Imperial Garden Chinese Restaurant
Overall Rating: 4.9/10 This dining venue offers a unique interior design but struggles with service and food execution, leaving room for improvement across various aspects of the dining experience. Atmosphere: The restaurant presents a unique layout with distinctive panda-themed tables that add character to the dine-in area. However, the front desk setup gives off more of a takeout vibe, which might confuse expectations for new visitors. Service: 3.4/10 Service appeared overwhelmed despite a manageable crowd, indicating possible issues with staff efficiency or organization. The delivery of food was delayed, and the complimentary wonton shells provided were stale and unappealing, detracting significantly from the dining experience. Food: Appetizers: 4.9/10 The appetizers were underwhelming, resembling the quality typically expected from takeout rather than dine-in. Nothing in the selection distinguished itself as particularly noteworthy. General Gau: 5.1/10 The dish was competently prepared with good quality chicken but lacked a standout element to elevate it above average. The chicken was not as crispy as desired, and the inclusion of only green peppers was uninspired. Although the flavor was bold, it did not surpass expectations. Pork Fried Rice: 5.9/10 A slightly above-average dish, it featured a generous mix of veggies and egg, enhancing the texture and flavor, though the pork itself lacked distinctiveness, blending too subtly into the background. Value: 5.7/10 At $51 before tax for three people, including leftovers to take home, the meal provided reasonable value for money given the overall quality and quantity of food served.
Came here for lunch. Ordered ribs (they are not boneless). They had no taste. Very bland. Very chewy. Also ordered chicken w/ broccoli. Broccoli was hard and chewy. Also very bland, no taste. The water with lemon was the best part of the meal.
Ni Asian Kitchen
Got the Thai chicken. Breading is a fickle beast in the world of Asian cuisine. They nailed it. The food is all so real, fresh and portioned well. Pricing is very palatable, staff is awesome and the food stellar. Killer lunch spot.
beware!!!!!!!! DO NOT EST HERE!!! 12/24/24-Christkas Eve Food is really bad!!! The orange beef tastes very orangey and not a subtle flavor. The texture is so bad! It’s like cubed steak in gravy. The chicken is fried and gooey, not crispy. Again, awful texture! I’d love a refund because this isn’t right. I called the restaurant and was hung up on by the person who answered. I shared my complaints about the inedible food and he said since it was two hours, the quality of the food has diminished. Forget the quality—the taste was awful! I’ve had Asian cuisine before that needed warming up, but that didn’t detract from the taste and quality. So, what does he mean by the quality wouldn’t be the same two hours later? He would not make it right. Half the money back would have been fine; I would have quickly taken back the food we can’t eat to prove it was not good. My daughter said, “the meat texture was so weird.” She is correct. The customer isn’t right here. Beware before you spend your hard earned money on garbage
Fu Kee Express
This is a take out only location. Must call ahead to order. There is a sign on the door. They offer traditional menu items. In my opinion the food was below average and not worth the cost. Noodles were dry and under seasoned. I did like the sweet and sour chicken they had a nice crunch to them and when dipped in red sauce wasn’t soggy, but I had to add seasoning to them tasted bland. The one worker was fantastic. I can tell he was the only one there managing phone, front end and cooking. That could be why the food was bland and noodles dry (could be old, or prepped way in advance) but he was very polite and working really hard. If it wasn’t for the food I’d give five stars just based off his performance.
Best Chinese in the Raleigh area! Reminds me of the Chinese food in the northeast. Both the food and owner are equally excellent in their own ways. I would maybe say it’s some of the best I’ve had in my life. The owner is personable and always makes it feel like you’re picking it up from his home. He does it all by himself. Always impressed
Shanghai Restaurant
Love this place! Sesame Tofu is so good and the general Tso chicken was so flavorful. This is me and mom’s go to spot. Best shrimp and scallop dumpling I’ve ever had. I grab them once a week usually for lunch at work. MUST TRY
This restaurant offers a fantastic lunch deal, providing a generous soup and entrée combo, along with your choice of water or tea, all for the very reasonable price of $10. The portions are incredibly satisfying, ensuring you won't leave hungry. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment for a delicious and affordable midday meal.
Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant
This spot serves up some of the best dim sum around—fresh, flavorful, and totally worth every cent. Lunchtime brings the classic dim sum cart experience, while dinner is order-only, which can mean a bit of a wait. But trust me, it’s worth it. The food is consistently excellent, and the service is friendly and efficient. A must-try if you’re a dim sum fan!
It might be a popular spot for others, but it’s not quite my style. I did enjoy the roasted duck and radish cakes though. The service could be better, so I’d suggest ordering ahead by phone and picking it up. I went for dinner and dined in. They didn’t have the dim sum carts, and it was super busy — you might need to wait a bit.
