care about the ingredients and food they make there. The people that work there are very friendly and the service is great. My new go to for Chinese when I am in the area.
Orient Express
Love it! So much food for the amount u pay, they Pile it on. Very generous and food is yummy. 2 item is like $12 for most items. I splurged on seafood(prawns) which is another $2+ more but still a steal of a deal! Definitely a togo spot, very old school and i dig the abundance vibe. Will be back for sure. 👍
It's really about a solid 3.5. The taste of the food is standard "fast Chinese food from the steam table" combined with fairly good price and portion size (value). Beats Panda Express at the very least. Overall, if this is what you're looking for, it can hit the spot. Four of us ate plenty of food for $40. The taste isn't going to blow anyone away (in a good way or a bad way) but everyone will probably be full and their wallet will be ok. Salted chicken was probably the best dish we got.
China Lounge Restaurant
Delicious Twice-Cooked Pork Belly & Great Service – Highly Recommended I had a fantastic meal at this restaurant, enjoying the twice-cooked pork belly, fried dumplings, and a Sapporo beer. The twice-cooked pork belly stood out as the highlight of the meal—the combination of crispy yet tender pork with vegetables added a great balance of texture and flavor. The slight crunch of the veggies paired perfectly with the soft, crispy pork belly. The fried dumplings were good, though not the best I’ve had. However, the dipping sauce was incredible, elevating the dish and making it much more enjoyable. Beyond the food, the service was excellent, adding to an overall great experience. The restaurant serves food family-style, meaning dishes are meant to be shared rather than each person having their own individual plate. It’s something to keep in mind when dining here, but it worked well for the meal. I’d highly recommend this place for anyone looking for flavorful Chinese cuisine, especially if you enjoy sharing dishes. I had a great time and would definitely return!
I was absolutely impressed by their authentic flavors and impeccable presentation. The boiling fish (沸騰魚) was a true delight—perfectly marinated, tender, and infused with just the right amount of spice. Every bite was bursting with flavor and warmth. The stir-fried pork (回鍋肉) was equally outstanding. The pork was succulent, paired with fresh, crisp vegetables, and cooked to perfection with a rich, savory sauce that complemented the dish beautifully. Not only was the food phenomenal, but the service and ambiance of the restaurant also made the experience memorable. If you’re in the San Ramon area and looking for a place to enjoy authentic, high-quality Chinese Sichuan cuisine, China Lounge is a must-visit. Highly recommended!
Dumpling 85
First visit for me with my friend to celebrate her bday. Sunday early dinner and easy to get a table. We ordered way too much for our appetite but it made for great leftovers! XLB, jajiang noodles, fried soup dumpling bun, beef roll and string beans. Easy to order on your phone, service was friendly and food came out fast. Would definitely visit to try more menu items!
My cousin and I heard this was a new place that popped up so we decided to try for lunch one day. The place itself is relatively small, but they’re working with every inch they’ve got. Everyone there was working very hard to put out the best product they could. We tried all the different types of dumplings offered and every single one of them was delicious! Dumpling 85 will now be in the rotation whenever I’m in the area.
Wok of Flame 顺利饭店
The hot and sour soup was tasty. The food was fresh and the portions were good. We went during lunch time and were able to get lunch specials for the whole family, which were reasonably priced for the quantity of food you get. The server was friendly. My husband, myself, and 4 kids ranging from 11 years to 6 months all ate and were satisfied. I would recommend this place.
We're relatively new to Davis and have had many people recommended this restaurant. I'm rather particular about Chinese food (I have some Chinese in me and my grandfather was Chinese/Hawaiian and was an amazing cook). Wok of Flame won me and my boyfriend over for many reasons. We love the fact that they have traditional book style menus, the ambiance is great, the service is excellent and the food is so fresh and flavorful! We shared a plate of potsickers which were a nice size with crispy edges and the dipping sauce was divine. He had a bowl of Hot and Sour soup and I had a bowl of Egg Drop soup. They were both nice and hot and delicious. The only thing that was missing was white pepper, they don't offer it, and I believe that's the first Chinese restaurant I've been to that doesn't offer white pepper which is a staple for adding to soup. The Dynamite Beef was nice and crispy in a great sauce with crunchy veggies...a real delight. The vegetable chow mein was great as well. We both had iced teas (Oolong perhaps) and it was very refreshing. We will definitely be back, since Wok of Flame has now moved into #1 position of Chinese restaurants here in Davis... we'll bring our own white pepper...lol.
Tasty Gourmet
Update: they are adding to their dimsum menu. And I added a photo of the rib garlic sauce- one of the best items on their menu. _____ A solid Chinese food choice here in less known part in Davis. Nami sushi is a great place in this plaza as well. But this is one of my go-to's for quick Asian food. Prices have gone up, but the food and portions are still solid here. I like the string bean pork, the wonton noodle soup, and they have some great meat dishes. Their sesame and general chicken is amazing. But what I wanted to review on today was the roast duck which is ONLY available on Fri/Sat/Sun. It is AMAZING. You get a half duck for $25 and it is done to perfection. You can ask for less fat and oil, and they will try to accommodate, but my entire family loved the duck and this is a 5/5, and something I highly recommend if you enjoy roast duck. Besides that- they do very well with large orders- just make sure to give them a call ahead of time. Usually at lunch and busy, it isn't too busy so you can get a spot. The previous owner was the friendly o' lady from 'Hometown' inside the South Davis gas station. She has since retired in left the business to her relatives and friends. Tasty Gourmet survived Covid, so that says something! Be sure to swing by here to support local business, enjoy some good authentic Asian food, and try a roast duck while you are at it!
One the best and friendliest Chinese restaurants we've been to. The waitresses were so kind welcoming us in and serving our soups. They genuinely care about their customers and made us feel really comfortable. The food was perfect and designed like family style with sizeable portions. Thank you!