Chen's Chinese
Restaurants are just horrible these days and Chen Chinese has become one of those. Wire in my food.. almost swallowed it. Seems as if it was planted there..I literally had to pick around the meat on the chicken because it was so black. I mean all four! I will never return. Do yourself a favor and press the gas past this place!
lady there is extremely rude I think she is racist. looks like she is either living in the restaurant or jus very unkept. Never patronizing there again
Main Moon
This is the last time I order anything from Main Moon. The food took over 45 minutes, and was cooked so much that the flavor was gone, the texture of meat was ... Well makes you wonder. The attitudes were like they didn't half give a care. I didn't even get what I actually ordered but who's going to take it all the way back to town. The overall experience, was just pitiful! Never again! Ever!!
When you order house fried rice it should come with all the meats in a distributable fashion like it always has. And I’m talking about this specific restaurant which I’ve been coming to for years. This last order was 18 dollars and we barely had any substance other than the rice. Could have ordered a side of fried rice for a few bucks and got the same meal. Do better next time. You are one of the few Chinese restaurants left in Kinston and I remember when you guys were fantastic. But this was awful.
Golden China Buffet
Decided to spend Christmas here with my family and I got to tell you they did not disappoint. The food was amazing it’s been years since I’ve been and the mac & cheese is superb. I will definitely be coming back😊
I am a doordash driver and I was so impressed with the young woman working at the register tonight on 5/6. She was putting the WORK in, and was still managing to be sweet and cordial to all customers. It was super busy and people needed all sorts of things from her, and I never saw her get frustrated with any customers or fellow employees. Always a smile and a nice word. Bravo to her!!!
Jin Jin Chinese Restaurant
The rice was good but the sweet and sour chicken seemed greasy. I didn't feel to good the next morning.
This is always my go to for chinese food. It is delicious, price is fair, and I have never had a bad experience. The people who own it are also super sweet. I recommend trying it (I always get the beef lo mein combo)
Wok N Roll
If I could post 0 stars I would. I went there and the front lady seemed nice...until she asked me what did I order and I stated the chicken and rice.one lady came behind her and asked her something (I didn't hear) and she said "yeah, they like their chicken and rice. And laughed 🤔 What you mean THEY like their chicken and rice. Okay so I got my food and left. Came home and I noticed that 2 of my 4 pieces of chicken wasn't chicken ..... It literally looks like a cat or dog paw.....fried. I'll upload the picture, if I can. Im never eating from there ever again. There's no telling what the rest of that food may be. I'll never eat " Chinese" food again. Y'all be careful out here. If you don't see them eating their food then you don't eat it either.
Food was average. Sweet and Sour chicken was rather dry and tough. Expensive for take out. Paid over $14 (including a $1 service charge for using a credit card) for the chicken, lo mein, and spring roll combo plate.
China House
DELICIOUS! Homemade! Tasty sauces! I had egg drop soup (with those delicious, crispy noodles), and orange chicken that was obviously fresh with real orange peel, extra crispy + spicy. My sweet wife had hot and sour soup and Cantonese chicken, which also tasted and was equally delicious and flavorful. Our hostess was very kind and took great care of us. This place had been open for over 30 years and the lady said it's because they don't skimp or go cheap on their food, because it's so good compared to a typical Chinese restaurant these days. The cost was only $9.98 each + drink. Look at the bill! You must make this place your go-to Chinese restaurant, with friendly service! BTW, the Mongolian beef and lemon chicken dishes are also superb...Give them a try and SEE!
This place has been here since I arrived at Seymour Johnson AFB January of 2001. The decor hasn’t been updated since well before I arrived and it shows. My wife and I ate here for lunch today and the food was okay, the staff uninspired and the atmosphere is dark, worn and bit depressing. The positives are that the prices are reasonable and I didn’t get sick. If I come back, it will be against my will, LOL!
Jade Express - Goldsboro
Terrible. Who makes fried rice with no veggies? Fried rice is dried rice, flavorless, stale, inedible. I do not recommend this place at all. The chicken was flavorless, the noodles were also stale, and no one seemed to care enough to help us with our problems. Utter waste of money, just go to jays kitchen instead of this place. After reading these other reviews and experiencing the horrors this place serves as food, I think the health inspector and local news agencies should be made aware so no one else gets sick or breaks a tooth on this junk.
Got a plastic fork ground up in my smoothie today…🤬just because.. The 2 other ladies in front of my husband were talking to him about it because they ordered the same but they didn’t look the same and most definitely didn’t have the extra fiber that will cut your insides.. My husband thought it was ice and brought it to me at work..Never again… 😡
